11 pay lanes, but only 5 lanes open, with 6 or 7 people waiting to pay on each lane. This is every dayyy. Nobody at customer service desk. You clearly need to double the amount of employees. Or is there a shortage of employees due to covid, or..?The amazon drop off is great, but its time to expand that stand or move.
This Whole Foods Market in Laguna Niguel has gone downhill. I primarily go there for produce. When I last went there, there were two guys working in the produce section. When I asked the first guy some questions, he deferred to the second guy. The second guy didnt know the difference between white peaches and yellow peaches. He insisted the yellow peaches were white peaches, even though they looked very yellow on the outside and didnt have that special aroma of white peaches. When I asked if he was sure they white peaches, he affirmed that they were indeed white ones. I bought some, and when I got home they were yellow peaches in color and taste.I also asked him if they had Roma tomatoes. He looked at some bins of tomatoes and was clearly puzzled about what Roma tomatoes look like. (Roma tomatoes have a distinctive shape.) He told me, no, they didnt have Roma tomatoes, so come back tomorrow. When I perused the rest of the produce section, I found they did have Roma tomatoes, both organic and regular. Both produce guys were white and spoke English; this wasnt a language misunderstanding. Why does Whole Foods staff their produce section with guys who dont know such simple basics about produce?
This is easily the worst shopping experience I have ever had. Not a single employee or customer knows basic manners such as saying excuse me. Nor do they know what personal space is there was not a single minute in the store where I did not have someone random person more than 6 inches away from me when there was plenty of room to go around me. There was an employee that hit me with a shopping cart and didn’t even apologize. I have never seen so many entitled, rude, selfish, stuck up people in my life. If you want to go grocery shopping and leave with your sanity I highly recommend avoiding this store at all costs. Not a single employee was kind or helpful in the slightest. If I could give 0 stars I would. Once again I highly recommend avoiding this store.
When youre in person the customer service is very good. However for a while now (maybe due to Amazon acquisition) when you try and CALL...good luck! Today I called over 10 times and the line just rang until it disconnected. They were open. Eventually a human picked up and didnt comment at all when I mentioned how many attempts it took for a person to pickup! Trending downhill.(Update: Called again today, 09/20 around 11:30 am....same thing. Line rings forever, no matter what department you select, and disconnects. Irvine location picks up. What is wrong with this location??)
I live in Australia and have placed 2 surprise orders to be delivered locally to a family member . Brenda was a fabulous help and went out of her way to fulfil my wishes. I will definitely use them in the future. Thanks so much!!
I can hardly leave this store once I enter. Everything is so clean and healthy and the staff are friendly and helpful. They always have what Im looking for.
IMO, very poor customer service. Some of their produce was contaminated and gave me and my family food poisoning (in quotes because it was a week or so of diarrhea but not life threatening). I called corporate to report this, and they kept telling me to call again, or talk to a third party claims company (they wanted documents like medical records and testing). I spent weeks going in circles with them, answering calls from the third party and having to repeat that I do not have legal documents (which means they close your case), getting hung up on, etc. I ultimately gave up, and Whole Foods did nothing to compensate me for all my wasted time and the food poisoning, no refund for the contaminated food either. I wasnt expecting much- but at least some assurance from the company that they took responsibility for what happened, maybe a refund and a gift card as an apology. But now I know that if I get food poisoned again, Whole Foods would not do anything to handle the situation. It might be safer to switch to Trader Joes.
It is ridiculous to have to wait more then 10 minutes for 4 items and, by the way, I was charged twice for 1 item ( checked as 2 items). What happened to the fast lane for few items? Can we add more cashiers?
Always have what Im looking for. Prices are Whole Foods prices so forget about find a deal. Other than that, the place never lets me down.
Whole Foods Laguna Niguel needs to better manage their checkout lines at busy times. No reason to wait 15-20 minutes just to check a few items out. Cashier gives me attitude when instructing how to use in-app barcode. The professionalism seems to be below average from all this. Perhaps the need to employ more staff or install self-checkouts to alleviate this monstrosity of inconvenience.
