I went into the location because I seen a bird online I was interested in. Unfortunately, the bird is a rescue and wouldn’t be a good fit because he, Buddy needs a home with no other pets. We left without a new pet ONLY because I’m still interested in getting a bird but I want to do my homework and get more educated about a bird we’re now interested in. The woman (sadly forgot her name) was extremely educated, compassionate, very knowledgeable in birds and an absolute joy to have conversation with. We will be getting a bird and most definitely will be here. I’m blown away at the customer service we had today and it was definitely refreshing.

I bought my baby here a few weeks ago. They have amazing products and you can clearly tell that they care about their birds. People say you cant buy happiness but these guys made it happen. Here are some pictures of my baby.

My husband and I took our sun conure to this store to get him/her a DNA test. More than a month ago now and still NO result. We called this store several times and left a voicemail with our phone number, still no call back from them. The owners of this store keeps ignoring us. They do not want to get ahold of us to tell us anything about my bird. We paid $35 for the DNA test, not like it was free! This store ripped us off and never want to call back at all. Anyone know where or how to report this store? I do not want this happen toanyone else.

Such a hidden gem in Loveland. From the outside you would never know what wonders hide inside this little store. From tiny little canaries to big beautiful Macaws and everything you could possibly need to take care of them!Avalon ensures their birds are socialized and loved - so they are often out on playstands for you to talk to, but small kids should be watched at all times. They cant read the signs everywhere saying that the birds can bite and to go near them at your own risk.

Employees love their birds, not so good with people. Me and my son and daughter when in there and I had my 1 yr old daughter in my arms (facing behind me on my chest/shoulder and we were looking at one bird when one that was loose behind us reached up and bit her finger. It was bleeding and the employee, that was right next to us, did not even care. I understand there is a risk if you are handling the birds or something but I was holding my daughter, shes tiny, she couldnt have even reached the bird, he had to lunge towards her to reach her. The store worker could have just apologized at least but she didnt even look at us or check on my daughter, she just said theres a bathroom if shes bleeding a lot. Like I said, of course there is risk you take if you pick one up or handle them, but if they arent being messed with and still bite people, maybe they shouldnt be out.

Seems like competitive prices and an extremely friendly and helpful staff. They love their birds and seem to do all they can to take care of them.

Very friendly workers who are very caring towards the birds. Not to mention that the birds are gorgeous and have tons of personality. Some of these birds were saved from tough homes and have feathers missing, but it is obvious the workers care for them all the same. Perfect place to adopt most types of birds as long as youre prepared.

The employees were VERY nice way better than all the other stores and the variety of toys and feed was fantastic I was really amazed by how well the birds were when a stranger picked them up and pet them. Also everything in the store was really well organized and clean. I would give this bird store a 20/5 stars!!!!

Went in to check out toys for my grey about two weeks ago, but when my husband and I entered we were not greeted by anyone but the beautiful macaws. The individual staffing the store sat at the counter on her phone and seemed bothered by our presence so we just checked out the birds and toys quickly before leaving. It seems like a nice store with healthy birds and enriching toys but I dont want to give my business to a place that treats customers like that.

Awesome place to visit, learn, and but from. They treat you like family and your pet like royalty, even though seeing the beautiful birds in a pet store is difficult for someone not experienced with pet stores, there staff was able to put me at ease immediately. There is genuine love for the animals here. I enjoyed holding one of the macaws on my arm, seeing the selection available and knowing I could place an order at any time. We purchased an Amerikeet as a birthday gift for a friend. Great store, worth a visit.

Was looking for a cockatiel to add to our family. They had several ready for sale. We picked a couple that looked interesting and were allowed to take them into a visitation rooms and spent some time with them by ourselves. Great experience with the hand raised birds. Easy to find the right bird. Super helpful staff and they helped us plan out the best food. We came in from out of town and they held the bird for us till the next day when we were ready to travel.

