Amazing food that is easy to order online. I had the chicken shawarma with garlic sauce and I always get extra sauce because of how delicious it is. The food keeps really well when you get it to go, and makes your car smell amazing.

We loved eating here! My falafel sandwich with baba ganoush and tahini sauces inside was to die for. So satisfying. We came to eat at 11 AM on a Friday and there was only one other customer, so the wait time wasnt long. The man behind the counter was very friendly and patient as we decided what to order. You can also buy a wide variety of grocery items from the Mediterranean area, as well as fresh baklava, hummus, and bulk olives!

I had the Taste of the Mediterranean for a light and satisfying lunch today. It was ready ahead of the time the website said, was really delicious and they gave me LOTS of pita which is amazing bc I can’t get enough pita. I’ll be back for sure

I absolutely loved everything about this place. The man preparing food was polite and patient and made our falafel fresh in front of us, smiling the entire time. I love the humble sweetness of the restaurant. The kind of place where the food speaks for itself and is the main draw. Everyone coming in seemed really psyched to be there. It was delicious. I could have only eaten half, the portion was so generous, but it was so good I couldnt stop. Cant wait to go back.

Nice small market with middle eastern/mediterranean groceries. Good selection of refrigerated items too. Small dining area with a tasty selection of fresh made sandwiches and entrees.

Ive been eating gyros for a long time, but apparently not good gyros! I had a gyro and pistachio baklava and I cant stop thinking about how GREAT they were!!! I will be back!!!

That this place reviews as well as it does blows my mind. Mind you the food is not bad, it’s just largely pre-prepared at best (out of a box at worst) and represents what is essentially “first-wave” Middle Eastern, the Middle Eastern food your parents ate when it was a novel cuisine. Now, fresh cooked is not only a must, it’s common, and this place has not caught on (note my pic of the likely boxed falafel they sell - dry and pretty hard). The place in the gas station on 23rd blows this spot out of the water. No hate intended, just stunned that people haven’t caught on.12/20: Per the owner’s reply, I ordered off the main restaurant menu via Grubhub and reiterate/stand by my review.

It was a typical friday, no a typical friday afternoon at the mediterranean market and cafe, i was getting my cheese fries and my gyro, I had just woken up from my thursday hangover. So Delectable. not until 12:50pm when I was shooed away, still munching through my pita. I carefully snuck around back to watch through the window. To my surprise it was a mediterranean baby worshipping ceremony. So bizarre, I guess they needed all that mayo for something. anyways, now I know why the mediterranean market and cafe, closes at 12:50pm. God bless and good night.

This is a great place for middle east food! I was blown away by the variety of products in the grocery section. The take out chicken shawarma was fantastic as was the feta and olive salad. You wont be disappointed by this place. And, owner (I think he was the owner) was very nice and extremely helpful.

Gryo and soup was good but the salad was $12 and came with lettuce two olives, two cucumber slices, and two tomato slices. The falafel came with 3 pieces and it was $8 so overall it was good but overpriced for what you get.

Talk about a hidden gem! If you don’t know this is here, then do yourself a favor and seek it out! The take/out food is to-die-for and you can find some kitchen ingredients you might not find elsewhere. Places like Mediterranean Market make Lawrence a fuller place to live, a place more like the east coast where joints like this are commonplace. Lawrence is lucky to feature this establishment!

Food is good. The grocery aisle is pretty stocked. Hours are the only thing I could complain about. Drove up a couple of times just to notice they’re closed. Make sure to check before heading their way.

Since I moved to Lawrence from Washington, D.C., six months ago Ive been craving a good gyro. Theres a place in downtown Lawrence that markets itself as a Greek restaurant--dont bother. Its Greek food is about as Greek as Taco Bells Mexican food is Mexican. Mediterranean Market is the real deal, though. The gyros were excellent, complete with onions and tzatziki, and reasonably priced ($6.00 and change per gyro). If youre looking for good Greek in Lawrence, this is where you should look.

Got a gyro so good I had to buy TWO! Dude working the counter was super friendly and told me that the meat is made fresh daily.

My review is only for the market, although it has a good selection but a couple of times I noticed that the food was expired. Its a small grocery store you can keep an eye on the expiration dates easily!

I dont live in Lawrence, but will be making trips here for the food! SO DELICIOUS! My grandmother used to make some of the items that I had when I was little. My great grandfather came from Syria in 1911 and this was like my childhood on a plate!

The food is delicious. The pita is very good. But its quite pricey for what you get. Also, the grocery is priced very high compared to competition.

Second time!! Its worth to write a review now. Expired products, bad customer service, and cheap lies not to accept a return or an exchange. I wouldnt trust their food either. Make sure to check real expiration dates on the products. The owner is very lovely and friendly while buying but he will show his real face when you return it. And fake reviews are obvious. I got the chicken shwarama on hummus - so good!! The market has excellent bread options back in the freezer, too. The Naan I picked up was yummy.

Place to taste arabic food. Zabiha meat and chicken are also available and teasonably priced. The manager and and his staff are courteous.
