Ive now had two repairs done on my moms dell laptop. The first repair was to replace the dc jack which had now broken 3 times since weve had the computer around 4 years. CCR was able to order the part and received it in just a few days. I know this part is very intricate and takes a lot of work just to get to it. Ive watched it get replaced before so I am extremely impressed with the turnaround time. My mom took in the laptop when they opened and it was already repaired and ready to be picked up within 3 hours. Today we picked up the same laptop which had a failed hard drive. It wouldnt boot into windows no matter what I tried. We dropped it off late afternoon yesterday and it was ready within 24 hours with a new hard drive. I was even more surprised to see nothing was lost on the computer, it was all still there. I am so used to losing it all when a hard drive is replaced so.. these guys are miracle workers! Were so happy and grateful to have found this place.

I chose this shop due to its glowing reviews, many of which mention a honest owner. I had the opposite experience and, although it happened well over two months ago, I am still furious about it.Short summary: I brought my laptop (an HP Pavilion 360) in after a coffee spill. I was told the damage was extensive and they could either replace various parts (totaling $750) or replace the laptop with the same model (a refurbished one) for $550 and transfer the hard drive (thereby recovering my files for me).After almost two weeks I went to pick up the refurbished laptop. They attempted to charge me $650. I said this wasnt the quote I had gotten and frankly I was annoyed that it had taken twice as long as theyd told me.When I took the laptop home I found that they had somehow managed to completely wipe the short-term memory despite only transferring the hard drive. All of the computers settings were set back to factory default. My files were in the Documents folder but there were no cookies at all and I had to do password recovery on everything. Okay, whatever. I didnt like being lied to about the time, the cost, or what theyd done, but since I had a working laptop with my files on it, I was happy.Unfortunately it was not a working laptop. I had been told several times it was just like new! I dont know if anyone at the shop has ever used a new computer, but this laptop was the most awful machine Ive ever used. Logging in to Windows could take up to 45 seconds; launching a web browser to check e-mail could take up to a minute, and about 20% of the time you opened a program, it would crash. It was so slow that, when you typed, there was a lag as if I was using a mechanical typewriter.I went in after two weeks of attempting to make the most of it, but the laptop was unusable. This is where the service went from not great to bad. I asked multiple times to speak to the owner, the famous Kevin of the 5-star reviews, but he was always out. I even called in once to make sure he would be there, but when I arrived, he was out to lunch and I was told he wouldnt be back for at least an hour. (It was after 1 p.m.)In my final visit to the shop, I told the technician who claimed to have worked on my laptop that I wanted to return the computer because it didnt work, at all. I opened it up to show him. I also pointed out it was a different model than my old laptop (the screen was 1 smaller so you could easily visualize the difference).I was informed that it was indeed the same laptop, even when I held up the two computers on top of each other so they could see the size difference with their own eyes. (Note that screen size is a spec, just like RAM or keyboard layout, and smaller screens cost less.) The technician opened the laptop, measured with his hands, and said it was the same screen size on the inside. Later, he said, It is the same... just less.I was also told that my old computer probably operated even slower. (It didnt. It worked fine.) I was told I clearly dont know anything about computers and that the refurbished model was fine (but I was also told they could fix it even though it was fine, according to them).At this point I was mostly speechless because, while Im not any sort of tech genius, I can absolutely tell you that I know how my computer worked before being damaged, and that this new computer wasnt working at all. I did not want to waste any more time with this shop, nor did I trust them with my files anymore.Fortunately my husband stepped in and informed them if they didnt take back the computer, we would take the case to small claims court. At this point, they took the computer and issued me a refund without any more arguing.I purchased a new computer directly from HP and it works great. This shop tried to grift me and, when I confronted them about providing a different model than promised that didnt even work, they gaslighted and insulted me.

