This storage facility is very nicely run. Staff is helpful and pleasant.

I was looking for a place to keep my RV over a long weekend in EGR. Extra Space handled my request professionally and despite it only being a short term lease for me I would not hesitate to go back here for any storage needs! They are very good at what they do.

Rental price on my unit nearly doubled after 4 months on a month to month lease. Most other units I’ve rented in past at other facilities raise rates gradually, if at all, over time. That much of a price increase changes the economics enough to need to look for other options. Other than pricing policy though I have no complaints and find the place clean and run well enough. Overall verdict is that it is fine for short term use but I need to consider other options for long term storage. Luckily there are a lot of choices in the area.

I enjoyed talking to Carl, the manager of our local Extra Space Storage. He is smart, upbeat, and helpful. We ran into a delay with our movers and had to go elsewhere at the last minute, minutes after Extra Space Storage had closed for the night. Through no fault of his own, he lost a customer, and could not have been more gracious. I will do my best to refer him customers and rent from him, as our situation changes. Thanks, Carl!

I purchased a storage unit at the 36th Street location and worked with Steve. I have purchased several units from other companies in the past but Steve made this experience - smooth and efficient. He walked me through everything and answered all my questions. The site is impeccably clean and the flooring is as clean as a hospital. But the one thing that really made the difference is Steve’s personal customer service. He was professional and courteous. Every time I called he answered the phone “personally” (which today is rare since everything is automated and voice mail) and I called several times. He always responded to help and provided great customer service and care. Since it seems I am always in need of extra storage I will probably be a customer for many years to come.

We just moved our camper after being given very little notice that our previous storage space was going to be unavailable beginning March 15th. We looked at a few different companies and chose Extra Space Storage of Kentwood based on the professional, helpful customer service and reasonable price. Steve was wonderful to work with and we are so happy we found them!

AMAZING experience.BUT...dont believe anybody you speak with by phone. They know NOTHING. They put on a smiling customer service friendly voice on the other side of the country and do the best snow job EVER, and NOTHING they tell you ever pans out! Get with the manager ONLY, shes SUPERB!

New to the establishment but so far so good. Still own it all I believe. Well revisit this review when I take my stuff out entirely.

Was very happy with the service and facilities while I rented space for 7 months. However, they recently changed ownership and I am afraid things have changed. They charged me for a months use of the facilities even though I had removed my items. What is worse, their system only billed me AFTER I called and informed them I was out. If I simply had moved out and not said a word they never would have charged me $90. I was punished for being honest. Their prices are also going up with new management so definitely avoid.

Laurie that runs this place is the BEST!!! So accommodating and helpful. Great security measures and affordable. I would highly recommend this storage facility.

A decent place to store your things. However in less than 2 years my rate for a gravel parking spot for my camper went from $35 to $40 the first year and now $40 to $67. Hey if they can get people to pay that, more power to you. But a 67% price increase in less than a year seems shady and unprofessional. I’ll be taking camper less than 10 miles away for $35.
