Once again, West Marine in Key Largo has lived up to my expectations. I called first and had the customer rep check to see if the item was in stock. He told me there were 4 in stock. I immediately drove there but the West Marine reps could not find the item. I was actually told if I really wanted the item I should go to Markeys Marine. This is not the first time I was misled by West Marine and I only went because I had to have to product today. The reps had zero (0) knowledge of boating and -zero customer service skills. I have a Port Supply Account and I only go there when I have no choice and today I was reminded why. I realize this is a waste of time as most recreational boaters are going to go there to purchase items regardless of my review. The Key Largo location has been problematic for the last 15 years. I cant understand all those 5 stars ratings for local guides, so maybe it is just me.

Very large store with a good inventory. Needed some trailer tire. They had them in stock in the back room. Always ask as it may not be out on the shelf.

I really, really, really love the staff here, so friendly and nice, always willing to help, lots of knowledge. My major concern is stock levels,we are in the heart of boating and they have so little stock. Shelves are so empty. That said staff will find it and get it for you fast.

Great service and great selection!!! I was looking for an inexpensive VHF radio for our sailing clubs RIB and the salesperson took a painstaking amount of time with me vetting the radio and antenna. This not to mention that the selection was fantastic. I’ve been here several times and am always impressed with the selection.

People service noninterest job

Tried to purchase a spare trailer tire listed as clearance at $112. Asked if they price match and they said they do. The item must be an Amazon listed and mailed (not 3rd party) or competitor within 50 miles. The same exact item on Amazon is $70 (but its 3rd party). The competitors price is $89 at Crook & Crook of Miami which is 43 miles from this location. Manager says........every competitor BUT Crook & Crook?! Are you kidding me? I ask Ivan (the manager) to work with me. This item, which is clearly overpriced and also slightly damaged (which explains why it never sold) to give me a competitive price. He balks and says the system wont allow reductions. Ok, max hell come down is 10% which is $100 for a clearance item that lists for $70 on Amazon and $89 at Crook & Crook. What a joke. I laughed all the way out. If the stock was public Id short it.

My second time at this particular store. First time I was taken care of by a gentleman in the back counter that was very courteous and knew what he was talking about. Second time around went to buy some electronics and the lady at this section didnt know anything and was very rude.I found the cashier to be nice, but then again she was taking the money.If you are going to have prices that are higher than most other stores you better have the service to match.Pretty disappointed with this store and wont be coming back again.

Theyve got what you need for our local area. The fishermen here require tackle and parts that are unique and different than any other fishing locale. They have seen to it that the local boaters/fishermen have precisely what we need. Professional and knowledgeable staff, good people and willing to help you. Easy 5 stars.

Key Largo boaters would have a problem without West Marine. This is the only complete marine store in the area. Well managed, good inventory and helpful staff make shopping pleasant.Maybe we feel that some West Marine prices are high, but if it was a get rich quick scheme they would have more competition. Other large companies have tried and failed here.

Good selection, but prices are about 30pct higher than anywhere else

Great for just about everything and staff is very knowledgable for the most part. They seem to have most of what you will ever need marine wise.The downside, the pricing is at least double internet prices and at least 40% higher than alternative places in the keys. And as great as they are for having complicated items, the simplest things you may need they don’t have. Fiberglass repair kit, they have... but a screwdriver they don’t carry.

While West Marine can be higher than some retailers, I never cease to be impressed with how helpful and courteous their staff can be. At this Location, Andy is a very valuable resource for finding parts and is always extremely friendly and helpful.

This place is falling apart they never have what you need unless your shopping for overpriced clothes.

My brother & I went in today to return a battery that he had purchased a month ago. West Marine has a 1 year guarantee on their batteries. He also returned a 2nd core and bought a 2nd battery.Ivan, the store manager, proceeded to diagnose both batteries, and told him that the one month old battery was fine, that it just needed a charge. He could have returned the battery right then and there, but opted not to since he figured charging was worth a shot.He purchased a battery charger and a jump starter to have in the future, and left the battery charging at home. After several hours of charging, the battery wouldnt hold a charge so we went into the store again to return the battery.Ivan proceeded to yell at him saying you dont know anything about how batteries work, and you think youre slick, dont you! Dont even think about trying to return the 2nd battery in the future! He stated that West Marine has a no hassle return policy, and he waived him off saying it was only for batteries that were the wrong size (which is false), so he told him the battery was the wrong size, and he wanted the money back. The cashier gave him a gift card, he walked down, picked up a new battery and purchased with the gift card.We then went back and returned the jump starter, and battery charger, which he had planned on keeping. We will be purchasing these items from the Miami store. Key Largo West Marine will not see another dollar from us with current management in place.

Dont know who the manager is at the Key Largo store, but the attitude of the employees sucks. There were 4 women at the register, I was buying 4 bolts and nuts. One girl asked me for the SKU numbers, the other asked me if I knew the price. Then they wanted me to go back and get the information while 2 of the 4 were standing around doing nothing. Well needless to say I didnt go back and get anything.There were a couple of items I forgot to buy, Im dreading going there again.

Very nice clean store especially since the recent remodel nicely laid out. Employees are some of the best West Marine employees like youre with and I visited several stores across South Florida they are generally the most Pleasant The miami-based stores are the worst ones, so thats to say the words restaurant is probably equals in the best standard department store Walmart and Kmart are nightmares Target is marginally better.. but the organization is very strange that they force you to walk every aisle West Marines stores everywhere are generally stock much better trained employees really seem to care about what you mean and then we all know because that I miss nice to feel they have a genuine interest in getting you what you need and not just getting you out . They really are above and beyond another department store I can think of. And they would be model examples of what every other store in this country should strive to be like as long as theyre open till at least 8 kinda but really 9 is. Imo

Ashley at the register was a true disappointment when it comesTo customer service. My husband went to purchase a radar mind you his spending $2,500 and I noticed box had been previously opened. We had a lady re-open it to check its contents. Ashley came after a couple of minutes and very rudely said if you don’t want it I’m gong to put it back and there’s no more at the store. I would have walked out and she would have lost the sale. My husband really want it to get this item today so he bought it. The worst sales person I’ve encountered at a West Marine. Ashley needs te-training.

I asked the manager Ivan to price match a part from a Miami tackle store that was 52 miles away. He would not match the price due to their policy of 50 mike radius. I said work with me and he screamed at me and said dont you understand what I said. At that point I was embarrassed and people were looking at me like I was a thief or did something wrong. I wandered around the store and then noticed he was on the phone with another disgruntled customer yelling at that person over a return. The point I couldnt help but notice that Ivan the manager should have gone into his office literally 10 feet away and dealt with the customer behind closed doors instead of in the front customers. I would score them a zero if a zero were available

Overpriced as usual however they are doing a lot of price matching.

A lot larger than I thought inside. Just hard to get of parking lot if you have a big boat on a trailer so just try to find a spot in maybe a lot a little further down.

West Marine has constantly gone down hill for the last 10 years you only care about $$$ use to be a great customer service oriented place ! you push the the workers to greet everyone but the problem is there is a fraction of workers to help !!!
