Good selection of gear in the shop, but the low rating is for the lessons they offer. You will still have to pay for a lesson even if the instructor is the one to cancel on you, because they dont do make up lessons. So I paid for THREE lessons that I did not receive because the instructor canceled on me, so I ended up getting scammed out of $75 for nothing. That is absolutely unprofessional.

Stopped here to get a part and strings for an acoustic guitar. The repair guy Paul is awesome, got us fixed right up in a jiffy!! Todd helped us choose the right strings upstairs, very friendly and knowledgeable as well! This place has totally taken care of everything for us in record time. 100% recommend them if you need help with your guitar. Very knowledgeable and thorough. The store itself is beautiful. There are lesson rooms downstairs, and drums, guitars, and pianos upstairs. An excellent place! Well worth the drive!

Poor service. Ordered an instrument for the new school year and was instructed by the store on the specifics to order. It came in three shipments, but come to discover an essential part is the wrong size and model. When called for assistance, the staff was rude and unhelpful. They said to just return the part (which is a considerable size) without mention of an apology, offer to help with return, or compensation for their error.

Got myself my first guitar (acoustic) & later that month my brother his first drum set. Great deals on there products, actually useful staff that is knowledgeable and cares about the customer.

I had rented a keyboard, an amp, and some cables for my wedding in July. Unfortunately, the equipment came with some issues.-The Output jack on the keyboard was extremely loose. The cable had to be propped so no weight would pull on it. This was the only way a connection could be secured.-we were short cables.-The amp provided was not functioning. Fortunately the DJ I hired had an extra amp in their van to lend.I understand having faulty equipment can happen sometimes, especially during busier weeks. When I talked to the employee, they did admit the keyboard jack was loose but said everything else was user-error. They refused to give me a partial refund but offered a discount on a future rental or purchase. Due to my experience, I wont be going back which would obviously make their offer useless.

I first bought a pair of speakers a few months back, I called up and talk to Steve about a specific cord conversion I needed to get them to work without an interface, and he had it. I then just went back recently to purchase an interface and Steve helped me once again and was very helpful. I was more than happy to give them my somewhat expensive purchase vs online because of how helpful they are, and the prices on the things I bought were great.

I have had wonderful success with their guitar tech setting up my guitars. My guitars come out perfect. One hint: You must communicate your playing style to the tech. There are different setups for different styles. Shredders, Rock, Pop, Funk, Jazz. I believe if you talk to them it will come out the way you like!Ive been doing business with Jimmy Paulsen and Tommy Merit for over 35 years. Great guys. Also if there ever was a problem they would fix it immediately.Great Prices! Great Service! Great People!Im satisfied!

I had driven past this place for years, thinking it was a relic from the 90s with boutique prices/attitudes. How very wrong I was. I am so happy I finally checked it out.My first visit was just to see what they carried and to do some snooping around. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. The vibe here is much more friendly/relaxed than that of, say, Guitar Center/Music Go Round/Mars music (haha remember them?), etc. After my initial visit I knew Id be coming back.Eventually returned to get some tubes for my head and a replacement head while there. Todd was extremely helpful and dedicated a great deal of time and effort towards finding me suitable goods. Very knowledgeable across all parts/brands.If you havent given them a look, you should. I will definitely return.

The people upstairs are really helpful about anything you wanna look into equipment/price-wise. Some of the salesman there though over the years have acted like pushy used car salesman. Dont expect the porters to be very knowledgeable about merch, talk to the guys in back instead. The repair department is a bit lacking in communication and promptness hence the 3 stars instead of five. Instead of weeks it took months to fix my equipment or to even diagnose it. I wont come back there for repairs again. The store is best for shopping for high end equipment as Ive been going there for 23 years now. Its a good store when you know what you want already and who to talk to get what. But beware it can get pricey real fast there everything they sell is almost brand new.

I have been renting from here for about 4 years now. They have been great to me even when I have trouble paying. They clean the instruments and everyone there is so friendly as well as knowledgeable about their instruments.This is definitely the best place around for instrument rental not only because of their great customer service but the prices are more than reasonable.

The products and prices are great. Ive had good luck with their repair dept., although their guitar set ups leave something to be desired. Id rather set my own guitar up or have a professional luthier do it. Ordering an item can take forever. Many times Ive waited patiently for an item that will take months to arrive. Ive been currently waiting for a Fender product for four months now. You definitely have to keep on the sales personnel. Since they offer no cash refunds Im stuck in a bind and have to patiently wait until perhaps December or so Im told. Im very disappointed with this situation.

I have been buying all sorts of instruments and sound equipment from Music center. The guys are musicians, really know their stuff and are honest and fair with great prices. Definitely prefer them over national chains.

My husband bought my Martin there, I have taken my Ltd Edition Wildcat there for servicing (though it was not purchased there) and the luthier did a phenomenal job and they didnt snub me for not purchasing it there. Buy much of my equipment & music there and send my husband back when he needs a gift idea. HE loves that they never charge the price its marked at as its always lower!!

I would like to thank The Music Center. My sales representative in particular was Derek A.K.A. Deke. The experience was amazing. The communication was great from email updates to phone conversations. Ive got 1/2 a dozen vendors in my back yard. I however chose to drive 2.5 hours to Kenosha. There is only two reasons for this. 1. The price was better then I good imagine. 2. The service was the best customer service Ive ever experienced. I was introduced to different team members & coworkers while visiting. I got to see different parts of the building including the inventory & receiving department. The checkout was smooth. My order arrived as promised on time. I was referred to Music Center from the Manufacturer. I took their advice and couldnt have been happier. I will continue to do business in the future with The Music Center.
