A GREAT Garage for Auto Repairs... Experienced and Honest !!!

Great business to deal with always able to fit me in and able to get my car done on time always explain all repairs. Will be using them for all my car needs in the future.

I tend to rely on the reviews, which are concerning for this business, but given Gipe is located close to our house when I called them to talk with them, they seemed like good people. After working with them a few times now for inspections and basic service, I have been very happy and will continue to use them moving forward. I would suggest you pick-up the phone and determine if you feel like supporting this local business as I did.

Pro: good location, family owned business seems friendly.Con: estimate and final price may not be same. Feb 12, 2016, I bought a localflavor coupon and didnt pay any extra $. Sept 2, 2020, I used the same coupon but was asked to pay additionally. One day my dashcam recorded they were using my car for a personal purpose, but they didnt tell any.

No waiting area. 3 hrs for inspection. Charged $18 for stickers. On top of $19 local flavor voucher! Dirty, junky place, lots of grease!!

I have been to Gipe Services at least three times for PA inspection and emissions testing, oil changes, and routine maintenance. I try to keep my vehicles in good, safe operating condition. I have never felt pressured or asked to purchase parts or services that I did not specifically need. It is nice to deal with a true family business and not get lost in the shuffle at a mega dealership. There is no customer lounge, coffee, large screen TV or free donuts. Just people servicing vehicles. How about that for a change?

Utilized the discount through groupon, and received my service at a great discount, so I assure you, getting your car inspected for a total of $26 was most definitely NOT a scam. I had to wait for my car so they gave me an appointment time that ensured they would take my car in immediately. My car was done in under an hour. Definitely a place I would use in threw future.

Lured by $15 state inspection, ended with over $1,000 for a two year new car. Was forced to do unnecessary repairs and paid for their mistake.

I always can get in very fast, like within a day. I recommend highly.

I was skeptical at first after reading 1 star reviews. Im glad I didnt take their advice. Family owned. Good vibes. Worked with me to locate the part I needed for $25 instead of the new part priced at $160. I recommend you check them out also.

I thought the Groupon for a $20 inspection would have been a good Idea. Being a mechanic myself for years I knew it would pass. I do a lot of preventative maintenance on my vehicles and I was met with a very unreasonably high estimate to fix things that didn’t need fixed. So they failed it and I got it inspected somewhere else.

Very disappointed and misrepresented pricing. They quoted me 4 tires including balancing and mounting. They overcharged me $5.00 per tire PLUS $100.00 to put them on! Gave me a price of $18.99 for oil change and charged me $29.95. They said I misunderstood and they did not say that! Totally false. Please make sure you get all pricing in writing before you have the work done! The bill was over $120.00 more than quoted.

Used deal for inspection on a 7yr old civic. Failed inspection due to brakes. After a good discussion and showing me the pads and rotors first hand, they were right. I fixed brakes myself and they did the re-inspection at no extra charge. Most places there is a fee, however, they understood where I was coming from and put the customer first! Also recharged and filled my A/C at a reasonable price. Last note, I read the previous reviews that were negative and I agree customer service could be a little more positive, but in the end I didnt get charged any more than I paid...

I have had three inspections and one major repair done by these guys over the course of three years. They are responsible, honest and very competitively priced. Highly recommend.

Weve had two interactions with Gipe Services, both of which have been negative. Weve always felt that people/places deserve a second chance, but when theyre given a second chance it should be a better experience than the first....NOT the case with Gipe Services. Both interactions we were told their credit card machine was not working and we would need to pay cash/check which we find ridiculous! Both times they were able to charge us extra for things we didnt ask for and all the reviews weve read indicate that they always find something that needs to be fixed. That was our first time there, and the second time was with a new car so they topped off fluids at a cost of about $20, which is outrageous! We would caution anyone looking for a reputable garage/mechanic to steer clear of Gipe Services!

Great family owned business

Had a Groupon. Passed inspection. Quick. Later, my heat wasnt very hot. They replaced the motor cheaper than any other quote I got. They showed me the part old part-time it was indeed broken. That was a year ago, an its still blowing hot .Will be going back for inspection soon.

Was skeptical based off reviews AFTER I purchased double take deal. Took my chances and happy I did! These guys are awesome! Did not drag me through the ringer with unnecessary charges! Even gave me a few extra months on my inspection!

