They have plenty of elegantly pre-packaged boxes of goodies adorned by fat, richly colored satin ribbons, or you can make your own custom box. I just wanted treats for myself, so I opted for mint, espresso, and grey sea salt packed in a simple kraft box. Espresso was my favorite, as it magically tasted like cake (though with negligible coffee flavor)! It wasnt just me thinking this, my husband echoed the idea as soon as he tried the truffle. The only explanation I can find for this, is that the cake I bake most often is a rich, dark chocolatey version with a bit of espresso powder. But regardless, this truffle was divine. The mint was also delicious, offering a refreshing foil to the rich chocolate. It was slightly salty, and while uncommon with mint sweets, this was a truly lovely additional note of flavor. Thank you to the staff and confectioners that create these chocolates.
The chocolate and vanilla twist soft serve with dark chocolate/sea salt bits and almonds was the bomb.
Do you need a special treat? Do you love chocolate especially made fresh and not sitting in a box for months? Stop by JOHN KELLY CHOCOLATES and buy a few pieces or a box of chocolates for yourself or someone you love. Sure you can buy his chocolates at Neiman Marcus or Whole Foods. But this is the mothership where everything is made! This is the little store they have next door. I love the dark chocolate walnut clusters 💗Spoil yourself and stop by.....Youll be glad you did ☀️
Outstanding selection. Great presentation and quality. Sent as a gift. Will absolutely use again.
Amazing chocolates and service. Everything was ready by the time I needed it for. Owner reached out to personally confirm things would be ready.
Quintessential retail experience - Troy was fantastic and his recommendations were worth taking. The chocolate is the best Ive ever had, particularly the dark!
This is the real deal. they make the products there at their shop. when you walk in, the quality of the chocolate and the depth of the smell hit you like a wall.
Amazing chocolates and flavors. My favorite artisan sweet shop. Great gifts for others or a treat for yourself.
While walking to the Runyon Canyon, a friend showed me this store which just closed, as I was looking through the door, someone was still inside, he was kind enough to open the door for us and gave us chocolates to try, a salted dark chocolate truffle and a chocolate with caramel and walnut, both were delicious. I shall come back to get a box!
The most amazing chocolates! First time in the shop, and it was great. The salesperson was very knowledgeable about all the sweets, I came in for gifts and had many different ones. Also had to get some for a friend that is vegan, which they had some vegan choices. The big problem is I know where this shop is at and I plan on coming back soon.
Love the chocolates its very good and tasy.
Lovely little chocolate shop with all kinds of fun varieties and in a most splendid arcade- on the corner, facing the street also. Looks like its been in operation for decades. The marzipan dark chocolate is super sweet. Long live the old fashioned chocolate spots! Cute packaging, too!
Love the chocolates and everything here.
Deee-licious chocolate! Especially the truffle fudge. Yummerly!
Friendly people. Great customer service. The food was delicious. And the passion fruit water even more. I will definitely come back.
Awesome place. the chocolate is oh so good. love this place.
We received these chocolates for Christmas. I believe the John Kelley chocolates have to be the best I have ever tasted. These were very smooth and rich but not over the top sweet. The consistency was just right. We are on the east coast so not local so ordered them on line. Not cheap chocolates but hast to be one of the best in the world.
These are spectacular chocolates. I love the fact that this little shop Is tucked away on a side street in my neighborhood, and that the chocolates are made on site. There are many different flavors, but one basic concept. Almost all of the chocolates are the shape of a small bar, with a texture that, to me, is halfway in between fudge and a first-class truffle. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that they are pricey, and in the couple of years I have been buying them, the price keeps creeping up.A single chocolate, which admittedly is large enough and rich enough to be sliced into at least 3 or 4 pieces, is now $3.75.Its beginning to feel like, even though the neighborhood is anything but Beverly Hills, the prices are very definitely Beverly Hills. But they are wonderful, and the people running the shop are always cheerful and helpful, and samples are generously given.
This place is AWESOME! The owner encourages you to consume as many free samples as possible. Plus, the owner is really nice and knows everything about candy. He even introduced me to a new kind! I will visit this store on every trip to Sausalito from now on, and I dont even like candy that much.
This was probably the best part of my whole trip. Such a perfect location being right on the walk of fame. I
Love this place! Really helps to take the edge off my trips between Ikea. Huge selection of super-yummy candy - lots and lots of gummy, tasty things! They also have some Swedish products, including herring! I mean, dont eat the candy and the herring at the same time, unless youre into that sort of thing. Absolutely delicious, highly recommend this place!
Delicious! And so much better than any other candy shop experience. Candy tastes clean and light. Its a fun treat and everything is new.
Great truffles and unique flavors
The place is clean and the staff very helpful. The lady there answered all my questions and there are blurbs next to the candy explaining what everything is. The candy itself is delicious. Lots of variety. I hope this store is around for a long time.
Go for the salted dark chocolate
The best chocolates in Los Angeles. Fantastic Walnut clusters. The peanut butter, dark chocolate and caramel are all delicious. The only thing Ive ever had that was a let-down was the chocolate-covered fig. Everything else exceptional.
Place is amazing!!! we have never been in the store but we order their chocolates and have them shipped to utah and its the best chocolate I have ever had!! we learned of this place from Hayley Orrantia on her Instagram and thought what the heck and now we always want it!!
This is a good place to get a drink or cakes. The service is good. The ambiance is O K. You can walk in if you are closely or walking around.
Great desserts, drinks and service. We enjoyed the Chocolate drinks, and some other delicacies!!! Will be back!
The service is good. The ambience is O K. You can walk in if you are closeby or walking around.
John Kelly Chocolates is the real deal! Do yourself a favor and stop by this North Beach neighborhood gem. Your coffee or hot chocolate gets you a free truffle from a top ten chocolatier in the US! They also make great holiday gifts!
