I highly recommend coming here! Eye exams are quick and thorough & the doctor is very friendly. The main reason I continue coming back is because the great customer service. Jesse & Amanda are awesome. Jesse has helped me pick out every frame I’ve owned. He is very helpful, insightful & will have you leaving happy & confident in your new frames! Jesse really takes his time to find you the perfect fit & give you honest feed back. I have always loved coming here because of him. I appreciate the office team all around & have always been very satisfied because I’m always taken great care of not matter who is helping me. Absolutely love this place!

My experience has been very good at Vision Care Specialists, now My Eye Dr. They accept my VSP insurance and handle all the related paperwork. The Doctor gives a very informative examination, and she is willing to answer all my questions, even in follow-up conversations. She had my lenses remade for free to adjust my closeup distance focus to accommodate my needs. My family is happy with their glasses from My Eye Dr.

RUN, DON’T WALK AWAY. FAR, FAR AWAY.Vision Care Specialists had been our family eye care practice for years, however, since being purchased by My Eye Doctor, we will NEVER go back. The knowledgeable, caring, competent, professional staff has been replaced with rude, low quality, condescending, incompetent, unprofessional employees. I went to the Lakewood office today to have my $1500 glasses adjusted, look at new frames, and book our annual five appointments, which translates to a SIGNIFICANT purchase.Upon entering, I was greeted by the “employee” that works with the glasses, ordering me back onto the doormat from about ten feet away.(I realize “optician” is her title, but her demeanor did not warrant the courtesy of that title.) After admonishing me for not having an appointment, she agreed to the grand gesture of adjusting my glasses. While waiting, I touched/tried on a couple of frames. Annoyed, she instructed me to give them back immediately to be sterilized. I wasn’t even finished trying them on. When I lowered my mask to see how the frames looked, from a back room she directed me to leave my mask on. I was the ONLY person in the room!If the new business model is to exude an overarching attitude of condescension and superiority, they’ve nailed it. However, it is hard not to notice the decline in business. After patronizing this office for so many years, I have never seen the waiting room empty nor the phones quiet. Usually there are busy employees, multiple patients, phones ringing, doctors milling about, coffee brewing....Not anymore. The only employee behind the desk never acknowledged me, although I had mentioned appointments. She did, however, take a phone call being very curt and unprofessional with the caller. For a group of people with limited personal and professional skills, they are surprisingly arrogant.After this short twenty minute encounter, certain we would never set foot in this office again, I made a decision. I handled and tried on about twenty frames, leaving them on counters and desks. I figured without patients, those employees will need something to keep them busy. Might as well disinfect until lunch. Only reason for 3 stars is the doctor I saw was 45 minutes late and I was waiting in the exam room. However, Jesse on the floor is AMAZING!!! He is so nice and helpful with choosing glasses. He was honest about what looked good on my face. When I went back for my fitting with him he complimented the pair we chose. Jesse was super super good- he deserves 5 stars!

I had an eye appointment which I scheduled about a week ago for Wednesday morning. They confirmed the appointment a few times electronically and via phone. They are definitely compliant with covid-19 protocols and I felt very comfortable. Everything was clean and they had processes in place that was obvious and I appreciated that. The experience was very good, everyone was friendly and I could tell they were busy. I got my contacts which I have not had in 2 years. I do not remember the Drs name but she was very friendly, thorough, and discussed in detail what she saw, what I can expect and all my options. Awesome. My left contact was a bit blurry and so I called and she had explained we may want to bump up the strength on my left eye. So i called and she had one waiting for me. It it much better! They try very hard and I appreciate their efforts. In my opinion, this is a very good place to go. I had only been to pearle vision centers my whole life up to this point. Decided to try em out as they are right next to my house. Glad i did. Would definitely recommend.