My laptop had a power button issue, the keyboard wouldn’t work, and it was slow.Before coming here, I took it to another shop were they told me it was $200 for the keyboard and $200 for labor. And it wouldn’t be guaranteed. $400 for no guarantee. Also, he didn’t know the exact issue because he couldn’t open the laptop. He’d charge to open it and see the problem.Then I brought it to Computer City Repairs. He said leave it, let me open it and check the problem(They diagnose it for free). Not only did he fix the power button and keyboard. He tuned it up for free and it actually is faster than before. And he gave me a 90 day warranty. I’m glad I came here. And it was done for half the price.

Ive been taking my computers here for years and I have only ever had good experiences with Kevin and his team. If I could give Computer City Repairs a higher rating I would! This is the 2nd time I have been here for repairs. I showed up with no advance warning with a laptop that wouldnt power on at all. My laptop had the only copy of my final report for my class and it was due in less than 24 hours. Turns out my laptop had been damaged by the rain while I was walking to class. They not only made time to help me immediately, they also managed to save my report and the rest of my files from a partially damaged hard drive. Most stores wont even get back to you in less than 5-7 business days, especially for such a troublesome job. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, knew what they were doing, explained exactly what what wrong, answered all of my questions, the prices were fair, and they were willing to help with my short time table. Would recommend to anyone in need of laptop repairs!

My OS was doing all kinds of funky stuff, wasn’t able to use my computer for my work anymore. Called in, told them my issue and was told to bring it. I brought it in, and got it back the same day! I was in a time crunch and Kevin at Computer City Repairs was INCREDIBLE. My WD external hard drive lost all of my content (video footage) I needed to edit for a project due the next day. I brought my macbook pro in with a trackpad full of milk thanks to my son, and Computer City fixed it faster and about 3x more cheaply than the Mac Store would have. As I am typing this review on a now fully-functioning laptop, I can attest that they do a great job.

They were able to fix a computer I hadnt been able to use in over two years, I dropped it off Saturday night and was only able to do so because they waited to close until I arrived. I picked my laptop up on Monday(only because they are closed on Sundays). Long story short, I was able to pick it up not even 48 hours after I had dropped it off. Computer City Repair has affordable prices, a great staff, and incredibly quick repair times. Hopefully I wont have to get my computer fixed again anytime soon, but If I do, Im definitely going here. Good place to come! Came here due to cracked screen on my pc and they give you free quotes and call you in 2 days to see if theres anything wrong. After 2 days you get a phone call and tell you whats wrong and if your on budget they well look for parts around your budget as well which is always a plus. Definitely recommend.

Computer repairmen have a reputation only slightly better than used car salesmen, but Computer City returned it in a day, cleaned and fixed and fast again and for a piddling $145. Very satisfied....Then (this was two months later) I returned from out of town to discover the computer was almost paralyzed; it froze and announced not responding after a few keystrokes. So I took it in, and they fixed it -- and, to my amazement, didnt charge me! They said it was a do over. Even more satisfied....

I found Computer City Repairs on Yelp. I went to take my laptop in for a diagnostic (for a broken hinge). They were extremely friendly. They had see how much the parts cost and since my laptop was in such a precarious state, I left it with them so it wouldnt get damaged further. They were fast and affordable- I had visited 2 other places and they all said that they would do the exact same job at a higher cost.

These guys are very efficient and professional. They did a great job finding out the problem of my laptop and fixing it in reasonable time, after I thought I should purchase a new one. They went extra steps even by cleaning the fans of the laptop and the outer body making it look as if it is a new one. I really recommend them for anybody having sever software/hardware problems with his/her PC or laptop.

When my daughter came home with a MacBook that she dropped and the top was both dented and shattered, Kevin at Computer City provided a great repair at a great price. They were fast and I added a change to a solid state drive because again the price and availability to do so quickly was exceptional. They seem very responsive and good at communicating…as well as fair in pricing.

I took my desktop in for what I thought was bad RAM, but after a while they pinpointed it to bad memory on the graphics card, which was under manufacturers warranty. It was probably a pain for them to deal with, but because of their diagnostics is free policy they didnt charge me for anything. They were also courteous and professional in general--highly recommended.
