I don’t really know what to say, they are cookies. They are warm delightful magical cookies. The thing that makes these so great is they make them to order, and they just taste amazing. Sure you’re paying a little bit extra, but who cares at this point. When you’ve got good fresh cookies isn’t it worth extra money. If you find yourself around and insomnia cookie location, step in and try them out. Or call ahead make sure they’re nice and hot when you’re ready. But you will not be disappointed!

Placed an order just before 8pm. Called back at 1020, to cancel and get my money back, since I hadn’t received my order. The people working were very unprofessional. I could hear them arguing back and forth when the sat the phone down in lieu of muting it. Instead of promptly issuing a refund I was given an 877 number to call. After 5 min of listening to elevator music, I decided I’ve wasted my nought of my time on this company and called back to suggest that the store sit on hold to get my refund instead of me. I was told no and hung up on by a girl working there. Called right back and asked for a manager, and after listening to the 2 non managerial employees argue, still no mute button, the gentlemen that gave me the 877 originally got back on the phone with his voice raised saying it wasn’t heir fault and then hanging up on me. This is the 1st takeout food place of any kind I’ve encountered that operates with the kind of customer service as a cable company. Had to call a completely different location to get any assistance. I will never order anything from Insomniac cookies again!

These cookies are delicious!! I have read the negative reviews and they only seem to be terrible if you try to order delivery. Which is a shame because I would order them often if I wasnt worried Id not see the order arrive or that it wold take 3-5 hours (like I have seen some people report). They should get a larger location with more ovens and hire more people if they are consistently that busy. But anyways, that is just my feedback regarding delivery, which I have never done.My experience was as a walk-in during the week, around 10:30pm. I did have to wait outside a few minutes in the cold. Due to covid, the maximum allowed in the store is only two people. But it wasnt really that long and I was lucky enough to get there when there was only one or two people in front of me. When I was leaving, there were about 5-8 people standing in line.I also wanted to comment that the ladies who were working in the store at the time were direct but not rude or anything. I could tell they were very busy and frazzled, trying to keep up. But they were pleasant enough and got me in and out very quickly. I will definitely come back to get more cookies because they are delicious and totally worth the wait, even in the cold!!

I hope you’re an insomniac because you are gonna be up all night waiting on your order. Placed order at 915p, said 30-45 min. Got text at 1018p stating it left and tracking put it as out for delivery. 1100p called as still not arrived. They said it just left at 1059p and that the text was an error. Got it at 1115p ish. And the order was wrong. Driver did not bring spoons for the ice cream, ice cream was melted, and cookies were cold and hard. Never again. Never.

So granted they are in the middle of UofL action... but for those of us a little bit past that college era... this place is open until very lat... and the cookies are amazing... the big chunk chocolate chip and the reesees cup one are my favorite...

Good cookies, deplorable service. They supposedly deliver but have never been able to successfully deliver anything to me. The cookies are great if you ever receive them but for the hassle involved, youd be better off just getting some tollhouse from the grocery. Dont waste your time or money on this place.

Ordered to pick up at 8:30 but waited in a line outside for 15 minutes (there was only 1 person in front of me plus the one inside ordering) finally get in and was told order wasnt ready, they needed to bake more cookies. They said I could wait in my car and in around 10 minutes they would bring out. 15 minutes later I had no cookies so I went back out to stand in the line for another 5 minutes.35 minutes after I placed my order I finally got the cookies.. they get 2 stars because the cookies were delicious.Every place gets a second chance with me because I recognize that every business falls short of expectations from time to time. But I hope that management can make some improvements for the future.

The cookies are greats I used to have great service in the past. Tonight I dealt with the worst staff, no cookies prepared, no regard for their customers or how long they had to wait to even place an order. The woman working the counter, was extremely rude. Basically tried to joke to lighten the mood, the proceeds to ask what is up and available, to then be met with rolling eyes “I didn’t hear you, but really I did, what are you asking for” as she texted on her phone. I understand you may be miserable but don’t try to make other miserable.

I ordered online for delivery, only live a couple of miles from the store.I left phone number and email for contact info, never heard anything. No phone calls or texts. Checked order status multiple times and it just said bakingI go downstairs to simply check the front porch (not the first time its happened) and sure enough theres my order sitting there. No telling how long it had been. This was almost two hours after ordering. Just very frustrating experience. Cookies were cold and ice cream melted. Not a very good experience.

Ordered delivery and it literally took 3+ hours. They didn’t have a certain item and they didn’t replace it. They told me to call the company for a refund & I spent 30 min on the phone & decided it wasn’t worth it

Terrible customer service. The girl at the counter told me it would be a few minutes and she would bring it out to the car to me and asked me what car I was driving. Then I came in to ask for a refund because it had been thirty minutes and she was like well it’s been ready and got sassy with me. 10/10 would not recommend.

