I met with Rafi and Nick Montalvo at the Marina to discuss the scope of work my 35’ Triple engine required. I was thoroughly impressed with their knowledge and insight into my repairs and upgrades. My previous experience with other boat yards was not favorable and I wanted to limit unforeseen expenses as much as possible. Nick walked me through the process and pointed out potential issues that may arise during the repair work. While in the repair process, the SeaHunter team was responsive to all my inquires. Rafi made sure the work was completed with the high quality standards SeaHunter demands. Some issues that Nick had anticipated did arise during the repair and changes to the scope of work were made.Choosing the right yard for your repair and maintenance is critical. The SeaHunter Team is second to none and exceeded my expectations.
I saw a hiring sign for mechanics. I offered to help at minimum of $18/hr. They said that would take me years to get that kind of pay. They offered me a $14/hr rate. Its no wonder they dont have enough help for mechanics 😂😂😂
Eddie hooked me up with Greg to get some work done to my Seahunter at the marina. They did an amazing job with some glasswork and perfect gelcoat work. I also had an issue with my gas tank gaskets. They fixed it and tested it.
We didnt spend much time here. But all in all a nice spot to stop by. The further south you head into Florida once your past Miami the nice the people get. Very friendly and helpful. If you havent been to any of the keys you should definitely put it on your to do list. Its a laid back world with a ton of Floridians living that low key, laid back lifestyle. Its nice to slow down every now and then and enjoy the breeze and some salt water. Marinas are excellent places to rent a boat or to get a pulse on what the season is as far as fishing goes. Head to the keys I promise you wont regret it, just skip hurricane season.
This is Sea Hunter boats marina that they use for service on boats, small repairs and water test. They also have used boats for sale here.
Recently, my wife and I purchased a 30ft Catalina Sailboat that was kept at Manatee Bay Marina. The staff at Manatee have been great to deal with throughout the entire process. We were so pleased that we have decided to keep our new boat there. Anytime we need a repair done to the boat, whether it be electrical, mechanical, fiberglass etc, they have been a pleasure to deal with. Their prices are very reasonable. The staff is warm and responsive.
Bathrooms are decent not extremely clean. The prices on things on the inside seem to be higher than regular gas stations. To have high prices and not good options is really not impressive. It is well lit and ok to stop at alone in my opinion. Overall its a decent station and we are thinking about making it apart of our regular trips
Very poor experience with this yard.Quality of fiberglass repair and color matching reached new lows.. Wish I could post the pictures here. The office there said that they just couldnt match gel coat. I ended up getting the job done properly elsewhere and they matched it just fine. Also like other reviewers we say significantly higher end billing prices than what was quoted. If you use Manatee Bay Marine, Inc in Key Largo for boat repairs just beware of mine and other peoples poor experiences with this Key Largo boat yards work.Overall very negative...
Very casual but nice food at good price. Good selection of beer. I felt like in vacation in an Island. Seat outside
One of the only available marinas between Dade County and Monroe County. Great access to the ocean and the best mechanics. Not cheap but great service
Biggest pirates in the keys! Labor rate is 120$ an hour! Every other boat yard is 70$-80$ only certified outboard mechanics that have to go to school get paid 120$ an hour! Oh and the paint 280$ a gallon! They charged me for two on my little 28ft Bertram! In the end of a 3 day haul out, bottom paint and new zincs..... 2000$ on freaking herd of!!
Actually had to get what they worked on redone. Their REPAIR blistered almost immediately... PISS POOR YARD-----The guys in the yard did a good job. but it was expensive, billing was much higher than quoted.Office staff would routinely not answer the phone, emails. No answering machine.Overall.. Hated it. wont be back. I should have paid attention to the other negative reviews.---
The short conversations I have had with the office Folks at this establishment in reference to dockage and Storage have been rude and condescending. I tried to contact upper management at the main office on this issue and they would not even have a discussion with me... poor way to treat your customers... you folks should be ashamed of yourselves....
These are the nicest people I have met in the Keys. They helped me fix my trailer when i was not even a customer. They would not let me pay them! They just told me to help any other boater I run into that may need help.
I have just launched my Hunter 26 at this marina and the experience has been great. The marina painted the hull and fixed some fiber glass first, and helped me raise the mast ready for launch.
Wow..... Cant believe how much this area has changed! My father known as Sarge, kept his Boston Whaler here when it was called Point Laura / County Line Marina. He knew both sides of the area better than the back of his hand... even the rangers sought him out to learn more about the area. I see several areas covered with concrete that used to be water - like where you go into the marina now to the left was open water full of jelly fish but not the stinging kind. And the added fake land to the left that used to be mangroves. Progress or destruction? I noticed fencing across US1... we used to put the boat in there and go way back into the everglades for some excellent fishing...Crocodile Point, Oyster Creek, Dynamite Pass...even some of the names of the creeks have changed or been ommitted, what happened? Why did they close it off? Used to be a gator everyone called Joe in there. He protected the Mullet fishermans boat that was tied up over there. I guess time changes everything but ..... sure missing some damn good fishing across the road there. Beast of luck Manatee Bay Marina. Oh yeah and the bar that used to be there... best place to find coins was under the steps of the bar lol
The guy even opened on sunday to take us on a test drive 2 different boats.
