Will never return to CARVEL.I visited on Sunday, October 3rd, with my family to try out the new Sanderson Sisters shakes.We ordered all three: Sarahs Chilling Churro, Winnies Glorious Cake Batter and Marys Devine Cookies & Cream.First disappointment was that Winnies Glorious Cake Batter was not available due to, what we were told was, delivery on ingredients not arrived. But the sweet employee assured us if we ordered one of the other two shakes she would provide the collectable Winnie spoon.It was a long wait for the shakes to be prepared, at no fault of the employee, but managements fault for scheduling only one employee to run the store.The shakes were done and the 80 degree weather had me so ready for a sip. Unfortunately, my Marys Devine Cookies & Cream was also 80 degrees. The texture was like warm tomato paste from a can. The flavour had me wondering where the cookies in cookies & cream were. My first thought was maybe mine was a fluke and asked my family if I could take a sip of theres. Nope all were the same watery texture, which is a shame since there are signs in the store and on their website that state they have THICK shakes. As for the flavor of Sarahs Chilling Churro, the only way I could describe it, is like doing the viral Cinnamon Challenge. My mouth was left dry.I left feeling so disappointed that I spent over $10 for EACH shake and angry for the employee left alone to handle the mess of a store. Where was the management to help with the long line. Where was management to help fix broken machines. Where was the management to make sure deliveries on ingredients arrived on time.CARVEL IS A JOKE!There is a reason only one location is left in California, because you can literally get better shakes and ice cream at Rallys hamburgers.Save your money people and dont waste your time on the Halloween hype.

Shakes were more watery/milky and not thick. Kinda disappointed but loved the idea of the Halloween shakes. Just wish they were a bit thicker.

The employee was very helpful with my order. The total for the two shakes was about $20.

Tasty ice cream shop with many different flavors, decently priced. Parking can be a bit hectic depending on the time of the day, but many side streets where you can park.Customer service wasn’t bad, but also not particularly friendly. It’s cool.Went there several times with my friends when I lived in the area 2018.

An incredibly frustrating experience. Order placed online on Wed, received an email 2 days later that store had still not confirmed the order. I called the store (Fri) - owner confirmed and said hed call back. No call back. Visited the store (Sat) to resolve the issue and was assured it would be ready. Showed up to pick it up (Mon) - what order?? 1 hour before cake time for my kids party and NO CAKE. Store did deliver a cake (late), but was still very soft. And I got charged twice - once online and once in the store...still disputing the charges.

Carvel is an old family favorite from where I grew up in Brooklyn, and this franchise location does it well. The flavor of the ice cream cake I got was great, and since it was a pre-decorated cake the manager gave me a discount. Ill definitely be back.

I couldnt be happier with this store. Due the chaos, and staying at home; I ordered a birthday cake from Carvers, thru the Door Dash app. Stephen, and his wife; you are all kinds of amazing. I am beyond satisfied with every aspect of my order. I live a couple hours away from my brother, but thanks to Stephen, and his wife; my brother was able to get a cake with Happy Birthday on it. We are in crazy times, and being able to send something personalized is not easy. Thanks to Stephen, and his wife; my brother in Los Angeles got a personalized birthday cake today. I am so grateful, thankful, and satisfied with the service provided. I will be using you again soon. Thanks so much Stephen.

Not impressed. Soft serve is warm and taste more like frozen yogurt than ice cream. And the dude working was interesting to say the least. Thriftys would have been better.

Took my family there and was treated good. The guy was great with the kids the place was clean and the I’ve cream was great !!!

We decided to drive all the way out here to try their ice cream produced in house. They have regular flavors on one side and their signature flavors on the other. Everything was so delicious it was hard to choose a flavor. I decided to get their butter pecan and strawberry. I will definitely come back for the Turkish Coffee and Saffron and Rosewater ice cream.

I love love love this ice cream place! The creamy rosewater is my favorite and they have great customer service! I love the chocolate dipped waffle cones, and when they didnt have any today, Martin Specifically custom made me one on the spot! I really appreciate this place and the extra effort they go to!

