Excellent place to take a broken sewing machine. Extremely wonderful workers who are eagerly willing to help you with just about anything. You can also purchase a sewing machine there.

I took my disney embroidery machine and Christina helped me understand what i have been doing wrong.. she also let me know about embroidery classes they have there.

This is the best Sewing Center in the Houston area, hands down. Knowledgeable staff, helpful, polite and friendly. They sell and service almost every sewing machine ever made. If they cant, they can tell you who can.

Yesterday, my very old Elna stopped sewing. I was devastated.Today, I phoned the McDougal location in Katy. The woman who answered the phone was very helpful and suggested I bring the machine to their location. They could let me know as I waited if it was reparable (repairs would take 6 weeks) or too old to be revived...Staff was friendly and very helpful. My machine just needed a new foot pedal. Yes! When the motor does finally give out, I know where to go for a new sewing machine! I highly recommend this sewing machine repair shop.

Ive done business with a few of the sewing machine centers and this center is the best. They have excellent customer service, great deals with warranty, and theres no comparing in the knowledge on servicing repairs! Been doing business with them for more than 10 years.

I purchased a sewing machine and decided to upgrade the machine. They said they had a trade in option since my machine was less than one year old. I found a machine that was on sale for $1,499 and I had paid $400 for the one I had and was told I would receive the full trade in value of my current machine. The trade in plan was not explained to me and I ended up giving them my machine and paying over $1,600 for the machine that was on sale for $1,499. I could have kept my machine and bought the new machine on sale for less than trading in my machine that was less than a year old. I will not be shopping McDougals again.

My parents bought a New Home sewing machine there in the early 1950s. I always bought needles there too. I have continued to use it most of my life even though the attachments were lost when I moved. Other family members also purchased machines there. We are all still using them! Thanks!

Stay out of McDougal Sewing Center. They’ve had my brand new Brother sewing machine for 3 months. No answers to what is wrong with it and no phone calls for dates. I think they are putting my machine off because it’s under warranty and they are not getting paid. I’m ready to forget about the faulty Brother machine and move on from both faulty companies.

Because my machine was purchased at this company, I took it there for repairs when it would not work. They charged me $100 when I picked it up but they couldnt tell me what was wrong with it. Turns out there was nothing wrong with the machine. I tried using it but it was still locked up. I took it back and it was only then that I was told my machine has a feature where it doesnt work when the bobbin load part on top of machine is flipped in position to load the bobbin with thread. So I was charged $100 for them to finally tell me it was the bobbin switch. Definitely no honest treatment there. I know they are in business to make money but neglecting to be honest and charging $100 for nothing is unacceptable!! And they left the machine with dirt marks. I question if there was any service done on my machine. Wont ever use them again!

Their service department will hold your machine for weeks on end and then claim they called you for info when they didnt

Horrible. I would never use them again! I started buying machines in the 1980’s from the Yale store. I always got good service and treated fairly. In 2004 I bought a Husqvarna Viking Desiner SE. I had been sewing and embroidering for years but Karen, at the Katy store, had me open it in the store. She took a phone call and I packed it up. I inadvertently left a part on the table. No one else was there. No one called to tell me I left a part of the $7000.00 worth of equipment. Months later it cost $150 for that part. In 2014 the embroidery would shut off by itself. While “repairing it” at the tune of $750, they messed up the sewing motor as well. I was very rudely informed that the the warranty was for 90 days! I had been told it would be 1 year. The embroidery never worked. I have been sewing for 4 years with it shutting off at will.

I recently purchased my first embroidery machine and needed some assistance when it came to the basics. I first met a McDougal associate at the JoAnn Fabrics in Spring. She recommended the office in Katy for an embroidery lesson...exactly what I needed! I called to inquire and they even set me up with a one-on-one lesson with Jessica since the scheduled classes were for more advanced machines. The store was easy to find and very clean. Jessica was very informative, patient, and I immediately knew that she was extremely knowledgeable. An hour later I felt like a pro and have successfully used my machine since the lesson. I will definitely be using them for all future embroidery and sewing supplies and questions.

Just bought my Brother PRS100 & finished my first little project. Dan delivered my machine yesterday & gave me a very helpful lesson. Stitched out a little baby bib with ease. Great quality! Bought my Designer Topaz 25 almost a year ago & have been a customer ever since! I buy almost all of my supplies from them because they are so knowledgable and friendly... Well, today I broke a little piece on my machine & the associates located the part & showed me how to put it back together! SO glad I didnt have to be without my machine! Thank you!

I went to buy a part for my sewing machine and I had a Great experience. I came across 3 employees and they were equally helpful, very pleasant.

I love this shop they are very fair and the staff are very friendly.

Had our machine just over a year taking it back for the second time for the same Issue. Bought the extended warranty that also suppose to get moved up in line and they secrewed that up. Paid well over $15,000.00 and getting treated like a second class citizen. Wish now we would stayed with our original Bernina and not the Husqvarna from McDougal. The service center in Katy the people act like its pain to have to wait on you.

Walked in and got immediate help. They let me know a tech would be needed to help me, what the service charge fee would be, and the wait time for a serger to be fixed before she went to get the tech (which was great for someone who wouldnt be able to wait). Tech came out and helped me fix my serger in less than 5 minutes and when I went to pay he told me there was no service fee because he didnt do any real work on it. Customer service here was EXCELLENT. The tech let me know they had serger workshops (which I need to take anyway with a handmade shop) and gave me a card for their website. Ill never take my machine or my service to another place all because of the service I got in less than 15 minutes.
