I needed to find a grocery store from india or Bangladesh to find some tea leaves for making my own milk tea just how i like it, heavy on the tea low or no sugar. And this place had it like that ready made. But in Bangladesh or india or nepal it would have more sugar because people request that the most. Less or no sugar needs to be made to order.

Old world feeling and freshly prepared meals. Every Indian restaurant has a secret recipe and you must try the chicken tikka, it is unlike any other.

Between my Chinese mothers broken English and the lack of any labels for the food, ordering was a bit of a song-and-dance routine. Either come prepared, or just point at whatever looks good. We ended up getting the Chicken biryani (huge plate, totally worth it), along with some eggplant, bittermelon, and a savory pastry thing...all for $12! It was a tasty meal for two, and theres free chai tea.

This place has been a favorite for a long time. If you like curries and biriani it’s a no brainer but for me the access to fresh roti and parathas, which is so hard to find here, is the real winner. Incredible stuff. Sure sometimes (I’m 50/50) your guts might hurt from the ghee or whatever lipid you react to, but it’s worth it.

I haven’t had Indian food for long time, and I said today is the day. So, I ordered the chicken tikka and beef combo. I was very disappointed. “It” was lifeless. No flavor on the beef and no love on the tikka. This is the second time in my life I’ve been introduced to no flavor or love in my food. I hope in the future the chef or the cook tastes the dishes that are made. I believe that my dog food tastes better. Not to insult, but it is very important that the dishes made needs to be tasted for quality assurance. I don’t think a 3 star is the right choice but at the same time I don’t feel any lower than 3 star is admirable. I know during this pandemic time a lot has been impacted and I don’t want this to sway customers away. Therefore, I will order or make a visit again in the near future and I will provide my second opinion and only then my review will be permanent.

Great authentic Bangladeshi cuisine.

I bought some samosa and shengara yesterday also bought parathas daal meat and other groceries.Didn’t even make it to the paratha in meat. The samosa and shengara did it for me. As a Bengali I really don’t want to give a bad review to this place but I just had to since you’re like the fourth best Bengali restaurant around and we only have about four restaurants...As soon as I tried to food I have this nasty heartburn because of the level of the oil they had in the food went home couple hours later the heartburn still won’t go away I have tried medicine in the books. Today it took a turn for the worse and gave me such a bad stomach ache I was going to the toilet again and again and again with diarrhea. Very overpriced make sure you get the receipt when you buy stuff because they will add extra items. The food didn’t look appetizing at all but I still went for it because Deshi was close Should have listen to my guts because now it’s suffering.....

Paid $27 for 2 order of Biriany and one order of Goat curry. One box had 3 and the other had just 2 pieces of meat. That is cheatig.

Do NOT eat here! Unless you like bland cold overpriced food. I ordered one plate of veggie food and there were no signs posted and the guy there charged me $18. I asked him why and he said because he gave me extra veggies so he charged me for two plates. Not even $7 worth of food at any other place. He was definitely discriminating against me because I’m not from Bangladesh and speaking English. I went home and thought well I just want to eat this food but it was terrible. There was no flavor, not even proper salt. I had to recook it with spices. I can’t believe anyone goes there food.

The cooking was really great and in very authentic Bangladeshi style. We had Beef Curry, Fried Kachki Fish, Parata, Rice, and Mixed Vegetables. Everything was delicious. Try their Fried Bitter Gourd- if you have a palate for it. The guy at the counter was very helpful. I should mention they dont serve at the table so you have to carry the items from the counter when they call you when the food is ready.

Great Bangladeshi food! Good market. As usual this is an ethnic place from the Indian subcontinent, so it doesnt look very hygienic. But again, the food is authentic Bangladeshi which is awesome!

Being a Bengali, we cant have our meals without Fish.Swadesh is just like our Parar dokan (neighborhood shop) to buy fish.They have a variety of Fish and probably the best Hilsa of town.All Bengali spices,snacks, vegetables are available most of the time.Their Chanar payesh is one of the best dessert I have tasted till now

I drove all the way from Westwood.Not much atmosphere, only a few tables, and the food is great!I had the Goat Biryani and the Goat curry. Nice flavor and heat in the curry. I will definitely go again, and again.

Rice, prawn with cauliflower and bitter melon combo was excellent. Goat biryani was good although quality of goat could have been better.Paratha with beef/yellow split bean was very good.Vapa pitha and patishapta pitha were of poor quality.

This place and all the male employees disrespects women. They still think that men has to be served 1st. They skip women to serve men 1st. They argue back with female customers and disrespects female customers. The guys at the register is extremely rude. Womens money is not good for them. They dont have any women employees at the register. They belief that womens place is in the kitchen. And thats why they have men at the register. They have no sense of customer service. You can get them out of BD but cant get the uneducated mindset out of them. This is not the end of this. You have disreapected me and my mother. Whom along with all the men works very hard as well. We work hard to earn income just like men do. Men and women both pays rents, utilities and other bills. And we come home and take care of our family members as well. All we want is respect. And you think because you are a business owner and a man, you can just disrespect us like that. I think not. Your business doesnt run on only mens money. You are just to clueless to realize that.

Outrageous prices. Just bought 3 chicken for the price of six. This is the last time I am buying chicken here. Last time each of them were $7 each just few months back. This time they charged me $13 each. This is more pricier than organic chicken. But they are not organic.
