Hurst Music (in addition to attributes like great location and exceptional customer service) is THE BEST place for the vast majority of instrument repair in the state - period. Band instruments and orchestra instruments and the like, you will simply not do any better. I have sent students with violins and such, and also one with an absolutely ancient trumpet - all came back perfect! The highest of quality available. In addition, the staff is extremely knowledgeable and will get you what you need, when you need it, at the best price possible. 5 stars all the way!

We have been using Hurst Music for all of our music needs for several years now. The staff is extremely professional and always helpful. A few years ago, my son decided he wanted to play the drums. He started taking drum lesson with Andrew at the store. Andrew is an amazing teacher and always extremely patient with my son. I highly recommend Hurst Music.

Hurst Music has a very knowledgeable staff that students and band directors have been using for years in Lexington. Many of their staff are former educators and band directors. They know school music! They also have the best band and instrument repair in the state.Being a musician I know that many pros use Hurst for their instrument repair. Hurst has one of the largest lesson facilities in Lexington, and the teachers are all experienced pros.Hurst is well established and will be around for a while!

Was visiting Lex for a day trip and thought I’d bring my guitar along to get the strings replaced. When I first brought my guitar in, he said it would be ready in about 3 days, which didn’t work for me. When I told him we were just visiting today, he said he would see what he can do... in less than an hour he had the guitar cleaned and polished with brand new strings! Great customer service!

Our family has shopped at Hurst for years. My son started playing violin in elementary school and we rented his instrument through Hurst. When I asked if they could point me in the right direction for private violin lessons, they put me in touch with Dr. Ceo. He’s an amazing teacher and lessons occurred right in the store. And, they hosted twice yearly recitals for students.Despite all their help, violin wasn’t the instrument for my son. Hurst helped us out again, putting me in touch with Bryan Henry for piano and Andrew Grigson for drums, both of whom are fantastic. Once again Hurst offered a lessons area that was convenient for everyone. While he enjoyed piano, he LOVED drums. When it came time to purchase a kit, Andrew and the team at Hurst helped us out again. Anytime he needed something, Hurst has been there. Thanks to their musical knowledge and amazing staff, Hurst will continue to be our go-to music store.

I went in earlier today to buy a Violin and it was a great experience. I cant remember they guys name who help me. I think it was Andrew? Tall guy with a beard and man bun. Super nice and very helpful. There was an older gentlemen there as well who was really nice to my daughter (3). Really personable and comfortable experience. Would recommend to anyone!

I have been taking my kids instruments to Hurst for years. They are always very nice and professional. They try to get your instrument fixed while youre in town instead of having to come back to Lexington another day. Ive only had minor repairs but Im usually only waiting thirty minutes +/-. I cant say enough about how helpful and knowledgeable they are.

Knowledgeable staff, great products, bought our daughter her first real flute. We had purchased her a flute 2 ys ago off the internet for pretty cheap that got her through to see if she was sure she was going to keep on pursuing the flute. She decided she was going to so we come to Hurst to purchase one. Great quality, free services and financing available if you need it.

This is a smaller music store when compared to somewhere like Guitar Center, so they may not have what you need in stock. They seem to be a little overpriced as well, at least from what Ive experienced.

I needed new strings on my daughters violin and we had a day before her next practice. They were so nice and got it fixed for us!

Ive got a mixed review. The service is generally friendly and helpful, and they have usually had what I needed for myself and for my middle schooler who plays the French Horn. However, when I asked for help picking out strings for a 12-string guitar, I found out when I got home that the clerk had no idea what he was talking about and had given me totally wrong strings.
