Nice little place. The staff was friendly and the sweet treats in the case looked amazing. But I was their for lunch and had the Zuhause Fries with egg over easy. Clearly the egg was cooked completely through. Under it was pulled pork. I should know better than to get pulled pork because most places drench the pork in bbq sauce. Sadly this was the case here, couldn’t really taste the pork, just bbq sauce. Cold cheese just on the dish, not melted. Interesting idea but not implemented well. I gave the Creme Brûlée a shot and was the highlight of my lunch. Very good and balanced. Maybe I’ll come back for desert because my friends burger was left half eaten and the same with my other friends shrimp and grits. It seemed none of us thought it was special.

I took my son to Academy to get a basketball. On the way there he said he wanted a pastry so I told him to Google it and find one. Well he did and Im glad we went there. He got his eclair and I got dinner. The Bourbon burgers were great! My son got the Korean sandwich and he loved it! So it was a score. We will definitely be back! It was great!

It was good. Decent. Had the Bourbon Burger. Made fresh. Glad I got the Pancake Syrup Glaze on the side, instead of on it. But if it takes 15 minutes to prepare the order...why weren’t the grilled onions and waffles fries also made fresh? Next time I’ll ask.

Nice to have a new spot to frequent in town. And just enough outside to feel like a little escape. The meat pie is incredible. The filled croissants are a little airy, but would definitely go back. Coffee is tasty. Just order it when you first line up, so that when youve made your purchase, it will arrive just in time.

For some reason, recently this place has gotten worse. The baked goods were poorly made and the burger meat tasted like soap. The service has actually gotten pretty lazy too. I hate how nothing good lasts. They must have gotten new owners or something. Not worth your time folks.

The elephant ears are amazing. The gelato is great. And you can get fresh bread cheaply.

I finally had the chance to go here yesterday. The atmosphere is amazing. Its really cozy and seems to be a good place to study or just hangout with friends. I tried a beignet donut, and it was very good. Ill definitely go back to try more food.

Zuhause means at home, and thats definitely how I feel whenever I visit this wonderful cafe! The atmosphere is lovely, and the employees are very kind. Good seating options both indoors and outdoors (outdoor seating is a covered patio).Their pork schnitzel is AMAZING! As are their almond croissants (they actually have filling! Not just a small little dollop).There is also a convenient drive-thru.You can order entire cakes and pies, and they have a pretty good gelato selection, as well as a healthy sized tea selection.Tons of different pastries and goodies to choose from, sweet and savory alike.They also offer dairy alternatives for their coffee and teas

Great authentic German bakery with a wide variety of sweets, breads and rolls, great coffee and daily lunches. Many german pastries you won’t find anywhere else in the state, but also regular fare like cheesecakes and cupcakes. Great savory items as well. They offer breakfast and lunch cooked to order. All in all can’t recommend enough. I’m german and this place always brings back memories.

Excellent. The pastries are so good. I felt like I was in a German bakery when I was here. The Gelato are so good here and the place looks very nice. The coffee is good here. The bathrooms are very well kept and they have outside seating.

First time customer, Set up alittle confusing. No Clear direction as to what or how to order. Employees not very focused on us. Almost like we interuped what they were doing. (about 1pm on 6/3) Far from a friendly and inviting greeting. Service is big to me and thats why the three. Now the food. It was reltivly quick for what we ordered, Was fresh and a great tempiture. The tast was unique to us but yet very enjoyable. Will go back for The food, not so much for the service. We tried two types of cake, They where Very VERY GOOD Well worth the trip for dessert.

You can dine in. The brewed coffee is good. The omelets are tasty. The wait staff is good. I would say they are consistent with their food and service.

Best bakery around. So many options to choose from. Seating inside with large comfy booths are our favorite. With other options like outside that is really nice. We always get custard danish its our favorite. Oh and the lemon squares too!!

A great hangout space with probably every single food item you need - breakfast, coffee, lunch, dinner, desert. They have it all and its all delicious, which makes this unique in that you can come here literally any time of the day. However, the seating is a little odd with how the layout is set out. It feels a little cramped.

Food is good. We like to go for breakfast and the breakfast croissant is my favorite. Pastries are ok (not fabulous) and weve tried a lot of them. A great coffee place and great atmosphere.

Though you have no sweet tooth, this place will make you one. Every dessert is in its own way. I want to try everything thats on the menu.

