As much as I can I try to pick up tools, supplies, and PPE from the Lenexa store. Most of the time I will pick up any items at the store location after ordering online. But, every once in a while, I have big heavy items shipped for free with my Advantage membership. Saves me shipping costs and a 100 plus mile round trip. Its something to consider taking advantage of.

Good place for average quality and average price. Been buying here for about 8 years and employees are always in a bad mood, seem angry to help. Thats a management problem.

I work for a company based out of Nebraska and Ive always had a great experience when shopping at the Northern Tool in Omaha. This is the first time Ive had a bad experience. The male cashier seemed to be in a bad mood and seemed angry to help. He let out a big sigh as I approached to ask him a question. He ignored me at first and looked around to see if anyone else would help me. I asked him if he had a metal tech baker scaffold in stock and then sighed again and proceeded to check on the computer. In the end he told me there was none in stock (even though it says it was in stock online) he didnt even try to help me order one or even show me other options that mightve been in stock. I ended up just purchasing some drinks...in the middle of rining me up a customer called and once again he let out a big sigh and proceeded to answer the phone. Seemed very rude the way that he was speaking to the person on the phone. If you need to purchasing anything from the Lenexa Location, I would suggest just ordering an in store pick up so that you dont have to deal with the horrible employees.

I spent far too much time trying to make the decision to order these tires. asthe axle size is not quite the same size. i called expecting to reach a salesman that was somewhat educated on the tires. she knew nothing. i would suggest a chart simply saying what the tires fit. thanks

Great value on great tools. Most tools are well known brands.

Efficient website, easy to navigate, and easy purchase process. I misunderstood something in checkout but I just simply missed something that was there and within less than a minute their chat session took care of it. Took my lumps (on my missing) it, and went on to order it immediately.

When I have needed help locating an item or for more information about an item, the store staff have been helpful and posses knowledge about your items.

I love this place! Im like a kid in a candy store whenever I come in here. They have a wide variety of tools and equipment available. Pay attention to their sales as they will have some epic price drops you wont find anywhere else. They also have some very knowledgeable staff that can help you figure out how to solve whatever problem you come across.

Bought a chainsaw when I got it home I couldn’t get it started after pulling on it for 2 hours. When I took it in the next day the rude manager tried to start it with no luck then told me I flooded the saw that he had just been pulling on, he would not just return the saw like I wanted because they can’t return gas powered equipment. I asked him why I was not informed of that policy and he said it’s on the back of the receipt, ( which would require purchasing the saw to get a receipt). He refused to refund the unused saw and said we had to file a warranty claim on the saw that has yet to start. Then notified me if a refund was granted a restocking fee would be applied to the brand new unstarted saw. The manager was rude towards me, rude towards my wife and made a rather uncomfortable situation with a young lady employee that witnessed this. Won’t go back here again. Steve the manager should never be in customer service!!!

I bought a lawnmower and a weedwacker and would have bought a lockbox for my truck but they couldnt measure my truck.

Great place to find tools of all kinds for good prices

Staff was very friendly, very knowledgeable and very quick. I would shop there regularly if it was closer to home. I went up there to buy one of the five by 8 wire mesh trailers and grabbed a few other tools I needed. Tools from there are a much higher quality without that high-quality price. Ive never had a tool break from this place. The two ladies working the front where are fantastic and have an excellent sense of humor!

Great help and decent inventory

I bought a brand new weed eater May 26th. Started it for the first time May 27th it would not stay running without the choke on. Ive not had a weedeater for a month. So I tried to return it to the store. They would not return or exchange it. I would have to take it in for warranty work. I already thought of that they are 3 to 4 weeks out on getting it fixed. Probably longer because I did not buy the unit from them . The employees were very rude told me to leave the store. This will be the last item I well ever purchase from Northern Tool and I have been a customer for many years.

Well it was my first time shopping there. I had plenty of time to browse. I felt like a Kidd in a candy store. I was checked on twice to see if I needed any help. I liked that. When I shop I try to buy American made products, this is hard to do. Here it was easy. (In regards to my interest), I had plenty of choices Of quality and or less expensive. Great experience for me. I will go back.

Greg, Abby and the team are PHENOMENAL. Had a mishap with my Blackhawk/Homelite Honda GC160 pressurewasher. Got the new pump and they put it on lightning fast. Greg and team are the BEST!

Decent sized store, comparable to an Ace Hardware in size but not selection. Which can be a good or bad thing. They are very focused on tools and tools only. I came looking for glue and caulking and they only sold super glue or one type of gorilla glue. In the middle of the store is a lot of cheap items such as beer koozies and random small tools.