Update: original review below. I spoke too soon. The new batch of cookies hadn’t been delivered after 1.5 hours so I called back. I was told they weren’t sure if they went out due to a shift change (my friend had not received cookies or a phone call she had now been waiting on) so they said they could put us back in line. They did say they were really behind due to a special. Time wasn’t an issue as my friend worked past Insomnia Cookies’ closing time so I said that would be fine. She never got the cookies. Very frustrating. Neither of us were contacted in any way regarding the order either. I called the next day & got a refund. I will still get cookies from here & plan on trying again next week. Everything usually goes smoothly but when it doesn’t, it appears to turn into a long process involving multiple phone calls. I took back 1 star.Original post: Love this place! Their cookies are sooo good & delivered still warm! But a customer service interaction has led me to leave this review. I’ve ordered from them several times with no issues at all. Last night, I tried to surprise a friend but she didn’t answer her phone when they called & the cookies weren’t delivered. I found out today. I called customer service with the order number & they delivered again tonight at no extra cost! (They also offered a refund if I preferred). It was my fault as I should’ve told her to be ready but they fixed it anyway with no hassle! Great cookies & great service! I highly recommend them.

Cookies were made to order. They are very pricey, but I bought them one a buy 1 box get 1 free so it was a really good deal. It does take a bit longer than usual because youll get the cookies right out of the oven. Its best to pre-order your cookies online, or youll be waiting awhile. Id order them again!

My daughter went in to buy cookies and when she returned her car was towed. We were forced to pay $165 to get the car back even though she had the receipt and cookies with her to prove she was a customer. No cookie is worth this scam. From what I understand it is the landlord that is doing this. You really should consider moving your business.

Placed my order at 9:15 for an 11p delivery. Started checking my order around 1030 and it showed baking. Checked again at 1105 and it was still baking called to check the status and was told they would be here in 10 to 15 minutes (11:20 ETA). Checked again at 1145...still you guessed it baking. Called again at 1151 and was told that it had just been assigned to a driver and would be there soon. Finally showed up at 1205a..over an hour after the requested delivery. Zero communication from the store, definitely will not be ordering from here again...

Delicious cookies. Just too pricey. If they were just a little cheaper or had specific discount days (one dollar on Monday, buy 2 get one free, educator discounts, etc.,) I would come more often and definitely on those specific discounted days.

But having desserts delivered to your home at all hours of the night so that you dont have to get up and get ready to go out into the elements, battle traffic, battle grocery store crowds for cookies you have to bake yourself... come on! Its a liberty I am beyond grateful for and happy to pay for when I can afford to.The peanut butter chips in the PB chip cookies melt before your eyes when you pull the hot cookie apart. Perfect crisp on the edges and soft chewy gooey centers. And the hint of coconut in those white chocolate chip cookies, TO DIE FOR. Every cookie that you think is a classic flavor, surprises you. Also, I ordered ice cream with toppings. Next time I will just get extra cookies, break them up and put them in the ice cream to set overnight.Straight up LOVE for Insomnia Cookies right now :)

Such a fun experience! Staff was really friendly and enjoyed a laugh with my friend and myself. Even had some throw back hits playing on their speakers! Very laid back environment. Not to mention the brownies and ice cream were FIRE!

From the call center to the website to the employees, there is very little accurate or prompt communication.We had called ahead the day before to know of any changes regarding covid, were told we could order inside with a mask and the close at 1. Get to the store and this is completely incorrect. Orders are taken only online, and youre not allowed in the store. The kicker was that they closed at 12 so we had to come back the next day.Second chance at ordering, the website continually made me push back my time by 15 mins with no reason given. What should have been a 15 min pick up time turned into an hour.Even after fighting through all of this, we still ordered, arrived early, and were never told when our food was done. The website only said baking well after the 11 pm deadline. We stepped inside to ask an ETA and were told our cookies had been done for quite some time. This wouldnt be an issue if we hadnt also bought icecream. The cookies were a mess and everything was completely melted. It felt like a huge waste of money, and easily the worst experience Ive had at this store. Cant say I recommend coming back.

So I live in Texas and I wanted to send cookies to my friend in Kentucky. There was a problem with delivery so I called and told them it was a surprise and to just ring the door bell and leave it at the door. My friend would eventually come get it. The lady I spoke to said she would relay the message to the driver, and it said it was delivered on my tracking. Two days later when I spoke to my friend she NEVER received her cookies, the driver rang the doorbell and instead of leaving them at the door like I asked they rang the door bell and when no one answered they took the cookies with them. I’ve yet to receive a refund, and I’m confused why my tracking said it was delivered when it clearly wasn’t.

My wife recently ordered a box of insomnia cookies for my birthday. Since we live in Louisville but outside the delivery area she was told that they would have to be shipped via FedEx for a $10 fee, which was fine. But the cookies never came. Now 8 days passed my birthday she calls, for the second time, and discovers that they were delivered to the wrong address (an address that was not even close to ours). Insomnia said we would have to pay another delivery fee if we wanted the cookies. We, obviously, said that was unacceptable as this was not our mistake but theirs. They refused to budge. We requested a refund which they obliged but minus the shipping charges. So we spent $10 for nothing. Received nothing. And was treated very poorly. Good cookies, terrible customer service. Will never go back.

