I want to start this by saying for 2 years the Starbucks on 173 was the best hands down. Excellent staff, quick lines, and never a mistake on my coffee. I am here 6 to 7 days per week so thats pretty excellent. Fast forward to the last 7 days, not one day has my coffee been correct! Not one! I have ordered the exact same coffee for over 2 years and all of a now the store doesnt seem to be able to make the drink correctly. I actually used points today because I lost faith in the store and of course there wasnt 4 shots of espresso like the quad shot indicated or price but a sugary syrup concoction.

Talk about remodel! It looks beautiful inside- almost unrecognizable!! Also, absolutely love the service here. Very friendly and efficient. I am slightly biased because I know someone at this location, but she has terrific customer service / communication skills. Speaks a lot about the team here.

Very friendly staff and efficient with all of our orders. Onluly reason not to give a 5 star is every day we stop and every say my coffee is not hot. It is warm/hot.... but never hot.

Disappointing. Ordered three iced chai tea lattes. Super concentrated sugary broth at bottom...not dispersed. Of all the local Rockford Starbucks, this one cant make a good chai tea latte. Try elsewhere

Where do I begin?There was one particular incident when I arrived at 8:45pm. I was refused service because they had decided to close early that night; however, the two people in front of me were still served their drinks. I had no way to leave the line (as there is a curb around the drive thru). So I was stuck, waiting for 10 minutes as the people ahead of me were served.In addition to this, they randomly decide to disable the mobile orders on the app. I am not sure why, but it seems lazy and it is incredibly frustrating. We are still not able to order inside, and I do not have the luxury of waiting for 25+ minutes in a drive thru line.There have been multiple occasions where they have decided to close early without warning (despite being listed as open on the app and google). This is also incredibly frustrating because I usually have to go out of my way to get Starbucks.As much as I love this place, I am at the end my wits with everything that has been happening recently.

Look how festive and spooky this Starbucks is! All of the partners working today were so friendly and helpful as I tried to order the right items for bonus start bingo! They were extremely busy, especially in the drive thru, but they didnt rush me at all, and my order was done quickly. Highly recommend this location!

Nice staff and fast, accurate service! I always stop by this Starbucks while Im in the area!! I would recommend going inside because most if the time drivethru is busy.

The line at the drive thru can get pretty long so order ahead and walk in for it of youre in a rush. Service is great and quality is what youd expect.

Morning drive thru crew was AWESOME!! They were super polite and actually seemed genuine, I ordered egg bites like I always do and the person taking my order asked if I wanted the avocado spread with that....I didnt even know Starbucks had that!! I wish I would have gotten their names so I could shout them out on here, but you guys were awesome today! Thank you for startimg my day off with a smile! Keep up the awesome job!!

The wait is crazy, the traffic gets blocked by the line most of the time. The drink I ordered came out mostly right, but I actually ended up enjoying the mistake more than what I order typically

A bit difficult to get in and out of the parking lot here, especially if the drive through line is long. Also, make sure to place a mobile order far ahead of time. Ordering at about noon had a 25 minute wait. However, Starbucks seemed accurate in its timing and my order was correct.

AWFUL service!! They shut off the mobile order service randomly as well as close at bizarre times. I was in the drive through waiting (this location closes at 9pm) at 8:30 & was told they are “closing early” so I didn’t get to order, but still had to wait while everyone ahead of me got their order since you cannot drive around them. LAZY coffee folk. I’m done with Starbucks-overrated anyway.

This weekend I did a mobile order and didn’t get a good drink but didn’t really have time to go back to make it right. Well when I was at work I met the manager Rachel for this store, without realizing it was her store and told her about the drink mishap.I explained it was fine but, disappointing I just didn’t have time to go back to get it fixed. Then she came all the way back, out of her way and gave me a gift card to get it redone at my convenience. I know this doesn’t happen a lot, and nice things don’t get posted as many bad. I just had to give a shout out to the manager Rachel over at Machesney park for exceeding customer service, surpassing my expectations, and being understanding. Thanks Starbucks! Keep this one Starbucks, because people like her make customers feel appreciated!!

Had a non menu coffee mix.

Im basically a Folgers at home kinda guy but if you want get out to relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee this is the place to go. My wife and I met up with some friends just hang out and visit for awhile. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the employees are fantastic !!!

This location is weird as it closes randomly with no warning sometimes for a couple days at a time.Word of advice: order inside or mobile order. Machesney Park residents are too lazy to get out of the car and many times the line is blocking the road. I’ve parked, walked inside, and received my drink before the drive through line has moved a single car.

Always love stopping for a pumpkin spice latte or mint mocha here as holidays come.

Sometimes you can wait up to 10 minutes for a drink when busy but all in all super clean and friendly service.