It has unique and yummy desserts and it has lovely seating areas. When ever we want a little something John Kellys is always in our mind.
Dark chocolate caramel truffles with sea salt. Incredibly good and sized rather large. Best gift ever.
There is a small John Kelly Chocolate store on Montana in Brentwood where I stopped once for a gift. They have samples. Oh, dangerous. One bite and you are lost. Im a big chocolate lover, and a lifelong fan of Sees, and Ive tried all the gourmet brands including Godiva, Edelweiss, and many many more. I must say that John Kelly tops them all. They are a bit expensive. But when you need a special treat, (one beautiful piece works nicely to set your day right) or want to give someone a gift who really appreciates the good stuff....I highly recommend. Anyway, I now stop in once a week. I shouldnt really, but I do.
Skip the artificial candy at the Grove and head over to this divine Swedish candy store. Candy Perfection! Plus, super helpful and friendly staff.
The only thing I ever get here are the filled soft black licorice tubes. I can eat a whole bag. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their products.
Best chocolate Ive tasted in years. Reminds me of Li-Lac in the West Village, only better.
John Kellys Chocolates is a great place and I cant wait to go back and try the chocolates!
What can I say about a place that takes pride in the beautiful product that they put out.
The first thing my boyfriend and I see as were getting off the boat ride from hell feeling so seasick and disgusting is this glorious place. I swear the sign outside illuminated calling us in. Once inside I felt like I was, as cliche as it is, a kid in a candy store. The huge baskets of candy erased the dreary boat ride from our minds and made our day a little brighter so thank you munchies of causality.
One of the best chocolates I have ever tasted. Highly recommended.
Just had my first, wonderful John Kelly caramel/fudge/dark chocolate/sea salt truffle. Wow! The excellent ingredients and careful crafting shows! I believe JKC is now my absolute favorite chocolate indulgence! I want to try all of the flavors!
The best chocolate hands down. Whoop I love it. They have so many options. the staff are like friends. they greet you as soon as you walk in.
A little expensive but well worth it! Hot Fudge Sundae was delicious and was just what we needed after walking around Hollywood all day!
I have stopped my search for fine chocolate. There is no greater chocolate than JOHN KELLY!!! I live in Illinois but I refuse to eat anything but JK chocolates. Members of my church also refuse to eat nothing but JK. We wish there was a boutique closer to us! Maybe, Chicago will be there next place to open a store!
Omg. So delicious, so inventive, so fresh. Great, knowledgeable help and smar, thoughtful packaging. Cant wait to go back. Great gifts!!! Yum!
Seriously love this store and there selection. They ga e toys and a huge selection of candy. And the Mexican candy selection is endless. I love the fact that they have almost everything you need the piñata and the stick with rope and a bandana.
They definitely know the secret of making a perfect chocolate.Highly Recommended!!
The chocolates they make are not only rich by looks but by taste too.
Finally a Swedish candy store! The swedes are very happy to have their candy in CA! It is a bit expensive but it is so worth it!! I know that our candy is one of the things we miss the most from Sweden ;) thanks!
Their place was awesome, clean and not too crowded. Plus they have lots of chocolates to choose from. Free taste is the best, it will help you more to pick the right chocolate for you.
Went to John Kelly Chocolates as part of a food tour, we got to see some behind the scenes of the chocolate being made and got to try ALOT of samples... oh boy was it hard picking a favourite!Sea salt caramel and the fudges were a high light... highly recommend john kelly chocolates!!
Excellent quality chocolate. Better chocolate then Theos chocolate in Seattle.
Very attentive and very kind people.Their products are delicious
This is the #1 place for chocolates in Los Angeles, need I say more? Their chocolates are made in house and they are the best I have tasted. Now it is your turn to decide.
Each piece is so dense and much thicker than normal fine chocolates - I slice it like a piece of cake!Enjoy!
A bit pricy but excellent chocolatier
I have a Facebook friend who loves John Kelly chocolates and she always posts pictures on her Facebook. The chocolates look so delicious and amazing. And since I am an avid fan of chocolates, I didnt hesitate giving this shop a try. I got there around 3 in the afternoon but there were few people ahead of me in the line. I was pretty excited for my turn. I bought dark chocolate espresso and one of their fudge bars. I saw one of their weird products. Weird because I didnt know a chocolate and an orange fruit could be eaten together so I also ordered orange strip chocolate to know how it tastes like. And WOW! It was quite delicious. So good and worth trying. The best chocolate I have in a long time. The next time I visit this place, I will try few of their chocolate coated fruits.I highly recommend john kelly chocolates.
Love the chocolates here. They offer free taste for new brands of chocolates or if you are new to their store.
A melt-in-your mouth delight bursting with flavor and smoothness!
Good for a bring home bite.
The chocolate here are so so fudgy. Even if you dont like dark chocolate, the chocolate here will make you re think it.

Amazing chocolate factory right here in Hollywood
Awesome chocolates pricey but worth it..
I went to WeHo to have lunch with my daughter and her girlfriend, walking back to my car we discovered this little chocolate shop on a side street. OMG, most everything was gluten free, unlike Sees which does not label the ones that have wheat. They feature my favorite chocolates, caramel, nuts and sea salt, yum! These are the best chocolates I have ever tasted even better than Chuao Chocolatier from San Diego. Please open a shop in Manhattan Beach or sell them in one of our fine beach boutiques.Thank you LivingSocial for the special on a John Kelly Tower. I was saving it for my three day Christmas guests, but sorry to say, it will not be available. We just split three pieces with a nice cabernet! My daughter was serenaded by Richard Simmons when she went into the store to pick it up, even he has a weakness for the worlds best chocolates. TEN STARS!!!
