Had a good experience when I bought a new band for a diamond I inherited from my grand mother. Tim was generous with the price and I was able to trade in some old jewelry to help with buying it . Ran into some issues when the ring was too big and one of the baguette stones was missing on the side. I had gone to a diff store ONLY to get sized properly. When I contacted Tim to inform him of the situation, he immediately thought I was asking him to repair another stores work . Before I was disrespected and accused of something that I didn’t do, I really wish clarification was sought. I fully understand that a text message that I had sent may have been misinterpreted, but no one has the right to speak to me like that. It was completely inappropriate, rude, and disrespectful. Once I had to experience that unnecessarily, I chose not to return as I have family in the business and can deal with it on my own. I’mNot one that believes that the customer is always right. But no one deserves to be spoken to like that. And So even though I bought a nice band, came to me damaged and now I have to get it fitted elsewhere. Sad but true!

I’m not usually a person who writes reviews, however, with Tim, the owner of Bergen County Gold and Diamonds, I felt I must. I had a box of coins my husband had collected before we were married. Having no idea the value of the coins I had, I Goggled coin dealers. Many people gave Tim an outstanding review. I must say, I was very impressed with Tim’s ability to evaluate the many coins I had. He also knew the value of the coins I had. Very few of the coins I had did he not know the value of. If he was unsure, he looked up online or in his current coin book and shared with me. When i picked it up, i realized they had upgraded to a screw back because of increased security and less risk of it opening.Screw backs bother my ear and when i explained that to the owner he offered a full return or to change the diamond setting that same day. Called in to inquire about my 1.5 carat diamond engagement ring after several attempts to visit the location and found out they were closed at the times google has them listed as open. I don’t know who I spoke with but he was very rude and told me they don’t deal with diamonds that small and told me to go to eBay. I only decided to contact them after reading all the positive reviews which I’m beginning to wonder if their are actually from real people and not fakes one you can purchase. I hoped he’d at least be able to tell me what I could get for the ring but apparently me and my 1.5 carat ring were not worth his time. Thankfully I was able to speak to a professional at another jewelry store I previously spend a lot of money with over $15k. I would mention them by name but I want readers to know this is a REAL post. And not one to promote another business. A WARNING to everyone its a waste of time buying jewelry especially diamonds from any jewelry store. You’ll plunk down your hard earned money thinking the value is equal to what you pay. But the truth is they get their diamonds for $1,500 to $3,000 then sell it to you for 10x’s what it cost them. Oh and if you need sell it back for any reason you’ll be lucky if you’ll get half of what you paid for it. But once you sell it they then resell it for the same high price you originally purchased it for. So is it worth what you pay for it or not? 🤔 It’s all a very elaborate scam a polish one but a scam nonetheless. The reviews made it seem like he is one of the nice ones who is service oriented, and who knows maybe he is when he isn’t being dismissive. Maybe you’re were having a bad day, who knows? But If my review causes you to provide better customer service moving forward then so be it. If not then any smart customer will see right through you and will take their business elsewhere.
