The technician they brought out was on time and very polite and knowledgeable. He showed me step by step what he was doing and even gave me tips on regular maintenance that I can easily do myself. He was patient with and answered all of my questions. He even showed me a feature of my ac unit that I didnt even know existed! I had a great experience overall and would highly recommend them.

I had new gas water heater installed. They were very accommodating and did a great job replacing my old water heater. It’s been couple of days and it’s working flawlessly so far. No issues.

Knowledgeable and professional crew. I had 5 quotes for a new heat pump system. Their quote was the same as 2 of the best priced quotes, but they also seemed to be the most professional and knowledgeable based on my experience with Service Manager, Mark. Other companies were either higher priced, or appeared less knowledgeable about this particular installation that was somewhat unique. They were also careful to make sure I had the properly sized Heat Pump and Aux. heating unit.On installation day, 2 (skilled, friendly) techs and the manager took the time to fix a few other minor duct-related items adjacent to where they installed the system. They properly leveled the heat pump, put it on a slab, made a custom filter insert on the return duct, weather protected the exposed ductwork, etc.I also appreciate that they provide a 2 year labor warranty on new installs, whereas most competitors are less than that.

We brought our newborn home last week and our Heat Pump died the next day. Sent a note via the contact us option on their site and received a call back almost immediately. They came the next morning (Saturday) and was able to temporarily revive the old unit. They provided a quote for a replacement unit and was able to install it on Monday. Install went smoothly. They also installed a damper to help push the air upstairs to our bedrooms. Great response, very friendly and quote was what we expected.

Replaced ancient furnace and a/c with heat pump and cleaned vents at no additional cost!

I noticed water beneath the hot water heater in our utility room. I called Commonwealth to report the problem after business hours on May 15. Before I received a call back (the next day), I examined the source of the leak and determined that the water was coming from the drain tube from our A/C unit that we had used that day for the first time this season. I explained the situation to the representative of the company who called and said the leaking was contained and it was not an emergency, but I wanted it looked at as soon as their schedule would permit. He scheduled an appointment for early May 18. I was told my annual service contract needed to be renewed and that the repairman would have me sign and pay for the next year when he came. As always, the service person was very competent and professional and saw that a coupler along the plastic pipe needed replacing. The repairman proceeded to perform a spring check up of my A/C while he was here. He completed both putting a new fitting on the drain tube and performing the spring check-up all well within an hour. The bill for this visit was $413.95 of which $273.95 related to replacing a small plastic coupler and clearing the condensation tube. This involved diagnosis of a problem I had identified and pointed out and using a $.50 piece of tubing and two small metal clamps. I am a long time customer of Commonwealth who purchased this A/C unit from the company when we first moved into this house and I have purchased a service contract yearly since the original installation. Under the circumstances, I believe that the charges for this small job were not reasonable.

Mark did a stellar job! The HVAC system in our house lost power, with the likely cause being the fan motor, circuit control board, or voltage regulator. Fortunately, Mark found a wiring connection in the attic air handler that simply vibrated loose over 15 years, averting a very costly repair! We really appreciate not only Marks and Commonwealths technical expertise, but also their honesty and integrity!

I find Commonwealth Cooling & Heating to be unique in the residential HVAC business because they are a small family-run business who strive to provide world-class service at a fair price. I’ve used the large provides over the years but I always felt that the technician’s objective was to find problems so they could increase the billing amount. With Commonwealth, the technicians give me options when problems arise including a “wait and see” option when the risk of waiting has limited impact. I appreciate their thoughtful assessment but I also know that when service is required, the work will be completed professionally.

I had another HVAC company service my air conditioner and they quoted me $845.000 to fix my air con unit. I called Commonwealth and Mark came out to give me a 2nd opinion. I will never use that other company again! My bill to really fix my air com was $283.00 and I received excellent service! I will never use anyone else again.

We used Commonwealth twice for furnace installation and could not be happier. Before the house furnace was replaced we did have the old one repaired since the technician said it could be fixed and still had some life left. I really appreciated the fact that he was not just trying to upsell a new furnace. After a few more years it was finally time to replace it. They had to put in new duct work along with the new furnace. We were very impressed by the professionalism of the technician. He listened to our issues about heating/cooling the whole house in winter vs summer so installed baffles that allow us to control greater flow upstairs vs downstairs depending upon the time of year. It has worked wonderfully and we are very happy with the work.
