This was my first visit to the Lehi office. When I walked in the front door I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. My whole experience was very professional and pleasant. I went to the Lehi location to get an eye exam and to get my eyes dilated. The staff was so kind and helpful. The technician who did my initial exam and gave me eyedrops was so so kind and reassuring. The doctor I saw answered all of my questions and was very patient. I highly recommend going to this location.

Waiting time was very short even though I was early and everyone is courteous, friendly and accommodating. All questions answered promptly.

Having moved to American Fork last year Iwas grateful to learn that Dr Wilkinson sees patients here once a week. He is very competent and I owe my good eyesight to him! He identified serious problems with my retinas several years ago and referred me to a retinal specialist. He has since replaced cataracts in both eyes for me and my wife. It is always a pleasure for us to see him for our annual checkups!

I have been seeing an ophthalmologist at the Lehi office for several years. The medical expertise is wonderful. The technology (medical instrumentation) available there is equally wonderful. The staff are professional and helpful. They have practiced pandemic safety measures that are very much appreciated by this patient. One concern I have had occasionally is that the wait time during a visit can be a little excessive. I would suggest an early appointment time in the morning or afternoon should they get behind because of unexpected delays with other patients.

The experience I had with Dr Matthew Parsons was life changing. At the age of 18, I lost the vision in my left eye due to a chemical burn. At age 64 after other failed attempts to restore Vision, I met Dr Parsons. He showed me a way I could see again, and after surgery and time, I was able to see in both eyes, the first time in 45 years.Medical science played a big role and I am so pleased to be under his care.

The physicians and staff are very knowledgeable and can explain your vision problems in a way thats completely understandable. They take the fear out of fearful things.

Dr smiley was very nice calm and very educational of what was going on with my eyes I thought I had cataracts I do but theyre not bad enough to treat with surgery. so he was very helpful and told me to treat myself with dry eye thats why my vision is probably not as good as it should be because my glasses are a okay 2020 period so I was just overall pleased such a nice guy Im surprised he doesnt have more business so go ahead go over to him hes hes a nice eye doctor and he they dont use that puff machine in your eyes. That puff machine is what like visionworks or America first uses America best uses to check your pressure in your eyes but thats so annoying period so here in Excel in Lehigh they dont use that puff in your eyes they just put some yellow drops in your eyes to check the pressure and you dont have to have that pain on your dry eyes with those puffs. overall its really great experience and I just advise anybody wants to go over there youll do a really great job for you

The doctors are great, but the receptionist was not the best.

We stopped by on my way home from the hospital because my eye was scratchy, infected and uncomfortable. Apparently, during surgery my eye was accidentally scratched. I was given a prescription which I picked up at Walmart in Saratoga Springs. About a week and a half later the infection still hadnt cleared up and I made a call to Excel in Lehi (same location) to see if I could get a refill of the antibiotic drops for fear my eye would revert to its original condition. I was assured that they were calling in the prescription refill right away and my husband could pick it up on his way home from work. He works late hours sometimes in Holladay and drove all the way to Saratoga Springs Walmart and arrived around 7pm just to find out the order was never called in :(. I then called the office and was nice, but expressed some frustration, I also sent a text message and an email regarding the situation. The next morning I received a call from an office manager apologizing and promising they would call in the order which my husband could pick up after work the same day. As a result, we went back to Walmart later that day but they still did not have the order (it was never called in). We then called Excel from Walmart and they said at this point they couldnt do anything to help and to call back the next day? I decided to call back and speak to a supervisor who then put me through to the supervising technician who looked it up and said something like oh goodness Im sorry, I called it into Walgreens instead, but you can go back to Walmart Ill call it in right now. I explained we were late for a doctors appointment as a result of this fiasco and wouldnt be able to get it now until the next day :( I still dont have this prescription, only a bunch of promises that never result in anything! :(

Excel Eye Center in Lehi...The staff...well, I haven’t met or even seen one, who was not smiling or friendly. They are all friendly, smiling, and I do mean, actual Genuine smiles, helpful and attentive.The Doctors and their Assistants, are really good at Putting you at ease, by telling you, exactly what they are doing and are very careful and gentle with the procedures needed to care for, not Just your Eyes, but also, you, as their patient..We have choices when it comes to choosing a doctor, and we’ve All met doctors who think they are ‘God’, who think it is beneath them to explain anything about your case or treatments, butDr Smalee.. is Not one of those guys...

Professional place. I wasnt kept waiting in the waiting area past my scheduled appointment, but I was kept waiting in the exam room for over 30 minutes for Dr. Smalley after the initial vision test was done. Talked to him for maybe 5 minutes before it was all over. He was professional and explained things in a way that I could easily comprehend, but sitting alone, unable to see, for 30 minutes in a dim room left a bad taste in my mouth.

My wife and I had a great date with the Excel Eye team.

I am mind blown at how much this place charges for services. 2 years ago I had an eye ulcer, went to eyeglass world, they charged me $25 (accepted my vision insurance)to see me and order prescription, I had 2 follow up appointments that were included in the $25 price.I go to this place for the same problem 2 year later and get billed $297 dollars for the same exact thing. THEY DONT TAKE VISION INSURANCE, just health insurance. How does that even make sense?! So basically I got ripped off and had no choice but to pay. This place is not worth your money! They just want your money!

Dr. Smalley performed cataract surgery 4 years ago. Since then all follow-up visits are just like the surgical procedure, Excellent in every way.

Nothing no but incompetence at this place. I did my homework and asked if they took my insurance when I made the appointment. I asked again when I checked in for the appointment. After the eye exam we went to be fitted for glasses, picked them out and when the lady put the order into the computer she told me they don’t take our insurance. I went back to the front desk and they checked and said oops, it looks like we take your insurance for exams but not glasses. Fine, I took our prescription and went to Alpine Vision where they processed our order flawlessly through our insurance. Months later I get a bill for $350 for a simple eye exam. I call them, not friendly or helpful. I told them they needed to get it figured out because i wasn’t paying that amount. I would have gone to Costco where I normally go and pay $50 if I had known they don’t take my insurance. No more bills came in the mail. I had a couple of phone calls from billing and I tried to explain the situation but the lovely lady hung up on me. Then a year and a half later, I receive a bill in the mail from a collection agency. I had only ever received one bill in the mail. No follow up bills, no final notice. Nothing. After too much time on the phone, I figure out that they were sending everything (except for the initial bill that went to the right address) to an address I hadn’t had for 18 years. Not the address I had given them when I filled out the paperwork at the time of my appointment. The incompetence just keeps on going. Now a year and a half later they want me to fight with my insurance company to pay it. They want to do the bare minimum st this place. Customer service sucks except for a few nice ladies if your lucky enough to talk to one of them.

This place was great when I had an eye emergency (scratched cornea). They were able to see me that same day. They were able to examine the eye without causing me pain, and were really knowledgeable. They made me feel better and helped me know what to exept during the recovery process. Id definitely go back to them.

They are always so nice and they do a great job. I love that I show up a few minutes before my appointment and they get me in and out quickly. Dr Smalley did eye surgery on me and did a fabulous job. I had no issues not even pain, I only used Advil and I was fine. Totally recommend this office.

Dr Smalley and staff are great. He has treated my daughter with a somewhat rare condition, and has carefully explained everything about it. My kids love coming here over the other doctors we have seen. We frequent the office regularly with her condition. And each week the staff is friendly and kind. I would recommend this clinic to everyone! The lady that fits the glasses went above and beyond for us-my daughter got frames and a month later they broke. When we called she said they had problems with those frames in the past and we could bring them in and pick new ones at no charge. They were great!!