It is super organized, like all other WF stores. The cashiers were very nice. I always find what I’m looking for.
What can we say, love this place! Selection of cheeses, meats, beer, fresh fish, vitamins, grains, smoothies, ice cream, veggies are over the top. Everything you need in one place. Thank you Whole Foods and each of its employees for making all our family celebrations, including this Easter, even more special! 🥚❤️🤍💙🇺🇸
This is a very robust Whole Foods. It was also quite crowded with long checkout lines with too few checkout lanes open and no self check out stations. Hence the 1 star ding.
By far the best whole foods location ive come across. They are pumping out fresh food every morning. With a great breakfast spread to a full fresh salad bar a coffee shop and ramen shop inside. So good
Wonderful Whole Foods...great selection and very friendly service...prices typical....should give Amazon Prime members 10% off....
Long lines with few check stands open. When they do open it’s a free for all instead of pulling waiting customers from other lines. It used to have the best customer service ... I guess this is Amazon influence. Persuading us to shop online and pay more.
Love it! Hugh Variety for all our favorites especially Seafood and Bakery Products.
Giant store very clean and really nice people work there
On the weekends, it’s a fight against the Prime delivery people. During the week, it’s a 30 minute wait in line with only 3 registers.
Great selection of organic and healthy food. Definitely on the expensive size. Weird that 1/2 the store is taken up by alcohol as most people who are in to being healthy avoid alcohol as it kills brain cells, destroys your liver, and white wine is loaded with sugar. Parking and lines are not good. Deli counter is wonderful some great salads and entrees.
Just had the worst experience at the Laguna Niguel Whole Food. I had shopped there earlier in the day and bought a gift bag for my Mothers Day present but when I got home it never made into my grocery bags. I returned to the store and it was packed 20 -30 people in line for each cashier so I tried to go to the customer service counter. The woman there was helping some other customers and she snarled at me “any open cashiers”. I tried to explain my situation but she wouldn’t even look me in the eye nor would she listen to my problem or look at my receipt. Once she was done helping two male customers she walked away and yelled at me “any open cashier.” So much for customer service. I typically spend several hundred dollars a week there but it will be a long time before I go back there after such rude treatment.
There was a variety of whole food shoppers ready and willing to attend the needs of the actual customers whom were in need of assistance. Yes! I personally can tell when the true meaning of whole food shopping comes in to effect. Reminds me of a vary powerful message that needs attending towards. So for sure somehow ? The position that all of a sudden takes control ones emotions in to play. For sure,
Its not even busy and the 3x open registers cant handle it. Self checkout or staffing delegation would go a long way here
Seems prices have gone down since bought by Amazon. Love WFM
Awesome selection and the store is always clean and well merchandised.
An employee was very helpful when I was looking for an item I couldnt find. He took the time help me search and was very nice.
Always a super long line now. Even at express check out. Parking lot is usually a nightmare too. Staff is friendly and professional so 5 stars to them but -1 for the lines and parking
The salad bar is fresh, great selection and eating it makes me feel better about eating better.
Ah the food of whole holy moly come here for your fresh organics and potential future wives
Why do your ribs smell and taste like fish???Last three orders and they said they can’t refund
Extremely long lines and wait times for customers
Of course, you pay more for what you get, but I have always noticed a difference in the flavor intensity of fresh, organic produce and meats, so the extra cost is worth it.I just wish their aged steaks would come down in price once in a while... no better-tasting or more tender cut of meat to be had ANYWHERE!The bummer about shopping there in person (and the reason I didnt give 5 stars) is the mindless way the delivery-service shoppers hog the aisles, leaving their carts in unintelligent places.
Packed on the weekend! Ill return when Daiya Cheese Spread products are stocked next to the Kitehill (allergy to their almond ingredient).
Whole foods has Amazing selections of a variety of healthy foods to choose from. It is a more upscale store. Their fresh produce and meat department is extensive.
