I have been a loyal customer of Firestone Livingston for 5 years now. Even though there are closer places, the staff and team are super friendly, professional and responsive. My car is over 100,000 miles and they did the necessary work in a timely manner and fair price. Elijah their new assistant manager is also a great add to the location .
Had a very unexpected and unpleasant experience talking to the manager at the counter today. Needed to get a new tire and was that if I didn’t have an appointment I would not be able to be served. The person claimed that he had 30 appointments today and 1 mechanic. I noticed 3 mechanics working on cars and upon pointing it out he claimed one is a sweeper and the other was something that I couldn’t even understand what was his function. I repeat 3 worked on cars inside the bay. When I asked to get an appointment for 5:30pm for tomorrow 11/1, although the place is open until 7pm he would not accommodate the appointment. The moment I said that I’m surprised by this unwillingness to accommodate in reasonable time and that I will check with corporate office, he angrily said that he will not even continue the discussion and will not deal with me.Being a Livingston resident for many years and from time to time if I needed a tire replaced, your Livingston NJ location was always used by myself and my wife. Based on this unfortunate and most unprofessional behavior of someone put in charge of dealing with customers, I will not attempt to do business any longer with Firestone and will encourage my friends and neighbors to refrain from dealing with Firestone in Livingston NJ.
One tire replacement with appointment - more then 3 hours. Very fast and reliable. Will recommend.

Buyer beware.Long story short I had my car towed in because I thought the brakes were bad and I am no mechanic. This was last Sunday. Sunday afternoon around 3 I received a call telling me that they had not looked at my car yet and that they would call me in the morning. 9 am I called to see the status of my car I was told that it was being worked on and that the technician would call me back. About an hour later someone called me and advised me that my brakes were complete to the tune of almost 800.00. Long story short I never authorized the work . When I was on the phone I told them I never authorized the work and that we needed a payment plan. When I got to the location since I did not have all the money the manager and assistant manager came up with a plan. They decided that it would be best to remove the new brakes and put the old ones back on. So I will close with this question to anyone who reads this review. If my brakes were so bad that both front and rear needed to be changed then why would you risk my life by putting bad brakes back on my car. Or is it that my brakes really were able to be fixed without replacing and you just replaced them anyway. Needless to say it was a mess. I have written a letter to corporate and to the email listed in all the other bad reviews and have yet to receive a response. So in closing buyer beware
I got appointment online and everything was fine till I get to the store and they told me appointment is booked But they are fully booked in a store and I have to come other day or drop off my car!!!basically their website is an a scam to take you to the shop Without do anything for you.
Easy to reach Firestone location with plenty of on-site parking. Very clean and well-maintained facility. Staff were all friendly and professional. They fixed my flat tire quickly at a very reasonable cost. Highly recommended.

I love this Firestone location- the staff is really nice, attentive and listen to what youre needs are. They dont drive sales down your throat or try to rip you off with unnecessary services. Theyre not as booked & busy as other locations Ive been to so its nice to be in and out for what you need done.

This place gave me lot of problems, they stripped my oil filter cap, and they refused to fix it, also i bought a new tire with them, they replaced it, and one day later i noticed the screw cap of the wheels was missed, i didn’t returned there to ask to don’t be stressed like the last time i had a problem with them.

He immediately called and lied to his manager about me shouting to cover up his behavior - I guess me questioning why he hangs up on customers is not appropriate...-- Called manager Tomer Carmiel - without even investigating he supported Mark behavior - what an inadequate management style...--Escalated to Firestone corporate a formal complaint - promised twice that theyll call me - no one called...--Thats that on Firestone customer service!!--Suggest to go elsewhere - unless you like your mechanic bullying you as a customer!
Had a coupon for the Lifetime alignment! I can come back unlimited, and ask them to realign my car, free of charge, for the life of the car. No Brainer!

This was an absolute nightmare!! I was there until 10 pm because they lost my car keys. My keys were not found they had to call a locksmith to make a key. My house keys were also on that ring. I had to wait in my car until 3am for a family member that couldnt leave their night work shift to let me in. I dont know how they could be so irresponsible!
This Firestone location recently had a store manager change. The new manager, as of January 1, 2020 is Tomer (Tom). He took excellent care of me while I was in the shop. He was respectful of my time and budget. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone. Go see Tom and support his new store!

Unprofessional Mechanic. I have been to many mechanic. They are one of the worst mechanic that I have experience. First, they provide misleading information about my battery. Worst thing is the mechanic left my battery unplug. When I shut down my car it was unable to start again. They have no ideas how dangerous if someone driving on the high way with a battery unplug because the mechanic didnt do the job probably. If a small things like this unable to do well. I am not trust them to fix my car.