This place was the pinnacle of great customer service! Calling to schedule an appointment was quick and easy. When I arrived they had a very clearly marked Covid-19 procedure on the door and I followed the steps and was quickly admitted to the waiting room by kind and attentive staff. I appreciate the level of care taken in checking my temperature and asking some questions to gauge any exposure to Covid. I had an excellent experience with the staff member who ran me through the initial tests, and Dr. Angela Haas was a very kind and professional caretaker. I will be returning here many times!

My wait time was about two minutes from check-in to get into a patient room and about 4 minutes until the Doctor came in my room. After that, I was assisted consistently until the end of my appointment. The Doctor was pleasant and explained the exam and answered all of my questions in laymens terms. Everyone in the office was pleasant as well...and knowledgeable! I didnt have to wait for the Doctor to be available before my questions about products were answered. I was more than satisfied with my experience!! Highly recommend this office!

Dr. Warta did not perform an accurate eye exam and prescribed a lower strength than my original glasses. I had to come to the office several times to get this corrected, extremely inconvenient. However, Fred the optician was super helpful and did the best he could. For spending the amount of money I did, I would not recommend this business.

Entire staff was pleasant, however my new prescription is not working for me. I tried to make an appointment online as an existing patient, but the forms kept asking for information that I did not have on me. (I feel like as an existing patient, I should not have to fill in the same amount of information as a new patient.) So I am unable to schedule an appointment through the website. I tried calling the office, but have been on hold for quite some time. I cant leave a message to be called back since I am working and can only talk at certain times. They are not open when I am off of work.Update:After a few visits to correct the issue with my new glasses, they now work perfectly and I am grateful for the staffs help.

I ordered my original glasses at the end of December. DECEMBER. It is June now and on my third pair of glasses that are not in sync with my vision needs.Took weeks to receive the first pair —which they blamed on the system failing and losing some of the patient’s prescriptions. Cool.Finally go to pick up the glasses, wait 45 min JUST to try them on while they literally watch someone try on multiple pairs of glasses. It’s very difficult trying to find the perfect pair of glasses. Been there several times. I get it.. But MUL👏TI👏TASK 👏. Don’t have to watch them when you have a line of customers waiting.Finally try my glasses on and I do not see right. They say it is the frame.. I’m no expert, but after having glasses since 8 years old, I know the drill and I know the adjustment period. There was no adjusting with these.So I have to schedule a refraction to check my vision. All good. They say it should be fine and tweak the axis a bit (which I previously mentioned I needed). Awesome, I’ll just wait for the replacement. Super pumped to finally have glasses. Weeks pass. Get it 3rd week of March, but enter Covid shutdown. I feel like I am looking through a fish bowl. Sweet. Can’t schedule anything and when I finally do (June), they say everything is fine and *I* need to adjust...? Shouldn’t be a 2 month adjustment in my experience. Finally convince them the axis is wrong again, they “fix” it. Still not right, but not as bad and they did not add glare protectant like previously ordered. Plus got them in a week...? (Good, but terribly inconsistent.)If you read this long post, the moral of it is you shouldn’t have to settle for less than mediocre frames and lenses. Especially paying a butt load without insurance.Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

I would advise against going to this business for eye care. I have had two eye surgeries with their recommended surgeon. Neither has been successful. Today I went back for a follow up visit and they had canceled my appointment without telling me, which disruptied my whole day. You are just a number here. They dont seem to care that I cant see street signs or drive at night. Go somewhere else and save yourself the agony I have gone to for the last year.

Dr. Sarah Thompson is a great Dr. and person. She was professional, friendly, personable and she took all the time she needed to make sure I left there with the right fit of contacts. She was able to get me into a newer pair of contacts which previous Dr.s were unable to do. I never felt rushed or like I was just part of a revolving door like I have at other places. I would highly recommend Dr. Thompson.

