Good choice of products. They have propane refill service but make sure to get the attention of the attendant or press bell. Reasonable prices on products.

I love this store. The staff are friendly and helpful and they always have a great selection of plants. I prefer coming to this store over home depot or Lowes. It feels more homey. They are formally owned out of Renton but currently owned by a company from Memphis. So not technically locally owned but the store still has a very Northwest feel to it.

Mclendons is cool. Its unfortunate that they dont speak sugondese. I had a really hard time locating the nuts

I I am thoroughly impressed with Johnnyin the plumbing department. He was the most knowledgable person Ive ever met to be able to help me with my problem. He knew the hardware needed for the 20 year old faucet immediately and enthusiastically gave help and adviceHe obviously enjoys his job.

Customer Services is horrible at this place is has a lot good selection of tools but most of the cashiers at this place looks there not happy with there jobs no smiled or anything it’s doesn’t make to come back at this hardware place LOL

Hands down, still the best hardware store around... regardless of the location you visit. Not only do they employ extremely smart and knowledgeable people (instead of just extra bodies to stock shelves like the other big box stores)... but every employee i have talked to has been extremely friendly and helpful.

McLendons is awesome. The big box stores are horrible when you need anything even remotely specialized. I need some springs to fix a chair, no luck at the national joint around the corner. McLendons had exactly what I needed...and the staff knew EXACTLY where they were at and walked me straight to them. A lot of people give 5-stars for just providing average service, but McLendons is a true 5-star operation!

McLendon Hardware rarely disappoints. Their personnel actually know the product and craft, unlike some orange competitors, and they have what you need...unless you are looking for a generator you knew you should have purchased before the regional power outage...and you waited all day before looking. Great service, great store.

I have been working on a project to restore and strain my deck. My experience with McLendon Hardware has been superb, delivered through excellent customer service in multiple areas in the store.My consultant Rachael in Lumber gave me suggestions for wood, had deck boards cut to correct length, and even helped with a solution for the top of the railing. That kind of incredible service is priceless.McLendon Hardware isnt a big box store, but their prices are very good and they provide a level of service that makes them my clear choice in hardware stores.

I was really weirded out by my shopping experience today at the Kent Mclendons. I stopped by to pick up some paint and the kid working the paint counter was busy helping some other customers, so I waited a few minutes with my paint base and tint swatch. When the kid got to the counter, he took care of my order, however I noticed staff just staring at me as I shopped while waiting for my paint. When I went to go get my paint, the kid at the counter told me that in the future, I’m supposed to tell him what paint base I want and he will pick it up for me... I didn’t see this policy posted anywhere. Additionally, why would the paint be laid out on the shopping floor if not for consumer selection and purchase? Mclendons, do you actually operate a policy of “look but don’t touch” with your paint bases? I left your store feeling really judged and profiled - won’t be returning.

Workers dont know what theyre doing or where to find what youre looking for. I dont recommend it.

I like no having the hassle of the big stores and they carry pretty much everything you need. You can find help when you need it and thats important to me so that Im not buying the wrong thing and having to go back for returns.Love it here!!

I have to drive to Spanaway store. You speak to 2 different employees to get assistant as the customers me help. No one knows where to find what Im looking for. Go to parts in plumbing . did already . then to RV section. You dont know where . your employee are rude. I will take my business else where. Where respect keeps customers

First time here. I came in to look for the items that were on sale in the flyer that I got in the mail. They were sold out of the gloves, and the hats they had I was not interested in the colors they had. They had a good selectuon of Christmas decorations and other things that I just did not need today.

Those working seemed to either be over-workes or just didnt care...it took over 4 pages for A garden worker to reply to another employee trying to help. And they they didnt have a very good attitude nor give much any info about the product that we were looking for while confused about the terms given to reference it as well. Experience could have been MUCH better, and has been better in the past too..

I used to shop here when we lived in Kent. The customer service was not as good as I remember it l😒

This place was super big. They dont have a ton of variety on most items but they have just about every item that you might look for in a hardware store. Glad that this place is now my local shop as it will probably be frequented as I work on the house and garden this summer!

I went there for their garden shop and to be honest, I was happily surprised. Prices were better than any of the big box stores. AND McLendons actually had inventory on the items I was looking for. Lowes and Home Depot were out of stock on many items. McLendons is definitely the best option in the Seattle area.

Best original hardware location on East Hill, McLendon Hardware usually has the unique parts the big box stores do not. If they do not they can point you to the place that does. With it being the best original location, it does mean a very old building. However it is reasonably clean, stocked and the employees have always been great when stoping there. The prices are a little higher on than box stores or online usually. However they usually have what you need saving gas on one and done small project shopping.

Great local hardware store for decades in the PNW. Many of their products are not stocked at the bigger chain stores.

Six weeks after I moved, I finally found a sliding window lock at McLendon Hardware in Kent, WA. No other hardware or houseware store carried them, not even IKEA. McLendon Hardware had the best customer service, too.

I went to get keys made and stood there for 5 minutes and they guy making the keys didn’t even look up or acknowledge me. When I complained to my fiancée, he overheard me and said he was busy and I told him he could have at least acknowledged me- he just stared at me like he was SO mad! There were employees all over that store and nobody offered to assist me. I never underestimate the power of MINIMAL customer service!!

Donna replaced socket for my bedside lamp. Wow!! She readily replaced this socket in real time, which saved me having to leave the lamp for repair and then having to make a separate trip to retrieve it. She let me watch her do the repair... I told her I was interested as had viewed such repair on a U Tube video. I was impressed that she was so friendly and did not feel stressed to have her active repair observed, etc. There were two other women employees, who happened to be in the electrical department, who contributed ideas to help the repair. I was so impressed... I had a vibe this was an old fashioned store, where customer service was valued and applied by the employees. Well done, and thank you, Donna and McClendons Hardware.

I went into the store yo buy drip pans for my oven..I was asked to leave my backpack at the register which was fine with me...but they still fallowed me around the store and all the works kept giving the dirtiest looks...If you have brown skins you will always get judged...I will not go to this store again😡

They will probably have what you need, but be ready to pay. They wanted $60 for a furnace ignitor that Home depot sells on line for $15. Im all for shopping local and willing to pay more to support local business. Im not for 4x the price and not willing to get a little closer to the competition. After 20 years, no more of my dollars will be spent at McLendons.
