Stopped in for a quick lunch, meatball sub came highly recommended to me by a local business owner as well as the bartender. Absolutely did not disappoint. Excellent portion sizing. Wonderful flavors. Delicious fries. I paired it all off with a Big Red and thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. Even had some leftovers for later. Absolutely recommend for a quick lunch.
Great pizza, good wings, absolutely amazing lasagna (hard to order anything else). Always get great service while there at lunch. Their dining room can get busy, and can be crowded at times, but food is always amazing.
Derby City pizza is a rare treat for me. When I go to the VA in Louisville it is a must stop. There Italian sausage is nice and spicy and the crust is always thin and crispy. They even cut it in squares so you can grab the corners first. Best part of the pizza in my opinion.The wait staff is always very polite and attentive for refills and if ya need a box.Just go and enjoy yourself. No regrets at this place!
Was in Louisville for a first time visit and came upon Derby City. First and foremost Kayla was a fantastic server, and is a valuable asset to the business.The outdoor patio area was very comfortable with a mix of picnic tables and other tables, and live music was a nice treat.The pizza was very average, with the crust being the major issue, but having eaten pizza in NY/NJ and Chicago all my life the bar is deservedly high. That said, the garlic cheese breadsticks were fantastic and would order again them in a heartbeat.Ill be back on my next trip to Louisville, a city I really enjoyed and look forward to visiting again soon.
The gluten free broccoli cheddar crust pizzas were amazing! Will definitely come back for more.
Here from out of town to move our son into college and staying at the Holiday in around the corner. Soon as we walked in the employees greeted us and even the customers that were there at the bar must have been regulars because they were friendly also! Very welcoming! The pizza, bbq boneless wings and cheese steak we ordered to go was all good! If the weather is nice, there is good outdoor seating in the front too! I like the smaller portion size of the dessert because I was able to enjoy it without feeling so full and guilty 😊 Will definitely be back when in town visiting my son!

The do not make their own pizza dough. Package dough with toppings. Was not impressed. We ordered from the parking lot. Then our order was declined. We had to in then they corrected. I wished they didnt.
Was in Louisville for a two week training course and went to the campus location. We were so impressed with the food we went back 3 more times. Stephanie and Lori were two of the best servers I’ve had in a while. They remembered us from our first trip and treated us like we’d been going there for years. Great food, great people and a great atmosphere.
Just moved to Louisville. Found me a great new pizza spot. Xl pepperoni, banana peppers and mushroom. It was on point! Crispy, flavorful sauce and a damn good pie! HighlyReccomended!

Great place. Close to the Kentucky Convention Center. Any of their pizzas can be made on gluten free pizza crust. If a train goes by you get a bottle of beer for half price. Very close to Highway and railroad track, but just a fun casual place that gives discounts to nearby University of Louisville. Has an outdoor seating area.

Have order take out here many times and pizza is always delicious. Big fan of the thin crust. Tonight they accidentally gave me the wrong pizza and I didn’t realize until I got home. When I called to tell them the manager personally delivered the right pizza to my house! Happy customer!

Seriously??? Do you call this mockup of a tragedy a pizza! This is the worst pizza crust Ive had in my entire life. There was not a single air bubble in the entire crust. And Im not talking lack of big bubbles. This crust either had no yeast in there, or the yeast was DOA. And I cant recommend this place to anyone! Never again!

Great pizza and a good selection of drinks very close to both the Kentucky Expo Center and Louisville campus. Had their version of a works pizza. Very good with plenty of toppings edge to edge Columbus style square cut pieces. Staff was extremely nice. Family friendly.

I really love pizza and when my friend told me about this place I had to try it out for myself. They have by far the best pizza in the city of Louisville that I have ever eaten and a long time. I highly recommend the thin crust pizza with all your favorite toppings and their cheese bread whether it be the Italian loaf Style or their cheese sticks it is one side item that you dont want to forget. Not to mention the servers were very helpful and helping me with and the menu to help me decide on what I would like to order. And you can watch just about any game you want on their big screen TVs thats all around you from all four sides. And they have a small mini bar as soon as you walk through the door. Thats if you like to have a drink. And dont forget to try their Big Red soft drink on tap it has to be the best that Ive ever tasted really good and sweet.
Enjoyed our pizza, spaghetti w/meatballs and philly cheese steak sandwiches along with our slice of derby pie. All the above was delicious, full of flavor and customer service was good. Happened to stop while in town for basketball tourney. We will be eating here again.
I’ve been here multiple times I love the pizza. I always get the same thing every time except this time I got the extra large veggie add hamburger no green olives. Well it took me calling twice to get thru the first time the phone ringed until someone actually picked up n hung straight bk up. The second time it went thru. I placed my order my number was in the system they never asked a name just my pizza would be ready in 20 min. I got there picked up my order got home and realized it had green olives on it. In which My spouse is highly allergic too. I call explain that there was nothing I could do with this 30.00 pizza it was going to waste. Well I ended up ordering another but this time a small and WOW for 20.00 I get a personal size pizza. So 50.00 for nothing I’m very disappointed in the service I received today I told the young lady that she told me next time I order it would be correct. I said it wouldn’t be a next time after spending 50.00 for nothing and I’m still having to find something else to feed my family. She replied ok that’s fine. IM TRULY DISAPPOINTED IN TODAYS SERVICE. it shouldn’t have to be a next time to correct someone’s order. My money can spend anywhere in the city, it was my choice to spend and support your Establishment.

