I didnt spend a lot time here--just to get a couple of house keys made--but it was a good experience. The staff were polite, helpful and attentive, and I got what I needed pretty quickly. Ill likely come here again for any hardware or related needs in the future.

I have lived in C.H most of my adult life and have shoped at this hardware way more times than I wanted to, but sometimes when im in a pinch its easier to stop in there for a single repair than to drive to lowes. I recently purchased a dimmer switch 12.97 the same switch at walmart 5.97 but of course out of stock. So got home opened it up only to find out it wouldnt work on a 3 way so placed it back in its package and took it back the next day but couldnt get a refund because i opened the package. That is ridiculous and this may very well be one of the reasons people dont shop local or mom and pops. I will try to patronize this place even less after this.

I had to repair a leak in my kitchen sink, and after calling a plumber who tried to over charge me, I decided to do it myself. I went in to Colonial Heights Hardware, and everyone was super helpful. I explained the problem, and they showed me what I needed and even explained how I should do the job. While looking at products, they gave me several options and didnt try to make me buy unnecessary tools. Even had a customer, who was a plumber, help me. I found their prices inexpensive, and will definitely start shopping here for my DIY projects!

Best and most helpful hardware store in Kingsport!

The folks at colonial heights hardware are great! They are very knowledgeable and helpful people. They have items other large box stores dont. They are one of the last neighborhood hardware stores around and a family owned business that everyone should support.

We love to shop here because this store is locally owned and has been here for years. Its so nice to be able to pick up something I need here and not have to drive out of colonial heights. They have really good prices and are super helpful.

I walked in didnt know much, but got a lot of harsh words and belittled for not knowing what I am talking about. Teaching me would have been nicer way to help a customer, but I know no more than I did when I went in other than to never go back!

Quick easy friendly. They have most things I need. They are always ready to help. If you like Walgreens over Walmart or you dont know exactly what you are looking for, or if you dont want to drive 20 minutes one way to Lowes, they are perfect.

Very poor customer service. VERY POOR! They apparently dont know how to show customers respect. Theyve got rude, disrespectful, haughty, and condescending old men working there that know nothing about how to treat customers. Their Do it Best brands are as crappy and generic as it gets. Go to Lowes where they show their customers courtesy and appreciation because you wont get it at this hardware store. Lowes is cheaper and they have better brands as well. Harbor Freight is also cheaper with better brands.
