First Department I visit is Collectibles in the back right corner of the store.I love this new Layton location: wide aisles, everything is displayed nicely, bright environment.Fun to shop: $4.45including tax: two varieties of bread, squaw and cranberry spice; celery stalks, head of green leaf lettuce!!!Great employees! The produce manager was helpful, still pricing items; and encouraging new employees apply. My niece went right home and put together a resume, promptly interviewed there for work. Colombian woman working collectibles cares very much about her department and the people who shop there. The pleasantries of the employees make customers look forward to returning. 10% discount throughout entire store: daily for military; seniors (over 60 y.o.) on Wednesdays; Teachers Tuesdays. The new location is working out some employee shortaver kinks. customer service turned into the main cash register and the women there is an excellent and calm. That front register is unable to enter produce weighing but she found a quick way to smoothly get us checked out anyway.

Pretty decent there. Found lots of specials and definitely different from the Salt Lake location

This store is well-organized & filled with good deals! Depending on the day you go, there will be certain sections of the store that are 50% off their already discounted prices! And their bargain section is my favorite with $1 books and other miscellaneous items. Associates are helpful & friendly. Definitely worth stopping in whenever youre in the area, especially since their inventory is constantly changing.

The Salt Lake City location is much better. The food here is mostly full price, unlike the SLC store. A lot of the items are a higher price than the sign says, so make sure your total is accurate. The sales are not fun for a colorblind person, because its all color coded and impossible to know whats what. Its a decent store, just wish it was more like the SLC store.

The store was set up and organized very well. It is clean and resembles the store that was in their before. I dont know about everything in the store, but some things were a good deal.

Great place to find discounted goods that were another retailers excess. Especially electronics. Found a few things that I was going to get at Amazon for nearly half the price. Definitely worth checking out. Best part is they are a local company here in Utah.

Loved this store. Walking in you were hit by a strong fragrance of new and clean. The store was so neat, clean and organized. There were some good values on the shelves. Be sure to check out the $2 buckets in the back of the store. The customer service was exceptional when a product was rung up incorrectly. I would shop at this store all the time if I lived in Utah. Wish they had something comparable in California.

If you go in with the mindset you dont know what youre getting, you just want a good deal then this is the place for you. You wont usually find the same thing here twice.

Salt lake store used to be awesome but something changed prices they sky rocketed went from good deals to retail + 25% and even more in some cases I thought they were trying to sell sell sell not keep and store they sure are proud of their stuff I guess they look at it all as keeper stuff price all as not for sale prices if you know what I mean lost my business because of it more of a joke really they have really got greedy

The store was clean and very well organized but lacked actual discounted merchandise. A few things I was interested in was above Amazon prices and not in original packaging. Some items normally sold as a group was sold individually with a marked up price. Walmart had better prices on groceries items I had seen.

What a fun store! So many new things and so many great things! The expansion is going to totally be worth the long anticipated wait that we all have had! The location is perfect, the store is clean organized and easily accessible!!! Not to mention their staff is so friendly and helpful! Shop NPS first, you never know what you will find but I guarantee it will always be an amazing deal!!!

They have some cool stuff here but its hardly a discount. Everything I looked at was higher priced than Walmart and even some of it higher priced than target and @Home. Even some of the scratch & dent was on par with some retailers.

Wasnt real impressed. Everything seems quite a bit overpriced for a discount store. There are a few exceptions their clothing is you know half price but a lot of the tools and stuff are still marked way up. In fact a few of the tools I looked on Amazon just to compare to see and it was actually cheaper on amazon. Not a big surprise however at a discount store were supposed to be getting stuff for a deep discount it is quite surprising to find those items brand new somewhere else for cheaper.

Pleasantly Surprised by this location, the have a well organized grocery selection, lots of good deals.

The place is what it is and that is lots of junk. If you want junk at a junk price then this is the place for you.

Theres a lot of space for this store, and Im finding great deals and unexpected treasures here! One of my favorite stores and theres always new things.