The juice bar does not follow the hours posted on the website and the store requires you to be a prime member or else they will charge you extra.
Good quality product but prices are slightly on upoer side or you have look fir specials to stock up early.Staffs are friendly and helpful.Meat quality is really good.
The storefront looks nice. The store is clean and organized. The staff is friendly. However, everything is overpriced as with other Whole Foods Market store. It is a nice experience if you go and shop there once in a while.
Great service. Had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner from here
I only shop for pastries or cakes. Otherwise, its not worth waiting in long line. Every time Im there, the lines are always long.
It’s good... but it ain’t rock and roll Ralph’s.
Fast friendly covid-conscious experience
Long lines and only four registers open. First time here and wont be back anytime soon.
Too many insta carters ( or whatever they are called) Leave their carts everywhere, looking at their phones not where they are going. Makes for a pretty unpleasant shopping experience.
Expensive. Crowded. Good products.
I was surprised with the limited selection. I can get the same stuff from Ralphs and Trader Joes for less.
To work here, it must be a requirement to be rude, nasty and unhelpful. The employees are sour unhappy people. Dont even try asking for help as youll be made to feel like youve put them out. The store is small with narrow aisles and is cluttered with displays. Its nearly impossible to navigate a cart without hitting something or being struck by another shopper. Im going back to Trader Joes.
Is always pleasant to go to Whole Foods. Everybody is friendly and very helpful with a smile 😃. Is one of our favorite places to go and the food and produs are always 👌 fresh
Always clean and generally I have less trouble finding what Im looking for, as compared to Gelsons or Sprouts. Their produce arent too pricey, and the meat is definitely better quality compared to Stater Brothers. Also worth noting, I see less people without masks here relative to Albertsons or Stater Bros.
Expensive, but you can find good stuff here.
Excellent Food! Good prices. Clean establishment, friendly staff. Very neat place lots of variety of gourmet dishes. Not overpriced. Will come back again. Julie was our personal shopper..tended to my wifes questions fast and efficient. The selections were amazing!
Prices are a bit high. Only one guy at the coffee, juice bar. Left empty handed.
Dining patio is sooooo dirty !!!!
What can I say.we love it
Great local neighborhood supermarket. Varieties of selections of prepared meals, products, and produces.
Initially I went to this by accident but thank God for accidents. I have found this grocer to be the best in all categories except OTC pharma. Their wide selection of homemade foods are all fresh, healthy and delicious, their canned, boxed, jarred and frozen food products are from local distributors (whenever possible I would imagine) and I found earth-centric choices to be prevalent in all areas. The produce was almost all locally harvested and organic choices ruled the day. Even the seafood was selected to be the finest, freshest and most sustainable. As I said, I am so impressed with what theyve done that it has now become my go-to store.
Katie, one of the chefs is AWESOME! She realized I was looking for some extremely clean food and went out of her way to assist me. She even offered to steam some plain sweet potatoes just for me. She was patient with me because I was having are time making a final decision. I appreciated her friendliness, her knowledge, and her willingness to assist me. Thanks, Katie!
Excellent attention from store personnel and shelves well stocked
Great place to shop for groceries. The bakery is awesome. Their pizza by the slice is fantastic. Needs more parking. Every thing great but a bit pricey.
I love this place! Even before covid 19 it was like going to Disneyland for me and I never liked grocery shopping. I love thir food and their service.
I only shop here for special occasions. There meat department is one of the best around. The meat manager Adam set me up with some outstanding smoked brisket for Xmas.
Great Staff, can ask any questions and if they do not know they find someone that does know
Pretty good. Only oddities are sometimes the produce section lacks pretty common items, like nappa cabbage, or poblano / hanenero peppers etc.The social distancing / management of how many people are in the store is also pretty bad. They do have cleaners and are taking good steps, but its impossible to remain 6 feet apart.
Good place to shop. Can get crazy busy, though.
