Dropped in with my son for a Sunday adventure. Turns out their website isnt updated and they no longer accept Sunday walk-ins, but they were still able to accommodate us for an hour. Which was great, considering it was an hours drive to get here.

There are several styles of archery ranges, and we like High Altitude Archery because it has a bright, open, family-friendly vibe and caters to people like us who are interested in target practice with Olympic recurve bows, not hunting with crossbows. It is a family-owned business and the staff are super friendly and helpful. We have bought several bows and assorted accessories from them and have been happy with the quality and service. The lessons have been particularly good. The instructor is knowledgeable and patient, and we improved rapidly with his tips. The range is usually not crowded and if you dont own your own equipment you can rent a bow and arrows for a reasonable fee.

We took a family lesson (kids ages 9 & 11) here and Paul did an amazing job. We all felt safe and he clearly explain the steps for all of us. Plus he threw in some dad jokes to make it more fun. My kids left feeling more confident and bit by the archery bug and are begging to go back. The adults left learning new tips to help us improve and have fun too. Highly recommend.

I had never held a bow in my life and Bob was so patient, concise, and friendly. His instruction had me feeling confident and safe, and my entire time was an absolute blast! I like the positive messages decorating the spaces, and being greeted by George, their dog, was a treat. I cannot wait to go back! This was a perfect way to get into archery and I am still glowing from the experience.

Paul and the staff were extremely helpful and patient through all of my questions and inquiries. I purchased my first bow ever (which can be a little intimidating) and never felt pressured to make a decision! Paul took time with me after the accessories were mounted to ensure I understood the mechanics of the bow. Definitely purchasing some lessons through high altitude archery as well! Thank you High Altitude for helping me with this awesome decision!

I have nothing but great things to say about this place and the people that Ive dealt with who work there. I have taken the Level 1 class with Kendra as well as a private lesson with Paul. Both instructors were helpful and offered many tips to improve my form. They also answered my many questions without making me feel intimidated as Im pretty new to the sport. Paul helped me to understand the differences and pros and cons of a recurve vs. compound bow and took the time to explain components and how I should proceed next. Would certainly recommend them to anyone who is new to archery or is looking for an indoor range! I will be going back for sure.

I visited here for the first time during one of their free archery events. From the very start I was completely blown away by just how friendly, polite and willing to help that all of the staff was. Not having done anything with archery in over 20 years, they were all very accommodating and made sure that safety was followed throughout the event. Obviously have 20-30 rookies shooting arrows comes with an inherent danger, but they made sure that everyone was safe. We ended up coming back a few days later and joining the club with a yearly membership and singing up for some classes, which are very affordable for what you actually get.On top of having a really great customer service, they also have a pro shop filled with everything that the common archer would want. They are geared more toward recurve archery, but they are able to service, supply and handle compound bows as well. They have a selection of bows to purchase on both styles and a wide variety of essentials and arrows to purchase on site. The pro shop also has professional servicing for repairs and assemblies of your purchases. The facility itself has a small lounge area for waiting parents or resting in between range practice, which to that has 3 separate sectioned ranges that are designed for various types of shooting. A large open area geared best for compound practice has moveable targets. and 3D targets of hunting prospects. There are 2 additional range lanes with 10 or so stations at each that have floor markings for distance in 5 yard increments from 10-20 and the 18m world archery line.My Fiancee and I signed up for the Level 1 adult classes and after a month of training by their certified trainers we were very satisfied with the instruction we got. Our coach Kristin was very personable, friendly and really made an effort in teaching us. She took the time to make sure we were doing things properly and understood why we were doing the things we were doing which knowing now, is essential in archery. By the end of the class we felt that we wanted to sign up for more classes and keep pursuing the sport, hopefully with Kristin still guiding us for the next class. We also decided to take the dive in purchasing our own equipment, which the staff here still excels as customer service and making us feel welcome and informed with what we were purchasing. They really take the time to explain the mechanics and gear to beginners, and never try to make the upsale. They just give honest opinions and advice and let us make our own choices, which is much appreciated.I have visited a couple other archery places along the front range just in doing my own research and looking at the different gear available and this is still going to be my #1 place. Customer service is top notch, the available gear for me is always better, and if you want something they can easily order it with no hassle, and the range to me is set up a bit better than the others. Plus, they do fun themed events like the upcoming Halloween shoot and free archery days for the whole family.Overall this is a really great archery club for advanced archers and beginners alike, offering several different classes with varying levels of instruction. The staff is incredibly friendly and will easily take the time to help you or get what you need. I would highly recommend stopping in if youre looking for supplies, or just want to rent some equipment and spend a family day with archery.

High Altitude Archery was exactly what I needed after being screwed over by an unnamed big box retailer of outdoor goods. They fitted the arrows I had bought with nocks and gave me practice tips of the same grain as my actual hunting arrows (a detail the other store overlooked). Great friendly service even though I came into the store in the last ten minutes with about 20 mins of work. 10/5 stars!

Took my first archery class here, since high school, 50 years has passed. We had a small class of 3 students so we received a lot of individual attention. Greg the instructor always had us warm up physically arms, neck, back and core. Learning the 11 step fundamentals of archery was enlightening and very interesting, I had no idea shooting arrows could/would be so complex. Greg our instructor was always upbeat and encouraging and extremely patient. I would highly recommend this class to anyone remotely interested in archery, even for a casual fun sport to experience. Fun and educational. You will learn some amazing things about yourself.

If I could give zero stars I would. Came in to get timing and center shot fixed. Left with it even worse than when I brought it in! Timing was way off after he said he fixed it And made my bow shoot 3 high and I broke 2 arrows never coming here again! Paul the owner does not know what he is doing not even going for my refund and to make matters worse we had a hunting trip 3 days after causing us to panic to try and get his bow ready to kill a bull. Paul was 0 help.

The staff is top notch for service and knowledge of the sport. Super friendly for new-comers and helpful regardless. I took the class and Greg (my instructor) was very accommodating. He helped every student as much as they needed help. Kinda like triage in M.A.S.H. not time evenly spent, but more like properly spent in my opinion. When I have the money I will be taking level 1 classes again. Not a bad price for anything in the shop either. Bob is also an expert on Colorado hunting knowledge if you have any questions. What a wonderful place to learn a new hobby. The staff is very friendly and eager to offer advice, its obvious they care about your overall archery experience instead of making a quick buck. I took a Level 1 class with Cuatro to introduce myself into the hobby of archery. The class was well worth the money and I look forward to taking future classes.I was in a 4 person class which allowed for plenty of 1 on 1 time with the instructor. Mile High Archery has a great thing going here, friendly employees as are the fellow shooters on the range. I purchased my own equipment after my classes and was able to order exactly what I had researched online! Thanks again guys and gals,Brian Melton

Archery Tag (registered trademark, phaw!) is a joke compared to the original game in Colorado at Archery Games Denver (Arvada). Dont waste your time playing in a hokey setup on a hard floor with janky obstacles - go to Archery Games Denver with the better, more comfortable setup, and enjoyable play.