We came in looking for a Hahn’s Macaw. We were told they had access to eggs, and we gave a nonrefundable deposit for an egg. A few weeks later, we had heard no news at all and decided to call them. It was at this point we were informed that the babies had “died in the shell” because of a heater malfunction. We never received any proof that the eggs existed at all, and now we have no bird and no deposit. To me, it reeks of scam. I’d love to have our deposit back at the very least. Would REALLY like to have our baby Hahns.

I walked in to ask a couple very simple yes or no questions (is it legal to own an owl in Colorado, and is it legal to own a bat in Colorado.) The answer I got in return was rude, to say the least. No, and we dont sell them either. Its a felony to own either of them and birds are only for experienced pet owners.Ive owned birds before, several different species from wild (Blue Jays, Sparrows, Robins) to traditionally captive (Parakeets, Parrots, Doves), and had no issues raising them. In fact, my mom and I used to breed Parakeets that we would sell to our local pet stores, along with mice and snakes. I was called the Zoo-Kid at my school for a reason, and even made my Zoology teacher look like a fool on several occasions.These people here were just plain rude with their answer to my questions, as I just wanted to know if it was possible to own an owl or a bat in Colorado. I have no way of caring for one nor have the proper set up for either animal, so the fact that I asked these questions wasnt so I could go out and just buy one, but more so I could narrow down a list of animals that I wanted to have as a pet. Simple as that. 2 stars for rudeness. They answered my questions, yes, but could have been a lot nicer, if not a little more constructive about it.

No, I would not recommend this store. Today, our special education class went into the store to learn about birds and learn how to ask questions of other adults in our community. Unfortunately, the two people working the store were not welcoming and were obviously unhappy with the class being there. The employees even apologized to other patrons for our presence which was extremely disrespectful and seemed prejudiced to people with disabilities. Going to this store was a horrible experience and I will make sure to tell friends and neighbors to stayaway.Another important note: We called on two separate occasions to set this trip up ahead of time and we were assured in both calls that it would work fine on Friday afternoon on March 6th.

We were just at Avalon with a high school special education class on a field trip. We had arranged this trip with the store through a couple of telephone conversations, but when we arrived, were made to feel incredibly unwelcome. Not only were we told that even though we had called and made arrangements to be there, that didnt mean we should be there, but then the staff were apologizing to other patrons for our presence. Furthermore, when our students asked the staff questions about the birds in the store and birds in general, the staff were dismissive and refused to offer any answers, even a simple yes or no. We work hard with our students to teach them how to be good citizens and interact appropriately out in the community, and with all members of our community and they all did just that. Its a pity that the staff at Avalon couldnt be bothered to do the same. Frankly, it felt discriminatory and I am in no hurry to return.We called on two separate occasions to arrange this trip and were told that we could come for a visit on March 6, a friday. The sales staff in the store acknowledged that they had received those phone calls.

The part I value is the attempt to make sure buyers have a clue about what they are getting into and even encourage you to bring the bird back to them rather than rehome to some clueless stranger on Craigslist.The only bad reviews I can see on here are from bigger prima Donnas than the birds, or most recently a really dumb review of someone not getting the concept of what a small deposit towards future animals when available is. (Hint if they add everyone that asks for a species in short supply locally, theyd have an entire book of people to attempt to call back.) just as common with other types of abundant breeders.

Very clean, lots of toys, foods of various types and brands. Theyre birds are the most tame and cared for that Ive seen. Knowledgeable employee and the owner was very professional and personable. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this store if your looking to get a starter bird or ad a VERY well cared for bird to your flock.

I brought my family here a few days ago interested in birds, I was amazed at how professional the whole staff was. They directed us to to there breeding center, the staff there was exceptionally helpful, and knowledgeable. Even with 3 girls whom have never been around birds before, they adapted to each of there needs and gave each individual attention. It was a great experience for all of us and they keep asking when they can go back to visit there feathered friends and hopefully we will be able to determine the right bird for our home soon. Im sure the Avalon Aviary will see us many more times in years to come, thanks!

