Love Love the whole team! My mom referred me and I didnt not feel like a number. The whole team was nice and wonderful. Very knowledgeable and made any discomfort not so uncomfortable. I would give them ten stars if I could. I use to go to another place here in Lafayette and didnt feel as WELCOMED but Lafayette Vision Care gave me the part of the family care. This will be my go to place abs recommendation for all my family and friends.

It was very professional and courteous. I was instructed on what to do with each step. I was pleased with the new eyeglasses I picked out-they were of good quality. The doctor told me his opinion on the results of the eye exam. He was candid. I was pleased with the visit.

Loved the staff! Made it easy to schedule, the doctor explained everything as he did it, much better than my previous eye doctors. When it was time to choose glasses they clearly explained what my insurance covered. Good selection of glasses too.

I liked them. Went there for getting a prescription for contact lenses. The doctor himself was nice. The fitting process cost was much more reasonable than other places I asked. I got the prescription and ordered the lenses online later.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I did not have to wait long at all and the exam was fast. I love my new glasses!

I was looking for a reliable eye doc after having less then stellar experiences with places such as LensCrafters or Walmart. I knew I would be paying a bit more in overall cost, but I was tired of the poor refractions and being told I had to “get used to my glasses” from those other places. My experience with Dr. Gilliam and his staff was excellent from my first call regarding insurance coverage, appointment scheduling, and the eye exam. They were welcoming, efficient, and I had the best eye exam I’ve ever had. They were thorough and knowledgeable. They have a wide variety of frames on offer. I didn’t have anything specific in mind, just something lightweight yet durable. I was directed right to a frame that I went with. I won’t lie that I suffered a bit of sticker shock at the overall cost, however when I picked up the glasses and tried them on...I was shocked. I always go with progressive vs bifocals and have a bit of an issue with them. There’s always a learning curve to them. Not so with these. They are perfect. I can see clearly, no issues, and the glasses are lightweight and feel as if I’m not wearing glasses.I highly recommend Lafayette Vision Care if you’re looking for a pleasant and experienced eye care team.

Great experience. They treated my children wonderfully so I decided to make an appointment for myself. So glad I did. Another eye dr really screwed up & they were able to not only fix my prescription but also made it so I had very little out of pocket expenses.

Awful staff. I liked Dr. Gilliam until I had a reaction to the dilating drops that resulted in second degree burns to my face (5 weeks out they still aren’t healed completely). I was treated poorly by the staff and then charged for the eye wash I was given to put in my eyes after they were burned.

Staff unfamiliar and unqualified with how to use eye equipment. One assistant who sits in back office rude by interrupting me while I was discussing my issue with the doctor. Receptionist is clueless. Had a text yesterday from them wanting me to confirm an appointment today when I never even made an appointment. Dr Gilliam was nice.

I knew I should not have come back for my annual exam after last year, but I didnt want to put the work in to find a new eye doctor. Oh boy, do I regret that decision. I am a PhD student who studies provider-patient interactions, and Dr. Gillam is a by the books example of how NOT to interact with patients. I was completely unaware that my prescription had changed after my exam. Additionally, I felt talked down to as an adult woman for not knowing my prescription had changed. He took no responsibly for inefficient communication on his end. After my exam, they told me they would call when my new contacts were in in a few days. I gave them two weeks, and finally called them since I hadnt heard. When I called I was told my contacts were in and I could pick them up at any time. I went to pick them up two weeks later (that was my bad), and was informed that I needed to schedule a contact fitting appointment and therefore could not pick them up. At this point it had been a whole month since my exam and I still did not have new contacts. I made the appointment, and got a call a week later telling me that I needed to reschedule the appointment because Dr. Gillam was busy during that time. I rescheduled, and when I showed up today (almost two months after my initial appointment), I was told they ordered the WRONG contacts! The ones they had in office did not work for me, so I ended up ordering the same contacts Ive been using for years in my new prescription (reminder, I had no idea my prescription had changed). I am told those should arrive in 1-2 weeks (8-9 weeks after my initial appointment). The ironic part is I got a lecture by Dr. Gillam (yes, lectured, like I was a 12 year old girl who didnt know anything) about not wearing my contacts too long. Because of this fiasco I have been wearing contacts meant for a month for almost two months and counting. I will NOT be back next year. I have to add that the woman who checked me out (Makayla I think?) was very nice and apologetic about all the mix up. She was great!

I did not have a good experience and will not go back. The reviews really build this place up. Guess it comes down to what you are accustomed to in the way of service.
