All of the ice cream is absolutely delicious!! From the strawberry, oreo, lemon cookie, & praline to the adult strawberry margarita & honey bourbon! The owners are as sweet as the ice cream too which made our experience a true JOY!!

I really enjoyed my first visit to my new FAVORITE ice cream shop. even with a small crowd the staff was friendly, helpful and offered great conversation along with my endless request for samples. I got the almond amaretto ice cream over the waffle with caramel, whipped cream and topped with waffle cone chips - the flavor was absolutely incredible! I think they call it a puffle but its def A++ i also tried (& loved) all the adult flavors, the strawberry is amazing... Clearly they put effort in the puree process. Thanks for being in gwinnett!

Love this place! Very welcoming and Filled with love from the minute you step in.. I have so many favorites but the top two favorites are Cinnamon Toast Crunch and lemon cookie (I think is what it’s called). Filled with flavor till the last drop please visit them in Canton, Georgia

I dont give out many 5 stars, but got to give this place a good rating. The service was fantastic. Pretty good selection of regular ice cream, but the star of the show was the adult ice cream flavors. The flavors were well balanced and not too boozie. It was clean and I watched the server prepare a waffle ice cream thing that looked amazing.

I love this place! The only thing better than the atmosphere is the ice cream. It has very homey and uplifting vibe to it. The staff are the owners kids and they are nothing short of fantastic! The ice cream is made fresh in house, by hand. They have alcohol infused ice cream, non dairy, italian ice, and regular ice cream, if you dare call it that. Pictured below is their puffle waffle with Nutella and their Coconut Dream and Lemon Cookie ice cream are placed on top. The ice cream itself is creamy and delicious, but this is next level amazing. Look no further for the best ice cream spot in Atlanta. 10/10

Terrible place and worse attitude.The ice creams were already thawing and the poor attitude of the guy did not help. We were the only people there besides one other family who was leaving. Took more than 30 mins to get our order and all that time, this dude was just doing his prep work for a phone order. When our order was finally ready and ice creams were already melting, we mentioned that to the person. He snapped to say we should have ordered sooner . The containers were not the cleanest. We left the place to never return.

Eat at your risk. We went there two weekends ago. The guy who was working there, didnt first acknowledge us. And while we waited he started working on his phone order without even looking at us.When we showed our discontent. He took our order not in an inviting way, but while making our ice cream, this guy coughed on it. Worst part is he took his mask to cough. Needless to say, we left the place in hurry.In this world of covid, not taking another chance with this place.

This is the move right here! My husband and I happen to cruise around downtown Lawrenceville and we stopped at this gem spot, “Sweet Joy”. We’re obsessed with the puffle waffle, omg, y’all! Homemade ice cream with different flavors +adult flavors (the taste is smooth creamy not overpowering) just amazing 🤩 . Every time we go in we try a different flavor and we keep coming back for more! I received 3 pints of their ice cream (Vanilla, GA Peach, Oreo) as part of an employee appreciation package from an employer. While I greatly appreciated the employer’s gesture, I can’t for the life of me see what is so great about it. Kroger’s private collection tastes infinitely better than their ice cream. It tasted like cardboard. I will ask the employer to try Coldstone Creamery or something more worthwhile next time.

My hubby had the fruity peebles one which was considered a favorite by one of the staff. I tasted some and wish I had that one! I guess Ill be coming back to get some. Plus its black owned! This was a nice ice cream joint. The staff was very friendly and extremely passionate about ice cream... Just like me! I tried their adult alcohol infused flavors which were great. I went to this establishment in the middle of December so it was not busy, but it has a lot of seating. Although I cant wait to come by in summer, I am curious what it will look like then. I did notice some board games on one of the tables, so this could be a good spot to chill with friends.

Sweet Joy Ice Cream Bar is simply amazing! I have tried most of the adult flavors and I believe that the Brandied Peach Italian Ice is the best. Margarita is a close second, but can you really go wrong with alcohol in ice cream?!?! The owner, Talia, and her employees are top notch! My daughter has tried the non-alcoholic ice creams and she gives them two thumbs up as well. If youre near downtown Lawrenceville, make sure you visit. If youre not near Lawrenceville, take a drive on a Saturday or Sunday. You wont be disappointed!