Had dinner in Rock n Roll bar area. The atmosphere was great, a high energy vibe. Our server was a huge Debbie downer for me, as she proclaimed to be Vegan n u should not eat meat
Quick and easy in store.
Great location and selection, but extremely rude staff - especially the cashiers. Trader Joe’s staff is much more friendlyWhole Foods has replied to my review and wants me to go to their general “help” page. That seems like a pointless venture to me, so I’ll just explain what happened here:My wife and I went grocery shopping here. In our cart was a bottle of wine with our groceries. When we went to check out, I was ready with my ID. My wife and I are both 30, but I was the one paying. However, after carding me and verifying my age (well over 21) the cashier demanded my wife’s ID. She was not paying, but the cashier demanded it anyway. My wife had to go to the car to retrieve her ID and prove that she is - in fact - 30 years old. I tried explaining to the cashier that the law is for the person who is paying to be over 21 and not intoxicated. The employee scowled at me and ignored me.There you go. Being harassed by a cashier for an extra ID for my wife. Uncool.
Grocery pickup is unclear with no signs indicating where to go.
This place has the most amazing salad bar I have ever seen at any grocer. We purchase some fresh salmon and it was delicious. The customer service is amazing. And now as an Amazon Prime member it makes it even more affordable.
Always great supermarket always great staff
When I arrived at the store around 7:35 am I drove up to the entrance to see if the elderly rule was still in place and immediately saw three middle-aged folks walk right in, so I parked and entered the same. No-one stopped me and I did not see a sign. I went along and shopped, as my basket grew too heavy so I decided to grab a cart. When I grabbed the cart a young man told me I couldnt be shopping before 8 am and I said Oh, I already have a full basket here then he said ok. So I went along my way and about 7 minutes later I was done and heading to check out. The woman paying in front of me was about my age as well and I watched another man my age approach the check out next to me. Then I see the woman in front of me arguing with the man who was bagging her groceries and hear her exclaim ok then this is the last time youll see me in here he mumbled something to her as she was walking out. She yelled back that she gets that these are the rules but you shouldnt handle this with loyal customers in this manner and I said she is right to the checker. Then the bagger proceeds to tell me that I broke the rules and that he can remove me from the store and ALL Whole Foods locations. I tried to inform him that I was not stopped when I entered and that three other individuals entered at the same time as me without any hesitation. I then told him about my conversation when I went to get a basket and I was told that it was ok to keep shopping. Tyler (the bagger) continued to raise his voice and tell me that he didnt care and that I broke the rules. He then proceeds to tell the checker to stop ringing up my groceries and that I had to leave. I stood my ground and argued that he allowed the woman prior to me to check out and the man next to me but was single handily picking me out to prove his point. Then I said youre really going to not allow me to spend $100 here and bring food home to my kid? and he responded with oh your kid I care about, just not you. He proceeds to let me buy my food while still arguing his point over and over and I think I finally got through when I said, the real issue here is, your front door team isnt stopping people or properly informing them, that does not make it ok to confront your customers at checkout. After I paid he told me to never come back that I am no longer welcome and that he is the manager and has that authority. He additionally accused me of cursing at him which I never did and also said I threatened him, which also never happened. I am sad to have had this altercation. Before today I have shopped at Whole Foods for over ten years in my various addresses across multiple states. Ive been an Amazon Prime member since it was a thing! Tyler made me very uncomfortable, embarrassed me in front of a fairly full store of customers, and seriously lacks any ounce of customer service that a manager should have. I will not be shopping at Whole Foods any longer, not because I am apparently banned from all stores now but because I believe that if a company puts someone that is that unqualified and lacks any human empathy in the role of leadership, they dont deserve my money.
Great staff! Very happy to shop here. I drive from San Clemente 2-3 x per month. The meat here is excellent. I also love the bakery, charcuterie, and produce. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for. I often find products that I cant find elsewhere. The staff does a great job and the cashiers are very nice.
