Excellent service, really helped out a newbie trying DIY home repair!

Jaeger was the only lumber yard in the region that took time to help me order my custom decking. There were other sellers who quoted higher with delivery times months later. Jaeger got me all my decking, rails, and accessories within weeks.Jon Roland (JR) is an experienced and knowledgeable salesman. He helped every step of the way and went above and beyond when I thought I ordered the wrong color haha. The Timbertech sales rep was at my door in an hour. Really hit or miss with the staff here. Last time I shopped at Jaeger Lumber for PVC shiplap and moldings the staff was very quick and helpful. Today I stopped by to inquire about a tread part for my stairs and shop for the barn doors, the guy at pro desk got visibly exasperated, without even trying to look up the part said they don’t carry anything like this and then made a comment about the door as if I’m visibly unable to afford a $700 custom order door. Pretty poor customer service.

I had good experience with Jaeger Lumber for my initial sale but today has put me over the edge. Two weeks ago I went into Jaeger Lumber in Madison and ordered 11 decking boards to replace parts of my deck. I could not take them with me so I set up delivery for two days later (the earliest they had). In that time, Jaeger sold out of all their wood instead of putting my order aside. I received a call on the delivery day to say that they did not have it in stock because they sold it. The employee told me that he was sorry and didnt know what happened and would take care of it. Fast forward to today, when I called and asked for answers to which I was hung up on because the person who answered the phone did not want to deal with my problem. He suggested I call back and talk to the original sales person. This is no way to conduct business on any level. First they should not have sold the wood. Second, the way the person I spoke with me on the phone was unacceptable. His only response was we have no wood and neither does anyone in New Jersey. Finally, there has only been a sorry from the original sales person. Im not looking for a handout, but an answer as to why it was sold would have been nice.If you are looking for a smaller amount of something, Jaeger may not be the place for you because it seems as though they are interested in contractors and large orders.

They park on wrong side of street where there is no parking causing traffic to go into oncoming traffic, unacceptable

Have a window & door home project I have been looking into for quite some time. Had a very difficult time trying to get in touch with folks both on the phone and at the store location. Even had an appt. with an inside sales person that never showed up or had any record of appt. being made. Seems like they dont cater very well to the small guy, if the sales process is this frustrating I dont want to know what the service/installation side looks like. Gave up trying.

Jon the inventory manager was super helpful. Took the time even though my job was small. Got creative and was really easy to talk to and work with. Highly recommend these guys.

I visited the Madison location looking for an Andersen storm door. I was greeted and brought over to the display so that I could look over my options. I then spoke with Jon Rowland and gave him the dimensions. He sent me a quote via email for me to confirm everything before I placed the order. It was an excellent customer experience and I was treated in a very professional manner. I highly recommend Jaeger Lumber for your home improvement needs!

A great alternative to Home Depot and the other larger retailers for hardware. They dont always have the best price, but it is worth spending a little more to save a lot of time. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.

I called the Union location because I needed some help with finding information on oversize lengths of 4x4. The sales team was very accommodating and got back to me in a timely manner. Very professional and knowledgeable. Ill be going to them for my lumber needs in the future.

I go to this local lumber yard for everything. The hardware store is well stocked and staff is easy to deal with always willing to help. I am not an easy person to please but have been happy to come back here anytime.

All the Jaeger Lumber yards are fantastic. The Madison yard has a great selection of moldings and hard would as well as all the usualls. For all my home improvement needs I go to Jaeger.

After calling 2 Jaeger Lumbers near me I was referred to this location for having what I need in stock. After driving 45 minutes it was cutting it close to closing time. I got inside with more than 5 minutes to close and when I asked for 2 sheets of plywood they told me they are closed and cant help me. I will be taking my business elsewhere. It may have been a smaller transaction, but thats very unprofessional to close early when you have clear hours posted. Not sure how they have such a high rating at this location.

The staff is kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and theyre all great guys to chat with and bounce ideas off of. If you need any help with any kind of home improvement projects, chat up the guys at the counter and theyll offer any help they can.

Had a pretty bad experience here - was tough to get a price quote for a door in the first place (first salesman I saw couldnt even give me ballpark pricing). That should have been a red flag. But I proceeded anyway and bought a door from them. They entered the door swing into the computer wrong (of course, I know which way the door swings) and then when it arrived, they refused to take ANY responsibility. I even offered to split the difference with them to make it right. Should be a family-owned gem - but is run poorly. Would not recommend doing business with them.NOTE: Door was NOT installed prior to the problem being identified. QUOTE was put in wrong from the start.