Usually I have a pretty good experience at this location. But… waitress was too preoccupied with another table. Repeatedly kept getting other tables w/o acknowledging mine for 10 minutes. Greeted other patrons and apologized for the wait, but never said that to myself or the people with me. Rushed away before we finished ordering…. Can’t believe it. Because like I stated before, normally it’s a great experience. Hopefully this is just a one off..

Out of town person visiting for the first time. They had a bad @$$ night of rocking karaoke the Thursday we were visiting. Wish we coulda kept the party going all night long. Pizza was great and fries were bomb. Waitresses were very friendly for the crazy atmosphere brought on by karaoke. Would recommend as a great joint to kick it back at

An awesome place to get carry out or dine in. The wings are great and full of sauce. The pizza is great! I keep getting the chicken ranch pizza and I think its my favorite one Ive ever had. They always have cheap beer too so its a good place to hang out at.
The service is great, and the food was pretty good. I went to the location on Critten Drive. The employees were very nice, helpful, and really friendly. They also had free parking. The cheese ball things were very good, and the pizza I had was as well. I ate all of the cheese balls up before I made it to my house. They also have outdoor seating. I will definitely go back and try more of their selections.

First time trying derby city pizza, and will unfortunately be the last. Ordered 2 pizzas and 3 subs with fries. Didnt want onions or peppers, mayo on two. Not a very complicated order but a $60 none the less. Food didnt arrive until 45 minutes after the already 30 min delivery time I was given. Food was unfortunately delivered through door dash. They dropped my food off on the porch, knocked and bolted to the car. pizza wasnt even warm neither was the rest. Subs didnt have mayo and for some odd reason I found a mushroom on my pepperoni pizza, good thing I noticed because my husband is highly allergic. Tried to call to talk to a manager and no one ever answered the 4 times I tried. Definitely dont recommend.**Update. Food didnt taste worth $60 and definitely calling tom for a refund. Also, now looking at others reviews, they use the same bread rolls for subs as they do garlic bread.

I had to lunch special with my darling wife she had the baked spaghetti and I had the three piece pizza special they were both very good and I would recommend it the Italian sausage on my pizza with superb and the cheese was excellent. The lunch special comes with your drink. This will be our pre and post stopping grounds for U of L football.
Ordered the meatball sub. Very good meatballs were moist and flavorful. Sandwich a little small but would order again.However the small cheese pizza I had. Well the cheese ans sauce were good but I dont know what kind of dough they used but that was the worst crust I have ever had it was like eating. Wet Chewy cardboard. My goodness maybe for the othere sizes they use different dough.

My family and I came to eat here, planning to sit outside because it was a nice night. We had to move to sit inside after a few minutes due to the whole patio smoking and heavily drinking. This restaurant was definitely not family friendly and is more of a bar setting. The food was decent, pizza was very very thin crust. Our server was delightful and I wish I would have gotten her name, she was the most pleasant part of the experience.

Ordered a pizza at 7:40 PM for delivery at 9 PM. Pizza never arrived. Called Derby City and they said the pizza must’ve been picked up and it wasn’t their problem and call Door Dash. I ordered online through Derby City’s website.Update. Talked to Door Dash. They told me Derby City canceled my order. They said this is usually because they are sold out of something or too busy. Well, go figure, the person I talked to when I called to check on my order said they were really busy.Domino’s delivered before I finished this review. I cannot speak for the food, but the service is awful. I am from out of town, but I would not recommend anyone order from Derby City. Poor customer service. No apology, no nothing. Just, it is not our problem. Turns out, they caused it.Update 2. I had to call again but finally received a refund on Tuesday for the Friday night order.

The best pizza Ive had in a very long time, with the best karaoke night! If you want to eat great pizza 🍕 and have the best time, I highly recommend Derbys Pizza!!

The meatballs were excellent! Pizza was great too. Loved the seasoning in the sauce. Very friendly atmosphere. (There is plenty of room to park big trucks, too. When I read reviews before we went someone had complained about that.). We will definitely be back when in town!!
