I always find great deals here. Was looking for a specific shower curtain. Looked online and it said it was in-stock at the store.. and it was!! Rare for stores these days!

The cashier tried to steal $45 of change.I sent my son in to get $5 worth of things. He came back saying the cashier told him to leave after paying with a fifty dollar bill and that he didnt owe him any change. I went back in with my son to resolve the issue. The manager was nice and got things resolved but I will never spend my money there again. They should not have thieves working the register.

We came here to get my daughter a new dresser. WOW I see that the prices went up and the quality went WAY down! Save some time just go to Ashley furniture(next door). You can get that 500 dresser for 150.

Its a typical Big Lots--usual grocery stuff, dollar store vibe, random stuff no one else carries.

I loved how many gnome accessories you guys have and the two women who helped me get them down were super nice and friendly. I wish I asked for their names or looked at the badges. I was just so happy to find gnomes! The cashier Dorisann was nice too. Great place to shop!

When something is not in the store that was on sale, please stop saying it will be coming in on the next shipment. Chances are that it wont be on the next shipment and that is OK. Simply say that you dont know if you will be getting any more, then invite is to check back after the next shipment.

I love Big lots they are the best place to get basics like papertowel and cleaning supplies some of there products food wise are a little high but the rest of the store has a good selection at different price ranges. And the manager is also super sweet and everytime I have been sitting there trying to find something she has always helped get what I need. Their customer service is great. Thats how you should treat your customers.

Who doesnt like a good bargain? Theyre just really busy and sell out fast.

I went in for a birthday card, found out they dont sell cards anymore. In all fairness, I havent been in a Big Lots for probably a year or so. I decided to look around and look for some other things I needed. There were quite a few display areas that had no prices on any of the items being displayed. I probably would have purchased more items, but didnt want to take a cart full of stuff up to the front to be priced. There was a young kid stocking who was very nice in helping me to find an item that I needed.

We moved to a new home over the weekend. Our mattress was way overdue to replace. We bought a bed-in-a-box elsewhere thinking we should try a new type of mattress this time. It had excellent reviews. But we hated it. Had to get a replacement in a hurry when we didnt have time to shop around much, couldnt wait for shipping, and didnt have money for the $1000+ that most name brand king size mattresses cost these days (we just closed on a new house, wiping us out).It occurred to my wife that Big Lots has some furniture so maybe they have mattresses. I dont think it would have occurred to me so Im glad she thought of it. We found a hybrid (coil spring and memory foam mattress) barely more than the conventional one (coil springs only) at Sams Club, and unlike there at Big Lots they actually had the mattresses available to try out. More affordable than the mattress specialty stores and still get to try it out in-person and pick it up while youre there.I didnt inquire about delivery options so I cant speak to that, but as someone with a truck so I could take it home myself it was very convenient, the woman working there was very capable and friendly, and we picked out the mattress in 20 minutes and drove away no more than 40 minutes after we arrived. I would not hesitate to go back or recommend them to my friends and family.

Pretty cool. Can find the most random stuff in there and the staff is super kind! The only down fall is that its kinda messy. I wish the isles were cleaner, but other than that its a great store!

I dont shop this location often but everytime I do its spotless and the associates are always courteous and helpful.

Extremely friendly cool things to look at for great prices

Lacey was absolutely disrespectful. We asked for a price check and she had a fit like a two year old and matched off to the isle quickly glanced at the tag, stomped back to the register complex ignoring us and continued to bring a different customer to check out instead of communicating and finishing our transaction. Then when we asked what the price was she rolled her eyes and said “ I’m sorry you are being so aggressively angry” when all we did was ask her a question and wait for her answer. Very unsatisfactory service.

We love Big Lots. You can find so many things for amazing prices. We have bought bookcases, pantry storage, decorations, gifts, treats, and so much more. We havent been disappointed. Their rewards is great as well. You can sign up for the rewards card (we did it online but employees will be glad to help as well) and you get $5 for every 3 qualifying purchases! Thats pretty easy to get. We love being able to get canned food and treats, toys, decorations, simple furniture, and so much more all in one place.The layout is easy to follow. Areas are clean and organized. Employees are helpful and generally pretty cheery (people have their days though just like anywhere else). Prices are amazing and there is so much variety.

Big Lots is always fun to stop & shop to see what you may find. Big Lots on most items have fantastic prices, but on toys in my experience are higher priced than at Toys R Us. This is strange because Big Lots buy closeout lots at incredibly low prices. Which usually means the savings passed on to the customer. Which they do, just not on toys. This store is always clean, friendly employees & good customer service.

Got a great deal on a mattress

I prefer this place over family dollar. Bigger selection and cheaper prices.

You have to watch prices that you can get amazing deals here. Plenty of free parking and most of the workers here are very friendly and outgoing. The way they arrange tiles can be a little bit confusing on some things but still easy to navigate the medium size store. I think its a goof place to look for some of the common household items. Plenty of parking. The store over all is pretty clean.

