I was on the hunt for a guitar for my 6-year old son. Chris was so helpful. He had a couple of guitars on hand that were reasonably priced. I purchased a stunning red electric guitar. My son loved it and can’t wait to start lessons. (I’ll be reaching out to Chris for lessons as well.)
I had an excellent guitar setup done on my Ibanez Artcore by Kurt, who was professional and kind. I thought the price was fair ($70) and the turnaround (4 days) reasonable. He had great communication and really knows what he’s doing. This is the best place in town for instrument setups hands down.In the photo, you can see how much attention was given to winding the strings. They’re flatwounds and can be fussy, but this detail is a sign of a professional.
The teachers there are top notch and give a real education not just YouTube advice!
My daughter has been seeing Stephanie for vocal lessons close to a year now. She LOVES Stephanie and the time she spends with her! She has always been flexible with rescheduling if school events ever conflicted with lessons. We appreciate that lessons continued virtually as it gave my daughter something to look forward to each week. Once lessons resume in-person she may even consider adding piano or guitar lessons!
My kids have been able to continue music lessons virtually for months now and I love that they have been able to continue to make music even when many other things were canceled! Im grateful for the LMC!
I went in to purchase reeds for my sons clarinet and was greeted very pleasantly and had all of my questions answered. Now my son is going to be getting guitar lessons there.
I brought my Fender Stratocaster in for a setup and Kurt Wright did a fantastic job. Quick turn around time and he took the time to make adjustments based on my playing style. My guitar feels great and sounds amazing. Thank you Kurt!
Ive never been treated more rude at a shop in my whole life. Pretty sure it was the shop owner of all people. Dont waste your time.
I have NEVER been disrespected and talked to in such a condescending manner like I have at this place. I had work done on my acoustic guitar and I wasnt satisfied with the action (string height). Kurt Wright ( the repair guy) right away went on a rant defending his work and knowledge and in doing so talked to me like I was an ignorant child. Kurt and Chris ( the owner)kept looking at each other as if they were in agreement with the way I was being treated or maybe even they knew something I didnt.... I honestly believe that absolutely nothing was done to my guitar and the both of them knew it and thats why they kept looking at each other ... I totally felt taken advantage of. My guitar has the EXACT same action and has the EXACT same fret buzz it had when I took it there. I paid for nothing. Just because someones been doing something for years, doesnt meant that theyre doing it the right way. This is the kind of place that takes advantage of people who dont know any better. Im all for supporting local shops but not if theyre anything like this. Beware of this place.Update 10/8/20 .Chris, In regards to your response, Ive been playing guitar for over 30 years and the action that I wanted was nowhere near unobtainable. Detrimental .... Thats FUNNY 😂😂😂!!! You can tell that nonsense to someone who doesnt know any better but not me. I should of just set it up myself. I acted like everything was fine because I wanted to leave your store because of how uncomfortable the both of you guys made me feel. Kurt needs to learn how to talk to people. I was asking him questions and he said to me What, didnt you listen to what I told you? Nobody is going to talk to me in such a disrespectful manner, especially someone that Im paying my hard earned money to. Your store reminds me of Defioris as it was being ran into the ground by Chip and his kids after the old man died. Im sure Kurt will understand the Defioris reference.Good luck.
Went here for simple guitar repair. Was told by the guitar tech that it should be done In 3 days and he would give me a call if it would take any longer. Over a week and a half pass and no call. I left several messages for him no response.... People I left messages with even said they would see him with in the hour. Finally I got my guitar back that was not fixed and actually was more damaged then when I sent it (he tightened the pickup rings down to the point of cracking). Guitar tech didnt even restring my guitar with the strings provided even though we discussed that. He put on a different brand and gauge. Will never be going back here ever. Basically paid them to break my guitar.
I have had my son in drum lessons here and my 8 year old daughter in guitar - we love this place. They are knowledgable, kind and experienced!
I am a senior and have had a great time attending piano classes for two years at the Lakewood Music Collective. My piano teacher Mike Abbadini has an upbeat nature and is a gifted teacher with a lot of knowledge to share. He assigns me lessons each week that teach me technique. I also work on a musical piece that we have chosen together that I would like to learn. The staff are pleasant and easy to work with regarding scheduling. LMC also has music ensembles, eg, jazz and rock, that students play in. They are a great place to get reasonably priced music lessons. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
My son took piano lessons here and is now taking saxophone lessons. All interactions weve had with his teachers and the staff have been very professional and friendly. We appreciate that LMC came up with a way to handle lessons virtually during the pandemic.
If you need repairs or lessons on the west side this is where you need to go!
Fast and friendly
