Every time I come in here, it is an absolute joy. Everyone that works there has amazing customer service above five stars. Ricardo values his customers regardless if you spend $5 or $500. He has also picked an excellent team that represents his customer service and values. He has promos and give always, and spends as much time as you need/ answers any questions you may have. First time Walking in and was well greeted by the owner. Told him i was a beginner in Pokémon tcg and he gave me good recommendations on which set to pick out. Owner and i had a conversation as if we knew each other for years even though we just met. Store is clean and the vibes were nice. Will definitely go back!

DNG is one of the best shops out there! They always have alot of the sets of digimon you cant get anywhere else and thats what I like. The customer service is excellent!! I absolutely love this place and the people who work here! Ive gone in twice but my impression here will remain forever. I highly recommend coming here if ur into pokemon/magic the gathering. They have other stuff as well so even more to browse. They are super friendly and very knowledgeable. Even better the cards Ive gotten have not let me down. Out of a full drafter boost I only had one pack that was basic! The odds are greatly in ur favor.

I bought a damaged product from here. I noticed the game was damaged as I opened it. The next day I tried to make an exchange but they couldnt do anything for me bc it was already open. The owner gave me a 10% off coupon and acted like they were doing me a huge favor only screwing me over for 90% of the price. I still have a damaged game and no way to replace it.

This is an honest to God statement about my experience at DNG (formerly SnB but not affiliated with the former). This is not some made up situation no matter what the owner tries to say.Walked in for digimon starter decks and booster boxes back in December. The clerk was really nice nd helpful but their prices for the decks and boxes were outrageous. Although. To lessen the price blow rhey did include an extra dash pack with my purchase of the 2 starter decks I did end up getting.Also no price tags anywhere to be seen, so had to ask for every price (fiancé asked about some pokemon stuff there as well).Also, dunno if due to covid, but the store seemed really small due the the back seemingly being blocked off for some reason.All in all, experience here was meh, wasnt amazing but also wasnt negative. Would love to go back and give it another shot, although will be weary of prices due to mark ups. I understand each business has its own practices and policies. But price mark ups arent usually a good sign. Will still go back to give another chance though.

Good spot with very nice people! I enjoy coming in and playing in the Smash tournaments every week here. I also enjoy the card selection.Also, just a reminder to many of the reviewers that card shops/hobby stores selling cards at a higher price than what you would find at a big retail store are NOT the blame/problem - its the people who go into those retail stores and snatch up all the products to then sell them at a higher price individually. This is a place fostering a community of people in the hobbies, not a place simply trying to scalp or make a quick buck off of you. Demand is simply just very high and at unprecedented levels for these Pokemon products these days, and this is just the climate of the market right now.

I am sad to see what this store has become. I recall actually going there with the local LARP community to help the original owner paint and get this place up for its grand opening as Sword and Board. It used to be an amazing space where every gaming group would gather and have fun without having to worry about paying to use the space. Now, it has turned into a place that actually CHARGES the community (40k, Magic, Du0026D... etc) to play there. There are so many other gaming stories in the area that not only support the gamer community, but do so for FREE.Please support your other gaming stores that in turn support the community. Dont play somewhere that makes you pay to have fun when other Local Gaming stores do not.

Had an awesome experience talking with the owner, very nice guy, helped me and my wife and showed us around the store and playing area. Plenty of great merchandise and collectibles. 10/10 would suggest for MTG and other trading card needs.

My group and I came to play Magic here last Friday Night and had a BLAST! Store is clean, staff is friendly, well worth the $10 for 5 hours. Have heard other stores are charging close to $35 and arent even as nice as this place.

The owner is incredibly friendly super knowledgeable and does an amazing job to create a positive, and safe atmosphere for people of all different ages and social backgrounds. People here are very honest and pleasant to talk to. The Pre-Releases are the best! I highly recommend coming over here if you love Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon and board games. The booster packs here are sold at a much more reasonable price versus other places. FYI at the mall sells boosters for $9.99, which is $4 more then then at DNG. Also they have great customer service and friendly events held throughout the week!

I am someone who never leaves bad reviews on any company, but I unfortunately am compelled to do so this time. The upcharge is insane, and you are tricked into believing you are being given a deal. There are no prices displaced for anything what so ever. For a single booster pack of pokemon cards was $6+ which is absolutely outrageous. And I myself was tricked into buying a binder that I was told would hold regular sized pokemon cards but only held the jumbo sized. All this was done, and the I was told they dont do refunds. Compared to other stores in the area, this one should be your last resort. The store itself opens at 1pm and after 2 or 3 hours they close the store for awhile to go on a 10 minute break. I really wanted to like this store honestly but if you want to be overtalked, over charged, go to Dark Ninja Gaming. If you want better service and respect as a customer go to Anibus near the Walmart on Ambassador

Has a good selection of new and hot games. Pretty typical board/card game crowd feel which can be off-putting to some people. But they knew what they were talking about and were very helpful and friendly.Update: my review was based on my experience here. From a Google search it looks like they have been renamed. They probably should have handled their online presence better and instead created new accounts because if you search sword and board Lafayette it directs you to dng. Not changing anything but removing a star for their comment.