I LOVED THIS LOCATION AND I JUST WATCHED THE DRIVE THRU ATTENDED PUSH THE GARBAGE DOWN THEN GO RIGHT BACK TO SERVICING THE DRIVE THRU WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS! THAT IS NEVER OK.....MAKES ME QUESTION HOW MY FOOD AND DRINKS ARE HANDLED

It was nice. Never been inside before. Did like the glass wall to block the cold air from coming in. They kept up with orders. My hubby ordered the Iced Green Tea Latte. He had about 2 inches of foam in it. I ordered a white mocha warm and had about 3 inches deep of whip cream. Different stores fill differently I guess. But the drinks were ok. I dont think I got 10 pumps of peppermint though. Couldnt taste it.

I stopped at Starbucks this morning before work. I went inside because there was a long line. Placed my order waited for 25 minutes for my coffee. At that time I had to leave because I was already 10 minutes late to work. I left without even getting my coffee

This was one of the worst experiences I have had ever in the food service/retail world. We went through the drive thru, they had a few cars lined up, usually no big deal. However, we got stuck in the line because of curbing. It took 35 minutes to get from the back of the line to the front to get our ONE drink. No apologies, no nothing at the window. If you are behind or running short staffed is one thing, but to not even have any sympathy or service is another. Will not be returning to this location ever and will most likely stick to local coffee shops from now on.

Little bit of a wait but very friendly active workers. Very hard workers other words and couldve used 1 or 2 more baristas to make wait time shorter. Still great though.

Placed a mobile order for lunch on Sunday. Got my drinks pretty quickly, hence the extra star, but one of the drinks wasn’t filled all the way due to some issues with the nitro/cold brew machine. Not their fault but kind of annoying since I paid full price. On the other hand, the food took an extra 15 minutes (12 minutes longer than the mobile order estimation). Probably would’ve taken longer had I not walked around to the register from the mobile order pickup location to ask if my order was received. The person warming up food said she was waiting for me to get there as they didn’t have one of the items.... that also happens at other Starbucks, but the bigger problem is there’s no communication (in regards to the customers) behind the counter. Two stars because I understand there was a rush, but the usual Starbucks quality and service was just not there.

Great friendly, courteous staff. They are very accommodating and made sure that my drink was made correctly. It is newly remodeled and very inviting. I highly recommend stopping in for coffee and/or bakery items.

The inside closed as I was waiting for my pick-up order and I had to wait outside to receive it then they lose my order ! Not a great experience

The staff is very fun, energetic, and ready to make the perfect drink. It is never overly busy here and if you dont agree with your drink, they will happily remake it.

Very constant drinks, sandwiches, and bakery goods. If your order is not correct, they will happily remake your drink until its what you want and ordered.

Understaffed. Only come if you can spare 30/45 minutes.

I really enjoy when the regular employees are working the drive thru, they will notice my order is wrong and correct it before handing it to me, the best iced coffee in town, however I really dislike around the Holidays when people want to start a pay it forward chain and pay for the order behind them, stopped going there for awhile because of it!!!! Thankfully its back to normal and I can just buy a coffee and go about my day!

Kinda slow drive thru but great coffee

My 12 year old son went in to order 2 frapachinos. He placed his order and paid. Then 5 other people came in ordered, paid and received their drinks. My son went up and asked if his order was ready and they said hold on they would get it in a minute. After that 5 more people came in ordered, paid and received their drinks. My son again asked about our 2 drinks and was told to hold on. Then another man came in and ordered and while he was paying my son was telling this other customer that he had been waiting 35 minutes for 2 drinks. At that time the person behind the counter grabbed our drinks and gave them to my son. It is clear that Starbucks will treat people different based on their age. My son felt important going in and placing the order and to the Starbucks on 173 he was a second class customer because he was not an adult. Disgusting behaviour Starbucks. You should be ashamed!

Your bathrooms are not clean! Toilet seat up, toilet not flushed and residue on the floor! Thats disgusting! If your going to have coed bathrooms, you have to keep them clean. Nobody wants to see this!

Saturday afternoon staff was incredibly obnoxious and loud, yelling at each other from across the store and laughing at the top of their lungs. On top of that, the counters and floor were an absolute mess, and it took almost 10 minutes to simply pour a cold brew... Disappointing.

Good service but way too loud to do anything without headphones, get some rugs and sound absorbers, Ive been to quieter Starbucks in Manhattan & LA, no joke. Chairs need sound absorbers on legs and please tell off duty staff to stop yelling across the place...its just not customer focused beyond corporate service levels at the counter.

Always rude every time I go through the drive through. Drinks are never consistent. Order the same thing every day and there is always a problem. If you do jotnknow how to make an iced caramel macchiato then dont work at Starbucks. I expect more when I pay $6 for a drink. Get your sh*t together. I I have filed a corporate complaint. Maybe they will train their employees in the future.

Starbucks is great, but its increasing prices are starting to shine a light on their aging business model. With so much competition in this space, Starbucks needs something fresh to stay on top.

The assistant manager Heidi is the best there is.

Starbucks have amazing teas, coffees, but to actually sit down and socialize it is very hard since the music is louder than it use to be before the remodel.