An eye exam should not take two hours and 15 minutes. Thats how long I was there. From noon until I finally left at 2:15pm on 3/14/2020. When I first got there, I was told I was going to pay $100 something for everything. I asked why so much, I didnt pay that much the last time I was here. So then she looked up the last time I was there and realized I was right and the price came down to $60. After the doctor did the exam, he dilated my eyes and said hed be back in 10-15 minutes. Well 30 minutes later I just opened the door and asked the first staff person I saw, what the hold up was. Im still not sure what the hold up was. The doctor came 10 minutes later to do a final check. Then when I went back to the front to pay, she couldnt print my contact lens prescription, only my glasses one. So we had to wait until the doctor was free, for him to do whatever for it to print. Unfortunately, Ill have to find a new place for my next eye exam.

I tried to make an appointment for an annual eye exam and because my insurance is through Medicaid I was told that I would have to pay out of pocket, even though I was literally referred to them 2 minutes earlier by Medicaid and was quoted by Medicaid that my annual eye exam is covered by insurance. Seriously way to make someone feel like a second class citizen.

If youre going to tell someone over the phone that it will be 140.00 for a eye exam and make a appointment and than have then come down and say its gonna be a 250.00 when I get there and waste my time and gas for coming down there. You should really explain over the phone and ask which exam the person is wants to get. Than you should probably fire the receptionist or have her trained on her job so that people dont waste their time and gas! And for that I give you one star.

Dr. Guo was enthusiastic and kind; he took the time to answer all of my questions and made sure I understood the technicalities of looking inside of my eye. Also, super friendly vision tech explained all of the different tests/what they did/how the information will be used. Additionally, the front office staff made sure I understood what my insurance paid for and how to get the greatest value for my dollar.In the office, I was measured and fitted expertly by Matt. He helped me pick out the perfect frame and looked tirelessly for a frame that I liked AND fit into my budget!Excellent experience from start to finish. A well oiled machine of people who actually like their profession!

I went here for an eye exam and glasses, for my son and I. The exam part went well. I ordered glasses for both of us. Mine came as promised, my sons were a different story. It took a month, to get them, I have never seen it take this long, I have bought many pairs of glasses, and never have seen it take this long, Anyway I plan not to be a return customer, I would have giving zero stars but some how the glasses mysteriously appeared today. Been going here for about 5 years. Excellent service. In the past, I always hated getting my eyes checked, but my doctors humorous and friendly attitude makes my visits very enjoyable! Ive also had excellent service with glasses maintenance. The staff is patient when making fine adjustment / repairs and seem to know a lot more about fashion than me (Ive always been a Ehh, it works kind of guy)..Definitely worth a look (pun intended) if browsing for optometrists.

I went to the Lakewood office and was very happy with everything. The doc was great as was everyone else.One thing to keep in mind: dont call the Vision Care Specialists main phone number. Thats the one they want you to call, but the people there dont know anything and cant help you. Whats worse is that the main office will tell you that you cant dial the individual offices directly. Thats not true. Just look on the Internet, and youll find the phone numbers for the individual offices. Call them directly and youll get immediate help.

High recommend other business. They charged me $250 for 1 pair of trial contacts and for the visit for a new prescription. The doc. told me the undersides of my eyelids were blistered because of extended wear of my old contacts, he didnt suggest or prescribe anything to help me heal the blisters (eye drops) or anything. He then told me to put in my new trial pair of contacts, even though my eyelids were badly blistered! Which caused me to have excessive amounts of pain and sensitivity to light. Then told me it would be another $250 for glasses, and another 350 for contacts! His lack of care and extreme insensitivity was just outrageous

On September 6th, I came in on an Emergency issue with vision loss and saw Angela Haas. She was beyond amazing on getting me in ASAP (within 10 minutes) and listening to my conditions which previous doctors had not. She took time out of her day and schedule to make sure I was ok and even reassured me, I wont let you leave until I feel like youre doing better and ok. She is one of the best eye doctors, and overall doctors, I have ever had the pleasure of working with. 10/10 would recommend her to anyone.