I have a love hate relationship with NPS. Sometimes you find a killer deal, other times you don’t. I recently found a DeWalt drill set for $169.99 and at Home Depot, Lowe’s, and a few other sites the price was $159.99. I told the manager and he said he could match the price. Um, for $159.99 I can buy it new and be able to return it to Lowe’s or wherever with no hassle and get my money back. I asked if the manager could do 30% off and he literally laughed at me and said no that was “too good of a deal.” Don’t tell people your prices are 30-70% retail prices and not back it up. Highly disappointed at the lack of disrespect from the manager. I will keep going here because you can find a good deal once in a while.

I love this NPS store. I am surprised by the negative reviews. My guess is people didnt understand this is a dig and find type of store so it will be hit and miss. You really have to be patient. Im really happy based on the last time I was able to go. I found this cute vanity Im using as an entry way table. Major discount. 70% off. I think its all about being patient and waiting to find the good stuff

It was ok there wasnt much there when I went due to restocking. But what was there was good.

Pretty good selection but I wouldnt exactly define it as a discount store. Many products were priced above average store prices.

Somewhat of a discount on products. Should be more like half price but its only about 25% off new. Some prices are actually higher than retail.

They are filling the building with merchandise. In particular, I like to buy household paper and cleaning products. I find they have the deepest discounts. They have a nice assortment of things to buy!

I first heard of and visited NPS in Provo about a month ago and discovered one in Layton near my home. I love treasure hunting at NPS. You never know what youre going to find. Give it a try. Youll be hooked.

Hardly any discounts for their overstocked or open box items. Food priced more then the nearest grocery stores. Id recommend going to a grocery store for food discounts because you wont food deals here.

Store is very fun to “treasure hunt” in. Found some awesome deals on clothes and accessories like socks. An associate in clothing helped me out and she ended up being my cashier as well; Miya (I think that’s how it’s spelled) was very helpful and full of energy. She seemed to really love her job. I will definitely return!

This place is really just junk. Randomly you might find something worth buying just so you feel better about yourself for spending sooo much time wandering around looking at junk. I can see certain folks loving places like this but it is not for me.

I am so excited about an NPS store in Davis County! One of the managers there was so kind and helpful when checking me out, and even though they were closed, took the time to look in the back for an itemfor me. He even walked me to my car with my purchases! I took a picture of his name tag so I could recognize his great service here, but the name is too blurry in the photo. :( Regardless, he was so great, as was everyone who helped me there. So happy for the extra care and service in this crazy world. 🙏

They are getting set-up having just moved into the old Shopko Store. Because they are not totally set up. That said, there is still a lot of great deals and its definitely worth a visit. It will only get better as they get more of the store set up. It definitely will only get better with time.

Very interesting store. Worth visiting if you are treasure/bargain hunting. They are in the throws of remodeling right now, so inventory was on the lean side. Im excited to visit again when they are up and running.

Good deals here depend on what you buy. Watch out for the Aspen Mills bread they expire 4 to 5 days before date. It happened to us 3 times.

A lot of the items there ive never heard of so i have no idea of the price on the item is a good price or not. I get that its a lot of like damaged freight or what have you. There was just a lot of what seemed to be 3rd party replicas. If you guys had a retail price and a your price on tags would be helpful.

Sorry I really dont want to give out my name but what a great store NPS is, I always enjoy coming here every day I am usually buying ammo back in electronics and brady the associate that is always back there is very helpful and very kind and always willing to help me find something or point me in the right direction to where I could find something. What I really like about the associate is if he doesnt know a answer to a question he gets a manager which i believe here name is Wendi. Both Brady and Wendi got me a great deal on some hybrid slugs today which was very generous of them to do what a great team these two are together when figuring out a problem. Keep up the good work !!!!! I would give more then 5 stars if I could great customer service.

