I recently purchased my 2019 Dodge Charger from Abernethy and I have to say I was beyond impressed by the team that they have there. It was a super quick and easy buying a car through them!I came in told them exactly what I was looking for and they got to work on my trade while I was on the test drive. I would strongly recommend anyone to do business with the folks at Abernathy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. I was looking for a used car on a Sunday evening and reached out to them online and received an immediate reply on Monday morning from Raven. I explained I was interested in the car but was several hours away and needed to know more about the condition of the vehicle. Raven and the Abernathy team were able to provide several representative pictures of the cars condition. They even allowed me the opportunity to have an over the phone discussion with the service team member that actually conducted the vehicle inspection. I decided to make the trip from Columbus, Ohio to Lincolnton, NC and was not disappointed. I met Raven and the entire staff at Abernathy and was impressed with the level customer service I received as well as much needed bottle of water. I was provided the opportunity, again to speak with the Service Team member that inspected the vehicle and completely go through the vehicles condition while he was present. The team gave my Dad and I as much time and space as we needed to test drive the vehicle. The staff was totally transparent about this car and its previous experiences, letting me know, they are all just true car lovers. Simply said, the exchange of car and cash seemed secondary to the experience of providing the right vehicle to the right person. The Abernathy logo, still on the vehicle when it was originally sold in 2006, will always have a home on my Jeep. Truly enjoyed my time and experience in Lincolnton with the Abernathy team. Very nice people. They showed a lot of interest in me before the sale without being too pushy. I live in Virginia, but I’m from NC and it was nice to deal with these North Carolinians. When I arrived, my car was sitting out front shiny and clean . The paperwork process went super smoothly and required very little effort from me. I also loved the fact that they were able to me me where I need to be on my monthly payments. I would definitely drive the 2 1/2 hours again to buy from them.

Traded in a 20 nissan for a 21 challenger. Was told my after market rims wouldnt affect the price, I put the factory nissan rims in the trunk and told them I would be back to pick up my after market rims. Talked to 2 diffrent people a bout it. Just got informed that they didnt know the rims were part of the deal. EDIT: Gotta hand it to these guys, the rim fiasco was a cluster f. But they came thru and kept their word. Had the new challenger for over a month and the wife loves it. The head guy, mike, was a straight up dude and kept his word. Now if only i could get the finance company to stop taking out payments on the car I traded in I would be completely satisfied. Been on hold with regional finance for going on days now.

They never have loaner cars as the warranty promised youll be put on a waiting list and wait 2 weeks before anything happens. They also offered me 4k less than what I payed for the car THAT HAS BEEN FAULTY SINCE THE DAY IT WAS PURCHASED. My total review is definitely do your RESEARCH on the car you buy from them because they wont show you all the information. I didnt get the FULL carfax report until I purchased the vehicle and realized its been having the same problem for 25k miles, Im assuming thats why the previous owner sold. Very dissatisfied with this place and their service department. The said car has been in their shop 3 times now going onto the 4th time in a few days. Ive spoke to the GM as well hes aware of the problem and is the one that offered me less than I payed for a car that hasnt ran right since day 2, he even acknowledged that we starting calling about the issue right away.I was totally happy and thought I got a amazing deal on a car but now after 3 and a half months of dealing with the same issue and no fixes I see why it was a good deal.Also VERY fun being cussed its to early to deal with my shit and disrespected telling me im a kid and I can find another dealship to fix the car BY THE SERVICE MANAGER. I had a 10:00 a.m. appointment to have my wifes car a/c checked and recharged. Plus run a diagnostic to see why the CHECK ENGINE light stays on. Was told the a/c would take about 3 hours. Came back after 4 hours. The car was parked in the back lot. I asked what was the story with the car. Was told,they hadnt gotten to it yet. Finally took the car home around 5:45 P.M.

