Terrible communication. They lied to me 3 times over the course of the tuneup. They missed the pick up date twice and blamed their technicians for not coming into the shop those days. Then when they called to tell me of additional work that needed to be done on my machine. I knew it didnt because I already had a tune up from another local company that told me small engine shops prey on these type of issues. They missed the return date and never once called. Bad Service. And wouldnt return.

These guys are top notch. Brad and crew are skilled and considerate. Will be taking all my small motor repairs & maintenance to them in the future. They have earned my trust and my business. Hats off to you, EngineWorx!

I bought a lemon from a different place and we went to see Brad at Engine worx. When we got there he greated us, looked at our mower and told us the truth about what was happening. Of course my husband and I were upset after just getting this other mower for my father in law who recently had surgery on his back. Everyone that was working was super great and nice and they ended up taking our broken mower and sold us a new one that is 10x better and we showed my father in law and he was so happy to have a working mower that is self propelled. Good techs that do really great work at reasonable rates. They were able to fix my pressure washer that another shop had worked on and failed after first post maintenance use.

Took my riding lawnmower in for service. It was running funny and had low power and would die while operating under load. After the diagnostic test I was told that it had low compression and would need a new engine with an estimate over $900.00 or I could leave it with them and they would scrap it for me. I took it to another shop, they repaired and serviced the mower for less than $350.00 and it is running like new again.Update after reply from owner: To clarify my review was related to the diagnostic conversation. Upon review of the work order mentioned by the shop, the information that was stated is correct as well. My review stands because what was listed on the shop order was NOT what was relayed to my when making my decision for Engine Worx to fix my riding lawn mower.As far as the price of the repair compared to the service price listed in the response, the service provided by the other shop included a more in-depth service than what was included in the price that was quoted to me when I dropped off the machine.

Very disappointed. Took my lawnmower in that wouldnt start and was told engine was unrepairable and they offered to trash it for me. I wanted a second opinion before deciding what to do. Another shop said it just needed new belts--easily repairable for under $100.

Rented a Uhaul through these guys, I picked it up at 10:30am and dropped it off at 3:45pm the same day and they charged me an “after hour” $21 fee because I put the key in the lockbox when I dropped it off. The lady at the desk said she would be heading out early and to just put the key in the box when completed. These people are obviously scammers and look for any reason to charge people extra money. Scum!

Easy company to work with. Personable with demonstrated engine experience and knowledge. They knew right away what my Cub Cadet XT1 riding lawn mowers problem was and gave me clear instructions on how to avoid the engine problems going forward. After fixing it, they put together all the warranty papers and all I had to do was sign for it. Definitely recommend and would definitely repeat as a customer, but I hope my mower doesnt give me a reason to!

I have a very old MTD tractor mower (25+ yrs) that Ive kept nursing along until I had an electrical problem that was beyond my ablities. I took the mower to Engine Worx in layton. This was a Tuesday afternoon that Joe helped me unload the machine. I told Joe how I had tried to resolve the problem, even to my checking the points and condenser. After several (5+_) hours I gave up.I got a notice Wednesday afternoon the mower was ready to pick up.Joe was the mechanic and a very good diagnostician, found the problems, replaced the parts and got it running in very good time, at a reasonable price. I am very pleased. I highly recommend this small engine repair as one that will be straight with you for good or bad.

These guys are amazing! Brad took the time to talk to me about my machine and helped me understand what was wrong with it and what I would need to make the machine running again. Brad has repaired my snow blower a couple of times this winter. I would highly recommend him. I live in Park City, he was very communicative, picked up my unit according to my crazy schedule and dropped it off when it best suited me, always in the agreed upon time frame. The work was top notch and for any small engine work, I wouldnt consider going anywhere else.

I debated whether or not to write this review because Brad seems like a pretty nice guy, but my experience with his business is that it is run poorly. He is difficult to get a hold of, is not responsive, doesnt keep his commitments, and does not set expectations. I would not come back here, despite generally liking the owner as a person.

Brought my damaged mower to engine worx after I had spoken to Brad on the phone to describe my problem with a poor repair job from someone else. When I arrived he immediately examined the mower and began to repair the damage, tune and power clean the unit. I was charged a reasonable rate and my 7 yr old mower runs like new.It was a pleasure dealing business there and will definitely still be using Engine Worx in the futureNice job!!

I can’t believe these guys get the reviews they do. They have been a total joke. I’m not one to write bad reviews but this one deserves it. I dropped off my generator over 2 weeks ago and was promised the world. Their communication has been absolutely horrible. The “next day” part has turned into a 2 week deal. Don’t hear a thing from them unless I bug them multiple times. I had to rent another generator and finally bought another one to keep things going on the job. I wouldn’t ever recommend them.Update: It has now been 3 weeks since I dropped off the generator. The guy finally called me and said that he got the part in and installed. He then saw this review and took the part off and sent it back!! So after 3 weeks, I have had to pay over $1000 in renting a generator, had to BUY another generator and I got this one back in the same condition I dropped it off in. Not to mention every time I go to pick it up, nobody is there and when I call he is very unprofessional with his language. STAY AWAY!