I was a patron of Sword u0026 Board off u0026 on since 2011. I have been a patron of Dark Ninja Gaming since it opened filled the void left by Sword u0026 Board. I love the previous owner but the new owner, Rich, has surpassed him and Sword and Board. Better staff were brought in, the new interior is immaculate, u0026 Rich bends over backwards to take care of the community. For example, DNG ran a black Friday promotion where large bundles of MTG singles were given away with the purchase of a single booster pack. I walked out with 40 MTG singles including a Howling Mine, a Phyrexian Unlife, a Bladewing the Risen, a Champion of the Parish u0026 a $34 Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary (all sleeved in great condition). Dark Ninja Gaming is an inviting u0026 professional environment u0026 I have a great time every time I go.

The worst shop in town, probably the state, they took thousands of dollars from their customers, when they decided to end their store credit program, with no way to redeem the credit at all, if you play Mtg, yu-gi-oh, d and d, warhammer 40K, or any other hobby where you put your money in to it,this is not the shop for you, they will rip you off . Myself, sister and her 3 kids went to DarkNinjaGaming this evening. We were completely blown away by the welcoming atmosphere. Rich treated us like an old friend. He chatted with the kids about their interests and made sure they left with some free goodies. He is the definition of true customer service. Hailey chatted with us about Pokémon and gave my Neice a cool lanyard, she hasnt taken it off! I loaded up with plenty of packs from the new Pokémon set, Fusion Stike. We are now dedicated customers.

Idk if he was the owner or just an employee but there was a man with a beard working who was EXTREMELY rude. He didn’t seem to be very happy when I asked him if they had anything like monopoly or Life for my grandson. Will not be returning

I can tell he has a passion for the hobbies he supports and wants to provide a space where people can enjoy them. I really appreciated the atmosphere in the shop. I will absolutely stop by next time I pass through Lafayette.

And come back and they DO NOT TAKE REFUNDS. Huuuuge scam of a store. Stick to eBay! The eBay scalpers are extremely generous in comparison. I bought an Evee Elite trainer box here for $150!!! Theyre going for ~$60/$80 online.

DO NOT Purchase from here. Theyre scalpers upcharging 3x retail or higher. Bought a Pokemon Shining Fates mini tin for $50!!! From these clowns. Obviously my mistake for not looking up the prices beforehand but theyre only $8 elsewhere.

Came in for the first time in forever to hunt for Smash Up and felt really welcomed by the owner who ordered the game and particular expansion I wanted for me right then and there with an accurate date of when I could expect both to come in. Got a call the day they both arrived and appreciated the reminder that they were ready to be picked up! Defintely would recommend this place to any strategy boardgame collectors!

Weve been to sword and board many a time over the last few years. The owner was always very helpful and great and pointing us in the correct direction. One of the staff members was helping another group when we walked in. He asked the other staff member to help us and he refused saying his turn was about to be up. Thats not quite the way to grow a business.

Completely overpriced. Payed 150 something for a 50 dollar Pokémon box. Didn’t have prices on shelf and said they couldn’t print receipts. A scam.

I was when it was dng not sword n board, Ive never been to sword n board. And now they want me to delete my review. And plus the stock was limited, and over priced.

The owner and his family staff the place exclusively from what Ive seen and they are fantastic and very friendly people. The store itself has a good collection of board game items (with some mystery boxes of varying price) as well as game nights every day of the week for a different game, if youre looking for dungeons and dragons its scheduled on Wednesdays and goes from 5:30 to around closing time but may vary depending on how fast your adventure goes. My only complaint is they introduced new required (but free) classes required if you want to DM for Dungeons and Dragons which takes away the freedom that if all tables are full or have loads of people (which they usually do) you can start a separate table. I will not deduct score from this however as with a large store like this there is probably a reason for it and I will reserve judgement until I find out.

Very rude to costumers. WAY OVER PRICED!!!! Msrp on product wanting is $55 and is selling for $99 witch is price gauging and is ILLEGAL. Thats a 95% mark up for a market value.Being told no is not the reasoning behind being rude. You can buy everything you said that was “illegal” on TCGplayer.
