Great place to get musical instruments anywhere from pianos to keyboards to violins, and guitars. My brother has a couple guitars from Rockleys which have served him well. My wife just bought a Roland Keyboard from here which was an excellent price for excellent quality!

I drove by Rockley Music today and saw the “STORE CLOSING” sign on the building. I remember going into Rockley music with my parents when I was a kid. My dad still plays guitar and enjoyed going into Spaceman Guitars to see Chris Thomas. When I saw the sign, it concerned me that Spaceman Guitars was closing as well. Thankfully, I found out that they had just moved down the road to their own building located on the north east corner of Colfax and Kipling, right next to Metro PCS. It is sad to see that after almost 70 years Rockley’s is closing their store, but happy to know that Spaceman Guitars is still around for our family, but specifically for my dad because he likes the personal attention he gets from Chris.

Many students had the experience of their life when they heard the great sound and discovered what it could do. many Thanks For allowing students and parents to purchase music. Many families were excited to see all you offer. Kudos to all who made our evening beyond fantastic. All were kind and very helpful.

They have an AMAZING sheet music department. I play the Viola, and, if you do (or have even ever tried to find Viola sheet music) you know its next to impossible to get anything decent for the instrument. The people at the sheet music department are so helpful, they take you to their computer and show you some stuff they have online. They actually will order it for you too. They helped me find some perfect music.Furthermore they have some very nice and helpful employees. They certainly do go above and beyond what a lot of people do. They also dont pressure you to buy stuff, which is a huge plus.Overall, The high prices on accessories is easily solved by going somewhere online like Shar music, and get your sheet music (and rosin) here.

We bought a complementary piano tuning at the silent auction for Jefferson Symphony Orchestra. We received a tuner, who tuned our Wurlitzer console, incredibly, by using only a 440 tuning fork--and his own good technique and hearing. Since it needed to come up, he did a general tune of the whole thing and then went back through to finish up.Since Id not had it tuned before, I had no idea it could sound so good! Being a string musician, I could tell it was in tune when the vibrations became clear on a particular note. That is when he would stop.I was so glad he didnt use a machine to artificially arrange the tones across the spectrum by dividing out from one pitch at the top to one at the bottom, as someone had done for us previously!

No matter what extension you press, nobody answers the phone. Some extensions even say Your call can not be transferred. Please try again later.For all I know they have great instruments at great prices. But they refuse to answer the phone so Ill never know.

I actually am not the biggest music fan but they have so many movies! I go in there to buy all the seasons of my favorite shows. The movies are a great price also! I got season one of Greys Anatomy for $2.99!!! The workers on the sales floor keep to themselves, but the cashiers are always funny! There is also a parking garage next store that Rockley Music Center validates!

Such an awesome place. Cheap for world class quality. The owners are even nice. Their private music lessons are again cheap for the greatest quality. So many options for times because as we all know, especially when school’s in, it gets busy! Lesson times can go as late as 8 PM! Parking’s not a problem either, huge lot. For Piano lessons I highly suggest Joy Knipps. Learned how to play and memorize keys within 1 lesson and sight read staff notes in 3!!Awesome family business!

Wanted to say how I enjoyed working with Scott at Rockley. I purchased two Korg SP-280s. Scott made sure I was aware of all my keyboard options, helped me chose the best piano for my needs and then matched another dealers price for me. The entire experience was a joy. Scott even sang for us-an added bonus!

The piano teacher workshops are always excellent and well-run... great discounts for teachers... wonderful service... special orders... terrific in all regards !

This is the closest music store to my house. What a shame, because I wont go there ever again. I wasnt greeted when I walked through the door. I got a snobby attitude from pretty much everybody, and I had to greet the guy behind the counter because he was too busy playing his guitar. Anyway I went there for some finger tape and some guitar picks. What ever happened to 5 picks for a dollar? Here they charge $5.65 for 12. anyway they didnt have the correct size finger tape for my violin.

All my visits have been very good. You have good people here, they treat customers very well. Thank you for being here.

What has been a wonderful neighborhood store has failed to change with the times. It is sad for me to see. What once was an enthusiastic staff, happy to great you and offer assistance have become sullen and inattentive. I have heard staff and even management blame it on the internet and Guitar Center. Guitar Center didnt lure me in. Rockley Music Drove me there.In this review,I am only referring to the guitar department.

They replaced a bridge on a violin and did it quickly. They really helped me out when I was in a bind. Their price was much lower than the other music shops I called and their turnaround was the next day.

The guitar section has amazing customer service! They also have a great selection of well priced vintage records.

Typical third generation silver spoon gyp. You walk in the door and every employee looks as though your very presence mortally offends them. I literally had to step in front of this particularly pathetic employee as he attempted to scurry away. Once he every so reluctantly showed me to the location of the manuscript paper I was there for, he rudely hurried us to the cash register without a word nor thanks. Sad really, you know the first generation that founded the organization had a very different attitude in their approach to customers and business in general.

Agree with those that have seen this stores decline....used to be great, enthusiastic people that wanted to help you in your musical journey. Now, its almost like helping someone out and making a sale is just troublesome. Did everything I could to get the guy in guitars to work with me on building my pedal board.....needless to say, he made several promises that he forgot about the second i walked out the door. I was practically throwing myself at them, telling them i wanted to buy locally, and they just didnt care. Oh well.PS Since then ive found: Wildwood Guitars in Louisville is great for pedals, as is Music Gear Guys on South Broadway if you want to buy locally. Flescher-Hinton for repairs.

Stopped in to look at pianos. The sales person made this an extremely uncomfortable experience. How do they expect to sell a piano when they dont even like to let customers play them? Its a big purchase, and something you have to try and compare before buying. The sales person kept hovering and telling me prices, implying I couldnt afford them, and even started obnoxiously banging out a tune to drown me out because he didnt like me playing a pricy model. (Im not a pro, but I dont suck, Hehe) Its sad there are so few piano stores left, but unless this one treats potential customers better, it wont be missed.Also checked out string prices for my violin. Dont bother. Try somewhere else or online.
