Thankfully we were able to hop in line through Yelp ahead of time because it was definitely in demand when we got there. Once we got our table, we realized that you still have to get in line inside the restaurant to actually place your order (wish we knew that beforehand). Even then, the turnaround time on the food was very fast as we barely waited an additional 10 or so min for everything to come out. Each dish was better than the one before it. The Chilaquiles were very tasty and had generous portions of each ingredient as well, preventing it from being too dry or too chip-heavy. This was the first time Ive had steak with an eggs benedict, but not the last as the Big Ben dish was great. Adding a little hot sauce to spice it up made it even better. The sides of potatoes were also very nice and crispy, basically like smaller pieces of seasoned fries. As a sweet offering, we really enjoyed the Choco Croissant French Toast. It wasnt as thick as I was expecting, but that also kept it from being too dense of a dish as well. One of the best breakfast spots Ive been to in town and easily one of the first Id come back to.
The food was great and the service is efficient. I ordered the chicken chicken club, which was pretty good overall but the bacon needed to be cooked a bit more crispy. I ended up taking it off my sandwich. My date ordered the Signature Croissant French Toast and he enjoyed it especially with the fruit topping. Eggs were decent and the potatoes were perfect!
We came for the bottle of mimosa and finished two instead! Had the steak hash for my main dish. Large portion, tasty and fresh, just needed real salsa. Next time Ill definitely try the amazing-looking crepes or waffles! The tables were a little too close to each other for comfort! In this mid-pandemic time extra precautions must still be taken.Great staff. Overall a good experience.
The customer service is truly superb. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and and reasonably priced. You must try the eggs Benedict with salmon and potatoes. The atmosphere is decent. There’s indoor and outdoor seating with a table bar. The restaurant faces Melorse and it gets packed. If you’re a newbie, it’s best to arrive before 10am.
I signed up on Yelp for the waiting list. And when I arrived the host confirmed that there was only one party of two head of us, we waited and the host keep sitting party of 2 ahead of us even though he mentioned that there was only one party of 2 ahead of us. They finally sit us in a ridiculous bar outside, facing the street, where people was waiting and looking at us while eating. The food was good. Tried it but not sure if I will come back. Just visit if you are in the area, otherwise don’t go.
My friend and I came here about 40 minutes before closing - it was busy but winding down. We were seated right away on the patio.Menu is online via a QR code - once you know what you want, you go to the counter to order and pay.Food was delicious! I had a bagel sandwich which came with a side of potatoes - egg whites, tomato, avocado, cream cheese and an iced vanilla latte. Food did not take long. Service was very friendly and efficient.
I was visiting LA with my family and decided to have our last meal at Fratelli Cafe. One of the better food decisions we made all weekend! Everything we ordered was very tasty with good portions (I had the Steak Hash). Theres a reason this place does well. We went on Sunday around 10:30am and stood in line for about 40 minutes. Just go earlier if you want to avoid the weekend brunch rush. I would be happy to come here again the next time Im in town
My husband and I ate here in June for breakfast before driving up to Sequoia national park. The food was delicious! He ordered the croissant french toast with a side of bacon and a smoothie. I ordered the huevos ranchero with an Arnold Palmer. My eggs were perfectly over easy laid on top of a crunchy fried tortilla. This was all covered with a savory and not too spicy red salsa and topped with sliced avocado. Crispy potatoes were on the side and were perfectly seasoned. Parking is hard to find in the area but you come for the great food!
Love their brunch! The omelettes are my favorite. Its a must! And the staff is beyond amazing very kind and helpful especially the host! The strawberry lemonade mimosas was delicious.
We here during the lockdown to get some breakfast to go and they did not disappoint! The Biscuit Benny, Croissant French Toast, and the Chicken & Waffle were all delicious! My favorite would have to be the French Toast with the Biscuit Benny coming in close second. The portions are pretty large too, we definitely had left overs. You walk up to the door and the menu is taped to the window. You place your order outside, and wait until they call you back to the door for your order. Everyone wore masks and it was a pretty seamless transaction. I would love to try more of their menu next time in in LA.
Chicken was raw! Owner said it was impossible that the chicken was raw, waiter shrugged his shoulders. Was told sun would move in ten minutes. Sat under heat the entire time. On top of everything we were seated next to where they keep the hot dirty plates. Plenty of flies! Only reason I gave two stars was because other food was good.
