This place is very cool. Lovely atmosphere even if we had to get our treats to go. The hot chocolate was amazing as were most the chocolates. The only thing that disappointed me was the cherry cordial. It had a seed in it and a partial stem. Kind of a pain to eat.

The chocolates were delicious and it had a lovely box display, but I knocked a star off because they used styrofoam packaging peanuts to mail the box to me. In this day, there are so many other environmentally-friendly options beyond styrofoam peanuts.

Stam employees greet everyone with such love; love they mix into their foods, like their gelatos made from scratch. The licorice melts in your mouth while you take in the mystical piano playing music by itself and the warmth in the lighting and surroundings bring you to a different time and place, comforting and delicious; an oasis in the middle of Lafayette.

Sure they don’t need another 5 star review but this place is seriously a must try. Coffee is excellent, the chocolate and gelato are too, and I’m really leaving this review because the service is always fantastic. Prices are fair too.

It is a dangerous place: you can’t go away without coffee and amazing chocolate candies. Creme Brulae is gorgeous! They need to have a limit for candies per person, it is exetreamly difficult to make yourself stop to collect the chocolate candies on your plate!

I felt like the proverbial kid in a candy store when I visited Chocolaterie Stam! A large variety of delicious chocolates fill the display cases, and the ambience is classy in an old-fashioned way. The prices are not cheap, but you get what you pay for and the quality is top here. This seems like a fun place to take out-of-town visitors.

What a wonderful find. It is like a trip to Europe right in Lafayette. The atmosphere is so memorable with historic preserved original paintings on the walls. The display cases are filled with amazing chocolate confections. Another surprise was the gelato made in house. This is a go-to place for visiting friends and family along with a perfect stop while shopping on Lafayettes main street, Public Road.

Cool backstory.

This place is very interesting. Walk in and you are transported to a European city. The chocolate is to die for, and Ive tasted lots of chocolate all over the world (Russian being the best). Tried the gelato on a second visit and it was fantastic. Staff is friendly and patient given the huge selection. It is a little chilly in there and that is probably to keep the chocolate fresh, so bring a sweater if you want to hang for a while.

We love Stam. The chocolates are outrageously good. The gelato is the best Ive had in Colorado. And the hot chocolate is life changing. Beautiful space with stamped tin ceiling and preserved historic paintings that were uncovered during the renovation. The cherry on top is the live piano accompaniment thats often present.

This store is amazing! It is great for people of all ages, including kids. I bring the kids I babysit into Stam and they LOVE it. The service is awesome, and the people are always so kind. You should all definitely come in and check it out. Especially if you have kids, they love it!

My wife and I are self described foodies. When it comes to chocolate, weve had a fairly broad range from different establishments. From the offerings in Ghirardelli Square, to the selection on Mackinac Island, Chocolaterie Stam has some of the best truffles and overall taste that weve found.Other chocolate shops might have a wider selection, but the quality here stands alone and makes the focused selection absolutely forgivable.The shop itself is also noteworthy. Cozy and inviting, it has that Colorado feel when you walk in, with friendly employees, and good relaxing music.

Such a magical place! Feels like stepping into choclaterie in Europe. Im always a fan of the hot cocoa in winter and the gelato in summer. Very safe during COVID times. Wonderful ambience and decoration. The staff are always pleasant and provide good service. Will be back often to support this small business. One of the few places in the area with such character.

We stumbled across this place after eating at a nearby restaurant. Its amazing! They have beautiful handmade chocolates and gelato. Wed already eaten dessert and walked out with a giant bag of chocolate. Everything we tried was great. Well definitely be back for ourselves and for gifts. Service was polite and friendly. Parking in the area can be tough depending on local events.

I always loved Stam! I havent been back for about 2 year because I wasnt in the area. Luke helped me and my friend out. I liked how helpful, patient and polite he was. When ever I am back in the area I will stop by again for sure and I can only recommend that place to everyone! It is not cheap but it is well worth for amazing quality chocolate!!!

