Extremely knowledgeable on Ford vehicles. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem and resolve it. If you have a Ford, stop going to the dealership and take your vehicle to Doug. Hes quick, hes good and hes fair. He doesnt add on work like the dealerships do. I trust him with my Ford.
Have yet to bring my truck in for work. I can tell already that I am going to like this place. The owner Doug is to the point and in todays times this is a pleasant surprise! Cant wait to do business with someone who does not bs with you. You either like it or not, I like it. See you soon Doug
Im new to tuning..have a 14 stang... I called to asked for prices a second ago and the dude was extremely disrespectful otp stating I was keeping him from doing his job. I actually asked what time or date would be convenient to bring my car before the disrespect... Will not be recommending this location to anyone
David was so sweet and had my vehicle in and out. Fixed the problem on my 1999 Ford Explorer. I will definitely recommend him to anyone. 😘❤🙏
I own a 2000 F-350. As soon as my factory warranty ran out I started coming to FPS because dealerships tend to find things wrong with your vehicle that have nothing to do with the reason you visited in the first place.Ford Performance were in Douglasville back then. So, to make this story shorter, close to 20 years of dealing with them. The owner, Doug Lewis and his people have been the best. Always honest, accurate and finished on time and on budget. Thanks Doug for the wonderful work you do!John C.
Never knew this was here. Friend needed something and was in and out. Said they were good people! Small shops like these need support and usually treat you more genuine because there isnt a survey potentially involved. Keep up the good work!!
Doug and his team are top notch!
Customer service was bad. I stood at the desk for several minutes while they decided what they wanted for lunch until they finally addressed me when. Injector repair was not correct and more work required after pick up. High costs on labor rate and low return on work performed. I wouldn’t recommend of use them again.
I brought my 1997 F350 for a problem with the manual transmission. I was immediately impressed by the owner Doug’s knowledge of transmissions. Now this is a 23 year old truck so parts availability can be a problem. Long story short (no pun intended) it took a LONGtime to get my truck back. BUT...totally worth it. It drives and shifts perfectly! Doug is a perfectionist and his staff the best. Thanks Doug, great job!
I love the owner Doug and his staff! My first in counter with this shop was me breaking down on 75/85 downtown traffic at 5pm. My ex husband googled for closes ford dealership near me. I had my vehicle towed there. I really liked how he took the time to explain to me how my car operates and steps he did to diagnose the vehicle. He originally put a radiator on first. He called me to pick up; but he was not charging me just yet. For me to just drive it for a couple of days and see how it do. It did however over heated again and I had it towed back to the shop. He knew I was on the side of the road and called to get up dates until I was safely home. He then put a thermostat on the vehicle. When I picked up the car; I was expecting to pay for the parts and labor for the thermostat. Doug said we were good! I had just had surgery and had to rent a vehicle for two weeks until my car was repaired; so I was very appreciative of him! I really like how he didn’t just automatically start putting new parts on the vehicle that I didn’t even need. I definitely be coming back for all my car needs! Many many thanks to this shop!
Would not recommend. wes told to bring car they would get right to it for a tune. I left it there a month and they still had not touched. everything I spoke to them they said it was next and it would be done soon. Finally was told they would get to it whenever they had time. I ended up just picking it up.
Doug is a pretty cool dude.
Brought my Ford ranger in to get oil pan gasket replaced due to oil leak and Im out of 760.00 and oil is still on the ground the place is a rip off BEWARE 🙃
So if you have a ford and need some work done this is probably the best shop in the area to take your car to. Doug is more knowledgeable and has more experience just by him self than other entire shops. Plus the pricing is VERY affordable. Dont pull your pants down for the dealership, take your car to this guy and get a professional job done. Just make sure your patient because he takes his time to make sure its right.
Glad I found this place. Driving a 2017 Shelby GT350 I wasnt very comfortable just taking it anywhere. But then I found this shop! Good reviews and experts with fords and high end fords. Got me what I needed in a timely manner for a reasonable price. Work performed was clean and they took care of my pride and joy. My new go to shop for the Shelby. Thanks guys!
Awesome place
Took my 05 f250 6.0 diesel to Mr. Doug and he nailed it. It was extremely sick and was in need of a professional and I found the right place. This guy knows exactly what he is doing. If you have a Ford this is your place. Great job guys. Very satisfied and pleased with ALL the work that was done. Look forward to coming to you guys for ALL my needs. Great service, never felt better leaving my truck with such a professional. Thanks again guys.
Ford Performance Specialists gave me the information I needed to confirm an issue with my truck and give me peace of mind. After 5 trips to the local dealership who tried selling me hundreds of dollars in unnecessary parts that wouldnt fix my issue, I decided to give FPS a shot. Going to an unknown mechanic is something that gives me anxiety. I do 90% of my own work on my vehicles but when I hit a wall I reach out to the licensed technicians for help. After establishing that I am a better mechanic than anyone at the actual Ford dealership, I did some online research and found FPS. Doug took my truck in quickly and gave me an answer quickly. Long story short, I had an issue with a low RPM reading. The tachometer on the cluster was reading 100-200 RPM at idle. Doug got back to me and said there was nothing mechanically wrong with the truck and that the tachometer needle was just out of calibration. I took his information but being the type of person I am I have to double-check things. After doing more of my own research I learned how to access ENGINEERING TEST MODE on my truck. This mode provides a wealth of information. It also provides a digital RPM reading. Sure enough, the digital reading was right on the money confirming what Doug had told me. Peace of mind for sure! The choice was then up to me to replace the entire cluster to fix the issue ($700) or just have the knowledge of approximately how far out of calibration the tachometer is. Doug and I both seemed to agree that there was no sense in dropping $700 to replace the thing and now that I have learned a way to get an exact RPM reading via engineering test mode Im going to stick with that. Thank you FPS and Doug for being quick, honest and pointing me in the right direction so that I could independently confirm my issue and make an informed decision.