They had alot of selection including their boozy ice cream, non dairy and regular ice cream. I love that it was a small family owned buisness. They had a clean lobby and even let us cool off inside on a hot summer day. Staff was personable and super kind. I will most certainly be going back for another treat!

I was in there today and the icecream is wonderful but it seems the restaurant are not serving the customer like they appreciate us anymore. I know times are hard for everyone but if I pay this type of money for icecream I dont expect to loose a 5th of it before I even eat any because it was packed in properly.

I love this place and the owner. To get authentically made ice cream or sherbert without all the extra stuff and sugar, is awesome. It allows you to indulge without all the damage. I cant wait for the expanded non-dairy options. Its not close to me, so, I get enough to enjoy down the line until my next visit. But thats probably a good thing, because Id probably visit too much if I was close.

Came here for the first time last week and loved it. The ice cream was delish. They had several vegan flavors and the “adult” ice creams were strongggg.

Just had the most pleasant experience at this ice cream shop! The owner and her daughter were there serving ice cream and allowed my husband and I to try pretty much every flavor before we decided what we wanted. We ended up getting 2 waffle cones - one with cinnamon toast and the other with Oreo - but all of the flavors were delicious. All of the ice cream is made fresh daily in house. They also offer “adult” ice cream flavors blended with different liquors, so be prepared to present your ID if you want to taste or purchase any or those flavors.We don’t make it to Lawrenceville often, but we’ll be sure to swing by here whenever we do so we can support this great, locally-owned business. Hopefully their delicious ice cream and exceptional customer service will keep them in business for a long time!

I came by looking for a certain flavor and they didnt have it. I made another trip and they still didnt have it. My wife stop by yesterday and told the owner her husband is still looking for that bourbon flavored ice cream. The owner told my wife to have me come by today and she would have it made. Guess what???? It was and I was very happy. She kept her word. A very satisfied customer. If you havent had the opportunity to try their Ice Cream….what are you waiting for? Oh my goodness!! I can’t believe a place like this exists. The ice cream and treats are AMAZING!!! There is non alcoholic ice cream as well as alcohol ice cream!!! And they make this actual “waffle” cone that is out of this world. The service was great, and they told us that they make the ice cream homemade. My happy place ❤️🍦

This place is great! Lots of flavors and the prices are great. Indoor and outdoor seating which is great. The ice cream though is the real MVP. Everything we tried was soooooo good. The Baileys though (with alcohol) is amazing. The workers are all very nice and helpful. We will definitely be coming back!

Such a creative menu and the best part is that its ALL made in store! (Well... actually the best part is theres also a booze infused menu for adults, haha.) From friendly staff, cups, cones, and shakes - this place is nice treat for the whole family. I think they also host a game night too.

Visited yesterday for the 1st time, I chose the Butter Pecan and the Oreo(cookies & cream) I purchased the quart size which is a nice size to share for 2 people and OMG that this ice cream was soooo fresh and creamy, very delicious. Im so glad I gave them a try, I will definitely be back again soon. I have now found my new ice cream shop..absolutely no need for me to EVER go back to Brusters or Coldstone which they have NOTHING on this mom & pop shop which tends to use better quality ingredients anyway. Last but not least the young lady that served me was very nice and knowledgeable about all of their product being sold in house which is most definitely a great thing. The shop itself is a little eclectic and cozy, love all the vibrant colors as well.

This place is AMAZING!!!! Hands down the BEST ice cream ever!!! The owner is just as sweet as can be and makes all of the ice cream in house. You can tell she uses high quality ingredients. Im actually dairy sensitive but didnt have ANY problems with her ice cream. My children loved the chocolate ice cream that they got. We will DEFINITELY be coming back. What a hidden gem in Downtown Lawrenceville! Sweet Joys gimmick is their alcohol infused ice cream. About half of their flavors are adult-only, but that doesnt mean this isnt a place to bring kids. Its a family atmosphere, with child appropriate movies on the screens, board and card games to play at the tables, and indoor and outdoor seating.They are nestled back behind the beautiful rock garden at the end of all the shops, just a bit past the parking garage, directly across the street from Boulder Creek Coffee. Worth the few extra steps after dinner or shopping!