Id never even heard of NPS before yesterday, but my fiancee and I went in there to pick up a few items for supper after shopping in the sporting goods store next door. Our quick stop soon turned into a hunt for items to take on our upcoming camping trip. The store is very spacious and easy to move around it, so i can see that they could easily add more products in the future and not feel cramped. TBH, I found the pricing on some of the items to be as high or higher than other local groceries such as Smiths, but they had a wide selection of organic and boutique items that made up for this. We found cans of canned salmon for less than the price of tuna. Where they really won our hearts though was when we went to check out and there was an issue with the registers due to a computer problem. The staff offered to hold our items until we came back to get them, which we are about to do. I dont know that Id do my regular grocery shopping here, and we didnt really look at the other items they had, but its def a store I will return to on a regular basis.

I guess its okay. Because they arent as big as the Salt Lake location there isnt as much variety. Be ready to spend a pretty penny. Even though these are seconds, damages, and overstocks the prices are fairly high. Staff is friendly and the store is clean. Maybe Ill revisit this review after theyve grown some. On the plus side, theyre organized far better than the Salt Lake location.

What a wonderful store. All of the items are 30-60% cheaper than any store out there. Also if you find an item at a cheaper price somewhere else and it is the exact same item they will price match it for you and do 10% off. The staff is super friendly and are always willing to help if you ask.

They are trying to hard. There prices are up there for a discount store. I would rather go to salt lake city then the one in layton

Fun place to shop. You need atleast 2 hours because got have to go through each section.

I don’t feel any different going here or any other store like Walmart, Ross or Burlington I’ll give you one example At Walmart is 3.79 nps is 3.49, but if you go to Walmart you get all you need at once, so they kinda ok so it’s a hit and miss

Its okay. A little messy and unorganized, but the workers are kind. Clothes are too expensive, but I got a bunch of party stuff here for very cheap so that was nice. You can also get books for like a dollar.

Great bargains. you never know what you may find. not all items are available all the time so i deducted a star.

It is a great store. Do not buy groceries here. They are priced higher than Walmart and Winco. Clothes are decently priced and sometimes you can find some really cool ones for cheap. Store is new at time of this review so youll have to be patient with the staff.

This was my first time at an NPS and it wasnt quite what I expected. Similar to Ross and Marshalls, you never know what will be on hand and it can be quite a treasure hunt for the adventurous ones. I was taken back by the prices though. I hadnt anticipated that the prices would be the same as anywhere else. I was under the impression that it was a bargain store of sorts, but would never label it that after having visited.If youre looking for a new or different store to shop, definitely check it out. If youre looking for bargains, this isnt the place.

I have spent ALOT of money in this store. The way some of the associates treat and speak to few recurring customers is disrespectful.the training is nonexistent and the pricing is all over the place.....**Update this store has made a huge turn around and what an amazing change is customer service! So nice to see a place care enough to make changed. Thank you for an excellent experience

I recognize that this store is still going through construction. I heard someone rave about the great deal they found. I think that overall its an overpriced garage sale. Great Big Deals and The Landfill Thrift store have better organization of the clothing and better idea of what competitive pricing on the items should be. Target clearance racks have better prices then these mix and match finds. The sizes on the hangers didnt match the clothes size even There were a few deals amongst the merchandise but I found that I could by an 8 x 10 frame for less, for example at retail stores. Old unused tax document envelopes, just waiting for a craft project, I guess. Perhaps it will improve with time but if you have a few hours to kill to spend time digging out tags for sizes or finding the few real deals good on you, youre the real treasure hunter.

Wife and I visited the store for the first time. Clothing part reminded me of Ross department store. Food part was stocked with some produce, can goods, some dairy, and pharmacy products. No fresh meat !

This store is hit and miss, sometimes you can find good deals on certain things like electronics. The have a good selection of furniture also. Its worth checking out if youre looking for some discounted items.

I think its funny that they sell surplus and freight damaged items for more than you can buy them from your local box store. Granted some things are less expensive there but some definitely are not.

We were excited to see a Layton location of NPS. Have shopped at the Salt Lake location for years and I like the deals at the Layton location just as much if not more! (Especially the bucket room).Clothing, Electronics, Books and so much more. I heard they are expanding to the other side and when it is done it will be massive.The service is amazing and you can tell it is only going to get better.

