Was looking for a glock 20 and found it on line so I gave them a call to see if it was still available which it was so I made the drive from Terre Haute to pick it up. Got there shortly after opening and had the best experience with this business that more gun stores could learn from on customer service. They had guns that I couldnt find at home and other places besides online. Very pleased and I will definitely be making the trip more often to expand my collection.

I really love this gun store I’ve been coming here for awhile but the past 2 visits have been very negative for me and it’s been the same person each time that was very rude. I had a simple question about some ammo I was looking for and trying to buy this very young kid laughed at me and was extremely rude. I thought all questions were welcome? I guess not because I have been walking on egg shells every time I go to 4 guns when I need to get some info. I may not be the most experienced in the gun department and this kid really made that known. Sadly I’ll probably just stick to buying my ammo online or from rural king when they have it.

I have been to 4 guns several times. It’s the only place I buy my guns. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and are very helpful.I currently own 3 hand guns and a shotgun, and 2 assault rifles.I highly recommend them. I’m going to buy another handgun, probably this week.I. Do not know anyone personally who has anything bad to say about them.I have found that people will treat you the same way you treat them.

Went in to look for a pistol this is the second time I have been in there both times I was totally ignored by staff. Today two guys were behind the counter talking about the landscaping they did over the weekend. I guess that is more important than customer service. I know they dont care but I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Spent over $2500 on a firearm and paid for 2 day shipping. Bought the gun on Tuesday and it isnt scheduled to arrive until Monday. Absolutely a waste of time dealing with them. I will never order again from them.

I walked in there knowing literally nothing about guns and had never walked into a gun store, and the staff were incredibly patient and helpful, explaining the basics of how guns work in a very clear way. On top of that, other customers there were very willing to chime in and offer their knowledge and advice to me.Also, and this applies to just about any gun store I think, but Ive never felt safer in a store than in here. Knowing that if any criminal even thought about starting anything there they wouldnt stand a chance was a very nice peace of mind.Overall, Id highly recommend this place to anyone, even though I have never owned a gun.

Review has been updated below. The employees are very helpful. The bigger issue I have at the moment and why its not 5 stars. Is because of the current ammo pricing. 50 rounds of 9mm selling for $30 & $40 dollars! 20 rounds of 223/556 for $16 & $20. Shortage or no shortage that same ammo can be purchased at rural king for normal prices ( when in stock). When you see the store is expanding it make you think why is the ammo pricing gone up to such outrageous prices if the store is doing well enough to expand? If this was not going on i would give 5 start and even the 4 that I did give is a very very weak 4. Price gouging is not right.Update: in fairness to four guns and the owner. When I wrote the original review I was obviously ticked off about the ammo prices. I get the supply and demand aspect of it. Four guns has ALWAYS been very helpful, friendly and more then willing to answer any question I may have. I went back to the shop recently and looked over the ammo prices and noticed that most of the ammo they had in stock was in fact the high end ammo that did warrent a higher price. I did see a few prices that made me scratch my head, but it really wasnt that bad when I sit back and think about it. So in short, I would like to publicly apologize to the owner and staff for the original review and have given them the rating they actually deserve of 5 stars.On a side note I was reading some of the other reviews and seen one that struck me as very very odd. The review said that they mistreat people of color. I have personally seen people of all colors in the store and never once did i see or hear anybody say or do anything that would remotely suggest what the reviewer is implying. Im not saying the person did not have a bad experience, but absolutely no way would I believe that the person had a bad experience because of the color of his skin. Thats just my opinion.

I am an OEF veteran who is passionate about the AR platform. This shop has everything I have ever needed including higher end custom parts you typically can only buy from big online retailers. The younger staff members(believe his name was Tyler) are who I have dealt with personally and it was obvious within a couple of questions they are also passionate gun guys. Price points are slightly higher than average, however I have had issues with a purchase(certain ammo brand) and they went out of their way to resolve it. I’ve also gone in looking to buy something small like a replacement retaining pin which usually means you’re buying a kit with several other parts and they gave me a spare pin for free. I’m a regular in the shop, so don’t go in expecting free stuff- my point is they have always taken care of me in there.