My daughter applied for a job and then they emailed her for a background check. She filled it out and they told her it would take a week. She waited to hear back. She never heard back so she called to follow up. They told her she didnt get it. What? Why offer a job. Shes 21 and has never been in trouble. It wasnt because of the background. Wasted a couple weeks waiting for nothing.

Store is not laid out in a shopper friendly way. They were out of most everything. And product reminded me of old stuff.

UPDATE! New sectional, recliner, coffee table, 2 end tables, console table and ottoman. Had to take the section with the chaise lounge back because one leg couldnt screw in. The spot was to big so it slid in & fell out. The manager immediately accused me of breaking it before even asking what was wrong. Come on your selling cheap, poorly made product to begin with and then you attack customers when something comes back for an EXCHANGE!Pay the extra money and go ANY where else (maybe not Walmart) but anywhere other than BIG LOTS in Layton Utah.

UPDATE: it’s not often a company takes responsibility for a mistake. The manager, Sabrina called to personally apologize to me regarding this situation. Thank you Big Lots and Sabrina for making it right.PLEASE READ!!!! It is disheartening to have to write this review, as I am a long time customer of the Layton Big Lots. On Saturday, April 13th my husband and I were in the Ogden area and stopped into the Big Lots in South Ogden and bought a black accent table. After assembling it at home, we realized that the top of the table was scratched on the entire surface and one of the holes for the screws was stripped so an arm on the table couldn’t be tightened. Since we live in Layton we decided to return the table to the Layton location. Upon entering the store, Sarah who was at the register said she needed to call her manager, Sabrina to help with the return because she didn’t know if we could return it, which we thought was weird. The table was completely assembled, with the box to the side and Sabrina told us we couldn’t return the table there because the Layton store didn’t carry that piece of furniture so we would have to drive back to the South Ogden location to return it. I had some picture hooks to return and I asked if since I bought those at the Layton location, if I had to return them (here) because maybe the South Ogden location wouldn’t return them. Sabrina said both locations carried those hooks and either store could make a return. We loaded everything and drove to South Ogden; Completely out of our way. Upon returning the item to the store, we explained the situation and were told that we could have returned the table to Layton. And that regardless of if they have that piece of furniture or not, Big Lots in Layton should have made the return. I asked them to look up inventory and found out that Layton had 3 of the exact tables in stock at their store.I see this two ways. As a “manager” it is your responsibility to know the inventory of your store. It’s not like I was asking for some Little Debbies Easter cupcakes and she didn’t know off the top of her head if she had that in store. It was a black accent table, something she should know whether or not was in the store. It is also her responsibility as a manager, that if she honestly didn’t know if that piece of furniture existed, (funny that she knew both stores carried the exact same picture hooks) she should’ve scanned the code on the box because the computer identifies what’s in stock at that store. So the way I see it is, Sabrina is either lazy and didn’t want to scan the code to see if that piece of furniture was there or she’s a liar. And what sad characteristics to have. I’m wondering how Sabrina could look at a customer in their face and blatantly tell a bold face lie. Look at a customer in their face and tell them that that piece of furniture does not exist in the store and they will have to drive across town to return it, knowing she was lying. If you’re going to employ a manager at your store, that manager should have some sort of intuition. Sabrina had to have known that if she was going to tell us to drive all the way to South Ogden to return a piece of furniture, we were going to let that location know why we drove across town, hence all of this nonsense now occurring. She should’ve had enough intuition to know that something was going to be said and that management from both stores were going to have to get involved because of her incompetence.Over the last two days and after telling all of my coworkers and all of my patients this crazy story, we really are asking, is Sabrina lazy or is she a liar. Lazy, because she didn’t want to take 7 seconds to scan an item to see if it was indeed stocked at the store, or she’s a liar because she knew it was stocked at her store but still decided to lie to a customer. It’s either one or the other.

I went in to buy a few pieces of furniture at the store in Ogden and left quickly due to the incompetent Management who did nothing but downtalk the company and ended up in Layton. The initial purchase went very well. Jeff helped us and he was super friendly and helpful. I ended up buying 2 couches and a dining room table. One couch I paid for in full and the other couch and table I put on a price hold since they didnt have the pieces in stock to leave with. This is where the nightmare began. We were told 2 to 3 weeks tops.. A month later still no word from Big Lots even after several attempts to reach the furniture department via phone. 1 month to the day I call and am finally able to speak to someone. They had no clue about my furniture or what we ordered nor did they know if it was in. After a lengthy hold we were finally advised our future had been there for 2 weeks! We rent a uhaul, go and pick up the furniture only to realize once we got it home they ordered us the wrong table! Uhaul charges by the mile, I live in East Ogden and the store is in Layton! Do you think the store cared about their mistake or the fact theyre technically costing me additional fees to fix their mistake? No! It was absolutely ridiculous. What should have been a fun experience turned into me never wanting to shop there again, for anything.
