Jim, his son David, and the Town Line crew are the best in the business. Upfront and very transparent... won’t “add in” any unnecessary repairs and/or repairs that can wait. Honest, proficient, and punctual business people... my highest recommendation.

My car is an extremely beat up and old vehicle. I brought the vehicle to him trusting that he would take care of me and my trust was misplaced. My family has vouched for him so I thought I was good but I guess not. The car was having problems and I told him to inspect the car let me know what the problems are and if we would decide to fix them or not. If the problems were major I would have junked or sold the vehicle. He took this as I am not going to make you aware of any problems except for minor ones and Im gonna do a bunch of repairs without making you aware. On top of that he had the vehicle for nearly two months and almost never returned any phone calls even when voicemails were left. Long story short he charges me $1600 to repair the vehicle. The vehicle is barley worth more than $1600 itself. Extremely Unprofessional I am completely and utterly disappointed with the service however the repairs that done were done right and the car runs much better. Most likely will not be returning to this establishment.

Fantastic Mechanics. Theyre honest, trustworthy and, truly care about the customer. Their hours of operation are incredible for anyone who works throughout the week. Their prices are very reasonable and everything will be done when they tell you it will. Bob is incredible and he treats you as if youre his only customer, even as you look at the wall lined with keys from other customers who feel the same way. Im very happy that I gave Town Line Service a try, as its made my life that much easier. Highly Recommended.

The lady at the desk was very friendly. The problem i had here, however, was the mechanic. He’s a crook. Needed to have a rusted and snapped bolt extracted from my license plate holder. Guy looked at me and said “it’ll cost $40”. For something that should only take 3 minutes and a power drill? Haha. Never going back here, that’s for sure.

We got there and talked to Bob and his Mom (90+)about our respective immigrant families and how important it is to teach future generations the values of hard work, honesty and financial responsibility. We also made some conversation on about Bobs mom and how she was the middle child of 13 kins and how she raised her family through Lynns toughest moments ....Ah...I forgot to mention...he does an amazing job with cars, fixed my wheel bearing during the holidays at a very reasonable price !

Family-owned . Ive been going there since I was 14. Im 57. The shop has honesty and integrity. Friendly atmosphere. They will try to help you out help you out. Probably the only service station I ever had so much trust in. Its been there at least since 1975. If youre having a car problem talk to Bob and Jimmy and their 94 year mother. Hell give you excellent service, that you can trust.

One can only hope that as technology progresses, and we are more and more driving wedges between us as beings, that a business like Town Line Service on the Lynn/Saugus border will survive and thrive. It is already a rarity in todays already too cold world.Bob and Jim arent just mechanics, theyre a family (so much so that their mom runs the front of the house, checking people in, helping them square up their bill, etc.!). It was fitting that when my mom found Town Line Service, and started bringing her car there for maintenance and repair, that I did as well when I started driving.I knew we had found a special place the first time I took my car in for a check up. But first, a story:1989. Me and my Nana were in her 1986 Chevy Malibu. We heard a clunking sound. We pulled over into the Shell Station on route 1 south in Peabody, across the highway from Bickfords Pancake House. Because my nana was old, and didnt know cars, they took advantage of her, selling her all kinds of extras, like a battery (new battery for a clunking noise?!), tail lights, headlights, fuel filter, air filter, brake fluid, transmission fluid-and no, nana hadnt asked for a tune up! But they tuned her up to the song of 500. dollars (a lot of money TODAY, never mind 1989!!), and away we drove, as they smiled and waved us goodbye-only to have the clunking noise resume the second we pulled back onto the highway. My sweet nana eventually (for even more money) got the car fixed. So with that experience in mind, in 1992 I took my car to Town Line Service under my moms recommendation, despite being nervous to end up like my poor nana- taken advantage of unaware.Needlesss to say, Bob and Jim werent about the type of scumbaggery that powered the Peabody Shell Station. What I got after my check up was an itemized list of what the car needed, in order of importance of what should be addressed and repaired first, and a baseline estimate of what said repairs would cost me. I never went anywhere but Town Line after that.Neither did my mom-till this last July, she took herself off the road, but not before taking her car in for a last round of repairs before giving her car to me, because I dont want it to just sit there, you can use it for your boys. She took it, of course, to Town Line Service. When I picked the car up, Bob and Jim said thank you, and thank your mother for us. I said no Bob and Jim, thank YOU... For taking care of US first, and then our cars since 1992. I only hope that when my boys are old enough to drive, a garage like Town Line Service will exist for them as it did for me and my mom-complete with a Bob and Jim running the show.Town Line Service. So shines a bright garage in a weary, cold world. You can get your car repaired anywhere-regulations, advancing technology and training ensure that. But if you want that something extra, something more than repairs are done, sign on the dotted line, here are your keys, go see Bob, Jim (and say hi to Mom!) at Town Line Service.

SCAM ARTISTS!!! they are OUTRAGEOUSLY priced on all repairs. They clearly add markup to their parts to prey on the uninformed. A simple google after reciving my bill yesterday made me realize this. Not only that but they will never pick the phone up when you call them, but they take FOREVER to repair your automobile. Even if its just an oil change expect to be careless for at least 4 hours.I have friends in the automotive industry for 20+ years. The only reason I didnt go to him was because he was out of state and I had a problem I needed sorted post haste and got this reccomendation. NEVER AGAIN! DO NOT GO HERE! THEY WILL SUCK YOU DRYER THAN A BANGKOK PROSTITUE!!!!