I have been going to NPS for more then 10 years now and I absolutly love it! Great place to get afordable produce that is also environmentally sound as they are working to combat food waste! And this new store does not disappoint at all what I like about this store in contrast to the original is that the items are more spread out and displayed out of their boxes making treasure hunting much more enjoyable and faster! Cant recommend enough you go check out the new NPS in layton Utah!

Great bargain hunting. You never know what you will find! Nowhere near the size of the salt lake location but it is still worth checking out. It was fairly easy to get in and out of the store when I visited, even on a Saturday.

This is my favorite place to shop for everything.

The store its self is clean and pretty well put together. The employees are very nice. But the prices are way overpriced compared to the slc location. Also the slc location has a bigger selection.

Quite a disappointment. Who ever does their pricing needs to do some research. Many of their grocery items were marked higher than regular grocery stores. Some tools were marked way to high and others too low. Will not waste my time looking for a bargain there.

Great and clean. Will be better if match prices of other locations. Found one tv in SL for $100. and there over $200. of extremely similar product.

I dont know what to make of this place. Interesting. I thought expensive. Maybe once the remodeling is done it will be a more pleasant shopping experience.

Love NPS. Each location has its own specialty. Salt lake ....tool side/food of the store. Layton, $2.00 fill a bucket. Lets not forget the auction/bulk location. One of my favorite stores, for sure.

Great deals on all kinds of products! One of my favorite stores. The only thing that could be better is restocking faster because items go faster than they are put out occasionally. Overall, very pleased.

Just meh. Huge store, with a lot of empty space. Nothing too fantastic to look at.

Disappointing. I know theyve made arrangements with companies to basically take stuff that gets lost or damaged in shipping for free. The prices just arent that great. Most things are just a small percentage below full retail on websites, and if you buy it on a website, you get warranty and return possibilities. I would think a store like NPS would want to sell things so cheaply that I would even buy something that I didnt need, because it was such a great deal.In response to the owner response, at the Layton store, theres a row of electronics to the left as you enter. I checked several prices on my phone, which anyone can do, and the prices were slightly under prices for those items, however, there were newer items by the same manufacturers with the same specifications at lower prices. I also spot checked prices of several items on the other side of that aisle where theyre sporting goods. A lifting belt comes to mind. I looked at TVs and humidifiers. The reality is, we drove over to the store expecting to find something, but there wasnt anything that we felt we should purchase.

I love this store so much I decided to work here. It’s so fun to see the new merchandise that’s put out, and products are usually 1/2 the price of what you’d normally pay. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, just try another day! However you usually you go away with something you didn’t know you needed. 😉

Its kinda a cool store. There is a lot of random items for discounted prices. My cashier, Nathaniel was very nice and chipper.

The place was a little chaotic, but they just opened and their merchandise isnt as predictable as a regular store, so that didnt bother me. I was surprised to see how high their prices were. This store exists mainly to sell damaged, open-box, expired (or nearly), and returned items from mainstream retailers. People go in expecting not only savings but significant savings. Their prices are the same or more than a regular store, but at a regular store at least you know that you are getting something completely new and usually untouched.

Over priced junk. Had some good prices on high carb foods and soda

Salt lake store is better by far. This one has much higher prices than Salt lake but the store itself is nicer. Salt lake prices are rising too which I hate but hope they dont get as high as this ones. Its no use going when everything is the same price as a regular store or higher even.

This store in Layton is not running to its fullest capacity yet, but once it is it will be great!

The customer service was a little off. The employee we saw must have been having a bad day or something. Because she was grouchy. I did find one thing I was looking for on my list and it was a better price than Walmart.Thank you

The prices was good ONLY when it first opened. The last couple of times I went there the prices went way up (almost the same prices of over price retail stores). Alot of the food has expired (check the dates before you buy food from here). The employees act like they hate there job and they are very rude to customers.

Ive never heard of NPS until they opened near my home. Great merchandise and better prices. My favorite, is the $2 fill a bucket in the bargain area. Youll never know what youll find!!