I was told that this was an awesome place. We get there and no one seemed too eager to serve us. We couldnt understand what the fella was saying, he was mumbling. He was saying something about not having the cookies that we wanted, but we werent really too sure. Then someone, who we think may have been a manager, started yelling at the employees. The guy who started yelling had just been sitting at a counter, so we thought he was just another customer. The whole thing was confusing so we left when the guy started yelling. He never purchased anything.

Super disappointed in their costumer service. A friend ordered these for me as a gift & they did not deliver them to me. Not only did they notify her that they were delivered when they weren’t, but after setting up a second delivery time the next day, they still did not deliver them. Extremely rude costumer service. It’s embarrassing that I’ve recommended them to so many people.

Tried to order twice. First order was online and it was never even made. Second order I phoned in. I was told over the phone this order was delivered so I called the recipient and the order was never delivered.

Pretty good and fresh cookies. However my rating comes from the employees. One loudly talked about how she wanted to go home. Im not even usually disturbed by stuff like that as a teen myself. But it made me feel highly uncomfortable and we left before we were finished.

5 stars for the cookies even if they are a little overpriced for the area.I would agree that the staff seems to be very unhappy so dont expect great customer service.Also this location is in the heart of UofL so why would anyone expect East end delivery?

Placed an order online at 7:50pm. At 8:24, I received a call that the store was in the middle of a huge rush and out of products, so it would be a bit. Thats fine, I was happy they had called to let me know. Then 9:27 rolls around and I still havent received my order. I call and ask whats going on and I get told that my order just went out for delivery and the driver is on his way. Awesome. But by just after 10, Im still without cookies. So I call again and the girl tells me all about how shes the only one in the store, etc. I understand this, but by this point, any events in the store should have no bearing on my order since its supposed to already be out. And it might be raining, but were right down the street and theres hardly any traffic so that excuse doesnt cut it. We finally received our order at 10:20. We had to wait 2.5 hours for five cookies and two brownies. I could have made enough cookies and brownies for a bake sale in that time frame. I refuse to order delivery from Insomnia Cookies ever again and I advise that you do the same.

Not happy at all. We ordered 6 cookies, after taking the money, we waited a few minutes to tell us they were out of one of the ones we ordered 2 of, so we changed what we wanted for their lack of inventory, which happens, I do understand that. A few minutes go by and they then tell us that another cookies we ordered 3 of, they were also out of. So... 5 of 6 that we ordered they didnt have. What made it worse is their absolute lack of care or concern, no real sorry, just a we cant make the ovens go faster fam talk about unprofessional and lack of customer service

The cookies are good but the delivery service is terrible. You either have a long wait with no communication, other than you calling, or you dont receive your order at all. The last time I ordered it took over two hours and three phone calls to receive my order... that was about two years ago. Then I placed an order online tonight and waited the same amount of time but this time there was no order received. However, both the tracker and customer service informed me it was delivered. Actually, the first time I called customer service, they told me it was marked as delivered but was still out for delivery and was on the way. That was at the two hour mark. I waited 30 more minutes to be told it was delivered half an hour before the first call and the store said no one answered so they returned the order to the store... yet I never received a phone call on either phone I listed, nor was there a knock at the door (I was awake and sitting about 10 feet away), text, or anything. And we are not far from the store either. Customer service was friendly and cancelled the order but the situation is ridiculous.

The hours of this late night sweets dealer are the best things about this place but dont get me wrong, the cookies and the ice cream are AMAZING though. They have the monopoly on the late night munchies of local university students. There is hardly a long wait or a huge crowd. They also deliver.

I am a huge fan of Insomnia Cookies but this store has got to improve in everything. I am from Minneapolis and when I ask here for cookiewich they give 3 scoops of ice cream here. In Louisville store they gave have a scoop. Besides, the ladies working were smoking marijuanas in their break time. There was a guy in front of me deciding what cookies to get and the lady said are you high? he replied yes and then she said yeah if you are high you will like this one.. What kinda business yall running? I am going to file a case on the cleanliness. I am dead serious.

Admittedly, the cookies are very good if you get them warm. But... Ask yourself if youre willing to pay $1.50 for a cookie ($1.21/ea for 24) before going here. Superb hours.

Customers cant use the bathroom. We use to use the bathroom before and last time I get there they wont let us. This makes me never go back there. If the owner is reading this comment please change that policy or else u loosing many customer. How can someone dine in I cant even use the bathroom come on.

Ordered at 8:58pm and I called at 10pm to check on my order. They said mine was the next one to go out for delivery. Its now 10:30pm and I called to check on it again and they said the same thing. I loved this place last summer. They used to be great, but I will not be wasting my time ordering from here anymore. VERY slow service and no explanation.