This place is a joke! I did not choose to take my mower to this company. It was warranty service through Lowes. I had taken the day off to get my mower picked up. Nobody showed up or called to let me know what was going on. When I finally got my mower picked up I had planned a certain time with Brad and he was 2 hours late. Showed up in an unmarked vehicle and received no paperwork. After about a month of not hearing anything about my mower l decided to call brad he said my unit was done and be delivered on Saturday. Saturday came and no mower was delivered called him on the following Monday Brad acted as if it had been dropped off said hed look into it and call me back. He didnt call back. So I had to call him he stated the next Saturday it would be delivered. Saturday came no delivery. Monday came after I had called/ texted multiple times brad called at 5:45 am saying he was twenty minutes away with my mower. I had talked to him about doing a standard maintenance while it was in for the warranty. He charged me for that service 100 dollars. When I had got the mower I noticed the one blade you could see on the mower deck had been sharpened so I had thought the service was completed. Brad was quick to leave. After he left I started to look if the service was really done. It was not. All he did is hit the one blade that could be seen with a grinder and nothing else. Tried calling he didnt answer. Then when I got to mowing my lawn the warranty repair work was done wrong now my mower doesnt brake and grinds when I engage the brakes. This was the worst service ever. He had my mower for 6 weeks. This company is crooked and needs to go out of business.

Long story short, Brad is a lifesaver! Husband messes up our snowblower, it sat....for a while. Dad comes into town and try’s to repair it, didn’t work out quite how he planned. Hubby gives it another go, didn’t work. Took it to Brad, he fixed it and offered to deliver. Military friendly! Go see him! You won’t regret it!

This was the only place I could get the belt for my snowblower. Not Lowes, not Home Depot, not Amazon, Walmart, etc. Brad at Engine Worx was so unbelievably helpful! He helped me find everything I needed and followed up with me till it was taken care of. I would recommend Engine Worx to EVERYONE.

My wife took in our Honda lawn mower for a tune-up, two new Wheels, and a self-propelled cable on Apr 20th 2019. She was told we would have it back no later than Friday Apr26th. She called on Tuesday Apr 23rd to check the status. She was told the tune-up was done but they were still waiting on the wheels and cable and that it should be done no later than Friday like they had originally told her. We did not hear from them on Friday so we could pick up our lawn mower. My wife tried to call them starting Monday Apr 29th there was no answer and their voicemail was full to check the status of our lawn mower. They finally called us back on Thursday May 2nd and told us they were still waiting on the cable. My wife expressed her frustration with the lack of communication regarding the progress of our lawn mower. We are aware that companies do not have control over the delivery of parts and when they arrive but they do have control over keeping in contact with their own customers regarding items that are brought to them. When my wife Express this to him he was very rude to her I would not recommend this company to anyone.

My Husband and the owner of small Engine worx entered into a verbal agreement (which I guess means nothing these days) to oil change, spark plug, and a new spring for the throttle on my snow blower, but I got was not that. ( I do not know after reading others reviews how they can give 5 stars on this place, is there a star lower than zero. ) I was promised it back in 4 days it took 15 days. Then the machine told me my engine was ruined, something about the gear box, who wreck my machine??? After 15 days I showed up at his shop called the owner on the phone after a brief conversation he YELLED at me and told me if I would have not been calling for updates he could have fix my machine, he never called me once, and he would return it to me and DUMP it on my drive way in the same condition he receive it, then he hung up on me. When I walk into the shop to see my machine on the day it was promise AGAIN, I found my machine in many pieces on the floor not on a box to keep my parts clean and together. If it wasnt for the machine trying to make things right who knows where this would have gone. Believe me folks this is a very boiled down story of what happened. I even contacted the BBB and told them my story. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone for small engine work...

Engine Worx Small Repair was my 3rd small engine repair shop stop this day. -fyi they figured out what was wrong with my mower in 5 minutes.My small engine shop search went like this:1. First Stop: Honest Engine Small Sales & Service. Sounds like your carburetor but were closing in 1/2 hour. Try B C Small Enige down the road.2. Second Stop: B C Small Engne repair and More. Sounds like your carb. We have a 2 week wait.3. Thrid Stop: Engine Worx Small Repair. Finally!! (I guess third times is a charm).So i called Engine Worx and the guy who answered, Brad, said I can pick it up or if you want drop it by. so I decided just to drop it off to check it out. I walked in the door shook hands with Brad, who helped me unload my lawmower and took a look at it immediately.Apparently i had some gunk that was built up. I asked what do I owe for the service and he said, nothing, man; just keep us in mind when you have a real problem.Shook hands and I was on my way. Came home and mowed my lawn without a single problem. Now Im relaxing, drinking some sweet tea and writing this review.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. We were originally told our John Deere mower would take 2-3 days to repair. It needed new bearings. They would also do an oil change while it was in there. We agreed and they hauled it off on 4/12/16. When we hadnt heard back from them in a week, we called to see what was going on. Had to leave two messages before they called back. When they did call back he said the part had to be ordered in and the shipping delay was shipping from John Deere. He said the part was scheduled to be delivered the next day. (4/20) and that hed have it done and back to us Thursday 4/21. (Delays are to be expected, we understand that, but communication is key when you miss deadline after deadline)When that day came and went we called 4/23 and we were told it would be delivered that (afternoon) Saturday or first thing Monday morning at the latest. At that point he said it was completely finished and requested that it be paid for. We paid him over the phone. The bill was $100 over what he told us it would be, but we paid it anyways. We just needed our mower back. Saturday afternoon came and went and so did Monday. We called Monday and left messages. We called again and left messages Tuesday. Finally on Tuesday evening I texted him and said I felt he was avoiding us and we needed to know what was going on and where our mower was especially since we had already paid him. He texted back and said he was off that day and that hed deliver it tomorrow (4/27) He also sent a rude text to our other number and basically said we could take our mower somewhere else to be fixed next time. We tried to call him back to keep things civil and of course, no answer!! So, here we are, 15 days out and still no mower, just another promise that itll be delivered today. Overall, poor customer service and horrible communication skills. I cant speak for the work since we still dont have the mower back and our lawn is over a foot long. We should have gone to the John Deere service center from the get go. Lesson learned the hard way. Hopefully this review will save someone else from falling prey to this company.
