This is truly one of livonias little known secrets... My family and all of my friends families have been enjoying the wonderfulness that hand-d-dip dairy barn has been providing us all for sooooo many years!! So if you are in the area and youre looking for any kind of soft serve delight, you need to stop in and try it out!

This is my favorite ice cream place. The prices are fair and the Ive cream is good. The only downside is the limited parking, but I usually dont have a problem.

My go to soft served Ice cream place in the warmer months. They are in a great location and easy to walk to from the nearby neighborhoods. The service is fast, prices fair, and ice cream tasty. They have all the usual favorites and if you are daring ask for something from the graveyard. They are cash only so hit the ATM before coming. parking is limited, but you can park at the rec center and walk from there easily.

Soft serve ice cream and several flavors of Dole Whip available. They make sundaes and shapes and flurries and slashes. A Livonia classic. You will always find a line here on a hot day.

Deliciously place I assume its local but it was the best ice cream I had in a while .P.S : when I went it was cash only kind of a bummer but maybe their machine was down ?_shrug_

Really only wish they had better parking and maybe move the table on the west side away from the dumpster.

They up charge for everything. Ordered a hot fudge sundae. All they put is hot fudge. No whipped cream. No cherry. Thats not a sundae if you charge for everything separately. Other than that they are good. Definitely used to be better though.

Its amazing the ice cream is cold and you can get candy in your flurries it just makes it so good

I had never been to the Handy Dip before. Although there was no line and I walked right up to the counter the kid behind the counter had to keep confirming my order. Another kid making the sundaes kept confirming everyones ice cream again and again. When my order came it was still wrong but didnt discover it until I got home. Not sure I will go back as their staff is flaky and there are other ice cream shops in the area that do a better job

We have visited the HDD DBarn for over 25 years. No idea if same ownership, but weve never had a Bad experience. Note that it can be very busy at times & actual seating (outdoors only) is limited, as is parking. Usually end up in a neighboring business lot on weekends.

So sad theyre seasonal! Super friendly staff too. Dole whip is great and my kids love the juicy freezes! 🤤❤️

Still about as good as it gets in the area. Ive enjoyed a peach malt a few times this summer since I was a kid. This has been my first one of the year.

Nice to see where my boyfriend used you get ice cream all the time, but the employees must have been new because neither of our flurries were mixed very well. All in all, nice place, good ice cream, benches to sit on... Solid okay.

I love that they have baby sized ice cream. Perfect for toddlers! Their flurries are fantastic!! Particularly the strawberry shortcake flurry. Theres almost always a line in the summer, but it always moves quickly.

Han-D-Dip Dairy Barn has been a Livonia tradition for as long as I can remember. I came here as a young boy for summer evening treats, and I bring my own family here for dessert.

Great deserts. Parking is an issue.

Love this small little home town ice cream shop. Great treats. Family friendly. They have some small picnic tables out for the little ones now too!

Rated it only 3 stars just because my experience was with very simple cone and shake order. It was a hot day and it turned messy. Had to constantly ask for napkins. It is a cute ice cream stand in town. I think you need to be local to understand what is on the menu, which is a bunch of papers or cards attached to the windows.

Amazing ice cream with hundreds of combinations. Its been Livonias local spot for many years and they always live up to their name. I did notice they cleaned up the back of the restaurant this year, which was far more pleasing to the eye. Great service, great people, great food.

One of my favorite ice cream places. I used to go here as a kid around Spree time every year. Now I take my kids! Its soft serve only but theyve got as many options as Dairy Queen if not more.

Definitely worth the stop.... They probably have the best custard icecream in the area... Will definitely be going back for more.

Ice cream was good. I had the Strawberry shortcake flurry and it had real strawberries. The frozen banana my daughter got was hand dipped and so yummy. Everything was reasonably priced. I was dissapointed to find they didnt serve hard ice cream. Also, they only accept cash. Overall, a good experience. We will be back.

Really good ice cream. I usually get some type of sundae and their servings are generous. I used to work down the street so I came often thru the summer. I dont get to frequent the place too often as I changed jobs but still try to come here when I can

This place stays packed with lots of people in line. Great ice cream. They are pretty quick at getting people through the line. There needs to be more seating outside though.

We come to handy dip 2-3 times a week. The last few times a young guy has waited on us, VERY DISAPPOINTED!He messed up our order both times, (5 items) and the young Asian girl took our money then processed to make my husbands banana split with the same DIRTY HANDS!! I was so disgusted the way she did it, it was so ridiculous! There was not enough ice cream in the container to support the toppings and it leaked all over the car! Very disappointed!! I cant see going back!! They need better training here!!

Great place, first time here should of gotten the monster size upside down banana split in a cup but only got the regular. Still was great but hulk size is the way I would suggest, unless your not so hungry.

Great place for ice cream but remember its CASH ONLY. Will get busier in the summer but they keep the line moving. Lots of options compared to your chain ice cream places. Decent prices too. Better to support your local places like this than the big chains. We will be back.

Ive gone to the Han-D-Dip my entire life. You get a good amount of ice cream for your money, but you better have cash because cards arent accepted. I love that they do doggy dishes of ice cream and that they have dairy free options as well. Tables are always clean.