Early this year, I noticed that my right eye had trouble seeing clearly even with prescribed contacts. The doctor I have been seeing outside of VCS was fully booked till February. So I made an appointment with VCS, and Dr. Newman helped me the next day. He told me that my right eyes astigmatism dramatically increased. I told him even with the new prescription he provided, my right eye was still blurry. He ignored my concern and sent me home with the new prescribed contacts to try out. In one or two weeks, I went back and voiced my concern about my right eye not being fully corrected. He increased the power of the contacts and told me that my right eye is a lazy eye that will never be fixed. He said my right eye will always be blurry. I believed him. So I was wearing those contacts he gave me until I went to see my old doctor for second opinion in February.My old doctor gave me a full exam and reviewed the prescription Dr. Newman provided. My astigmatism barely increased from last year. And I DO NOT have lazy eye. My old doctor provided me the prescription that I have had for the last 4 years. My right eye can clearly see without any blurriness. My doctor said the blurriness could be caused by some inflammation early January, and that had nothing to do with my old prescription.It scares me by thinking what could happen if I kept using the prescription Dr. Newman gave me. He could have seriously messed up my eyesight!!! I do think the staff from this location are very nice and friendly. But I do not recommend Dr. Newman. He told me my right had very high astigmatism, which is not true. He told me my right eye is a lazy eye, which is also not true!!!!Thank you for reading my comment. This is a true story that I genuinely do not want anyone else to go through.

Im editing my original 5 star review in light of new events. I truly thought these people/this Dr had my best interest in mind. I BELIEVED them when they told me they couldnt correct my vision further, I believed them when they said I needed to buy allergy drops from them and not the store, I believed them when they told me I should use my insurance towards reading glasses instead of contacts. But after going to a superior eye doctor (down the street) who COULD correct my vision, who gave me advice on which brands to buy to keep my costs down, who realized the reading glasses they sold me really werent helping me at all and who pointed out I couldve bought the same allergy drops I bought from this place for $30 for $11 at any grocery store I realized all they specialize in here ...is sales. I felt so taken. If all that wasnt bad enough, They also contacted me multiple times after my official 5 star review to tell me I owed then more money. Deplorable.

Everyone is friendly, Doctor is ok. Eye exam seems good, complete. My glasses have the complete wrong prescription. Cant see out of them. The optometrist says - yes, theyre the prescription the doctor wrote. Have to start over again with a new eye exam. How does that happen?

I have been going to the eye doctor for 12 years now and know how it is supposed to go. I was rescheduled for my eye exam because they didn’t call my insurance company to verify my exam during the week before my exam like I asked them to. They didn’t call to tell me this, but waited until I got to the office, which was frustrating. Then when I areived for my exam, they gave me the copay price and it was great. When I went to pay, they bumped up the price and I was annoyed but understood that miscalculations happen. After 20 minutes of watching the guy at the front desk try typing in all the information that should’ve have already been typed up, he tried telling me I owed them over $200 more after they told me my contacts were covered by insurance. When I asked why and reminded him of what he had said about my contacts, he told me to calm down. I wasn’t even mad, just confused. I asked i’m not to speak to me like that again since I was a customer and was asking a simple question. I told him I did not want to order contacts and just pay for my exam and he raised his voice at me telling me this was the computer’s fault. All of this happened while other employees watched. Finally someone else came over and told the guy helping me that he had clicked the wrong button the whole time. I was embarrassed, degraded, and treated as if I did not know anything when all I wanted to do was pay for my exam and leave.

My review started earlier this year as a 1 star because of my experience with buying sunglasses from Vision Care Specialists. I would not recommend buying glasses or sunglasses from here, they are significantly less expensive at costco/walmart/warbyparker/eyebuydirectdotcom. Ive added a star every time I have called in to update my contacts prescription and have to say that all along the process the staff has been super nice. They have also done a great job getting back to me and for that Ive raised my review to 4 stars.

