Had a iced vanilla latte, very good sat out by the courthouse and enjoyed it.

Absolutely 100% phenomenal. The americano was amazingly tasty, the service was quick, the staff were super kind, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the music was chill. The storefront sits just off of the town square across the street from a magnificent courthouse...absolutely stunning. We recommend 100%! Enjoy/disfruta! 💯🔥

This place is as delightful as it looks. The staff are very personable and knowledgeable. They can make everything from golden milk to a traditional cappuccino which are served in handcrafted stoneware mugs. They offer non-dairy options, too. There is a lovely mural on the wall and the glass front is bathed in natural light. There are a few tables out front where one can view the spectacular Lockhart courthouse. Sometimes they local musicians will play an acoustic set and they occasionally coordinate with local art markets. If you’re day tripping to Lockhart definitely stop here! ☕️ Then enjoy dinner at Little Trouble across the square.

Cute little shop! The brew in the vanilla iced latte is very strong & has a slight tang to it. if you’re used to sweet coffees, I wouldn’t recommend. Otherwise, it’s a gem!

I always feel super welcomed when walking in to order my Pecan Toddy! The employees are very nice, and really sweet! The vibe inside is immaculate, and makes me feel very at home.

Food was outstanding and our server was on his A game. Very pleasant experience for our first time there.

Both the Big and Little Sammies were very tasty. Really enjoyed my Mexican Mocha and the GF loved her oat milk latte with blackberry syrup. Blackberry in coffee, who knew? The interior decor was delightful. A great little spot in downtown Lockhart!

Cappuccino was disappointing. The Starbucks model, namely froth on top of milky coffee. True cappuccino needs the elusive La Crema.

I almost hate posting this. This is my secret hideaway. I escape the city and head straight here to read or write and drink coffee. It’s always consistent and laid back. The baristas are friendly and great at what they do. And if you’re up for visiting with someone, you can, but you can also tuck away in the back like I do and recharge INFJ style. When im lucky, like today, they’re streaming musicals. As an added bonus, the historic Gaslight-Baker Theater is around the corner with some pretty awesome plays.

Wonderful view of the spectacular Caldwell County Courthouse across the street. Mexican mocha and brownie that I ordered were amazing! Small venue, but cozy and super friendly service. I deducted a star only because the restroom was dirty. Smelled nice, but surely needed a good scrubbing.

Chaparral Coffee was a surprise in more ways than one! We came a little later than the typical lunch crowd and hungry. We were a little apprehensive trying something different but since our previous favorite lunch spot recently closed, we were anxious for a replacement.A relative told us about Chaparral so we decided to give it a try.Now for the good and the bad.The good was the Cuban sandwich, and I mean good, really good! Close to a Reuben but not quite. Very generous portions, we brought half home for dinner and Im already thinking about my next visit! The staff was very outgoing and gracious about our patronage, the price right on target. Also good, although we didnt try it was the aroma of fresh coffee making its way down the hall. The pastries looked appetizing and worth a try next time.The bad? Well, not really bad but a worthwhile consideration is the seating. Only about 16 seats inside, several more outside. No biggie but groups may not fit. But again, I guess a lot of their business is take out and thats where their market is.Well be back, probably more than a little.Thumbs up!

My favorite little coffee shop 💖 I usually just get a plain latte but if Im craving something sweeter, I get the pecan toddy and its a treat. The pastries are always fresh and tasty and the sammies are the perfect light yet filling meal. They also are super involved in the community and thats really special.

Back today after a long absence (thanks, Covid) to find tables and chairs replaced by shelves full of a small variety of grocery items from their newly-opened store in Martindale. Seating is still available in back, and Chaparral is still one of my favorite spaces. The friendly, laid-back vibe is real; Ive met the nicest people here. Im sipping my yummy Chai latte as I type. A must-stop on your way through town, located across the south side of the courthouse on the beautiful Lockhart Square.

My fault for reading an article over a year old and getting super excited for Homemade Pop Tarts. Obviously they no longer have them. We went to Lockhart for BBQ and this was going to be our dessert. When I asked for their famous Homemade Pop Tarts they guy looked at me like I had two heads. He had no idea what I was talking about. He wasnt very friendly and didnt offer any thing different. So we left. It was a small clean shop.

This is pretty much the only coffee option in Lockhart, but it is pretty good. They have been very helpful during Covid19. They added more than just coffee and online ordering to make it easier and safer for everyone. And a few small groceries that have actually prevented us from having to go to HEB or Walmart. The crew has always been very friendly and helpful.

Consistently good beverages and friendly employees. My only constructive feedback would be with their hours. Last time I checked the ones on their website, and the hours listed on Google did not match up, and on couple of instances they were closed within the times listed on both. Minor I know, but when coffee is your lifeblood, and seconds count, the damages are long reaching.Update.. I think the ownership has posted new hours on their website and I have yet to visit and find them to be inaccurate. I can rest easier.

Amazing experience. The barista was so ice (he filled all of our water bottles with water-we were mid bike ride) and made a wonderful Americano. We had a scone, muffin, and biscuit and they were all delicious.

Chaparral never disappoints! They are consistent with their coffee and food, I like that they refresh their menu every so often. Good value and great service. They are also very involved in Lockhart and downtown, so glad this business is in Lockhart.

The coffee tasted amazing!I went in because I wanted a good cup of coffee that wasn’t from a fast food joint. The problem was I didn’t get decent customer service.I walk in and was never greeted. I finally was ready to place order and the woman never said anything just stood there and waited. Once my order was ready, it was placed on the side and after maybe a minute another woman pointed to the cup and continued to talk to a gentleman that was in the cafe. I have never been the place before so was not aware of how things went. But, the entire time I was there I didn’t receive any kind of communication.

Cozy little place with great coffees, but almost no seating. Very millenial vibe. Prices are comparable to Starbucks, but coffees are not as commercialized or overly sweet.Staff is very friendly and willing to work with you if you have special dietary needs. I do not remember any wheelchair accommodations as the entire shop is only wide enough to accommodate four grown men shoulder to shoulder. But I could be wrong.I have seen children in there, but I would not recommend it.

What a lovely discovery. We stopped to take a photo of the courthouse and stumbled upon this gem! I literally would drive an hour to get more Pecan Toddies! The staff, which means the one young man that was working there, was very helpful and had a good attititude.We were a group of nine that were in town for just a short while. Time is important, and I wish they could afford to keep two people on the clock here.Give this place a try. Everything was good according to my group.