Very Good Gelato!

My wife, the recipient of my first purchase of Stam chocolates, said these are the best shes ever had. She really liked the rich flavors of both the chocolates and the fillings. She went to the store two days later to buy more chocolate gifts for other family members. A nice store location in old Town Lafayette, and friendly and helpful staff.

Its so fancy in there and their so proper and polite! Chocolates are good, and their hot chocolate tastes like your drinking melted chocolate and its so good. I went in there with dirty, tousled hair and a dirty nerd shirt and they treated me like a fancy lady! Im not used to that kind of treatment! The only reason I left off a star was because I dont know yet if their coffee and chocolate are fair trade. Im gonna have to look into that later.Edit: IT IS FAIR TRADE! Extra star earned!

Now, full disclosure. I dont like chocolate. At least not to anything close to the degree that some do, where for them chocolate is a way of life, like religion.With that out of the way Stam is exactly what I remember from chocolate shops in Europe, where at least when I was in Belgium places like this were as ubiquitous as McDonalds are here. (yes I am aware that Stam is the sister location of one in Amsterdam and that the Netherlands and Belgium are different places)Now, if you are even mildly pleased by chocolate this is the place to go. The staff is great, and the chocolate selection is beyond compare, if you cant find something to enjoy there you didnt look through all of the chocolate they have.Also, just order the hot chocolate. I wont go so far as to say it will change your life, but if nothing else it will be some of the best hot chocolate you ever have.Go, do, take a date or just your self. You wont be disappointed.

Super neat and incredibly delicious little place! Chocolates are 👌👌tasty and the gelato is amazing! The place itself is really nice too. So nice, I didnt think my kids were allowed in there until I saw high chairs (the cleanest high chairs Ive ever seen too)! Piano was super fancy! We went 2 weeks ago and Ive thought about it EVERY DAY since! Cant wait to go back and try some more yummy treats.

Hello Chocolate! I am originally from Lafayette and was home for a visit and stopped in with my mom. There was no one else in the place in the middle of the day on Wednesday. But, the chocolates were super tasty and the wait staff friendly. We purchased some Stroop Waffles, which I ate all week. They were some of the best I have ever had! We will be back Stam!

Cute! And delicious. I just wish they had chocolate croissants. They have chocolate, and they have croissants, but not that particular winning combo. Nice staff! I had the ginger stevia chocolates and a croissant sandwich with smoked ham. It was delicious.

I have never been to any store or business as beautiful as Stam. Was really excited to try it and I’m telling you I wasn’t disappointed one bit. Great place, great people, great gelato& great chocolate. Stam has set the standards so unbelievably high. It’s amazing!

Not a place for kids. 😥After waiting for 15 mins (while they finished up 1 customer with a drink and a gentleman we walked in with us) with 4 excited boys who did extremely well waiting so long for ice cream! They waited and sat and talked while we waited our turn. We ate the treats (we all enjoyed what we had).While finishing there was only ourselves and another women in the store. The boys were finishing and talking and getting a little loud asking for more (Normal kids behavior). None of the children were even out of their seats, just talking a little loud with excited voices. The guy working comes over and says “You are all being to loud, please be quite.” Needless to say they clearly don’t need or want business with kids.That’s fine we will take our business elsewhere. But families be prepared to be supper quite even when the place is empty! 🤦‍♀️Sad to write this because I know we will no longer be going back. We had brought in 2 new customers with us this day, they will not be returning as well (as they both could not believe what we were told.)If you don’t have kids, enjoy! It is yummy!

This die-hard chocoholic was sooo thrilled when a REAL chocolaterie opened in downtown Lafayette. It has true Dutch chocolates in such a fabulous variety of fillings. Faves are the dark choc cream, dark choc amaretto, dark choc champagne, and dark choc forest berry. I get a dozen or so at a time and freeze them so I can savor one at a time. There is always parking around back, so dont stress out. Go there!! P.S. Wonderful gelatos, ice creams, coffee, tea too.