Great little breakfast spot on Melrose, great food, covid smart, friendly staff, more menu items to try..although the breakfast skillet was really good. Shoot even the orange juice 🤗
This place was ok.The food was alright. No one in our table really had much to say about them other than it was overrated. My friends got the bacon hash and tuna sandwich. Eggs were bland. I got the chicken and waffles and i liked the texture of the waffle but the chicken was pretty soggy. No type of crunch and it felt kinda wet? Maybe because the chicken wasn’t freshly cooked. My food was pretty much room temperature. The taste? Bland. Honestly neither tasted like anything? It’s weird but honestly….yeah. Even with the maple syrup it still didn’t taste like much. I got a mimosa with lemonade and it just straight up tasted like white wine. Not sparkling. Just straight up white wine. No substitutions and modifications are allowed btw on any of the food. The wait was about 45 minutes for saturday brunch. The wait staff and host were all nice and pretty energetic. Probably the only saving grace. It’s street parking only, but we personally found one pretty quick and close to the place.
This cafe/restaurant is amazing!! food is delicious and they have a lot of options. kid friendly
Great customer service by the man that greeted and seated us in the morning of 9/5/21! I didn’t catch his name, but handled the crowds with energy and ease! Food takes a bit to come out, but delicious and good portions. The French toast is uniquely made with a croissant - so yummy!
This place is a Hollywood Icon. The owner greets you and makes sure everyone are comfortable. Their serving system is an art with minimal contact. Brilliant! And the food is delicious. You have to get a seat outside. Its the best!I come here everytime Im in LA.
Definitely think orders could be done in a better way, but in not covid times, it probably works better. The bottle of mimosas was great, and honestly the whole reason for choosing this Fratelli. The breakfast potatoes taste like curly fries which was good. Overall it was good but not a new regular place.
Some logistics:There’s usually a line. Check in and put your name on the list and they will text you when a table is ready.Make sure you check in by the second text, otherwise you’ll be booted off the list by the system and will need to add your name again.Plenty of parking nearby. You will be seated (outdoors) and scan a menu to check out what you want. You walk inside to order, get a number, and your food will be brought to you.The Food:I have been here twice so far and I have enjoyed both times.Last visit, I ordered the french toast, the steak scramble and my boyfriend ordered the jackson with gluten free toast( the plate with avocado) it was some of the best gluten free bread we have ever tasted. they advised us that they buy it fresh from a bakery on fairfax and santa monica? i believe were the cross streets? They were all great and the steak was very tender in my scramble which was unexpected since usually at other places it isn’t.I personally don’t care for the mimosas and i can’t tel if it’s the fresh squeezed oj or the champagne quality but i do love the food.
The neighborhoods best cafeteria! I would confess that this will be my second home. The food they served was excellent. The breakfast menu, in particular, was delicious. They served delectable hot cocoa. The room was very large and well-kept. The prices were very fair.
Amazing view, delectable drinks, and delectable food! This is a must-see when visiting this place. If you come in the afternoon, bring a hat because the sun is high. My recommendation is to go at 3 p.m. to enjoy the sunset and nighttime city view. Our server was very attentive and gave us some tips for making the best of the rest of our visit. Id be here the next day!
At my funeral, I want these breakfast potatoes served. In fact, every single brunch item you can add to that list. The sweet croissant French toast, the savory breakfast burritos, and the OH SO crispy potatoes. Their muffins are better than Costco… which I thought was impossible! Not to mention their drink menu is stacked, my favorite being the Cappuccino with oat milk. Los Angeles is full of brunch spots and endless options. But Fratelli Café is the gold standard. The owner remembers us every time. It feels like home. We love this spot!
The breakfast sandwich I got from Fratelli Cafe was so good. We originally were going to sit outside because we had a dog. It got really hot all of the sudden so we decided to switch it to go so we could sit in the A/C in the car. The staff were really cool about the sudden change even though they were insanely busy.
We have a wonderful café in our area! My companion and I had a fantastic time eating your best-selling dishes about a week ago. We had a great time speaking with each other while eating your delicious food. Youve got to be well-known! We should absolutely recommend that all of our friends and colleagues contact you!