We have been trying to purchase a ¾ ton truck. Initially we went to Paramount Ford where the young salesman just wasn’t experienced. We then went to Steve White Motors beginning of 2020 and test drove a Ram. The difference between the two was night and day. We loved the way it drives. So we went back to Steve White Motors the end of 2020 during the big sale. However the salesman nor his boss contacted us back despite giving their word.We looked up Ram dealerships and found Abernathy Chrysler Dodge Jeep. This dealership will be our go to place for any car or truck purchase. Mr. Bob Koehler and his team are highly professional, knowledgeable individuals. If you are in “the near to retirement age” or older, they do business as it was done in the ‘80’s. They don’t waste your time nor theirs. There is no hours of ego stroking that our Mom received at Modern Nissan taking 9 hours to make a purchase for a car on their lot. They know their products which made us very happy.We ordered the Ram 2500 4 x 4 exactly as we wanted and it was accomplished quickly. Mr. Koehler asked how we wanted to use the truck and quickly found the levels to fill our needs. He explained everything on the different options and we were in and out under 2 hours. Due to the pandemic, we just have to wait.If you’re in need of a vehicle, we highly recommend the Abernethy Dealership in Lincolnton! You can’t go wrong. We are hoping their Service Department has the same ethics and professionalism.

My wife and I went out to start our search for a new family vehicle. We wanted to buy a car within the next four months. We didnt seek a salesperson out but just wanted to look around. Our experience at Abernethy was great when we bought back on March 4th! Mike Lovelace was nothing but exceptional! Personally the thought of buying a car stressed my husband and I out! Last time we were in a car dealership we were beyond stressed with how much we were put through the ringer and it ended with us walking out with us being chased by the sales associate! Everything Mike said and did was 100% for our benefit and he was completely up front with everything! He made the whole process of getting a car a breeze! I truly was amazed how easy he made the process! He knew how hard it was for us to get everything into place and how precious our time was while both my husband and I work, having a brand new baby, and our toddler who’s in preschool! Went by there earlier last month to buy a 2016 Mazda 6. Recently had a bad run in with a previous dealer who sold the car I was planning to buy without notifying me. After looking around for another vehicle, I happened to stumble across Abernethy. I called yesterday to see if the car was available. Spoke with Mike L., who stated the car was ready and that he would hold the vehicle.I showed up today and Mike kept his promise and the vehicle was still there. Went for a ride with another man named Michael. Both gentlemen were very friendly and welcoming about buying the car.Michael answered the questions I had and made the buying process a breeze. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST dealership I have ever purchased a vehicle with. I bought a 2020 Jeep Compass on May 1, 2020. Within 6 months my air conditioner stopped working. I called and spoke with Samantha and she scheduled me an appointment on a Saturday for my air conditioner to be fixed, along with an oil change. After waiting more than 2 hours, she came to me in the lobby and said one of the modules in the radio “goofed” and this is why my air stopped working. She stated that everything in the car runs through the radio. She also stated that the service technician reset everything and that it is now working perfectly. I was told that if this happened again, a new radio would have to be ordered and my radio would have to be replaced. Ok, fine. At least we have a solution, right? The Tuesday following, my air conditioner stopped working again. While it was not working, I called Abernathy to let them know I was on my way there and that the air conditioning had stopped working. When I arrived one of the ladies in the service dept came to the car and felt that the air was not working. She had one of the hand held diagnostic test machines so she hooked it up to the car to see if any codes would come up showing errors. It showed nothing. A few minutes later Samantha (from my previous visit) came and said it was showing the same codes as it showed from my visit on Saturday. They told me they would have to order the new radio. I let her know I would need a loaner to drive to get to work and back while they had my car. I was told they did not have one available and that they could call me when it comes in and they have a loaner for me to drive during repairs. Samantha told me it would only take about an hour for them to replace the radio once it came in. I let her know that I could not be there in time from work to be able to wait on the car for a sameday repair. The service dept. closes at 6:30 and I could not be there before 6. She agreed we could work this out. We finally had a plan. Ok. We were getting somewhere. Samantha at the Abernathy dealership called me on Thursday to let me know they had the radio. I was also told that they were behind due to a recent power outage and my car would not be able to be worked on until the following Monday. I asked to make sure they would have a loaner I could drive and she again told me it would only take about an hour. I, again went through my explanation of not being able to get there from work with enough time for them to do the repairs same day. She told me I could drop my car off Monday evening after work and she would have a loaner for me to drive. I dropped the car off and on Tuesday Around 10 or 11 am Samantha called and told me it was ready. I picked the car up and while driving I realize this is not the same radio and it looks different. It doesn’t show the temperature, no sirius xm & no apple play option. When You turn the car off, FIAT, comes across my radio in red. MY CAR IS A JEEP COMPASS! My husband calls them the next day and the service dept tells him its the correct radio and they did not see any issues. He told them it was a completely different radio and that it says FIAT on the screen and he was told someone would call him back. He never got a call. He calls them back, when they never call him & asks for a manager. He gets Shawn Kniceley and Shawn says we need to give it until Friday so it can reset. This makes absolutely no sense. He asks for Shawn’s name and Shawn would only give his first name. I guess he doesn’t realize his name is on the website. He asks to speak with Shawn’s Regional manager and he tells him he needs to call the 800 number in the car’s manual book. My husband is adamant about getting the phone number so Shawn finally gives it to him. I am now dealing with a 3rd party to get my NEW car fixed! I will NEVER recommend this business to ANYONE. They don’t care about the customers. They only care about the sale. Once they have their money, you are basically on your own if something breaks or stops working. Even when under warranty!