Im giving it 5 stars for ice cream and staff what i will say the owner needs a cash register and should clean the place up the register area was filthy as were the floors and tables. The wonderful irish girl that was working was so delightful.....she was very polite and courteous...ice cream was just like carvel of my youth in new york.....place just needs a cleaning

To repeat past reviews both here and yelp. Professionalism does not exist here. No clear Covid control here. Most notably if you can tolerate a manager who openly yells at their employees and does not know how to wear a mask, hope you like big scoops of fragile masculinity and sprinkles of incompetence everywhere too.Not worth a single ounce of your time or money. The worst customer experience I have had in LA period.

Entered near nine, it wasnt busy. The service was very welcoming and sociable. It has a nice interior. I see why this place has a lot of good reviews.

My favorite ice cream in all of los angeles. I actually get the biggest cravings for it . The rose water with cream chips is amazing, orange blossom pistachio and saffron are out of this world. The service is great and you cant go wrong with any of these tasty flavors.

I dont really care about soft serve, id rather have cookies or brownies for treats, ice cream is a secondary dessert for me. And then id rather have hard ice cream with alot of milk fat, and stuff mixed in like cookies or candy bars. But this place has a unique soft serve, it is very soft and has its own flavor. If you like soft serve its maybe the best. Why I gave 5 stars, the owner recommended to me to try the plain ice cream swirl, as that is the specialty. Then after he asked if i liked it. I told him it was ok, and a little pricey for soft serve, so he offered me another one for free. Thats great management, and customer service. Looking for feedback, and offering more to make customers happy. If you like soft serve come here, if you like good service come here. 5 stars...

Store owner that runs this place is a completeA-hole. I came in here once to pick up an order and he just threw it on the counter making it tip over and break the packaging. He’s very rude and doesn’t follow CDC guidelines making it unsafe for customers. I would not go here if I were you.

I came here for a much needed ice cream cheat day. I was welcomed with bland icecream, DISGUSTING, possibly expired or rotten nuts. The taste is still in my mouth an hour later, so nasty. I don’t recommend. Customer service lady was very nice, she earned my stars.

This is an east coast delicious flavor.Too much foam? Too creamy? These reviews are brutal. Carvel practically invented soft serve. It’s a minimum of 10% milk fat which makes the stuff so creamy. Stay away if you have a weak stomach. The rest of us will enjoy.

Customer service is TERRIBLE! I called in to place an order for a carvel sinful chocolate cake! Given, that I have never been to this shop... I was not aware that these cakes are like “McDonald’s”! The “owner/orchestrator/manager” was super rude!! He got upset when I asked if I could pay in store? For the reason that, I was driving and I did not have a credit card on hand, he refused and immediately started yelling “It’s like McDonalds, if you go to McDonald’s you are going to get a burger, if you come here you’re going to get a cake.” He stated “We don’t work without money, we need the money ” I’m not sure what he so urgently needs my hard-earned money for. I told him that his behavior was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. I was so disgusted that I could barely get my words out! I will find a new bakery/ice cream shop for my cake! I really didn’t need that negative energy! I am so disappointed that my loved one won’t be getting a Carvel cake! I refuse to do business with a guy like this!

One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Unforgettably bad. They also didn’t have vanilla and told me that I should have known what I wanted before I came in. Utterly shocked by the girl who worked there. She was so mean for no reason and also objectively very unattractive. Weirdly, I want to go back only because of how mean she was. It’s like reverse psychology or I might have issues.

Worst experience at Carvel at this location 11037 Santa Monica.. The place was dirty fill with trash inside the store. The owner was very rude and lazy everything we ask to order he didn’t want to make it he said we are known for Vanilla and Chocolate ice cream!!!!!!!so if you want MORE THAN REGULAR vanilla or chocolate ice cream this is not the place!!!!! milkshake, sundae dasher, Classic Sundae and carvelanches is Not Available Here!!!!!

My grandkids love this place and its great for a special treat. Who doesnt love Carvel? A little pricey - 4 kid-sized portions for $17.