This store has lots of great stuff. They need to get rid of the manager to make it a store where I will ever shop again. He is rude and hates customers. The one star is for the manager. Too bad zero stars is not an option. Otherwise it would be a 5 star store.

I, purchase a 1/2 long flex head ratchet brand titan close to 50 with a life time warranty. I love it for the year that it lasted. When, I try to return or exchange,they had discontinue the product. They could not issue me a refund nor exchange it for similar product, since I did not had the receipt. So, I found the receipt, and try again to return the product another day. I was told just then they could issue me a refund with a receipt since the product was discontinued. That was not the case, who was in charge on the morning of May 9, around noon., told me they could not do that for me since they had discontinue the product. I have to get a hold of manufacturer/titan products, So he provided me with a peace of paper only with a PO Box mailing address out of a product they had on their shelves. he told me it will be better to get a hold of them trough a web address that he was not even providing me with he insinuated just go online. So I asked for a phone #, then an assistant found one and was provided with a phone #. therefore after all the time waited I finally got help right off after calling but still had to send and pay shipping cost of over $19 dollars and who knows how long is going to take for me to get the ratchet I believe if Northern tools + equipment sell a product that has warranty, they should honor your refund or exchange. what is the point of a store that does not Honor warranty might as well buy products online I am still paying shipping cost + waiting period.

I took my lawn mower in as the bolt broke off from the blade and the bolt was deep inside. I had to call and find out the update and the man in the service dept informed me I would either need to buy a new engine for my mower or just buy a new mower! WTH! The man sounded like he had a few screws loose himself! My husband and I picked it up, brought it home and he was able to remove the bolt himself and went to Lowes and purchased 2 more bolts for a $1.00 and it was fixed! Northern Tools deserves NO STARS!

Wow! What an experience! Went in. Bought a $100 item. Took said item home. Item was defective so I returned the item the next day. I asked for the $98 in cash(which always happens in any Home Depot, Lowes, or even Harbor Freight), so that I might go to their OTHER STORE and purchase the item, avoiding a delay in reimbursement to my card. The cashier told me that couldnt happen, and that she didnt even have that much cash in her drawer, that it had to go on my card, which could take a while. What if I had paid cash? Would they have just refused my refund?So, my experience: Northern Tool, sold me junk, didnt have a replacement in stock, issued a refund, but lost my business in the process.

I bought a big Compressor, and the guys there helped me think about how to load it, and then they helped me load it. They went above and beyond, and were pleasant to be around as well. I was super impressed, and will go back in a heart beat.

Old dude Tim needs to retire and keep his bad attitude self at home or maybe attend some customer service classes. Looking at previous reviews it looks like Im not the only person that thinks he has an attitude problem and no customer service skills. If you dont like dealing with people why would you work in retail? I have been to the store twice and he has had a bad attitude twice I dont think there will be a 3rd visit.

Good prices

Took my chainsaw in to simple get the blade sharpened. Told me it would take 1-2 business days. I left it there for 4 weeks and they didnt even touch my equipment let alone call me tell me they couldnt get to it. Still wanted to charge me for no service being done. I will never service any tools there or purchase any items from them again

I bought a tank sprayer and then a bigger pump. When I tried to put the bigger pump it only came with one fitting for in and out hose.I went back to the store to asked what fitting I need to get and the manager told me Im not a mechanic. I felt like I went through the twilight zone door.I returned both Items and anything else I recently got. They do have a good return policy.

AAAAAAAAA++++++++ Customer service and price for my new mower! I walked into this store and immediately had two young men helping me. The mower I wanted (mid range push mower) was on sale, and the first young man checked to see if he could offer a further discount and he knocked another $50.00 off since it was the last one... and I bought the display.The directions were not real clear for me and this mower is very different from my old Toro. I called the next day telling Dustin (who helped me make the purchase) that it wouldnt start... something had to be done first. Dustin offered to come a few miles to my house to get me up an running. He stayed until all my questions were answered and made sure it was cutting as it should.Youre NOT going to get this kind of service or knowledge at a big box store. Northern Tool rocks... I will be back. And thank you Dustin!

Finally returned them and they credited the money back to my card. but its been 2 days and still no money. wish they would have explained that to me. now my boot money is in limbo and I need new boots. Employee, Tim, needs to learn something about customer relations. They only had one in stock in the package, we needed 2, although they did have the display. I asked if the display could be purchased, he said yes, but a $50 assembly fee would be incurred. $50 to poke and tighten 8 bolts is beyond exorbitant.And when we commented on the poor condition of the packaging of the in stock item, he became somewhat combative, telling us he didnt need to sell anything to us.Pretty poor experience.