Went in to make a purchase. We had a lot of questions. We told Tyler exactly what we were after and he delivered. Kept it in our price range and even added things that we really needed(mind you still in budget) BUT wasnt pushy about a few things we still will need but couldnt budget right now! He was informative, fast, friendly, and spoke to us in a way that wasnt condescending since we knew a limited amount. The store was very busy but John and another man whose name we didnt get were very attentive and friendly. We will def be back to purchase more. Great experience!!Update: Came in yesterday with my 4 kids, 3 under 6 yrs old, to pick up a transfer. They were as always super nice. Brad was attentive, friendly with my kiddos, and just made the whole process easy and quick....which is always important with that many kids!

I have had nothing but exceptional service by everyone who works there. I feel their prices are reasonable, they have periodic sales with great deals, usually have bulk ammo on sale. All the employees are friendly and always willing to help.The only thing that would give Four Guns six stars, is an indoor gun range and a larger store!!!

I purchased a .22 rifle at Four Guns over the past weekend, along with a scope and rings. The rings turned out to be wrong for this combination. I drove back to the store on the afternoon of Thursday December 6, about an hours trip for me, after having called ahead to make sure the Weaver extra-high rings were in stock (the higher version of the ones I had been sold originally). When I got there, I was shown a different brand of rings that were more expensive. When I said I had called ahead to check on the Weaver rings, he went back and sure enough, they were there on the rack. OK, perhaps an honest mistake, but it seemed like an attempt to sell the more expensive product. I got the Weaver rings exchanged for the higher Weaver rings successfully. I asked about installation, and he said he could do that and I should hang out for a few minutes. At this point there were 4 employees visible in the store and 1 customer, me. Another customer came in and wanted to look at pistols. The assistant manager who was helping me set my things aside and began to assist the new customer. After waiting for five minutes or so, I asked how long this would take. I was told, Once Im free, maybe 20 minutes. When I said he had already been helping me, I was told that customers at the counter normally received priority. I was standing at the counter when I was told this. Three of the four employees seemed to be idle.To be fair, the employee who sold me the rifle was very friendly and helpful. Selling me the wrong rings was an honest mistake. He was not there when I went back to get this resolved.Ive since received a message from the owner apologizing for this, so Im changing my review.

My experience as a regular customer st Four Guns has been entirely positive. The staff is very knowledgeable about all the brands of firearms they carry, and can help you navigate the various accessories that are carried on site. The selection is world class, the prices are competitive, with any small gun shop or big box store, they are second to none. Their access to order any fire arm requested is also second to none, if it is manufactured they can get it into your hands quickly. The layaway program is also top notch, many places seem to shy away from this type of business, not this establishment. They have honored every deal I personally ever made with them. This is why they are a premier business in Lafayette and Northwest Indiana.

Staff seem to be knowledgeable and nice. However they charge me $50 for transferring a firearm saying just because I am a foreigner. I know the process and it wont cost them anything more than a regular transfer. In fact last month when I did another transfer at their shop it was only $20.Well, they think they are the only one who can do this, but Saputo Arms and Repair and Applied Ballistics in town both did transfer for $25 for me. Originally I prefer Four Guns for their cheaper price, but now I will never go there ever again.

I drive from the southside of Indianapolis to visit this shop and would highly recommend anyone to do the same.Store has been recently expanded. There is something for everyone. It is also well maintained and clean. The staff greets me every time I walk in and is always friendly.A+ business and is LOCALLY owned and operated.

Selection was decent and prices were very competitive. Their customer service left a lot to be desired. Came in the store wanting some advice and to possibly make a purchase or two. Walked around the store for a good 20 minutes, nobody decided to help so I grabbed the holster I came for on my own. After standing in front of the guy at the register for a good 3-4 minutes he finally gets off his game of solitaire (or whatever he was doing) and asks me if I was ready to checkout. Only purchase I will be making from this place. Several other stores in town have been much friendlier, helpful, and service was much better.

One stop shop for reloading supplies as well as building a custom AR. I would have gladly given 5 stars but they wanted to charge me $20 to ship a Benchmade knife in for a warranty repair. I was purchasing another $300 Benchmade knife at the same time because I cant go without a blade while it was being sent in for repair. When I saw the charge for shipping I cancelled both the orders and took my knife to another local Benchmade dealer who shipped it for free.