We had the Open Sesame Bagel and loved it!The bagel was fresh, crispy on the outside with just the right amount of sesame and appropriately soft on the inside - exactly the way a premium bagel should taste and feel like. The bacon was to die for....it was so crispy and non-greasy that it complimented the rest of the ingredients just right. The avocado was perfectly ripe - not too hard and not too soft, and last but certainly not least was the sunny side up egg. Tasted organic and free range...just the way I like it.The cup of fruit was fresh and plenty for a side.If you like breakfast and bagels like I do.....you must try this item!I also like the fact that they have an extensive menu. I like options. I tried their Eggs Benedict couple of weeks ago and also enjoyed it. You have a lot to choose from....Ill be back to try something new!Well done!
Food was incredible and great service! Try the croissant French toast and bacon hash!
There is a little bit of a wait because they are only open until 2pm. The cashier Leo had so much personality and friendliness, he made our day. The croissant french toast were really good!!
We got there just before the rush. Ordered the biscuits and gravy, and the French toast. Very delicious!!!
Very busy spot, but great food!
First Time Here, With My Kids.Staff Is Friendly, Service Is Fast.We Got The Chicken And Waffles, Red Chilaquiles, And Bacon And Hash. The Bacon And Hash Is Really Good, Great Flavors, And Good Portion Size. The Chicken And Waffles Not So Good, In My Opinion Chicken Needs More Flavor And Syrup Is Not That Good.Red Chilaquiles Is Good.Overall Is A Good Place To Grab Some Brunch With The Family.I Would Recommend This Place.
I definitely enjoyed my time here, had to wait for almost an hour to get a table but it was a Sunday so we expected that to happen. We ordered chicken croissant sandwich, French toast and avacado toast and they were all delicious but avacado toast was my favorite! I also had hazelnut latte which was pretty good too. Definitely recommend this place but maybe not on a Sunday morning.
Good food, good service.french toast could have been firmer, but shakshuka was delectable
Pretty great spot. Casual and yummy. The food was great, atmosphere was friendly and they had a resident dog who is the sweetest and belongs to one of the employees and kinda just wanders around doing her own thing.I got the green eggs benny and it was sooo yummy. They were out of breakfast potatoes which were apparently a known thing there. Didnt get to try and brag about them on yelp for you all but the fries we got were good!My friend got the Mediterranean omelette with sweet potato fries and it looked so yummy!Op top of it all we shared a bottle of champagne for $20. Its their mimosa special and it was the perfect amount of food and alcohol. My total was under $35 just for my share.Parking up and down the streets was constantly available as cars were rotating in and out of the area. Make sure if you park on the streets just to be aware of certain signs and restrictions. Enjoy !
This place deserves nothing more than a 1 star. got here 12pm, btw servers dont take your order, you wait in line at the front, pay, and then they bring it to you. After we ordered, just 1 plate each for 2 people, the food didnt come after 1.5 hours... we had to flag the server to ask what happened, they forgot our order after we paid. waited even longer and it took us almost to 1:40pm to get our food. mind you it closes at 2pm...
Really appetizing menus! Had a hearty breakfast with bacon and hash and the egg benedicts! Yum! It was a very fulfilling and happy experience.
Not a bad place but also not up there for a brunch place on Melrose in my opinion. The latte tea was really good but the brownie hash which I was looking forward to was just so so - nothing I couldn’t easily make by myself at home and had to use ketchup to make it taste better. The avocado toast was also just ok. Service and abience were good. Prices on par.
Place was packed, but somehow quick turnaround. Nice staff. A little pricey for what the food was, but it was delicious! I wish restaurants would stop charging for almond and oat milk for a non-dairy substitute for creamer!
This place is amazing, managers and crew are very friendly people, we came to celebrate my wife birthday, food was great 👍 😋.
Good breakfast/lunch spot with a big selection. I enjoyed the breakfast burrito with chicken and side of potatoes to start and had a croissant french toast with fresh fruit on top for dessert. Both dishes were flavorful and fresh. They also serve Lavazza coffee, so that put a smile on my face. Nothing like great quality coffee to go with a tasty breakfast. This place is popular and gets busy, so come prepared.
Great breakfast. People are nice there. Nice crowd too! And it was a Monday!
First time here, I enjoyed the food and the experience. I had the Jacksons omelette it was very good. Host and wait staff was very friendly.