I was extremely happy to find my local Firestone store was open on Labor Day so I could get my car serviced before heading back to school. My oil light had just come on the day before and I knew I needed a new battery so I did both at the same time. This is such a busy time of year for me so I was glad I was able to get my car taken care of when it was convenient for me.

Worst experience possible Took car gave $262 estimate Picked up car that they said was fixed and test driven on my way home going 65 mph on highway power steering failed and all warning lights came on. Then told me new repair $2000 Even after second and third attempt they FAILED. This started as a simple gasket crack into so much more after try driving car home. They claim no fault. DONT GO THERE
Liars and trying to rip you off with unnecessary services, especially when you talk by phone. Besides that, the service and parts are unreasonable expensive. Stay away!

Very good experience at the Livingston Firestone -8/8/18Brought a car in that was shaking at higher speeds. They balanced and did an alignment and now the car runs smooth.I would highly recommend this Firestone. Store manager did a great job of explaining the job to be done.
Awful experience. I made an appointment for a free brake inspection as advertised on their website, got there 5 minutes late at 3:20 p.m. because I was coming from work.The first older gentleman, was welcoming and nice, took my keys and I sat down patiently.Long story short, I sat there until 4:35 with my car still sitting in their lot waiting for the brake inspection.During my time while sitting there, no one ever assured me as to how much longer I would have to wait.I finally got up, approached the counter, addressed the guy as Sir, nicely asked the clerk, a younger tall white guy with a brunette hair cut and dark eyes (Mark?) seemed very smug and standoffish as I asked for the return of my car keys.He Handed me the keys as he looked away hurriedly to handle another task, if my hands did not meet his hands right that second, they would have fell to the floor.Not even an insincere apology from him, he did not even look me in my eyes.Very weird energy from him. He looked at me as if I was a bother.I dont throw this word around loosley, Im Black; perhaps he was not fond of my color..I dunno? Im very respectful to everybody, so his attitude was off putting. (Shrug)As I was sitting there waiting prior to leaving, He seemed nicer and gracious to other customers who happened to be White. But I will never be returning here again.
I just had my vehicle serviced at Firestone and again I am very happy with their work. I was a little pressed for time and the team accommodated me and got the work done fast! The timeframe to get the work done was exactly as they quoted me. They are very courteous and always go out of their way to do a great job at this shop! I also want to mention that I observed a belligerent customer getting loud with the Service Manager of the location. The customer in this case was not “right” and he was very rude to the manager to the point where it seemed the customer was getting aggressive! I was VERY impressed to see the Manager stayed calm, respectful and listened to that customers complaints never turning negative himself and was polite!! He even tried to suggest ways to accommodate the customer!! That manager should get a raise!!
I had an appointment for 4pm and my car didnt even get into the bay until a little over an hour later. it wasnt even busy, there was two people ahead of me. The fix took 5 minutes. The wait itself isnt what the issue was, its that it seems like making the appointment was pointless. It would have been nice if I was at least told they were short-staffed, or something was taking longer than expected, or something. I was about to ask what the wait was when I saw my car taken. The service was perfectly fine, but not thrilled overall.
Really happy with the detail in the level of service I received. I felt like they did everything they could to help save me money and diagnose the problem without charging for every little thing. They wanted to figure out the problem as much as I did and I felt like they took care of my car like it was one of their own.
I recently brought my car in for service and was very happy with the whole show! They gave a reasonable quote over the phone (less than half that of another local garage), and despite there being more labor for them then expected, they stuck to their quote! They didnt b.s. me about needing a million other things etc.
On my way to work, I had an issue with my rear brakes that left me with my car limping to different shops to try and get a same day repair. Luckily this Firestone was able to book me late and was very honest with their timing. It was latel in the day so I got a ride home and the next day Mark called and gave me the details on the issue and my options. Very professional and upfront about what they can and cant do. I wanted to do the work myself but at the end of the day, I needed the car back quickly. I pulled the trigger with them and couldnt be happier with the work they performed. Thank you Firestone for taking care of our car when the unexpected happened!
Terrible service. I brought my car to change oil/filter and tire rotation. I am used to mark the tires to make sure they do the rotation so I do not end having issues with my tires overtime. When I checked at home, I noticed that they did not rotate the tires. I also open the hood to check the engine and found a ring inside the hood left there after they changed the filter. I went back to complain about these two issues and the only thing they were willing to do was to put the ring back but I do not have a way to confirm since it is not easy to check in my car. I would recommend if you go with this service, check that they actually do for the work they charge you. I will not come back.

