How rare to give a positive review of a company without adding the word “however” or “but”! – yet here it is: this review of City Fence is 100% positive!City Fence recently completed installing a beautiful ornamental iron fence and gate for my family’s house, and every step – from first contacting the company to have someone come out to give an estimate to the final installation, the fence pole toppings – was a beautiful, enjoyable, and satisfying combo of customer service, quality installers, excellent materials quality, and transparent communication. One expects that “however” or “but” to pop up somewhere to dampen an otherwise positive experience, however none ever came around.There was the estimate – always the first step. Our yard was examined; my wife and I went over various shapes, sizes, and materials for the fence and gate; we selected one; and a price estimate and installation date were given. This was all settled within a few days.Of course, COVID’s impact on the supply chain extended the installation date by 2 months, certainly not the company’s fault. Our pleasant surprise: throughout these 2 months the company president not only kept us informed of the latest status on our fence but at the company’s expense a temporary fence was installed. This was customer service at its finest!The day finally came to begin the permanent fence installation, and here again City Fence was impressive before the first hole was dug! The fence installers cleared away all the brush and small nuisance trees, not a small task as our yard is rather large. Materials were then unloaded, and over the next few days that picture of a fence started coming alive, and the quality of materials was excellent and the quality of workmanship installing the fence was superb. When the fence and gate were finished they blended nicely with our house and the landscaping of our yard.The money spent and the months waiting were nicely countered by the overall satisfying experience we had with City Fence. It is that rare company which delivers beyond what it promises, and my wife and I fully recommend it.

After a recent windstorm, my back fence was damaged and I went looking for a fence. When I called City Fence they said no problem (most that I called said No or couldn’t come out until October). Tom and Edward came out and cleared out all of the old fencing and starting putting in the new stuff. By the time everything was done, I had a fence that looks great and is safe for my 2 year son. The previous fence was only 5 years old and already cracking and falling down, before the storm. Thanks City Fence and especially Edward and Tom!!!

Nice fence line, but the gates never shut correctly since day one. I was expecting trouble free gate shutting.Yeah, I called and they wanted $100 plus to fix a problem from day one, past the 5 year warranty. So obvious the gate post were incorrectly set, hinges adjusted to limits, marginal gate shutting turned to complete failure.

My husband and I are so, so thrilled with our new fence! After 35 years of having beautiful trees behind our home, they were all cut down and apartments were put in. It was horrible! Then John Hewson came to the rescue. We knew we wanted something tall to block these apartments. We took a ride over to City Fence and saw there great selection of fencing. We were able to get a variance for an 8 foot fence. I sort of knew what I wanted and John came to the house, actually three times since I kept changing my mind, and gave us the fence that we wanted. Its beautiful! His crew put up 144 feet of fence...80 feet was 8-foot tall, board on board, the rest 6-foot tall, board on board. We actually considered moving because of the apartments, but the fence gave us all of the privacy that we needed and wanted. Corey and Ryan were amazing...great workers!!!! Extremely pleased! Had a large section of wooden fence replaced with vinyl. It was completed in a timely fashion, by two very hard working guys! Had a wooden fence installed several years ago. Fence has been excellent, until a tree limb fell from a neighbors tree onto the fence during a storm. The company came out and repaired the damage. Spanning the past 30 years, I have contracted business with City Fence on several occasions. My home is situated on an idyllic, very private 13 acre wooded property easily within walking distance to Main Street East Aurora. I custom designed & subcontracted both my home as well as the surrounding landscape. As such I am admittedly quite particular in my expectations relative to the value I receive when working with residential contractors. City Fence has without exception always met or exceeded my expectations. I have always found the City Fence team from design to installation to be very professionaland always having an attentive ear in understanding my particular wants and needs.

Thanks for an old job done well. We have some friends over for a barbecue this weekend. One of my friends was telling me about his fence that was learning over and falling apart. He was upset because he said it was 4 years old. He said my fence looked pretty good, but it was really gray from weathering. He had a hard time believing it was 12 years old until he took a close look at it. He said the boards were about twice as thick as his fence, and he then said it looks like it will last another 12 years. He said had quote from you guys. It was a few hundred dollars more, and thought he would save himself some money. He was so mad at himself. Thanks again.

I purchased 25 posts and 48 rails for a split rail fence that I was installing. Their staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Every rail and post was in excellent condition. I would use City Fence for my next fencing project.

A friend who owns quite a few rental properties recommends City Fence for their products and their excellent fence installation services. But we prefer to go the DIY route and build things ourselves. It turns out that City Fence also sell fencing panels and supplies to DIY homeowners like us. They have a much broader selection of fences than the big box stores. and their wood panels and vinyl panels all come with a lifetime warranty. We showed them a rough sketch of our yard dimensions and they estimated exactly how many panels and supplies we would need. They also gave us a lot of advice on digging substantial footers for the posts and how to set them vertically. We highly recommend City Fence.

HORRIBLE SERVICE, these people dont know how to communicate with a customer. they do not have any respect for the propertys they work on. THEY WILL RUIN YOUR YARD. do not do business with them unless you want to spend thousands to fix the job they did. this company does not take responsibility for any of THEIR MISTAKES.

They would rather cut corners to get the job done quickly, instead of taking into account different variables and taking time to ensure the job is being done to the degree of excellence that a paying customer deserves. Any other respectable company would be ashamed to put their name on this trash of a job. I expected quality service from experienced professionals and instead received nothing but headaches from a group of arrogant and incompetent people. The fence blew down at the first sign of a wind storm. Complete and utter waste of time and money. Do yourselves a favor and look elsewhere

Terrible!!! It took 3 weeks to sign a contract for a gate. We were promised a 7 week wait, but it took the company over 15 weeks to install just the posts for our gate. Every time we called for an update, we were told they were going to install the gate that week... but never did. It took about another month and hiring a lawyer to complete the work. The completed work was not done right, so we had to keep calling and have them come back twice more to fix the issues. Just awful.

I paid a deposit for a fence and they took over 2 months to just get the fence in then would only spend 2-3 hours a day working on it prolonging it another 2 months. Absolutely horrible experience . Do not go here . Im so dissapointed. Owner told me to leave them alone and that im annoying. Never met ruder company.

We called City Fence for a quote. They came and did our measurements at least two weeks ago. They told me they needed a day or two to put our estimate together. After a week and a half, I called for an update. I had to leave a message with the person who did our measurements, as he was out of the office. I did not receive a call back. We have since reached out to other fencing companies and they had no issue providing us with a quote on the spot or a couple of days later. Definitely disappointed in our experience with City Fence.

Called for an estimate. Sales person didnt show, said he forgot. Then he cold called me about 2 weeks later and was insistent (and nasty) he would not give me an estimate until I showed him the survey for my property. I told him I would get the survey to them if I decided to use them but no other company has required a survey for an estimate.Very difficult to deal with!!

THE ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE IVE EVER HAD i had them install a fence in my house and they destroyed my back yard left cigarette butts and beer everywhere and the fence was crooked!