I could live upstairs! Thank you Jeff Bezos!! Even the smells are worth the trip to Whole Foods, as good as the Seattle Store!! Cant brag enough on the people and the quality!!
Updated Review: Previously rated 5 stars, but things have changed over the last year. Happy hour food is nonexistent and the beers on tap arent that great anymore. Used to frequent twice a week. Now we dont bother going at all. We knew something was up when they got rid of servers on the patio and started putting items like kombucha on tap taking up the space for beer. 😒This review is actually for the Rock It Bar which is inside of Whole Foods. They have a whole section of the restaurant dedicated to their bar/restaurant. We come back at least once a week, every week for happy hour. Their food is amazing and the beer selection is great. (I think they have like 18 beers on tap and they are always rotating.) Cheap food and pints of micro-brewed beer for like $4, you cant beat it. Insider tip: You can buy whatever you want in the store, including beer & wine and hang out on the patio or in the bar area and drink or eat it. Once happy hour is over, we will order slices of pizza from the counter and they will even put them on your tab. I cant reiterate how awesome this place is for happy hour.
Healthy, helpful and delicious!
Became extremely frustrated when out of the blue they stopped carrying an item that I used frequently. Tried to get a hold of a manager via social media and telephone calls (since I was busy, I couldnt go in) and was completely blown off. I was told several times that someone would be contacting me shortly but of course, no one did. Its blatantly obvious that this place couldnt care less about their customers concerns or trying to keep them happy. After they showed me that my business didnt matter, I wont step foot in here again. Since Amazon took over the produce has significantly gone downhill. Trader Joes is has much friendlier staff any way.
This place has a very good hot bar and pizza. If you fancy a drink, they have a bar as well. Products are a lot more expensive than other places in OC but everyone knows that...Selection is different. You can get very cheap alkaline water there as well!
Always a good variety of items, I wish they wouldnt have plastic produce bags, instead have some cheap reusable ones people could bring back and use.... Just a suggestion. Anyway, clean store, friendly people and good variety of organic items.
Customer service is rude to people trying to do their job. Maybe being brown didnt help?
Selection is limited compared to other locations. Still has more selection than the Laguna Beach location, but...Prices were higher than other OC locations. Freshly squeezed Organic OJ is never in stock when I shop here. Overall, if Im in a rush and near closing time, I may go here, otherwise, I would rather select another location or go to Trader Joes.
The scallops this weekend are wonderful.i am going back on Sunday to buy some more.
The foods are very good. However, the services are terrible. I was the only customer and was waiting at the meat area for at least 5 mins before someone came to help me. The person behind the counter look at me twice but he never asked me for help. At the price I am paying for foods there, I would expect they have better services. I receive better services at Ralph. Whole Foods needs to spend time training their people in customer services or hire better people, who understand customer services.
Excellent selection of organic products including produce, meats and poultry. Nice selection of wines and cheeses.
Everyone in this store is super helpful and nice and knowledgeable, specifically the butchers! During the holidays, when there was a HUGE LINE at the meat counter, not only did the butcher help me with specific cuts of meat, he went out of his way to help me with something random, that had to be taken from the back, and cut right there. It was the best customer service for the amount of stress everyone was feeling the day before New Years Eve. I was blown away, and will continue to shop here!
I went in to check out wine selection and get some vitamins however the smell from the smoked meat section was so off putting especially in the wine dept i could not enjoy and look around and buy anything as i had hoped because it smelt like i had bad overly smoked meat being shoved up my nose. I finally escsped to the essential oil section where i had relief but as soon as i got over to vitamins the smell was back . I dont know how people can shop here with smell in the air.
The “Old Mother Hubbard” bare cupboard of grocery stores. I’ve given up going to Whole Foods since they can’t even replenish its staples, like coffee (no Allegro house blend, no Mocha Java, etc.) and the once fabulous food bars are awful, matched by barely warm, over cooked Pizza that would make admirable shoe leather. So sad. 2 stars - one for what was and one for what might have been.