Great knowledgeable guys that will treat you right. Incredible selection and will work with you if you need something they dont have. Would buy here over the internet to save $25-30.

Im blown away by other recent reviews. To make my 1st purchase I have been meticulous to research online and speak with many professionals. I even went to Four Guns on 3 separate occasions totaling almost 4 hours of their time. I explained each time how I was researching and learning more before making a purchase in the next few months. EVERY time they have been nothing but professional and courteous to me and each new person who walks in the door. There were times they were in the middle of teaching me how to disassemble and clean a gun and customers walked in... they finished thoroughly and immediately greeted others. Even knowing I had 0 plans to make a purchase each time. I was impressed with how much time they spent with me. I would rather walk in and not be hounded or hovered over or feel pressed when walking in the door. Im in the retail business and believe they had great customer service and knowledge each time I was there.

I love gun stores because everyone is so nice but I have never had such a bad experience in a shop ever. I was looking to buy a handgun for my girlfriend for her birthday and no staff wanted to help me. Once I got a hold of someone their initial contact was what you need? They went in saying my girlfriend was too weak to use a gun but showed them that she could pull all the slides for ever handgun they gave her. Then they commented on how old she looks. I left after that and have no plan to ever return to this store

I have purchased a great deal of guns and accessories from Four Guns. Competitive pricing and a HUGE selection of products. I will say that I prefer to deal with the owner, as there are a few employees who are rather unpleasant to deal with. However, don’t let that discourage you from visiting this great shop!

Four Guns is not only under new management but the store although still on Earl Ave has moved several blocks away into a much brighter, cleaner and friendlier gun store. They have by far the largest collection of handguns and long guns for sale. What s more they will soon expand with more counter space and many more handguns. The staff are knowledgeable regarding firearms and never try to push a sale on to a customer. It also never hurt to request a discount. Gunsmith is on premise three days a week.

Ive made several ammo, accessories and a couple of gun purchases from Four Guns both in person and through their web site store. Ive been satisfied with the process and pricing on all of them. Everyone I have dealt with on staff has always been courteous and generally knowledgeable and helpful. Recently I purchased a used Ruger LC380 from them and ordered a Crimson Trace laser in for it, having them hold the pistol for pick up until the laser came. The Crimson Trace laser was in within less than a week and Ryan the store owner took initiative to install it on my LC380 while I was filling out the paperwork for the gun purchase.

Just walked into the place this morning. They have a decent collection of rifles and shotguns... total of maybe 5 handguns in the store.Tiny selection, little tiny shop.FFL transfers are about it for them - otherwise the selection is so small youll be sorely disappointed.April 2017 - updated their store quite a bit. Much nicer selection, better service.Got some hardware swapped on my AR15 and they were friendly but a little dismissive. Work was great quality though Ill give them that.

This store has everything it would need to be a very successful gun store except for customer service. I have been to this store at least 6 times over the past year and every time I have been in, I have never once been asked if I needed help with anything. I generally like supporting locally owned businesses versus saving a few bucks online, especially when I run out of range ammo and need something in a pinch. Im not sure if its because I dont fit the traditional look of most of its customers but being a consumer wanting to spend money and being treated like a second class citizen in a shop leaves me wanting more. I wont deny that they have a good selection of guns, ammo, and accessories, I would just like to feel welcomed in the shop. I usually let these things go but my last visit I wanted to purchase a new 1911 and stood at the counter waiting patiently as 3-4 employees were too involved in their own things to help me and an older gentleman got up from his stool at the counter and just walked into the back room without even acknowledging my existence. Tried several times to be a good customer here but I will not be coming back.

I had a fantastic experience at Four Guns! This was my first gun purchase, a shotgun. I told the employee (an older gentleman, I dont remember his name) what I was looking for, and he showed theirs options and gave his opinion. Very nice, laid back gentleman who helped me understand differences between the two models. He helped me find the necessary accessories. Purchase was extremely easy. I just had to wait about 20 minutes for the background check, but otherwise cery straightforward. Would definitely reccrecom for both beginner and long-time gun owner! Fantastic selection of ammunition and accescories also!