I went to Abernethy for extended warranty repairs on my Jeep. Robert in service was outstanding! Promptly found the problem and repaired. During my wait, I found a new Dodge Journey and ended up leaving in it! Mike Lovelace was great to work with. No pressure and so accommodating. Mike Long went to work and put together an offer that made us both happy! Richard Kolbe in finance closed my deal and was also great to work with. They have earned my business going forward and I hope anyone reading this will at least stop by and give them an opportunity to earn yours! I’d give them 10 stars if I could.

Dean Ivestor was wonderful to work with. He made the buying experience stress free and the dealership has a comforting, laid back atmosphere, that you dont usually experience with most dealerships. I went to every dealership in western N.C. to get a slipping clutch repaired on my 2018 Ram 3500 with only 17,309 miles on it . I was told that the clutch was a wear item and only had a 12,000 mile warranty. Abernethy Dodge Ram service manger Shawn listened to my complaints and diagnosed it and agreed it was pressure plate failure and honored my warranty and replaced clutch pressure plate,flywheel and throught bearing under warranty. From first talking with the service manager Shawn to the service adviser Ray I received Truly Exceptional Service and got my 2018 Ram repaired under warranty! But Michael made it a joy with absolutely no stress. He knew we were looking for a low mileage high quality certified used car. Loved working with Mike Lovelace at Abernathy and found him to be very professional and not like a typical salesperson. I absolutely dislike the car buying process and corressponded with 10 or so dealerships, spent countless time researching, negotiating and driving to different lots before finally making my purchase with Abernathy.I think what sets Mike apart is his traditional method of building a relationship with you as a customer and expressing a legitimate interest in trying to earn your business. He is really friendly and not pushy at all. I had many questions and there were several times that if he wouldnt know the answer, he would research it and call you back within the hour. Even post-purchase, I had a question and he walked over with me on the phone and had the service manager address my question. He also asked the right questions to see if I could qualify for any factory incentives (student, employer, military, etc.).The Finance person Mike (different person) was joy to deal with and didnt even try to push other warranties on me. He stated what they had and stated he really wanted to ensure we had a pleasant buying experience. Its definitely not like a typical dealership with the tactics or pitches (although there are still some). Hard to articulate but you dont get the feeling that you are just a sale. Everyone there says hello to you and you get a glimpse of southern hospitality for sure.By far, I would say this was the best experience in buying a car and if I am in the market for another vehicle, I would HIGHLY consider them first. Reading the other reviews here is what made me call them first and I am glad I did.