Pleasant, earthy environment and friendly staff. Shop. Have a drink. Have an appetizer or meal–the food in the restaurant/bar is excellent and portions generous. Weekend brunch is unique and yummy. Live music Friday nights, too.
This was my first time at this whole foods for lunch and I was impressed by the salad bar selection and quality of the food. Ill be back soon.
I ordered a Pizza by phone spending 3 to 5 minutes explaining what I wanted on the Pizza. The guy I spoke to when I went to pick it up forgot about it and didn’t know and didn’t have it ready. When I was leaving the store I stopped to complIn to customer service about the forgotten pizza order. They wanted me to wait while they made the pizza. If they can’t remember phone orders then maybe they shouldn’t take them if they can’t fulfill the order.
This is a typical Whole Foods. Upscale items, great selection, friendly staff, and crazy overpriced stuff. The outdoor seating is cool. It is convenientfor where I am, but I still prefer Trader Joes.
GO TO MOTHERS ! Why go here when you could go to mothers. Im a vegetarian but I like fake meat options and this place has nothing. I thought mothers was expensive this place is through the roof. Just a bunch of snooty customers trying to cut line and showing no respect for this little town by the sea. I give this place the BAD VIBES AWARD FOR ARROGANT CUSTOMER EXPERIENCES this place is a magnet for these weirdos! GO TO MOTHERS!
Superb Selection of domestic and foreign specialties ! Great beers, super fine meats, chocolates, cookies, breads, cakes, everything... In this store, you find everything to please your tastebuds - but it all comes at a price. Enjoy ! :-)
This Whole Foods location is a disgrace. Last Saturday at 6 pm I was followed by a tall large middle-age man throughout the store. He approached me twice trying to talk to me or gain my trust. I am a teenage girl. I couldn’t get the snacks I wanted because of him. The second time he followed me and approached me I went to the produce side of the store just to get away. When I was at the other side of the store, I saw him look for me from the side of the store and he got close to me and just stared at me the entire time he walked, and thinking that because he didn’t approach me a third time I’d be okay. Little did I know that while I was checking out he was waiting by the entrance for me. Luckily I was waiting inside the store for an aunt to pick me up. I was looking at the soaps near the entrance when I turned around to see if there was a car outside for me. When I turned around I saw him inside of the store near the entrance, just staring at me, not even pretending to look at something else. I know he was waiting at that one location (where you can see everyone come in) so he could see me leave and follow me. He had no groceries, except a pre-packaged meal in his hand, that I assume was a prop. I panicked. I walked all the way to the other end of the store and as I was walking I swear I turned around three times and saw him staring at me with his creepy face even while I walked. I’m telling this entire story so you can know this was a real incident, and be shocked when I tell you that this Whole Foods location has done nothing to assure me that this will not happen again, even when they told me there were things they could do. As I was in the store, I approached a worker there and they were the only one that was nice to me throughout this entire ordeal. I had a security guard escort me out and when I said that someone was following he asked me “does he have a crush on you?”. When I got back home I decided to call this Whole Foods to let customer service know what had happen. I was told that they would look at the security footage and confirm that he was stalking me and remember his face in case he ever went in the store again. I was elated, but when I call back in a few business days, a manager picked up and said that they never heard of the incident. I asked calmly if they could do what they suggested and review the tape. I was told that they couldn’t review the tape until security was there. It’s funny because Whole Foods has full-time security guards. I said I’d call back. Two days later, the third and final time I called them, I asked if they had reviewed the footage. They said no. They said the manager would review the footage, so I asked for the manager, who apparently was in a meeting. This call occurred at 12 pm. I asked if I could get a call back by 5 pm and was told that they were not sure if the manager would still be in a meeting. I wasn’t aware that 5 hour meetings happened in Whole Foods market. I guess I learn something new every day. It’s been almost a week since the incident and I’ve heard nothing. This entire process has made me lose trust in Whole Foods. The only thing that justifies their high prices is a good shopping experience. I will never go to this location again, Trader Joe’s is better anyway.
