This place is an absolute gem. Very relaxing atmosphere. The owner is really nice and actually caring. She was very helpful and knowledgeable upon check in. My SUP seemed like it was losing air and she made sure I was okay or if I needed anything. Small gestures like that mean a lot. I definitely will be back!

I love this place! Me and my friends get some sun and relaxation while swimming. We bring our picnic pot luck lunch and chill all day . It’s deep so children will need a life jacket and you will need some kind of floatation device. Swimming teams and Scuba divers are sometimes there and neat to watch them train

Scuba diving lake in Houston area is family operated, Tony and Randall are super cool folks and very friendly.This is a 55 acre lake, visibility 5-15ft depends on the season. Highly recommended! Go check it out!

$45 for 3 people to swim. Sorry to see Lake 288 go - this is NOT a replacement at all. The water is hot and you can’t see more than a foot into the water. Not for children. There is no place to get in the water except for a few sketchy docks and a old set of stairs. Stinky gross water and the lake is full of fish that bite. Not coming back.

This lake is absolutely beautiful. I caught a turtle and gave him some food and let him go to be on his way. When i get married one day if i get married i want ot to be here. Its amazing. The water is beautiful 😍 i highly recommend coming here. The only down side js that its $15 for a day which is a bit much but its a ok

Great place to swim or fish, they have paddle board rentals and covered areas to have a picnic, great family place for sure!! And big rental floats for the kids or to tan on.. Love being able to grill out there also, just gotta bring your own grill.. They also have hammocks that I can relax on and read a good book. After our fun day at the lake I realized that they have a scuba instructor there on site!! Next step time to learn scuba diving! The area is very well kept and clean!!

Water temp was great, pretty clear for a lake. Liked that there were several items you could swim to. Had kayaks and paddle boards which is great. Would have given 5 stars of they had restrooms and life jackets.

Visibility comes and goes but it is the best local place to do your open water dives for scuba.

Since C19 weve trained exclusively at Lake Longhorn instead of the pool. You will not find a better swim course, and friendlier people anywhere in greater Houston.

Excellent lake to dive in if you are in the area looking to get some dives in. Plenty of boats, platforms, and other objects to see while you are diving. Average depth of all things is about 20 feet(bottom), so stay off the bottom and maintain the visibility for everyone else. :D

We had our employee party here and it was fantastic. Plenty of shade trees lots of room for the kids to run and play. Swimming area is huge and some people did bank fishing. Great place to have a birthday party or family outing. Will be back

I live 15 miles away and did not know this facility was there. I took my PADI Rescue there with Barefoot Scuba last September. I really enjoyed the facility. It rained the whole weekend and I still had a blast. Coming back for more on sunny days for cook out and more dives for sure. Good way to spend an afternoon. Staff was friendly and accommodating and its close to my crib. I will recommend it for sure.Art Mejia

Lake Longhorn is an undiscovered gem located in suburban Houston. My wife and I recommend this scuba site highly. We did two dives there on Friday, May 24th. For the first dive, we were the only ones in the Lake. The water temp was 82 F on the surface and mid-70s below 20 ft. We followed a guide rope that took us to all the major submerged objects including a cabin cruiser, sailboat, motorcycle, and engine. Visibility was about 5 feet but thats common to lakes and quarries. We finished our second dive with some safety skills on one of the two platforms. A key feature are covered pavilions with picnic tables to relax and picnic between dives.

Taking Scuba lessons with Pat and Amy Bearfoot Scuba. Used Lake Longhorn to do our open water dive. Neat place! We will be back for more dives and fun/outdoor family events. It’s connected to a shooting range so there’s sounds of practice shooting but it’s distant and not overwhelming.

I took my rescue diver course here with Jeff at Maximum Scuba. Great little lake in a nice area. Water clarity when I went was around 8 feet. which is pretty good for most lakes around here. There are two boats on the bottom and good training platforms. Owners were very nice and price was reasonable.

Excellent open water training facility, with buoys throughout the lake that mark distances. Map of lake posted at dive shop & staff will help answer questions Owners are fantastic and on site daily.

Wonderful dive team and great instructors, diving with a friendly dive team is wonderful and the owners are wonderful and nice as well.Diving in the open is way nicer than diving in a closed building.

I dont swim here but Im dad really enjoys it and it open during quarantine so it was a good way to stay fit in quarantine

I got certified here and Kory was awesome. Very thorough classroom and pool experience. I also bought most of my gear here. They are very accommodating when something doesnt quite fit right; returns were easy and they made sure to get me the right fitting item. Such good people all around

This lake is hidden gem right here in my backyard I suggest you check it the water is really clear and the grounds are so nice they even rent paddleboards. If you need a place to have party be sure and ask to rent theyre large party float will be back

Great place to train divers or just dive. It is 30 min from Houston making it a No-Brainer for scuba training. What instructor or student wants to drive a couple of hours a day to train scuba divers with the same VIZ. Owners (Randy and Toni) of the lake are the most genuine people you can find.

Lake Longhorn is one of the best spots for Texas swimming or diving, the lake is huge and the water clarity is more than you will expect for Texas lakes. The owner is extremely kind and always around to answer questions whether about the lake or the gun range.

Awesome lake in the middle of League City! Beautiful water! Very clean and kept up with and plenty of things to do! Highly recommend!

Great Lake for practicing your scuba skills. Owners are constantly looking to improve the scuba opportunities and the picnic areas keep getting better.