UGH! Had an appointment - I needed a new rim for my old car. Told the guy he could look at it and order the rim and I would come back another day to have it put on (they dont have rims in stock.) Hour later he finally got it on the lift where it sat for another 45 minutes before he come out and told me I did not need a rim I need new tires!!! $550. They had not yet taken the tire off the rim to check to see if it was bad. Knowing that I needed a rim I told him to just clean up the rim so I could get home. From the waiting area I saw the mechanic take the tire off the rim (FINALLY) and carry it back to the desk and tell the guy that I needed a new rim but the guy told him to just clean it up. When I went up to pay another 20 minutes later the guy at the desk did not mention what the mechanic said. I asked him if I needed.a new rim (just to see what he would say) and he said hopefully the tire will hold air. So over two hours later my same old rim was back and I am hoping it hold on for a while. Dude just wanted to sell me tires..... UGH

My husband brought his car here for an oil change, service was smooth but as he was driving the car back home he noticed that the skid plates were not put back in correctly and came off! Dragging! I drove back to Firestone about the situation and they can’t do anything unless the car is brought back in, didn’t look concerned at all!!! Mind you, he couldn’t even drive the car more than 7mph. Took him 20mins to drive half 1 mile! Is there no quality check done before the vehicle is released?! Stay away from this place!!

It may be cheap, but if they cant respect me as a professional, they havent earned me as their professional customer.I called and was told my best bet was to drop my car off or schedule an appointment. I chose the appointment for Monday and told them Id come at 1 pm when Im on lunch and arrived at 12:55. I was under the impression that they keep their appointment times, yet my car wasnt on the lift until 1:40 because at least four cars that were dropped off were serviced before mine.I was one of two people waiting yet it took 75 minutes for an oil change. Either do the other cars when the non-lazy people with appointments arent waiting. Or at the very least inform me of the backup instead of insisting, youll be up next this time, I promise. I understand that things may get backed up, but those who have scheduled a time should be given priority over a ready for pick up sometime between noon and 3. There are plenty of other service shops in the area that appreciate your time, and I will be unlikely to return in the future.

All Auto places are shaddy to say the least because there is no other word to describe them. No one is an expert in all fields, its impossible. So, that is why we take our cars to the auto body to help with tune-ups, oil changes, tires, etc. This Firestone is not the Best place I have ever been to, but it CERTAINLY is not the worst! I believe they do quality work and give you fair and reasonable prices. We take our cars there for the most part out of convenience and they are usually very responsive. One time we were quoted a cheaper price somewhere else for some AC work and so we took it to the other place to get worked on. Other than that, if you are honest with them, they usually are with you.

Im not sure if 2½ hours wait is normal for this location just to replace one tire when I had an appointment but Im not happy about it. I used to do this kind of work when I was a little younger and it never took me that long to replace one tire. Prices are about standard and receptionist was polite but those are my only positives.
Cost me replacing a new oil pan $350 after an oil change here.I went this store for an oil change at summer of 2013 for my 2000 Honda Odyssey.Firestone said I need a new screw for the oil pan oil draining hole. charged me $7 for a screw. Few months later, I found my minivan had oil leak, I went to a garage I used to go, lift the car, I can see oil coming out of the draining hole. he said this new screw stripped the oil draining hole, and need to replace oil pan, Cost me $350. no more oil leak now.I will never go back this store again.
My wife and I are “ Working Folks” And we were recommended to bring our smart car to this particular location. We live in Passaic, They did our front rotors and Valve cover gaskets. We had an issue with our muffler. At the moment we couldn’t afford it. Well we get a call from Mr Vorhees and he tells my wife to bring up the car We will figure it out. Well, for a fraction of what Mercedes Smart told us these men fixed my wife’s BABY her smart car. We were treated with the utmost respect ( My wife is dark skinned I am Latino) IT DID NOT MAKE A BIT OF DIFFERENCE. This is a totally professional firestone and I will continue to bring my personal car and my wife’s car for future work . We are extremely grateful for the work the entire crew performed. Just to fix a punctured tire. I called in ahead of time, was told it would be an hour wait when I arrived. An hours gone by and my car still hasnt been seen. Horrible front desk service, they push you to drop off and appointments dont matter. 3 other customers in waiting room complaining about appointments not being kept cause walk-ins are ahead if them. Not good business.

