Sad to see this store go. Since I was small (now 48) it always seem to be there. The people who worked there always seemed nice. This was my first on the books job at 16. I works with many amazing people and made so incredible friends. Even when that shop sailed it it was time for new adventures, Kmart was a hop skip and a jump away to get what was ever needed. They were better off without Sears. That was their downfall.

Very nice store, classic Kmart look. Had lots of food, and actually was pretty busy for a Wednesday afternoon.

Visited just before the holidays discount period. The store was not crowded and there were some good offers. The prices were not competitive to Walmart prices even after discount for some of the items. Overall good store in the vicinity for quick shopping visits. It has plenty of free parking.

I really dont care for the Kearny Kmart. Its a store that should have closed 5 or 6 or 7 years ago. Their selection of everything was who cares. It is presently in the throws of closing, permanently, along with the Belleville Kmart and most of all the Kmart stores in New Jersey. Im told that there will only be three Kmart stores in all of New Jersey. Good. It was never really worth the effort to go buy anything in Kmart. Yuk.

I like to walk in and browse this store.. I havent visited during covid but before that it was fun to stroll through

I love kmart.. especially when they used to do double coupons just sad that most of the store closed. People dont realized how great this store . I love the clothes from kids to adults .We used to live in NJ & now were in south for good. None in my area is open . Cant wait to visit this store again.

I visited recently and unfortunately, the store does not look as before and has much fewer items available for sale. I asked if they were going to close and the young lady answered “No.” In the past, they used to sell a little of everything and was a great place to stop in order to avoid bigger crowds at a similar store. I also loved that you could come here to purchase large appliances (stove, refrigerator, etc.) and not have to travel out of town. There is always parking and I’ve never had an issue with their customer service and employees. Christmas season was always nice since they had a nice selection of toys.

The store is about to close soon,right now it has big sales! Like bags for cheap.

Kmart is located on Passaic Avenue I came in here looking for merchandise the store is great despite the fact that this store is short on staff and kinda empty I like this store a lot the vibe is good the the selection is amazing the prices is not as cheap as Walmart but I love it here I’m not sure why so many Kmarts are closing there such good stores and I feel bad the store is so clean and you can tell they work hard to keep that place is business so I like to show my support

Until today I did not even know there was still a Kmart in Kearny, which is what made me want to come here and see it!One of the first things I noticed about this store is how needed is surprisingly since there werent a lot of employers there at the store was amazingly clean! Seems like the employees are doing a great job!About a half of the store on the left is all clothing so theres a good variety to choose from. And many are on sale for 50% off right now. 🤑The rest of the store has the typical items with food and home goods and such. This location also has a coin counter on the front of the store.When we visited there was only one register open but there was only two people in line so that was enough for us to check out quick enough. ⏩On some of the items we did notice that the prices are a little bit higher than other stores, but as I always say if youre local its cheaper to buy local than to drive much further away to save a dollar or two. 💰Another great thing about this store Is that it wasnt crowded at all and the aisles are set up for plenty of room to walk by people.So the other negative I have about this location would be that parking has zero lighting! I was surprised to find this store still open. It was practically empty with only left overs from Christmas and winter. The employees were listless and just walked about. We were able to get a pack of socks. Someone looking for winter scarf sets and under garments will be successful. Otherwise its just a sad empty place barely a shadow of its past self.

Kmart in Harrison NJ going out of Business sale have some good deals.

I place an order to be picked up at this location.Got a call from the Kmart associate letting me know they are looking for my items, she knows they are in a box but wasnt sure which one, she was living home soon and will look the next morning and will call me. Next Morning got the call and it was the same story she didnt know which box to look, she knew they were in a box but she will look again and call me back and asked me If I still needed my items, I said YES. Got a call later in the afternoon from the same associate telling me no luck, they cant find the tops I ordered and to cancel better instead of waiting!!. Poor customer service and they need a better stock apparel system.

I found this Kmart empty of mindless drones like you find all over Walmart. We were here or 10 minutes and found what we wanted without the crowd of idiots.

Fast and easy not a line, not as much as they use to have, some departments are closed like the garden department.