Doug and his crew handled my Roush Supercharger install with ease and I couldnt be happier with the results. Doug was even kind enough to send a few pics of the progress, which was nice to see as well. If youre looking to get quality work at a reasonable price Ford Performance Specialists are the guys to get it done. Thank again, Doug!!
I had issues with emissions due to an email tune. I called Doug up and brought my mustang in, and he had it re-tuned with my emissions certifications just a few hours later. The car runs great! Ill be sure to bring it back to Doug if I have any other issues. Hes an honest and up front guy.
Had a lot of performance work done here on my ladies 2003 mustang gt best work hands down you pay for what you get hes no jack leg best rates compared to other shops Ive checked! OH YEA HE TELL IT LIKE IT IS MAY COME OFF STRONG BUT HES A REALLY COOL GUY THX FPS
Awesome guys here. They will set you straight on your Ford! Great work, and completitvely priced. Thanks for everything Doug and Clinton! My F250 runs great!
Disappointing experience. I really thought my car would be fixed here. I had a minor starting issue. After taking my car to get fixed and paying $100 for a diagnostic, I left the shop after it “was fixed” went to the gas station right after leaving and my car still didn’t start. Took it back only to find out after the second time of taking it again. It wouldn’t start again after a couple weeks. Against my better judgement I took my car thinking It would be an easy fix but after leaving I feel like my car wasn’t touched. Very disappointing, I feel scammed.
Ive been a client of Dougs for 19+ years. Hes successfully and affordably cared for my 99 7.3 F350, my 04 6.0 F350 and my 04 6.0 Excursion. Im responding to feedback recently left by Tammy102093. This person should retract their negative feedback and apologize. Reading between the lines of their feedback reveals a hateful immature person who cant deal with reality so they have to go to the effort of lashing out at the person who helped them. Such a shame but speaks poorly about Tammy, not about Doug. Dont hesitate to give Doug a call, stop in to see him or to take your vehicle to him. You will find hes a good man who takes pride, great pride, in working for you.
No help
They helped me out HUGE! I will be calling on them soon again!
I took my ford f350 to him for a diagnostic only. He fixed my truck without my permission. Didnt bother calling and telling me what the problem was until he finished repairing it. Then refused to tell me where he got the parts from. He said,we dont things like that. He was very rude, short and to the point. He told us to have the money by the end of the week, and it was Tuesday. It is illegal to repair someones vehicle without written consent. We signed Nothing when we dropped it off. This business is not professional and does illegal business practices.Never trust this place!
Without a doubt a great company, we got quotes up to 9K from the dealership and Doug and his team did it for a third. Great customer service, great workmanship, professional atmosphere for a garage and overall I would recommend them without hesitation.
I live in NJ, have a 1992 SHO and had Doug and his team do the 60,000 mile valve adjustment and some other work twice in the last 10 years in his Georgia location. They do great work at a fair price. The last time I was there, a fellow from CA was in with his F250 getting some special diesel work done. He said what SHO owners say - Doug is the man for special work and people come from around the country for his expertise.
Very unprofessional called to get a price for service and the man who answered was very rude and unpleasant he did not even give me a price for service the response I got was a oh thats going to be very expensive but what he did not know is Im sure I make more money than him and would be willing to pay anything for quality work. Guess he missed out on a future loyal customer
Doug and his team will do ya right every time. Extremely knowledgeable.
Doug is the best. He took care of my vehicles and educated me on how to recognize changes and work needed.
Great work. Fair, honest .... a must go to place for you car or truck.
Doug is the best. He works hard to maintain the performance of your Ford.
Good friends of my fiance. Very dependable.
Doug is a cool and nice guy. He has been straight up with me over and over. I like him and his work.
Best place in town to tale ypur ford!
I initially called several local Ford dealerships within the local Atlanta area to see if I could get a quote on replacing spark plugs for my 2006 Ford F150. Realizing that from a dealership the cost for replacing the spark plugs would be very expensive due to the original spark plugs being of a faulty two-piece design. I searched and found Performance Specialist in Mableton, GA and spoke to Doug. Doug seemed to be very nice at the time and gave me a quote of $350 to replace my spark plugs.I scheduled an appointment to bring my truck in and he repaired and replaced the spark plugs for my truck. He stated that 6/8 spark plugs broke during the extraction and I asked him if he had the right tool to get them out and he said that he used it to take the spark plugs out after they were broken. I then asked if he had soaked the plugs before the extraction and he never commented. The shock of this whole experience was that the quote changed from $350 to $712 bucks and all I got was a spark plug change and a smile from Doug. The reason I went to him initially was that he quoted me a reasonable price to change them out and he knew from the onset that plugs were prone to break but never explained that the price would double and then some!Personally, I would stay away from this small shop and stick to the large dealership for the repairs. I least now I feel the large dealership has your best interest at heart where as this Ford Performance Specialist located in Mableton, GA doesnt! Stay away if you can!!!
He knows Fords the best this is my one and only shop I bring my f250 to
When it comes to Ford performance, this place is it. Repairs done right. The first time