Caution is needed when you go here. These guys are masters at the art of taking your money for nothing! To change my headlight just the lightbulb would cost me $110 just for the labor and $13 for the lightbulb itself. I had to change the right passenger side light bulb. They said in order to get to the headlight they would have to take apart some of the car and that’s why the labor was so high, they also suggested changing the left one since it would give them access to both headlights. I figured might as well, it’s only going to be another $13 to also replace the other side at the same time, I might as well write, well wrong. Just a few short months later the left light bulb stopped working I go back there under warranty for the lightbulb, And they give me the runaround saying that I have to replace the entire headlight which would’ve cost me $150. Reason was because there was something wrong with it and that when they try to put in a new lightbulb it shorted out, that would explain why I still was missing a light even though I was under warranty. All that ment was that they didn’t even look or try or probably do anything and just try to sell me something new. So what do I do? I went to the BP gas station down the street got the lightbulb change for $30. I watched the guy do it, he took one screw out didn’t have to take anything else off, popped the headlight out, unscrewed the back of it, took out the old put in the new lightbulb and that was the end of it. I ended up giving him a $10 tip because he just save me $110 that I would have payed Firestone for NOTHING! I don’t think I’ll even go back here for a simple oil change anymore, just can’t trust them!

Ive been going to this Firestone since 2000 never ever had a problem they always took care of my problem today I drop my car off at 700 am here it is 600 PM they didnt even look at my car sad very sad over the years i noticed things but I see they have new management and its horrible they just lost lifelong customer update 730 never looked at my car not even a phonecall

This place needs to get their act together. We had come outside to 2 flat tires - we called ahead and gave them the make, model and tire size of the vehicle and they told us to stop by anytime - so far so good.We dropped the car off, they gave us a price and let us know we could pick it up later. They call us 2 hours later to let us know that because the car is 4WD they need to match the tires and they would need to order them. Dont you think this is something they would ask up front, considering they ask for the Make and model of the vehicle?Because they didnt have the tires and the next day was memorial day, wed have to pick it up on Tuesday- fine, no problem. I get a call Tuesday morning from the manager, who seemingly has no clue why the car is there, lets me know they have the tires in house and would have it done shortly. He then calls me.back 45 minutes later to let me know they actually have to order the tires because it is 4WD drive - yes, I knew this already.I then get a call from a different individual to let me know that they ordered the tires but they are more expensive than the original quote - wouldnt you think to tell me this 2 days ago? Fine, no problem just get it done.He then calls me back to tell me the car is done and I can come get it. He again calls me back to tell me that the car is not ready and needs an alignment - duh, you just changed 2 tires. Let me guess, you didnt quote it in? Nope. Finally gives me the final price and has to call me back again when it is ready. Great well be there shortly.We arrive and I have a Firestone card, so I figured Id just put it on there, as anything over 250 is interest free for 6 months. The individual tells me I dont have a card and would need tonregister. I asked him to check again, as I had just logged onto my account earlier that day to see if they had the zero interest special on my account - I have him the account number. He told me it was inactive - fine, Ill sign up again. As soon as I do, the credit company calls him to let him know my account is active, like I had just told him.Everyone was really nice and pleasant, which is why I didnt give this 1 star- but, they do not have their stuff together, at all.

I have been bringing my cars here for service for several years. The team is respectful and trustworthy; they always treat me and my cars well.
Please dont ever go here. These con artists charged me $77.50 for a 10-minute vehicle inspection where all they did was hook up a diagnostic machine and put a sticker on the windshield. $75 of it was for labor cost! $75 for 10 minutes of labor where they didnt even have to unscrew a single bolt on the car. I will never ever go back to this place again and neither should you.
Found them via TireRack, called ahead - twice - to confirm they can do the job, time and cost. Had wheels shipped there...upon my arrival I was told they do no have lug nuts for my popular Chrystler car...and sent me on a goose chase. Upon arriving with the lug nuts, they then tried to charge me over $800 for TPMS sensors (normally cost $25), lots of additional fees and at the end TOLD ME THEY COULDNT INSTALL THEM ON MY VEHICLE and said I should try another place?!? Its like going to a grocery store and having them tell you they dont sell milk and the bread will cost you a few hundred dollars! Not to mention the manager seemed absolutely clueless about what planet he was even on. STAY AWAY! So many better, knowledgeable and capable tire installation companies out there.

The staff was extremely rude. I overheard the manger making racist comments about another patron that was waiting on service. I called to make an appointment and was told it wasnt necessary I should just come in. When I got there I was told to come back in a few hours for an appointment. EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL.