Wonderfully friendly people! I had never used Gipe before, but booked a last minute oil change ( with a coupon!) after my boss recommended them. They got me in right away, did a check on my car and noticed some other issues which they took care of, and the price was very modest. When I wasnt sure if I could make it over before they closed they brought my car to me! I would highly recommend them and I will definitely be using them from now on!

Tried to pull one over on me because they thought a was a stupid 17 year old. So I took my car to the shop my uncle just started at after this POS told me I needed $500 worth of work to pass my inspection. He also told me my brake pads there great which they aren’t. My car passed at my uncles shop only needing a new wiper blade. I also left some change in my cup holder to see if these guys would take it and of course they did. DO NOT GO HERE!! It was a waste of $20.

Only people that give this place 4-5 stars are family members & friends, SMH

I have a Nissan Frontier. These people wanted to charge me $1,600.00 to get front/lower ball joints done on both sides. After thinking about it, I decided to take it to another shop and have him give me a second opinion. He put it up on the lift and found there was nothing wrong with my truck(go figure!!) he said all I needed was inspection. Very disappointed in the dishonesty. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

Recently used the $20 Groupon Coupon and they did a great job.Wes and Cody Gipe were very friendly and kind.Had my car inspection done perfectly.Wes even showed me on how he passed all the tests like the treadwear etc., Fixed one of my vipers for a less price which was actually broken. So, great service and keep it up.Five stars for these kind guys.

I was concerned about the reviews but the guys were up front and let me see for myself what needed done. I did the 19.99 offer and passed. I’m taking my car back there to have the work done. The only negative is that they like cash or check instead of CC which is hard if it is an expensive fix

They lure you in with a cheap Groupon then nit pick in order to charge more. When I got home to fix issues I found items they listed absolutely untrue. Worst part is once you get a sticker for passed emission and not for a failed safety (even if they failed you for false reasons) other shops are hesitant to look. Also after fixing items on your own they go out of there way to blow you off for re-inspection

They are dishonest people and they have many professional ways to steal people by coupons with 19 dollars for state inspection to attract their victims and after that make them fail to ask for fix anything for a lot of money. I have one year old car (2014) it had nothing before they inspect it and after I dropped it off it failed for wipers which was good before I dropped off the car and after I received it I found out that they cut 1/2 inch of the wiper to ask me for 40 dollars to change it!!!- they are thievesanother car they changed the oil cap of Toyota with oil cap of Honda, I found out that in the next oil change and this cost me 17 dollars for new one. They are thieves, be away of them

Great service! Friendly staff! I got the groupon from them for a car inspection. They discovered that I needed to replace my front brake pads and rotors and gave me a fair price and with my permission, Gipe Services did the work. I asked to see my old brake pads and rotors and they were indeed in bad shape and needed replacing. I knew the front brakes were in bad condition because when I got my tires replaced at a Tire shop in Lancaster a week before, they also confirmed that I needed new front brakes.When I asked if there was anything nearby shops I could look at while my car was being inspected, they even offered to drive me to Park City!Gipe Services even taught me about the brake pads and the condition they would be in.

One star is being generous! Worst service center... unorganized and SLOW to say the least! 3 hours to change the oil and inspect my vehicle is ridiculous! Called to verify my appointment the day before and they had yhe wrong appointment time because of their disorganization. They both literally sat in the office most of the time rather than servicing my vehicle. I discourage anyone considering to bring their vehicle here! They tried I charge me $28 for a brake light on top of it all

I was also a bit apprehensive to go here based off misc reviews but was very happy that I did! Dropped it off in the morning and it was only 2 hours when they called. My truck passed everything. They suggested a few unrelated things but did not force me to take their advice. They were totally content with my choice to not have them do the additional things. Went in and picked it up and had a short conversation with some of them and they were very nice and very responsible.REMEMBER: for every bad review, there are 100 good experiences that were never reported.

I was hesitant to try them based on their reviews... however I am glad that I did. They did a great job, and and they were very helpful. When they identified a problem, they invited us down to see the car up on the rack. There was in fact rust, as they said. I dont know what kind of cars the other reviewers took there, but ours were an 09 avenger and a 2013 sorrento. They were nothing but professional, courteous, and helpful.

Instead of working to improve their own business, these guys spend their time harassing the surrounding businesses and customers. Pathetic. I wouldnt get any work done here if my car broke down right in front of the garage.

CROOKS! Do not go to them... not even for the group on deal. They will fail your inspection and find excuses to try to charge you hundreds of not more for things that do not need done or do not require the parts they say it does. Just read the other reviews! This business will fail.. dishonesty and BS! Dont waste your time. Take the group on and go to Pepboys. They will match the price.

