Just had some food at this location Saturday July 18th 5:15 pm. Gentleman at the front counter I didnt catch his name gave me excellent customer service. Above & beyond. Brought out a table for me on the patio so I can eat. This was my first time eating Super Mex. Had the carnitas plate, everything was delicious and fresh. Really loved the rice and beans. Thank you again for the most enjoyable experience for my first time here at Super Mex. Will definitely come again and recommend!
I ordered the carne Asada and chicken enchiladas with red/green salsa and rice and beans . It was so BOMB!!!! Even the fresh salsa and fresh Horchata was delicious .... I definitely took some to go and got some for the family
I normally wouldnt have a negative comment about this Super Mex location because I have ordered a lot of food here. But today I did a take out order for 2 Taquitos combo plates - All Chicken for both. I get home and both combos were BEEF. I will not order from this location again 😔

Taco Tuesday is such a great bargain. The Cypress and Fountain Valley locations both have tasty food and good service. Im sure the quality is excellent in the other locations as well.
My youngest daughters favorite place, but we all love it. Super fresh, reasonably priced Mexican food, where you can dine in, or get it to go. Of course there are Mexican food restaurants everywhere, but everyone I know whos been there loves it. Not sure how healthy the food is... it tastes too good to be good for you! We like the Fountain Valley location because its close to home & the staff is very friendly & attentive.

Food is so delicious . The amount the taste the flavors . The ambient is chill . You can drink beer and do beer to go . The nachos n tacos are my favorite . Im a big boi n well they make big boi food .
I dont know if SuperMex is a franchise or not but this location is not good. The food is nowhere near the real thing, everything was dumbed down, no spice, no authenticity, nada! My burrito had no beans and I didnt say not to put any. No quality control. Might as well eat somewhere else. Adios!
Good food and service! While there is a Super Mex restaurant much closer to where we live, the food here is better, especially the tacos!Service at lunch is exceptionally fast!Prices for food and drink are very reasonable.
My family comes here often, The seating is open, the staff are always very friendly and the food is always consistent and delicious! Love their taquitos and enchiladas. The tacos are good too and my son goes crazy for the burritos. The rice is my favorite, i could eat bowl after bowl of it! I often order some extra to go with my leftovers
Its okay. Service is a bit slow and taste of food is average. I have had much better locally. Don Joses in HB is that much better.

The food here is great. Its also very well priced. The biggest issue though is the wait staff. They failed to put in our order twice and resulted in us waiting 30 minutes for queso. If you eat here, do takeout.
As a person originally from Long Beach and married to a Mexican this was pretty bad. I used to frequent the OG super mex in Long Beach. Salsa had no spice, we asked several times for something spicier, they couldn’t deliver. Also, my Chile verde burrito was incredibly bland with absolutely no sauce. Honestly, for less money we could’ve gone to flame broiler next door. Save your money, this isn’t real Mexican food....it’s awful

I think this is one of the best Mexican food restaurants in the Fountain Valley area + great tasty beers.

Horrible service! Never going back again. Used to be a family favorite place. What happened? What has changed there? Sad. Called in a to go order for crunchy chicken taco and was told it would be ready in 6 minutes. Arrived and there were 2 people in front of me. I saw my order was ready. The cashier would help people then walk away and fill orders even though there were 2 other people there helping her. It took me 20 minutes ro get out of there. My crunchy taco was SOGGY and the food was cold.

The service was great. They appeared to be under staffed. The one young girl was super awesome trying her best to handle the all guest. The other waiters were so slow and had no umph in there step. The food was not great. I didnt realize we went in taco Tuesday. Im Mexican and didnt realize it was a thing, I know weird huh. Im rating this only on the food the salsa was meh and the food was just no flavor. I know it was not going to be authentic but they lost their mojo in way I remember they used to be. Rice, beans were terrible.

Our family has frequented Super Mex for 20 years. Always the best Mexican food around. The salsa, tacos and enchiladas are perfect in flavor, size and presentation. Their menu is great all round.

Weve been coming to this location forever.. always great service, normally busy but never a wait and the food is good. Were big fans of the carnitas plate as well as the enchilada/taco combo. On our last trip we tried the queso and couldnt get enough of it. Highly recommend trying it.
Favorite tex-mex by far! Have been coming since i was a kid. Crispy taco and enchilada combo plate. Chile relleno is good and the beans are great with the hot plate and the melted cheese.
Zero stars. Place was empty overstaffed but yet the bathrooms dirty after receiving my menu it was dirty too. Poor service server seemed to be bothered cause he had to go over the drinks cause there not listed on the menu. Highly Highly disappointing
Burnt chips and salsa tastes out of a can. Burritos mediocre a few chunks of meat and the rest is rice and beans . 8 dollars for a bean tostada not worth it. Many other places out their that offer better quality food at a better price

The chicken for my enchiladas were dry. The rice wasnt much better. My mom ordered abondigas soup, and the vegetables were so big and hard she could not cut them with her spoon.
Not as good as hoped! I was in the shopping center and decided to try this restaurant . I ordered a carnitas burrito and requested easy beans and rice. As soon as I bit into it, it was all beans and rice, They re-made it as I originally requested. This burrito was ok, but it started leaking oil or fat almost as soon as I started eating it. by the timeI got through it, 1/2 my plate had oil covering it from the burrito dripping.I also had the misfortune of some of the oil had dripped on the shirtI was wearing. They also had no discounts for anyone! I eat at Mexican restaurants all the time, but this one I would not return to!

The first Mexican food we had since we left Texas.
From the humble begginings on First and Alamitos, this restaurant chains food has become less and less appetizing with every new opening. Thirty plus years ago it was the only Mexican restaurant to eat at: always fresh tostadas served with an excellent salsa, delicious tacos and juicy carnitas would draw me back week-after-week. Now, I generally stay away because of stale chips, tasteless salsa, horrible frijoles and forgettable rice. NO LONGER A FAVORITE.