I recently moved and am a new patient to Vision Care Specialists. I had an eye exam with Dr. Guo who was very professional & friendly. He made sure to ask clarifying questions and answered all my questions and concerns. Im thrilled to find an office so close to home and that I will feel comfortable going to for future visits. Not only was Dr. Guo friendly, but the rest of the staff was as well. I ordered contacts and when I asked if they could be delivered to the office for me to pick up, they were very accommodating. Additionally, I called for an appointment 2 days prior to my actual appointment. When I went in for my visit, they had already received my insurance information, which made my visit even more convenient.

Review Part 1 After my experience with Vision Specialists, I cannot understand how anyone could rate this place anything above two stars. Yes they will make nice talk but it is just a guise. The initail exam I waited in the exam room for Dr. Guo for nearly an hour after the assistants had performed several different exams. For three of the five return visits, I was subjected to complete re-exams two of those times by multiple people performing the same tests taking several hours each time. Each time I needed to explain over and over the issue being the reading area on the left side of the progressive lenses is drastically in a different place than the right side as the initial and continued issue along with others I will elaborate on in part 2.

Originally I very much liked this place. My eye exam went smoothly and I was helped by a very polite optician who helped me pick out a new pair of frames. After I had chosen my frames I was talked into purchasing an anti-reflective coating for the lenses; an additional $150 added to the cost of my glasses (without insurance). I hesitantly upgraded because the coating was also to act as a protecting barrier for the glass surface of the lens. After a few weeks of wear, I went to put on my glasses and they appeared to have hundreds of horizontal scratches running across the lenses. I took them in and was told that the coating had become detached from the lens and that it happens like 2% of the time. They apologized and offered to reorder the lenses at not cost. Get the call that my lenses are ready, show up, wait about 40 minutes to be seen and then another 20 for the lenses to be fit into my frames, sent on my way.Fast forward 4-6 weeks, the coating detaches again. This time I go in, received no apology and was questioned like I was at fault for this happening again. Well did you leave them in the car? I was asked by the woman at the front desk. While I had not left my DRIVING GLASSES in my car, it would have been nice if someone thought to mention not to do that at any point prior. This time I ask that they reorder the lenses without the coating and that I be refunded the difference.Again I get the call to pick up my new lenses, arrive to find a another 40+ minute wait, check to see if I have been refunded, which I had not, then opt to leave my frames and return later in the week. Today, I went back to get my new, un-coated lenses, STILL hadnt been refunded the difference and one of the new lenses have a scratch on them and will have to be reordered AGAIN. If I werent such a passive person, I would have lost it at this point.I havent received an apology since the very first time I had to go back in and had to ask 3 times, 3 separate people, to be refunded for a faulty product upgrade. Individually, all of the employees seem very nice and professional, however the level of customer service that I have received has been sub-par to say the least. If anything is wrong when I go back in I plan to request a refund for the entire cost of the lenses (which should have already been offered to me at this point). Provided that the issue is finally fixed upon my next visit, I will probably not be going back to this business for any service in the future.

This place is wonderful! Everyone was super helpful and explained everything so well, from the technician (whose name currently escapes me, my apologies) to Dr. Guo to Matt the optician.The technician was very helpful in explaining everything she was doing before it happened, so as to avoid startling me as much as possible. I am a question-asker, and she was quite knowledgeable about what each test measured and happy to explain all that to me.Dr. Guo really took his time and patiently went over everything with me (even when I said, wait, say that again, which happened a few times). He recommended a new type of lens for my glasses (relaxed? is that a thing?) but reassured me that I have a certain number of days (90 perhaps?) to decide whether I like them, and if they dont work out for me, theyll be happy to change them out.Matt picked my glasses for me -- I am well aware of my strengths, and choosing things like glasses certainly isnt one of them! They look great and fit my face and personality perfectly. Ive been back a couple of times to have them adjusted, and everyone is just as pleasant and helpful on round three as they are on round one.Bonus: the office is located right next door to my very favorite bagel place in Denver!