Never take my car here again my car was there for 5 months. Never called me to give me updates of what’s going on with my car. Drove it there now they say it doesn’t turn on. The one star it’s because I bought a brand new car. Should of did that in the beginning with all the money I gave them it added up to a new car anyways. I had to junk my car because of them.

After inspecting my car I called back to get an estimate on how much it would be to fix my steering wheel. They guy said I’ll call you back I need to check how much the part is and never called me. It’s been two weeks. And tell me why I used the groupon but I still had to pay some money out of pocket? Wasn’t listed on my receipt why I had to pay more. Bad service.

I purchased a Groupon from them... $20 for emissions, inspection, rotation, oil change, and A/C check. Note- they dont service the ac with the groupon, they just check it and let you know what you will need if you want to have it fixed.I dropped my car off, they called to let me know what it needed/what they were doing and how much it would cost BEFORE they did anything, so I was not surprised later with any charges.I have a 2002 Subaru with 240k miles on it. I knew it was time for new tires, but beyond that, the car runs fine. I took it to Gipe, they said it would only need new tires to pass inpection, so they threw some on, and off I went. Reason Im saying this is Ive been to places that will tell you you need your dipstick replaced every 6 months... I didnt get that vibe from these guys. They told me what I needed, got it done same day, told me what could wait, and about how much I can expect to pay. All for $20. Definitely recommend!Plus the woman at the counter was super friendly. Very personable and polite! She explained everything on the receipt

Groupon Deal $20 for over $200 of work is a scam. Do not purchase if you think youre getting all of that for $20. They called me back with a ridiculous estimate and I would have to pay to get it re-inspected since it failed. Most will not charge for a re-inspection. I will never go back to Gipe services and I recommend you all do the same. Take heed, its a scam!

Please dont let the negative reviews fool you. I too bought the groupon for $19.99. Before I even got my car to Gipes I knew i might be needing new brakes. However, I did not bring that to their attention. They were booked when i called in to drop off, but they were so nice to accompdate me. I got a call later telling me my car overall was great, but encouraged me to get new front brakes. They did not rip me off! I had already knew this. Had this been a shady shop they would have added to the list. They gave me a phenomenal price, and had my car done before the end of the day. The lady at the front desk was so incredibly nice. She went over my warranty and told me if i have any issues to call them back. One of the young mechanics saw me waiting to be checked out, and greeted me and got my stuff ready while i waited. Little things like that matter. I know nothing about cars but I felt good leaving my car there. This is definitely my repair shop moving forward. I strongly recommend them.

Shoddy service at a premium. I wouldnt recommend them to my worst enemy. Theres a reason they have so many 1 star ratings- take it from the people who have experienced it.

Do not even bother going here even for the simplest things. I was a customer here for over 2 years with just one vehicle that vehicle needed a lot of work done and I was willing to pay. During the two years of this vehicle sat in his lot I paid him over $5,000 and nothing( I mean nothing) was done to the vehicle other than old Parts removed without new parts being replaced. I got totally scammed out of all of my money and left there with my vehicle in worse condition than when I gave it to them. I hate to talk bad about a company unless I have a serious problem but it needs to be said because I dont want anyone else being taken advantage of if you are deperate for work or broken down in the area you are taking a Gamble going to his shop. But I would not at all recommend any big jobs that take more than an hour to complete because your car will be there for weeks to months. It was not easy to get ahold of anyone to try to progress work on the vehicle and every time he said I will do this next week I would always get the run around about how something came up. I just dont want anyone making the same mistake I made ($5000) is a lot of money to spend for nothing. Still considering getting a lawyer be careful

If you want an extremely anal detailed inspection this is the place to go. They are overly anal but they do and extreme expertly good job and will not let anything go

*DO NOT PURCHASE GIPES GROUPON DEALS*I purchased two Groupon offers for State Inspections for Gipe on 12/27/17, and was only informed afterward by this business that they no longer honor Groupon vouchers. I am currently waiting on a $40 refund.As of 12/30/17 Gipe is still offering false deals on Groupon.