I cannot express my love and appreciation for the shop, the owner Suzanne, employees Linda a Lee and the trainer loud enough. I fell in love with a naked boy and the worked with him for more than a month and guess what! He is growing back all of his feathers. I got to bring him home a week ago after our training class and he is the joy of our lives. We feel so fortunate to have wondered in to look and talk to birds that day. The service that they do for people and birds is a blessing and I will be a customer and friend for life!

This is your one stop shop for birds and all your birdie needs. The owner is very experienced and knowledgeable about birds, and most importantly very caring. They also board birds. While I did not adopt my parrotlet from here I will be going here for a my birdie needs and boarding.

Good place to find what you are looking for, however it seems they are too crowded for their space. Birds are stressed and plucking, parrots screaming at each other. They get handled with a good diet, they are just breeding too much.

If you are thinking of adding an Avian member to your family, I highly recommend Avalon Aviary. Let me share with you why:We had considered different options when deciding to adopt a bird. Which type of bird? Do we rescue? Should we adopt a baby? Lifespan vs our age, bird size..... Etc. The description of Red Bellied Parrot seemed to fit our family well. We called some breeders we found on the net, and were surprised how they differed from each other. For example: Some didnt ask any questions, they were just concerned about taking payment. Some separates the babies from the parents very early and wanted to sell them as soon as 9 weeks. We were starting to get discouraged. We wanted to adopt from someone that cared about the bird and the right match for our family. The next call was to Avalon Aviary - and thank goodness we did! Susanne Cochran and her staff listened to our concerns and answered any questions, and agreed about our suggestion of a Red Belly. During our interview, it was obvious that she cares about her babies and wants to do her part in fitting the right bird/species in a forever loving home.As soon as I saw the pictures of a Red Bellied little girl..... I was smitten. Arrangements were made for her to come to our home. I was nervous. I peeped inside her travel carrier, and was met eye to eye. Yep, right then my heart melted. It is literally like bringing a new baby home. We named her Minerva. Susanne had given us detailed instructions on how to introduce her to her new home. She said to let Minerva come out of her carrier on her own, and when she turns and look at you, bend down and ask her to step up. That is exactly how it happened. Her first step-up was flawless.Minervas first trip to Dr. Bolt went wonderfully. She wasnt stressed, she allowed him to put her in a towel for her exam. Susanne had told me Minerva was towel trained, but I had forgotten. Dr. Bolt was pleasantly surprised by Minervas manners. He said Susanne and her staff must have spent a lot of time with her - socializing her and doing some great training. Of course, Minerva has a clean bill of health!If you decide to find your Avian family member at Avalon Aviary, ask them about putting together a care package (toys, food, treats, etc.) it is well worth the extra cost!We are so pleased with Minerva.... And we love her! Thank you Avalon Aviary for such a wonderful experience and for our sweet girl Minerva!

Always a fun place to go and see some amazing birds.

The staff/volunteers here are very strange and generally not super friendly. You would think that a business that cant be doing very well would AT LEAST work hard to have outstanding customer service, but they really act like they dont care at all. The service at the check-out was so slow, which is something else, alongside awkward and unfriendly staff, that most customers find annoying and will go out of their way to avoid. The food and toy selection, however, is pretty great, and I appreciate that. This place really needs to work on being efficient and more customer-friendly, otherwise I and everyone else will probably be happy to take their business elsewhere, like online.

This place has a great selection of bird toys, also a good supply of bird foods as well as birds to purchase (expensive, parakeets are nearly three times more expensive than PetSmart or Petco) but I think theyre hand raised.Only negative was customer service. I had questions about food for a newly adopted parrotlet and it almost seemed like I was annoying them by asking, I seriously asked three questions, but got the feeling I was bothering by asking. I havent been back only because I felt so uncomfortable. So unfortunate, as I could get a lot of neat things here.