When checking out, they said I owed $40 because of a piece of equipment they used that was not covered by the VA; which was not necessary and they did not tell me of the extra charge.Then they told me to be quit, accused me of lying and threatened to send the collection agency after me...Dont go here if you expect Respect.

The staff and the doctors are friendly and professional. My advice take your prescription and buy your glasses elsewhere. The glasses are a rib off!

Dredging up the year long ordeal raises my blood pressure and isnt good for my health so I have promised my husband that I am going to remain calm, stick to the facts and try not to offer up my strong opinions on this matter. My family and I went in there last year and paid thousands of dollars up front for eye care and eyewear. Among the purchases was a several hundred dollar pair of eyeglasses for my son. There was an astonishing series of misses, missteps, mistakes and defects that delayed the eyeglasses for months. We finally got his eyeglasses but he had them for less than two weeks when one of the lenses fell out of the frames and was badly scratched. They were still under warranty so we brought them back in and a new lens was ordered. Weeks later my son goes there to pick up his eyeglasses, the optician inserts the lens into the frame and the frame breaks. The optician tells my son that LCS will order him some replacement frames and call him when they come in. They never call. I started calling there trying to find out what had happened to the eyeglasses. I was unable to get any answers over the phone after repeated phone calls because I could never talk to the same person. Each time some person would listen to my inquiry about the eyeglasses and put me on hold. Then they or some other person would pull up the year long history of transactions and interactions with those eyeglasses and start reciting it to me, completely unabashed at the abysmal history and always, always unable or unwilling to share with me their record of the final time when the optician broke the frame trying to get the lens in. I drove to the location and spoke to the optician. She was not in a soundproof room so she could not yell at me like she did on the phone but she gave me no new information and I asked to speak with her manager. Another female staff member came out and spoke with me and the optician but she was no help and she wasnt actually the manager. Finally, I speak to the manager. She makes me an offer: LCS will replace the eyeglasses with last years prescription. I counter that last years prescription is useless to my son because he has a disease that causes constant changes to his vision. I suggest that I pay for new eye exams because the family is due for them, they replace the lost eyeglasses with my sons new prescription and they will have spent no more money than their first offer and have my familys business again. The manager declined. I asked to speak with her manager. She told me Carol would call me. Carol called me, but she is not the Lakewood managers manager. Carol is just a woman who works at another LCS branch. She is not a manager at all, but she is a great listener. I told her the story, she said, that sounds like a nightmare, and I really felt like she heard me. Carol should be hired to speak to the customers at the Lakewood branch and the shouting optician should be sent to anger management therapy in the Ukraine. My family has moved on and found another eyewear provider and we are enjoying an abuse free relationship with them.I doubt my family is the only customers for which this branch has provided the opposite of lens care. It stings a bit to be robbed but we can afford to walk away and give another business another $800 to make eyeglasses for our son. It makes me nauseous to imagine that there are probably others out there who gambled and lost with LCS. Hopefully they arent squinting at the blackboard in math class or struggling to read a road sign right now.

If youre from outta state take your business somewhere else. The doctor asked me where i was from🇺🇸, and then asked if i was gonna move back. 😲How passive aggresive. 😅VCS coulda saved some time by posting a locals only sign.😎

Terrible customer service. Needed a quote for a repair. Ashley was unable to provide information so she was supposed to get back with us. After hearing nothing several days later I called back to follow up. Rather than finally getting a quote, I was sent to Ashleys voicemail....4 days later still no information. -- This is unfortunately too often standard american service these days.

Both Dr. K and Hana took the time to give clear explanations of my eye conditions and of the options open to me. They acknowledged that there was a lot of information to take in and encouraged me to take my time gathering information and deciding what options to choose.

Fair warning, dont go here. Contacts were very uncomfortable/ wrong prescription that they fit me to.. They were unwilling to work with me just because I had used old contacts for a month, and apparently thats too long from the initial visit..