Dont fall for the free inspection. Took it there for a free inspection with coupon, of course they found things wrong with it. I paid $500 to get those things fixed. Well since one of those things was emissions I had to drive it around for the computer to reset so they could rerun emissions. They told me to come back for a FREE RECHECK. First I had to wait a week to get it retested when I was already passed inspection. Then when I took it there to rerun emission, I had to pay for inspection this time since I drove it off the lot they said. They said they had to retest everything. What a load of crap, they already ran inspection and passed it after they fixed the muffler but I just had to drive the car around to get the mileage on it so they could rerun emissions. And even told me it was going to be a free recheck. That has nothing to do with inspection. The inspection had already passed! Oh and surprisingly the retest of everything only took 30 minutes. Wont be going there again and I wouldnt recommend it. Typical money hungry auto garage. Oh and they charge $2.99 for shop supplies. Are you kidding me? Thats part of running the business, not to charge the customers.

DO NOT take your vehicle to Gipe Services. It should be called; Gyp Services!I bought a Groupon to get an inspection, and oil change for $20.00.To begin with I had appointment that I set up 2 weeks ago. I dropped the van off yesterday morning and a few hours later I get a call telling me that it most likely will not be done by the end of the day since they are behind. I tell them I need it it by the end of the day and if it wont be done then I will sit and wait for it after my daughter drops me off on her way home from work. I called at 4 to see if it was done and was told that it didnt pass inspection due to so many problems, and I had to be there by 4:30 since they were leaving early. So first they make it sound like they are so busy they cant get my van done, and then all of a sudden they want to leave early.I get there at 4:50 and am handed a paper with a long list of things that are wrong. And then all of a sudden there was an additional charge of $5.69 that needed to be paid.I was furious and called my regular Mechanic who told me to bring it in this morning. As it turned out most what I was told needed to be done was a lie!I did see someone else said in a review that they were told that their new windshield wiper was ripped and they replaced it for a ridiculous amount of money. Lo and behold the same thing was on my list and guess what....NO rip, among so many other things that they lied about.The place looked shady to me to begin with, but I took a chance and left the van anyway. I only wished that I had looked up their reviews before buying the Groupon a month ago. I decided to look up reviews after the phone calls....ugh! Who knows if they even changed my oil!I go to Kims Cars Southside in Manheim for all of my van work normally. And that is the only place that I will ever go to again. They are always honest and wont do work that is not necessary just to make a buck!The only reason I bought the Groupon was because I had a coupon for an additional discount and wanted to save some money. Never again!Please read all of the bad reviews that they have gotten and stay away!

RIP OFF! Bought a Groupon ($20 for Emission, State Inspection and Oil Change). My wife warned me that theyll try and get their money back somehow. Shortly before I was due to pick up my Expedition, they called to tell me they had to fail my Inspection because all 4 struts were bad... of course theyd be willing to replace them and then pass me. I called my Ford Dealer, where I had just gotten a major service 58 days prior, and they said there is no way all off them were bad enough to fail inspection. The Ford rep looked through all the notes and pulled up the paperwork of where the mechanics inspected the struts and they all looked fine. I can see if 1 mysteriously went bad and they suggested replacing the set (both rear or both front), but all 4 enough to fail? Nope. Checked out the other reviews and noticed similiar experience from others... bummer, but Im only out $20 (which got me an oil chance and Emisisons). Nice try Gipe.

The worst. They use groupon deals etc to lure you in. I went to them for inspection, without permission they started replacing brakes I had already done. Told them to stop and Id pick up my car. The following year I went to do my brakes... the bolts were loctited in.Do not use.

Tried to charge me more than $100 for putting on new wipers and a light bulb (I drive a Hyundai, not a brand-new Mercedes...), and also told me I needed all new brakes and rotors - another mechanic (who I know and trust) said nope, just front brakes. They would have charged me almost $700, and instead we did the front brakes for just the cost of parts at less than $100. Werent open when they said they would be, closed early even after telling me multiple times it would be fine to pick up the car about ten minutes before their business hours are listed. Unprofessional all around.

I recoment you never take a Jetta there. We had a free inspection coupon and got burned. The emission failed. He said to bring it back and he would put it through again so we could get a failed sticker for $150. He wound up over charging us $74.45. I understood that he was going to actually try to fix the problem, but he did nothing of the kind. Apparently he was trying to pay off his expensive equipment and we were guine pigs.

Horrible service and deceptive advertising. They charge you way too much and find everything wrong with your vehicle. I just had a mechanic a month ago tell me that other than windshield wipers, my car would pass inspection. I took it to these clowns and they give me an $800 bill to pass inspection. Absolutely absurd. And dont fall for their double take deals. They have to put those things out for a reason: no one would come to them otherwise.

These fellas were amazing. All around pros.