Love it when I go to places that the staff is extremely friendly. They recommended one of the burritos and it was pretty good. I had the huevos rancheros and we also had a banana waffle. Place looked clean and the weather today was amazing so we sat outside. Definitely give it a full stars. Friendly staff, and great food equal five stars!
I was thrilled to learn on their website/reviews that they are willing to amend a brunch meal to be gluten free and dairy free.I called to place a take out order as the wait time over an hour for Sunday brunch at 11 am and verify what meals were allergy free. She was blunt in saying that phone orders are only for 3 items, anything more should be ordered online.Good thing I was getting only 3 thing. I ordered the green omelet with gluten free bread with potatoes and salsa on the side. The BP green juice and a burrito. The potatoes are dairy free, no butter is used.Upon arriving at the restaurant, there was a host directing the long wait line to get seated. I walked into the restaurant and waited in line to pick up my food. The host saw me go in and abruptly pulled me out of the line to asked me what I was doing. I said I was picking up a phone order. He then told me to go back to where I was standing to pick up my phone order. =/. It was as if I had cross the red velvet rope upon entering the restaurant. The food/juice was good. The omelet was a bit too oily for me. Over all the food was flavorful and delicious . I could do without the unfriendly service and strict tone of the host.I would recommend the food just dont expect great service especially on Sunday brunch day. Go either early in the morning or late afternoon.
The prices not low but the well made food and EXCELLENT SERVICE is worth it. I have not seen such prompts and attentive service since dining in Europe. We ordered multiple plates and as we finished a young tattooed gentleman politely removed our plates and questions how to better serve us preempting our breakfast experience. Do you want a box? How is the meal would you like something else? ... this is uncommon in California. They take Covid precautions serious and have a well organized line to the cashier. Yet the atmosphere is chill and I did not feel rushed. The location is nice and a variety if locals were eating there. It is nice to see such a mix of friendly people from all backgrounds. The tech workers from Massachusetts to the gold jewelry clad body builder all mingling together. The movah latte was excellent and the portion was large and satisfying. Many trendy restaurants completely fail on the coffee but not here. Parking can be limited so I parked down the residential street. The potatoes cubes were over fried and hard. The Allman breakfast burrito, banana waffle and avocado toast were A+.Highly recommend for experiencing a local dining situation and to avoid a boring tasteless consumer joint like Starbucks... where the parking attending stalls you if you go over your allotted 30 minutes...This place is the SUPER spot to begin your morning in LA!
Excellent service, the attention is very good. The place very at the forefront. The food and the coffee is super delicious.
Simply fantastic. Super friendly atmosphere and staff, fast service, awesome food. If I lived here, I would become a regular in an instant. Guys at the counter were nice and talkative, gave great recommendations and even recognized us from our last trip a few weeks ago. Will absolutely be coming back!
Good food at a good price in my opinion. Hard to beat $20 mimosa bottle. Get there before 10 to avoid a long wait.
This cafe has a lot to offer! From delectable dishes to refreshing beverages! The staff was quite kind and helpful.
Food and service fabulous! No inside dining ...entire party was very happy with their selections.. I had french toast... Delish!
We decided to go for brunch because I heard how was amazing is there. The service and food were good. We had different types of omelettes. The portions were huge. My Benedict dish was creative. My fried enjoyed his omelette as well. The coffee is also good there. Anyway, it was a good experience overall.
Food was so delicious excellent service this is my second time here 😋 wow definitely a good place to come in the morning 🌄
Delicious food awesome patio for outdoor dining!
Very pleasant experience. Seating was limited to outside, but with the beautiful weather in LA, it added to the experience! Food was great, mimosas was served with fresh squeezed Orange juice, and the service was excellent!
Food here is delicious and service wonderful. Everyone is super nice and attentive! Had a great first experience even for only doing takeout, I will be back!!
The crowds dont lie. Its a good selection of delicious brunch and cafe items. Friendly and considerate staff who are following strict health and safety protocols for all patrons so cut them some slack and be sure to pay attention to what they are telling you.
The place its good. I tried the croissant french toast and it was amazing. The staff was friendly and considerate and they were following the strict health protocols.