I was not pleased at all... My children and I stopped for a ice cream. When we went in employee was talking to another customer that was sitting that watching TV. He haawwd us wait until he finished changing the TV channel, he was looking at my children weird that made them uncomfortable. He was not friendly, never smiled once. I was thinking could this man be racist? I would never want to think of people being that way. So I went ahead and brought ice cream for my children ONLY because I know they really wanted it. The way he made me feel, I just didnt want to give him anymore of my money. Sad part is my 14 year old said when we walked out.... Mom do you think he was racist, he seem like he didnt want to serve us... Ect... I think I made this review long enough, for you to get the point. I pray no one else ever have to experience that feeling.😔P.S. Look at the picture of the junior cup of ice cream... It was not even work the money...NOT ONE BIT OF IT!

Living in West LA for the past couple years, Ive always wanted to try Carvel. It looks like that perfect little soft serve place that would have a most excellent ice cream. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. The soft serve is actually TOO creamy -- almost foamy in texture. The flavor is also lacking. Even the cake mix flavor was somehow too sweet and too bland at the same time. It would do in a pinch, but Id much rather hit the nearby Ritas or Saffron & Rose.

Great ice cream and superb service. Used postmates app to order dessert past midnight and got another ice cream cookie free of charge because they ran out of the flavor I initially ordered. Got my order quickly and enjoyed it!

Not only is the ice cream absolutely delicious, Carvel is dedicated to customer service. We ordered an ice cream cake around closing time at 11pm, through a third party delivery service. We saw the shop was closing and, according to the service, the order was not being prepared. So we contacted the service, which then cancelled the order. An hour later, we got a call from Carvel asking if we had placed an order and if we still wanted the order. The owner personally delivered the cake at 1am. I wouldnt recommend ordering at closing time, but thats incredible customer service.

Man, maybe I just got here on an off day, but talk about a poor experience. The person behind the counter seemed nice enough but the entire place felt like it was hanging on by a thread.No soft serve was ready, the case that is supposed to have all the ice cream had nothing in it so he had to go to back freezer to scoop the ice cream.The entire counter was being used as a desk with paper work and money just sitting there. There was a piping tool just sitting on a table as if he was working on the cakes from in front of the counter rather than the back. He also had a folding table set up as another work space. Floor was pretty dirty too with what I am hoping was chocolate.I dont know, its pretty funny in hindsight but I definitely dont need to go back.

After this i only want self made ice cream. Large selection, varied and interesting flavors, one word delicious.....friendly and kind staff :)

When Carvel was at Howe and 41st Street, my parents would take me to the Piedmont Theater on Friday night. After the show, we sent to the Original Fentons. At seven or eight years old, I would order a Black and Tan.

Owner is just sitting on his chair and puts no enthusiasm what so ever to what hes doing. His shirt is filthy and my shake was all sticky and dirty from the outside of the cup. It was really awkward and uncomfortable to talk to him as well

This Carvel seems to havs gone a bit downhill. Ice cream is still delicious, but crunchies and cones were both stale. Plus, a small cone of soft-serve is $5, even more if you add toppings. Price feels steep relative to quality.

I worked around this area for years but never got a chance to try. Well, lets just say that I wasnt impressed with this store. I came in and the store owner (I assume so because they way he acted and talked) was sitting on a chair at one side of the store watching some video on his iPad. He didnt greet me and I walked to him and asked whats the popular item here. He told me to get the soft serve while he was still watching his iPad. Then, I ordered a medium soft serve and dipped in chocolate. He slowly stood up and went to the back room. Came out in a minute or so and picked up the phone. Then he did some stuff on a iPad Mini (I assume he was checking to see if theres any online order or whatnot). Any how, he made the soft serve and it was $6.70! Fine, if its really that good, sure I wouldnt mind pay for it. But, no, it doesnt taste any better than McD soft serve. I wouldnt recommend anyone visit this Carvel...maybe you should just go to a regular creamery for better product and service.