I think the place is great. People are not too stressed here and I find many things every time I come here. Also parking is easy so just in and out stress less.

So I arrived at this particular store today 10mins before posted closing time (weekday at 8pm) for one very important purchase after Hurricane Isaias! The store supervisor said its closed but I showed him the time and he said I had to get out! This came at a very bad time because this was the only store in the area that was open! Even there competitor was closed due to the storm! The way this store supervisor cared about this community was trully sad! Maybe actions like this is what driving Kmart out of business

Prices are reasonable. The staff with whom I have interacted were and still are courteous and most helpful.

Clean store and shelves are full with products all the time.

Kmart is without a doubt one of my favorite stores during the holidays of course it got very busy. But when its not during the holidays you can move around pretty freely and the cashiers are relatively quick if I had one complaint to make, it was that the lines were ridiculous during the holidays and the people who work there are not exactly speed freaks.

I can see why this place is going out of business. The interior of the store looks like it hasn’t been updated since the mid 90’s. You can never find an associate to help you. Don’t get me wrong this place used to be great. I remember coming here as a kid and just looking at it in awe. It also used to have a little Ceasers inside of it. That was maybe why. Just let the store die and let something new take over.

They always have good quality merchandise with good prices. I always find what Im looking for.

Today while shopping at this location Nicholas Mcduffie experienced discrimination.I informed Karolyn at (Kearny Kmart) while placing my items on the register that I wanted to use my rewards to cover some of my order. She immediately asked me for ID. Other customers ahead of me used their rewards without ID, even a few credit card transactions still no ID. While disappointed I was understanding. After going home to get my ID I returned to a Kmart located in Belleville NJ.It was closer. We once again started shopping and was approached by manager Steve Suarz. He ran to our shopping cart, placed his hands on it and informed us that we needed to have a ID to use the credit card. We were confused but thought maybe this was their policy to inform customers while shopping to have ID for credit cards. Steve Suarz hadnt approached any other customers and so we asked Hey why did you assume we were using a credit card? Steve let us know that we was just at this Kearny location. We were so confused as to who informed Steve of us, and where the idea that I wanted to use a credit card came from. We returned to this location in Kearny and spoke with manager Maryellen. She was very concerned about this matter and asked that I go back and get Steve to say who contacted him. Upon returning to Steve he claimed it was a company policy and was unwilling to say who he had spoken to.

Older run down store. The employees do their best with what they are given. Most K-Marts are in a state of disrepair. This one has a good selection of goods and is conveniently located. The prices are good on most things.

Its Kmart they have down sized tge store cleaned it up but have no idea how their still in business. Besides me maybe 18 people in the whole store and thats including employees

Was having trouble finding the right size in an item. Asked a random employee (who, as it turned out, didnt work in that department) for assistance. She walked me over to a display and helped me find the size I needed. Refreshing to receive that level of help ! When checking out, I received a $10 gift card to use next week. Good day at big K.

Hardly anything in the store. Need to stock up badly. Cant find a sales person after 15 minutes so i gave up up and left.

Its a chaotic but if you dont mind digging for a sale like I do, then this is the place. Staff very helpful and nice, not trying to rush you when the are getting ready to close, I never had a bad experience there, a lot of stuff is really priced too high but that goes all away when you come a great like shirts for $1.99 in all sizes.....get there before its a gone

A great place for towels, clothing, or socks/underwear but everything else is just outdated. Only good thing is Kmart gives me so many free cash offers that I can use to get those things for free/good price. Just last week, I got two towels for free and on my other account, I bought a pack of underwear for $5 ($20 at walmart!)

This is the only kmart I go to now. Its always clean, you can find what your looking for easily because the merchandise is neatly where it belongs. The employees are always helpful and polite.

Wish they had a wider variety of denim for younger folks that wasnt somehow torn or paint-splattered. More limited in selection than most Kmarts Ive been to. That said, helpful staff and a cute selection of flats.

I really like this Kmart. The customer service is very nice and the store is very neat. I just dislike waiting in line at times due the crowd but the cashiers move pretty quick. Im always shopping there especially for my groceries.
