We recently upgraded my daughters oboe and the staff was super helpful. She educated me on the proper care of the instrument and made sure we had what we needed in future. Pleasant, easy experience.

My husband and I went in with our daughter and were looking at purchasing 1, possibly 2 guitars. No hello when we walked in the door. There were 2 people working, a man and a woman. We spent 20 minutes looking at guitars trying to use the internet to discern the differences between what was available. Not one time did anyone approach us. Not a word was said. As we walked out still nothing. My husband said thanks for all your help and the guy said sure any time. We will shop elsewhere.

I purchase almost all the music for my piano students at Menchey. They have a wide selection of teaching methods and many extra supplemental books. Service is always friendly. I would highly recommend for your music needs.

Decent prices and they have a lot of options.

The workers there were very helpful and kind, especially the young woman there. While their overall selection on guitars and basses wasnt large they still had a solid selection of both from good brands.

I’m relatively new to the Lancaster area and was in possession of 2 acoustic guitars in need of repair. I googled guitar repair and found Menchey Music. I decided to take one of the guitars in and see how that worked. At the shop, the person I engaged with was very knowledgeable about what I needed done. I also discussed the strange problems (showed her pictures) with my second guitar and was assured that they could fix it. I was told my first guitar would be picked up from their shop on Monday and I would get a call from the repair person that day with an estimate. This all happened perfectly. A few days later I received a call saying my repaired guitar was ready for pickup. I picked it up and it is now Perfect! My next task is to drop off my second guitar for its repair.

Extremely helpful and friendly employees! Purchased a digital piano through their assistance. Great selection of Yamahas. I’ve played on an acoustic for over 20 years and the staff guided me to the best digital for my needs. Also very prompt delivery! Will definitely continue to shop Menchey for my music needs!

I bought a ukulele, and I could not be more pleased. Grant and Anna were both fantastic. They were patient and extremely helpful with no sense of pressure. They helped me decide on an instrument based on my needs, and helped me find the right accoutrements. Shopping at Menchey is always a pleasure.

Brought my son in to pick up his school instrument. I had my 4 year old with me. The lady who took our information to fill out the necessary forms for rental was so patient. After we were finished she even bright a few instruments my 4 year old wanted to see. Super cheap rental prices and great staff! Highly recommend.

Such a nice place to visit for someone who doesnt know anything about music because when you step through the door you are greeted with a smile and immediate helpful advice from Robbie. He knew exactly what I needed and boy was I thankful for that since I had no idea what to get. Such a relief. My girls are doing great with the piece they picked out of their books. Our eldest son has been taking guitar lessons here for about 2 years. His instructor Joshua is excellent. The progression our son has made under his tutelage is awesome.Our youngest son rents a cello from Menchey. The rental service has been easy and hassle free.The staff at Menchey have always been extremely pleasant and helpful with general musical questions right down to specific guitar/cello product questions. It’s nice to speak to a musician who is knowledgeable and friendly.

The staff at Menchey Music was very knowledgeable and accommodating. We were making an investment purchase of an intermediate euphonium for our son. I appreciated the time the staff took to help us select the best instrument for my son’s current ability and future musical growth. They brought an instrument in from another store for him to try but did not pressure us to make a purchase. Staff was able to answer all of our questions and we felt confident we purchased the right instrument for our son’s needs. EXCELLENT sheet music selection!!! I went in looking for sheet music arranged for piano, but I saw they had a great selection for a wide variety of instruments as well. As most music shops nowadays seem to carry few (if any) physical books of music, I was thrilled to see shelves full of it at Menchey Music. They offer arrangements from diverse genres and sell books varying in length from one single to a large collection of songs. This discovery made my day when I went in yesterday!I didnt get to peruse much more of the store in-depth, but I did see the large piano section (not that its easy to miss) and various other instruments/musician gear that looked great. The two people staffed (ha! Get it?) yesterday evening were very personable and helpful, and clearly highly knowledgeable about music and instruments themselves.So anyways, maximum thumbs up to Menchey Music! I look forward to my next visit already :)

I had an absolutely fabulous experience in my recent, surprise purchase for my son. Robby was excellent on providing his feedback on the trumpet options that met my requests as well as allowing our private music teacher try out the options to determine the best choice for my son. Gail was amazing at figuring out the best way to allow me to continue to rent the current trumpet and still use our accrued credit toward our purchase.August is the bigger trade in month. Went to Mencheys seeking help with my steel drum projects after stopping at another local music store that had no interest in helping. The staff at Mencheys was more than willing to help. They took the time to educate me on different microphones and made suggestions that can help me with my application. Very informative, knowledgeable and willing to help.

Menchey Music is a wonderful establishment! Joel Menchey has been very kind to our school....we have purchased many pianos from him and he was very generous in supporting our first ever fundraiser by donating a piano for us to use for our faculty and students to perform on. My family is in the middle of a renovation and decided to have our piano restored while we moved. I checked with Menchey for a keyboard rental, and after 20 minutes in the store left with a really nice, new rental keyboard (including stand and bench) for my kids to continue lesson practice until back in our home. I am only sad we did not check with Menchey earlier!

Purchased the Yamaha NU1X Avantgrand. Staff was helpful and well informed. Their piano movers did an excellent job getting the piano up two flights of stairs.

My daughter has been taking piano lessons for about a year with Janelle Pabon and has had an amazing experience! Prior to these lessons, my 9 year old daughter has had no musical experience and now plays 2 other instruments. Janelle Pabon is extremely professional and flexible with her students. I would highly recommend her and this location.

I have rented an oboe from Menchey’s for almost a year and was having problems with the oboe I rented. They fixed it every time and after 4 times helped me upgrade for just 2.00 more per month. The warranty is totally worth the money and the staff are super helpful!

I am a sitar player and my instrument was damaged. Specifically, the gourd had gotten a hole in it after an accident. To be honest, I had doubts that Craig (Mencheys repair person) could fix it due to the sitars uncommon-ness. However, talking with Craig he seemed very confident and that confidence was well-placed! He did an amazing job with my sitar and it is back sounding as beautiful as ever! If you need an instrument repaired, Menchey Music has experience in repairing a wide variety of instruments as demonstrated in my sitar repair and I highly recommend their services!

I always wanted to learn how to play the piano and now that I am retired, I felt the time was right. When I found that Linda Rasmuson was offering adult group piano lessons I knew that would be perfect for me. She is a fun, talented teacher bringing a lifetime of expertise to the class. Menchey’s offers the perfect setting. Group lessons make it fun and are more affordable than one-on-one classes. I am amazed at how much I have learned. Especially when I consider how little I knew when I started. I would recommend these classes to anyone regardless of your level.

Absolutely horrid repair. Sent in my saxophone to remove a dent and replace a lost screw and it came back with an unplayable piece of metal. When we tried to communicate back to Menchey they were rude and completely ignored us. Try some other stores, or even repair stuff yourself, it will turn out better.
