From the moment I walked in to leaving, I felt comfortable and well taken care of. I was not pressured and felt like the nurse and doctor listened and had my best interest in mind. They were honest with me and did not send me out buying something I did not need.

Dr Zemke is great. He had a lot to live up to because he took over from my favorite eye doctor, Dr Bebber, who retired. Dr Zemke is professional and obviously cares about his patients. His staff is kind and cheerful. I loved the impressive selection of frames. I’ll miss Dr B. but I definitely recommend Dr Zemke and Insight Vision Center!

I haven’t had an eye exam in atleast 10 years. Researched Eye places and saw great reviews at Insight Eye Care in Lakewood. From Check in to Check out everything was super professional and easy. Paula was awesome and Dr Rose was Great. She took xtra time to explain everything to me. The tests were elaborate and thorough. No pressure to get glasses or anything else. Good people!!!!! This is a fantastic practice! I couldnt trust anyone else as much with my eyes. Dr zimke is very thorough and always explains everything in a manner I can understand. He has gone above and beyond to try to help me make contacts work with difficult eyes. Amazing office that I recommend to anyone!

I arrived about 5-10 minutes early to check in. The door was locked so I knocked and hung out, waiting around by the stairs. Finally a very nice woman arrived, unlocked the door, and checked me in. No apology for the wait though. During this process, I could hear several voices in lively conversation in the closest exam room. That appointment was finishing up and the patient preparing to leave. I also spotted another person working in the office behind the front desk. It became clear to me that my knock on the door had been heard and just ignored. Rude!

Well my first time going to insight eye care center. The staff were really nice, and knowledgeable, helpful, and caring about my eye care needs. The doctor was really patient, caring, understanding, and answer any questions I asked. It was a good experience. I didnt have to wait long. Thank you very much. But one thing I was a little concern about, was no eye drops. Also the prices on glasses was reasonable.

The entire staff is very welcoming, helpful, and caring. Dr Zemke is interested in providing the best care possible with the latest equipment, no-rush exam visits, and genuine attention. The Optical technicians have been very helpful and accommodating when I’ve needed the occasional glasses and sunglasses over the years.At this point, the small office building is located in an area that is older, needing updating. However, they have announced plans of a completely remodeled and larger office, in a medical building, 9 blocks north of the current location in April 2020. At that point, the area, building, and office space will match the services.I have been getting my eye exams, contacts, and glasses for 25 + years at this location . When Dr Crockett retired 2 years ago, I was unsure if I would continue with the new group at Insight Eyecare. However, I have been pleased since then, and I have no plans to change!

For close to 20 yrs have used If any adjustments needed they are always there for me. Deede is my primary contact & she is awesome always right on target with any needs. The new owner & optometrist was excellent with exam. Not a huge complex practice. Just what older seniors as I feel comfortable. A value in practice of kindness, patience & compassion. Recommend to all who appreciate this atmosphere of caring.

I love Dr Zempke and his staff. I just took my 91 year old Mother for an exam. She said he is so nice & spent more time and explained more info her then any other Doc that she has had in Texas.

They take your money quick for glasses but if you tear a contact lens and have a financial hardship of any kind they will turn you away in a heart beat if god forbid you need a back up lens - I explained my circumstances and there was no regard for it at all. No money to order a full box they’ll send you out the door quick driving impaired or not. What a shame

This place is OUTSTANDING and a piece of Lakewood community and history. I have been going here for 18 years. The bad review sounds like someone who may have just been rude themselves.Not once in 18 years has anyone ever treated me rudely, in fact quite the opposite. The staff that works here works very well together and they treat each customer as if it were their own family. The doctors are amazing, well educated and very knowledgeable. I went years with an astigmatism in my eye that was never found until I came to Dr Crockett. My vision has stabilized and stopped declining like it used to since going here because it has been properly corrected. Great selection of eye wear and wonderful assortment of contacts. LOVE this place, cant say enough good about them!

The optometrist was nice enough; however, I felt like she did not hear a word I said when I came in with eye irritation. By the end of the 3 minute exam, I left like she didnt actually know what was wrong (maybe she did and just didnt explain anything). I ended up not even using the medication I was prescribed because I was not confident in her diagnosis, although I was never actually told what she thought was wrong. The closest I got to an explanation was I hope its not an infection. The staff that took me back and took my history also didnt make me feel very comfortable. They just made me feel bad for not knowing what brand of contacts I use.I am planning on cancelling my follow-up appointment and finding a new optometrist. I do not like feeling like a doctor has preconceived notions and cannot listen to my symptoms. And I dont like being asked 4 separate times what brand of contacts I use when I have clearly stated I dont remember.

Doc is super nice and very good but every time we have been here the front desk staff is really rude to each other! I can tell that there are new staff training and the other staff helping train are so rude to the poor girls they are training! Please give these girls a chance...the rude tones and responses are so unnecessary!

Does not care about customer. Received substandard quality of care.I came in to get an updated contacts prescription in case they changed (I normally wear glasses but need contacts for rafting). In the past, my last optometrist would talk with my about different brands, what most of their patients liked, and my options. I would take home at least one trial, but often two to try each and make my mind up about what worked best for me.This optometrist wanted to start with one brand that was a cheaper option - Acuvue Comfort Plus dailies vs what I had used before - Oasys dailies and Daily Total Ones. I only wear contacts a few times a month. All I care about is the comfort level. I dont mind if they cost 30% more per pair.They resulted in significantly more eye strain and dry eyes.I called to ask if I could have my prescription changed to Oasys, and the optometrist refused unless I made another appointment. They could have said to come by for a sample first, but they wanted several hundred dollars each time I came in to try a single different brand.I could not recommend this place less. I will not go back and I will be posting this in other places to help warn others. This optometrist does not try to provide care, they just try to make as much money as possible while providing the bare minimum to increase the number of appointments you have to make.Many of my family members are doctors. After talking with them they were all surprised at this interaction.

Dr. Zemke is one of the best optometrists Ive ever had. Ive had multiple emergency visits and his office has always treated the situation very well. I dont buy my glasses from the office due to their excessive markup, but I will always use them for all of my other business.

I have been going to Dr Crockett for 25 years; he was mothers eye doctor and now also my husbands for nearly as long. He took care of me when I needed really him. He saved my husbands eyesight Im sure (corneal abrasions etc). I trust him completely. And hes funny. Dr Zemke and staff are very nice, also.

I came in for a new customer appointment and the staff was very friendly and kind. I also was seen right away! The doctor even seemed to be knowledgeable, but she gave me the wrong prescription on my contacts. It wasnt strong enough. I called them up a few days later and let them know that and they told me to come back in.I saw doctor again and she gave me one stronger prescription, but she kept saying that my first prescription was perfect yet she will give me one stronger to try anyways. First of all I feel me being the user would know if a prescription is blurry or not, I kind of feel it was the little stick she was using to determine my prescription was told by several other doctors those are not accurate so they dont use them. Second my glasses I got as same time are not same prescription and I told her that yet she kept them two different prescriptions so now when I switch between them I can tell the difference and it makes me dizzy sometimes for hours while my eyes adjust.I feel it is great staff and fast service but doctor needs to spend more time being accurate and fast!

Went horribly wrong, treated very rudely by staff and Dr. when they had to revisit the prescription. Three months and four visits later and still incorrect glasses. I gave up and went to a corporate run eye care facility and they got it right the first time! Never again, lesson learned.