Food: I ordered was their Bee Gees dish, I swapped feta for jack cheese and was set. I like my food spicy so threw on the hot sauce and black pepper. I did take a bite before hand to see how they make it, and it was well prepped. Yummy on food and it was filling! They arent shy on their portions!Service: seated right away, order was painless, dish came out quick and hot. All is good. Staff is friendly and welcoming. They crack jokes with you and make you feel at ease/home.Ambiance: mad chill, I wasnt rushed, would recommend it for a leisurely brunch with friends or fam.Only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is because I had to walk myself up to the register to pay. Now I dont know if this is the norm but no one told me either. It didnt appear to be that type of spot but what do I know.Next time Ill ask, because everything was good.
This place is AMAZING!!!!! The Croissant french toast had to be the best thing to hit my taste buds!!!! The owner was upbeat and hilarious! The staff was attentive and so nice! A must have. Definitely coming back on our next visit
Listen!!! You see those Brussels sprouts! Those Brussels sprouts were amazing..Didn’t take pictures because I was too busy eating. This is a Post-Covid 19 Post. Staff follows Covid-19. safety measures and had us scan the menu to order to eliminate packed lines
Its a great place to eat for dinner! Furthermore, the waiters and waitresses were very welcoming to customers such as myself. But it was well worth it!
Great selection of great food options a must try. Parking is scarce do to covid but a must try if and when your in town.
Delicious food and great michelada! There are a lot of flies though which wasnt so nice
Fratelli is perfectly situated at the corner of the street in Melrose, offering a wide seating arrangement from outdoors to indoors. The Cafe offers a booming array of choices on its menu to fit any palette and the kitchen prepare the food in accordance to your order (which is amazing) for example, my mother is celiac and anything cross contaminated with wheat and gluten will affect her a tremendous amount.Fratellis Cafe was more than helpful and highly admirable, in that they happily informed the chef to designate a space in order for her food to be cooked away from any type of wheat flour. Made her GF toast.I think that this is incredible, especially considering the popularity of the place!!The food was amazing, and didnt take long at all!!The staff, are so friendly, caring, they aim to ensure that you have a great experience, and they do a fantastic job of it, with their courteous attitude, and wonderful personality. The cafe was clean, and filled with art and history. We had such a good time, since then, weve been coming back, and each time only gets better!! (A rare commodity to find such a place in the busy Heart of LA).
I love when the service is awesome and Fratelli Cafe made my high expectations. After reading the menu I couldn’t decide between Gone Bananas Waffles or Eggs Benedict. The Bananas Waffles were a winner of the morning. It was appetizing.Overall, the experience was fine and the food was good.
The drinks are amazing, the food is great, and the view is stunning. We got the Rum Ginger cocktail and Bloody Mary, each were fantastic with amazing presentation, an unreal drink experience. Our server is amazing. He provided us with tons of amazing recommendations on drinks. He made our experience great. We will be back again!
I had one of the best breakfast in my life! I highly recommend this place if you want to have a relaxing time and enjoy your day. I ordered belgian waffle with berries and maple syrup. It was amazing! The berries were fresh and the waffle was the same as in my childhood. I was impressed! Yummy!
Amazing food! The gentleman seating, seemed to be either the manager or owner, was very personable. All other employees were hustling and cleaning thoroughly before each table was sat. The chicken and waffles had a very nice flavor, chicken had a slot spice too. The croissant French toast was hands down the best! The fruit was fresh that topped the goodness of the French toast. GET THE CROISSANT FRENCH TOAST if you can’t decide on a dish.
The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming and all those who work here are so attentive, supportive and polite. They make you feel so taken care of and welcome.
Quick and friendly service. The food was really good. I gave this review a 3 only because I had to fight very bold flies while trying to enjoy my meal (outside seating, Thanks to COVID). That made it hard to enjoy and engage in the full experience. I do look forward to going back when theres indoor seating or the weather has cooled down. I ordered the French toast crossiant which was Ah-mazing, scrambled eggs and bacon. The bacon and eggs could have been shared, as they were a nice portion. I wouldnt have even considered sharing the crossiant, even though I couldnt finish my meal in one setting. Oh and take a friend or an Uber if you plan on having Mimosas. They are worth the value.
This position is awesome! One of our favorite places and it has Delicious Food. Great Customer Support. Theyll certainly be back.
The owner was super accommodating and made the experience easy. First time and would go back.. great food!