This place has a special place in my heart. Love this place and so do my kids. We go here all the time and never get tired of it. Love the pancakes and beignets!

I love this place so much! I live over an hour away and still find time to make sure to visit to get some of the best from scratch breads, cakes, creme bruleé, gelato, and so much more. Their specialties are top tier cakes and German pastries and fancy coffee. The cakes come at such a reasonable price, that you may find yourself buying in bulk on the many many choices available. If so, then they have large boxes to help carry the tasty treats!

Zuhause is doing some great things. The chocolate croissants are perfect. I love the burgers. There are a few things I would change, but overall Im quite jazzed about this place.

An excellent bakery/coffee shop with plenty of seating, lots of natural lighting, solid coffee with experienced baristas, and a stellar selection of pastries, baked goods and gelato. It’s a little bit in the outskirts of Lafayette, but certainly worth the visit!

Got the shrimp and grits and a black tea latte. Absolutely perfect! My boyfriend had the guacamole burger special and it was so delicious! The outdoor seating is spacious and perfect for enjoying a date during this time.

Absolutely fantastic little gem in central Lafayette. My wife and I have been here twice now - and it will likely end up being our go-to spot for breakfast from now on! Their coffee is good. Their breakfast croissants are out of this world flakey and buttery and warm and delicious!! The atmosphere is cute and charming. The staff has been nice and helpful. The bathrooms are clean! I am excited to try their lunch as well. They have plenty of amazing looking sweets and desserts. Dont stall another week - drop by today and try them out!

The coffee is delicious, but the pastries are out of this world. I have yet to try something that was not amazing. My favorite dessert so far was the cream cheese stuffed pretzel with powdered sugar. The cookies are also great. They always have a wide variety of items to choose from.

The best Killer Club Ive ever had!!!

This is one of those places where making a dining decision is difficult. We decided on a bacon, egg and cheese croissant with grilled onions. It was wonderful! Very fresh croissant and flavorful ingredients. The grilled onions were a nice addition. I suspect that whatever dining decision you make here you wont be disappointed. Very nice modern atmosphere and friendly service. Free refills on drip coffee.

At this moment I havent gotten to try the food or drink yet. Service is pretty terrible. Ordered a creme brulee and waited 10 or so minutes and went to order a hot chocolate and didnt get anyone to the counter for about 5 minutes. Sat for 10 minutes waiting on a hot chocolate and when I went to the counter to check on it the two girls had completely forgotten about it. They offered a croissant on the house which is nice but I would have gathered not waiting this long.

I typically have average experiences at most food places I visit; however, I visited Zuhause for the first time last night and the place stood out to me. Everything was super clean and tidy. The cashier was super friendly and professional. I ordered a slice of strawberry marble cheesecake and it was the best. Love this place!!!

The place is a nice clean bride open place the food is delicious customer service is great I went on a Sunday morning with my daughter and a friend of hers the variety was a little bit low if you wanted to buy some bread you have to order ahead to the coronavirus is understandable the knowledge of the place from the workers was good why is it called zuhause the only thing what bug me was the price a little bit on the high side but we will survive like everything else that is just my opinion overall great job

The coffee is superb! The desserts we tried were very tasty, also. So often coffee shops have desserts that does not taste fresh, but Zuhause bakes their wonderful delights in-house. A big plus is the fact that the workers are very friendly and helpful, which means a lot - just wish we didnt live 45 minutes away! We will definitely visit anytime we head to Lafayette. Thanks for the the excellent experience.

I find myself coming here really often these days! A Vietnamese iced coffee + a pastry always makes for a perfect way to start the day, and they have a crazy variety of food to choose from.

The food, staff, and atmosphere are all terrific. However, its often TOO COLD inside. Please be more mindful of your temperature settings, as I have had multiple conversations with other customers about this issue.Thank you.

Potato soup is so awesome.

Place used to be our go-to for a breakfast treat. However, the recent change in ownership has made the pastries quality completely unreliable. Some days the recipes look as if they were completely different. Ice cream has always tasted like cardboard, but then again this is a bakery. Coffee is not my favorite. Tastes burnt in a latte. Much prefer coffee from Jet across the highway. When the pastries are made like they used to, they are spot on. Chocolate crescent, almond cresent, and custard sammie are our favorites. Lastly, please bring back the old muffins... blueberry gets so old and is so boring. Used to have at least 3 flavors at anytime. Pumpkin spice and chocolate were great.