Not a great selection. Prices aren’t favorable. Guy’s in there think they’re real know it all’s. Managers rude. Location stinks. Watched these guys give a new buy the 3rd degree. I’d rather shop online and save at least 30-60$ off any purchase I make rather then buy from them because they can’t match or beat online prices. 20$ transfer fee. 25% slash if you want a refund. 40% slash if you opened the box. FourGuns more like FourGoofs.

Decided after thinking it over for awhile, with the rise in crime, that it was time for some personal protection, so after receiving my license to carry I started shopping around for a pistol. This was my first stop. Upon entering, I went to the counter, spoke to a slim, clean shaven older gentleman, explaining that I was new to the world of firearms and looking for a smaller semi auto personal protection pistol that could be pocketed, and would like some recommendations, which was greeted with a roll of the eyes and a sour expression. While he did show me some arms, he pushed the revolvers. I decided to shop around before decided and ultimately purchased a Bersa Thunder 380 elsewhere. After taking my new pistol to the range today to feel it out, I needed a cleaning kit. Applied Ballistics was sold out, so I thought Id stop in the Four Guns and just get some help getting what I needed, and asking for a recommendation as well on a holster to tuck in my waistband. I went to the counter and asked an older, stocky gentleman with glasses for help with these two items. He was reluctant to put it best. He did help me with the cleaning kit, then we went to size up holsters. I had my empty pistol with me, and we stuck in the holster, which would then not release it. Neither of us could pull it out. I was then greeted with a big sigh, and a snide thats a real nice f**king gun youve brought us, followed by other mutterings under his breath as he walked away to try to get my firearm out of the holster he recommended. Then after all this, proceeds to ask me if I want to purchase the holster? I wont be returning here. I had a lot better attitude at all 3 of the other locations Ive checked out while Im learning about all of this. Customer service here is a joke. Not sure how they stay in business.

My wife and I visited the store for the first time in order to upgrade her handgun. We went with a Sig Sauer P238 .380 acp. We purchased a box of sig fmj rounds and a box of sig hollow points. When we got home, we loaded the clips and attempted to chamber a round. The round jammed against the barrel feed. Time and time again it kept doing it, even after a good cleaning and oiling. We took the gun back to the store and the owner actually came in to talk with me as I was quite upset that they told me the purchase was final but shoot it and they will stand behind their product. After a heated conversation(I was the heated one, Ryan kept calm the whole time) He convinced me to try differwnt ammo and go home and test the gun again. When I arrived home, I went directly to my range and loaded up. With the different ammo the gun works flawlessly and is quite fun to shoot. I want to say thank you to Ryan and his staff for taking the time to hear my problem and try to solve it. Unfortunately, I had jumped to an early conclusion about the weapon and it turned out that they were able to give me my confidence back in it. I truly feel like thay take their time to try and help as much as possible. The fact that one of the owners came in to make it right is service at its finest in my opinion. I am sorry Ryan for making you come in late but you have earned a long time customer for it. My wife and I will be returning to buy more from you in the future. GREAT SELECTION AS WELL!

Went to 4 guns in lafayette indiana as many of my friends told me they could help me with information on a gun i enherited. The employees that helped me were very friendly and gave me attention between paying customers. I have no problem with this. But when the owner of the store got rude with me and the gentelmen helping me i appolagized to the employee helping me for waisting his time and walked out of the store. My advise to anyone! If you do not have money to spend, as i have bought at least 4 or 5 guns from them, dont waist thier time. I will never step foot in this establishment again and will not refer anyone to go their. I will also advise my friends who have been their customers how i was treated.

They may have the cheapest ffl transfer cost but they never acknowledge that you even walked in the door. Had a firearm transfered there and when I arrived to pick it up they had it out playing with it. Also the gun case that came with it was damaged.Verified that it wasnt damaged before it was sent out, so it had to be them. Unprofessional, and lackng customer service.... I noticed a new review up from Jarred, Ill come in there soon since I like to check out new stock.. Well see what happens when I walk in the door..