I absolutely love Zuhause. Excellent bread and pastries, excellent coffee, wonderful decor and atmosphere. Staff still in training at the time of this post, but still all really great. Best new place in Lafayette by far. And I dont think theyre going anywhere soon.

Love their Vietnamese coffee and beignet donuts. I recently went with my sister and got the shrimp and grits and 1 pancake (for my 1 year old). Both were amazing! I should have gotten a stack of pancakes they were that good.

A rare German treat in Lafayette. I really enjoyed Zuhause - they have a wide variety of pastries and their mocha with almond milk is excellent. Great location, lots of parking and, being as its new construction, the exterior and interior are aesthetically pleasing.

Zuhause catered our dental office brunch this morning. Simply put: the diligent, overachieving, and attentive manager, Bonnie, made the entire process beautiful. She texted me as she put together the menu for our employees to make sure every detail was a bullseye.The pastries are fresh and JUST sweet enough to satiate without all the added sugars. They focus on low key creams, fresh fruits, and small drizzles of glaze to flavor them. Love!Upon our request, Bonnie implemented their brunch/lunch items such as the loaded waffle fries and chicken salad croissants.•The fries, topped with a sweet barbq sauce, cheese, and a fried egg, was a HIT. As everyone devoured the fries, we all promised we would resume our diets....after this one last fry...•Also, the chicken salad sandwich, a seemingly bland option on other menus, hit me with a unique and LOVELY surprise finish: pepper jelly! I promise you’ll want to try this one!If you were to force me to extract some constructive criticism, the only thing I can think of (that, I’m sure, detail-oriented Bonnie is ON IT after today) is offering a serving spoon with large orders like this one.Zuhause, and their relatively new menu, was a fun and happy experience that our office will be sure to use again and again!

The pastries are wonderful. The coffee is really good and you get refills. Atmosphere is wonderful and there is a place to sit outside.

Zuhause has a uniquely German as well as Asian inspired menu for anytime of day. The calming atmosphere allows for a home-like feel regardless of the amount of people, and it is also a lovely place to get work done. Very delicious treats! And coffee/tea is popular. The set-up of the store could be more efficient though. They also sell home-made packaged goods to take. There is plenty of seating including outdoors.

Excellent product without being too sweet. Some times crusts can be so crisp compared to filling ...that impossible to eat without destroying product. Still tastes great.

Always love walking in to the smell of fresh baked goods. If you havent tried this bakery its a must go. Definitely rivals some of the more long standing bakeries in the city. Their gelato is the best in the city and they have excellent seasonal items as well.

Grilled chicken cobb salad and chai latte were to die for!!

I have a few friends who come here frequently and really like it! Not sure what was going on when I went but I was super disappointed with my experience. I was the ONLY person in the drive-thru line and it took them almost 20 minutes to give me two coffees... and in those 20 minutes that I waited, they brought me the wrong drink TWICE. So me, being so frustrated with the time and money I wasted here, I just left with an order that I didnt even want.Thanks for the horrible experience guys :)

They have an incredible assortment of sweets and snacks. I ordered a coffee and a load of garlic onion bread for home. It was fantastic. Everything I had tastes fresh and homemade. I hope this place stays around.

Had the pleasure of going to Zuhause this morning to pickup breakfast for my staff. Jake was extremely welcoming and helped me choose what kind of coffee to get. The entire staff was helpful and prepared my large order quickly. I DEFINITELY recommend Zuhause Bakery & Coffee!

The last thing a German traveling the unique South of the US is - finding a German Cafe & Bäckerei ... hahaha ...But so it happened to me traveling from Lafayette down to the coast, when the words Zuhause on a building caught my attention.Indeed this is a German-style bakery and coffee-house with tons of that luring stuff your doctor tells you not to eat. Well my doctor was far away in Germany, so I gave it a thorough try and was not disappointed. Not sure, if I ever can come back, but I surely recommend this place to everyone that wants to have some genuine German flavor on its tongue!

It was really really really good! I went for breakfast and I couldn’t decide what to get. The donut beignet was delicious and I got a slice of bread. The coffee is so good. I got the iced coffee with caramel. I sold definitely recommend to people. I am for sure coming back!
